I had a very disappointing experience at this Men's Wearhouse location that left me in a difficult position just days before an important family event. Nine days before my father's 75th birthday celebration on March 7, 2026, I came into the store specifically to purchase a suit for the event. From the very beginning, I made it very clear to the staff that I only had nine days and repeatedly asked if it would be possible to have the suit tailored, pressed, and ready in time. Two different staff members helped me select the suit, and during the process they asked several times when I needed it. Each time I clearly explained the date and the importance of the event. When the tailor came out to measure me for alterations, he also asked when the suit was needed. In total, the deadline was discussed six or seven times, and each time I was assured that the suit could be completed two days before the event. Based on those repeated assurances, I paid in full for the suit, alterations, and a tailored shirt. When I returned expecting to pick up the suit, I was shocked to learn that it would not be ready until a week after my event. When I asked how this could happen after the deadline had been discussed so many times, the only option offered was a refund. While I appreciate that the refund was issued, it does not solve the situation that was created. I was left without a suit and with almost no time to find another option before a very important family milestone. The most frustrating part is that I specifically asked multiple times if the timeline was realistic. If the staff had simply told me that the alterations could not be completed in time, I would have gone somewhere else immediately or even rented a suit. Instead, I relied on the assurances I was given. I am sharing this experience because this type of miscommunication should not happen when customers are planning for important life events. If someone from store management, district manager or Men's Wearhouse corporate customer care would like to reach out to discuss this situation, I would welcome the opportunity to speak with them directly. read more

7/30/26 I already followed through with a mail to the corporate spamholes. This is the result... Looks like they may top out at close to 15 spams today I am at 14 now and that is close but still some time to get a last one in. So 14 or 15 roughly twice an hour for spam. They do not even offer a cook book to take care of this overwehelming sludge of spam spew. If this is the best they can to I do not understand how anyone would ask them to do something to literally cover thier asses with clothing. Maybe clothing is not what they do well anymore. OMG!!! my husband and I stopped in here on a Friday afternoon after getting information about my topcoat getting hemmed by them since we weren't certain if they did women's alterations here. Upon entering the establishment we approached the registers. We merely asked the guy at the register about tailoring. He was ringing up someone and snapped at us and told us to wait our turn. Straight outta the gate Emanuel was a jerk!!! He had a major attitude! An axe to grind and it was intended for my back!!! After he finished waiting on the gentleman it was finally our turn. Emanuel asked me what I wanted altered and as I began to show him he snapped at me and said "Don't get so excited ". Wow! Whoa!!! Imagine this! I'm an adult now and Emanuel seems to think that he could treat me like one of his kids. Sorry Emanuel. I'm not the one!!! We marched right out of the store after he began escalating when I told him that I was not excited and merely conveying to him what I wanted done to my topcoat. He asked me what I wanted and I answered him but I guess Emanuel didn't like my answer. He's the rudest meanest arrogant person I have ever met!!! Here's my advice. Needed a suit for grandson's prom. Emmanuel - very dapper and efficient - took charge. Shared offerings for prom season. He took measurements, made suggestions, & answered questions. The process was painless & very cost effective. He located a site for the pocket hanky because MW didn't have the color in stock. I would recommend this location to anybody that needs assistance selecting men's formal wear. I was overwhelmed at the organization, peaceful environment & product selection. We had to return for the slacks that had to be ordered. As promised, everything was pressed & ready for another fitting. Dianna assisted us on the 2nd visit, for shoes and belt. The store is a pretty classic Men's warehouse. No complaints there, you get what you expect. The employees do their best as well. My complaint lies in the consistent lack of communication between whoever runs this store and the people that are actually working there day-to-day. In 2022 everyone is short staffed but there is no organization in management of the store nor helping those inside. Finally, to paraphrase Seinfeld, I don't think they know how to keep a reservation. They know how to take one, but really anyone can take reservations. The important part is KEEPING the reservation. So walk in at your reserved time and then wait the exact same amount of time you would for walking in without a reservation. It's an absolutely ridiculous system that seems to have been conspired by Men's warehouse in order to unite customers and employees together against one common enemy... the customer service here is terrible. Left me on hold for 10 minutes after claiming to look for my suit. I called from a separate phone while still on hold and found out that was a lie. The excuse the guy gave was that he's busy. If he had common sense, he could've asked me to call later or not answered the phone to lie to a paying customer. Called another time and spoke with a different associate who was rude and dismissed my request before even asking any follow up questions. In person, while being helped by a woman who was helpful, her two useless co-workers stopped her every 2 minutes to ask questions, rudely interrupting her from helping me while keeping me waiting. This made my brief transaction last quite a while. I will never come back to this location again nor would I recommend anyone who values customer service and quality products. read more

I sent my brothers and father here to get fitted since my now husband and I paid for their suit rentals. My father being on the more heavier side, I knew was going to be an issue. He went in and they sized him and said they could get everything in the size he needed. Well, upon receiving his suit and trying on...they failed to relay to my father that the vest they were supplying wouldn't be a normal vest, it basically was designed like a halter top; his pants didn't fit property, neither did my brothers or our ring bearer's. The ring bearer's pants were too long and baggy. They said they would need 3 days to send back out to alter but by that time it was already 1 day before the wedding. Never again will we rent from any mens warehouse. I do not recommend using them for rentals or purchases. read more

We needed to rent suits for my daughters quinceañera. Knowing that Men's Wearhouse has locations throughout the Chicagoland area, it just seemed like the right choice for our many chambelanes (court). Emmanuel, the most well dressed store manager we've ever seen, walked us through the process and made it painless. Even after we found there to be a problem with the bow tie colors, he quickly got on the phone and rectified the problem for us. I would recommend this location to anybody that needs assistance picking out men's formal wear. Rented two tux suits and not only was the size of my son's shirt incorrect and way too small his tux was hanging on a wire hanger not ironed. Had to iron it and you can see the unprofessional helming where you can see the big line across the middle of the slacks. This suit was for my four year old son. I rented a Tux for my son,the whole process was smooth and easy taking less then 30 minutes to complete. While they were taking measurements,I browsed around and found a cool jean jacket that was on clearance sale for 19.00. It's not Nordstroms but I will come back for an occasional dress shirt ,they have terrific prices and the service team was great. read more

Visited MW for the first time, to help my nephew pick out a tuxedo for prom. It was pretty busy, prom season obviously, so we were greeted immediately but were told there would be a short wait. Shortly after, my nephew's measurements were taken and then we were handed off to another sales rep and that's when things went downhill. Her communication style was extremely poor. She was rude, very curt with her responses, did not explain things in detail and appeared annoyed when I probed for more information. Basic questions nothing out of the ordinary. At one point I attempted to regain control of the conversation by stating "ok, let's start over." It was not a pleasant experience and we will not be renting a tuxedo from Men's Wearhouse. Sometimes retail salespeople forget (or don't care) that they are representatives of the company, and unfortunately she cost this company a sale. read more

I was so pleasantly surprised by the amazing staff and customer service at this store. For a tux rental for my son, I was expected just to be shuffled in and out, but they took great care into making sure the tux fit properly and went above and beyond. I'd actually give this place 2 1/2 stars if I could. . .This place kind of suffers from multiple personalities. For better or worse, I happen to need to wear a suit for work some days. What's more, I recently lost a bunch of weight and needed to get something quickly so I didn't look silly. The first time I went it was kind of an emergency. I had been invited (last minute) to a semi formal event and needed a dark suit. I went and was greeted by the pushiest salesman ever (I think his name was Irwin). I told him several times that I worked for a non-profit and I really couldn't afford to spend that much money. Despite that he kept trying to sell me everything in the store. Each time he brought me something I repeated that I couldn't afford it. Even after I picked out a suit (from the sale rack) he tried selling me shirts, shoes, ties, belts, and suspenders to go with said suit. If it wasn't an emergency I would've walked out. The second time I went there, I had a little bonus money and they were having a two for one sale. I was greeted by a woman (who I later found out was the manager) and I told her exactly how much money I could spend and what I was looking for. She spent the next hour or so helping me pick out two suits and seeing the different things she could do to save me money. . . eventually I was able to use a 10% off promotion and other incentives and walked away spending less than I had anticipated. No place has disappointed me more than here. Horrible customer service. I was told I would get an email when my tux was ready. Great. Low and behold it's the day before the wedding and no email! I call and they say it's been ready for a week (!!) with them playing victim!!! It doesn't end here. When I went to drop off the suits on Monday (the wedding was on Saturday) they moaned and complained about how I didn't bring it Sunday!! Do they think we don't have lives here? Now two weeks after this, I found my sons tux was still in his room. I went over that day to drop it off, and I was handed a $200 dollar fee. Indeed it was my mistake to not get my sons tux, but I received no email nor phone call!! Why take my email and phone number is you're just going to piss it away?!?!? There was always a professional courtesy of measuring anyone who came in - because every store wants to be able to rent tuxes to weddings who have out of town guests, where your store might not have a location. But I was just turned away by Mens Warehouse in River Forest when I asked to be measured for a tuxedo which I will be renting from Jos. A. Bank Clothiers, Inc. I had to get outfitted for a business trip, and went out shopping with my wife because she has a better eye for fashion. Gilberto, the assistant manager, helped us. He knew his stuff, quickly narrowing in on the particular suit cuts that fit me. He made good suggestions, and wasn't pushy. I tried on about a dozen different suits and jackets before settling on two, then we picked out a few pairs of pants. He laid them out on a large table near the changing rooms. While I tried them on and the tailor took measurements, Gilberto and an associate laid out a variety of shirts, ties, belts and socks with them to illustrate full outfits. It was a very soft sell on the accessories - he didn't push them, but merely showed how good you could look with them. It was a good experience, and even my wife, who is pickier than I am about the quality of service, liked the place. read more

My experience having a made to order suit was not a good one at all. I told them what I was looking for and it was as if I was talking to a wall. The suit came back, the jacket was way too big, the sleeves were too short. It didn't have all the details that I wanted. The pants were too tight. It was as if they never took measurements at all. Also the body of the jacket had a run in the material that they tried to tell me could be ironed out. They sent the jacket back to correct the problems, it came back still too big, they did add the contrasting stitching around the boutonnière hole but the sleeves were still too short. They did correct the fitting of the pants. I was so disappointed, I went for the third time hoping now, this is what I expected. I was wrong!! The tailor did lengthen the sleeves correctly but he took it upon himself to widen the sleeve opening. I asked him why does it feel so wide, he replied, in case I wore French cuffed shirts. I took the suit home but honestly, I spent $800 on a custom suit that is the most disappointing suit in my wardrobe. Never again will I let them make a suit for me. They're only good for sweaters and scarves and things like that. I had a jacket made at Indichino, it came back perfect the first time. read more

Had to buy a suit for an interview with a big company. Never bought a suit before and had no idea on tie, shoe, suit, and shirt combinations. Ginger helped me pick out a nice suit, and discounted it to be within my price range counting other items I required. I let her to pick what she recommended for a shirt, shoes and tie, and it all looked perfect together to serve as a business orientated look I envisioned. I visited Men's Wearhouse yesterday to rent a tux shirt and shoes for my Son. Walking in with Son in tow, I walked directly to the rental counter. As I approached, I saw a female pick up the telephone. As I got closer, I waited while she made her call. Never was I ever acknowledged. The female left a message for the person she called. I can't remember how we began the conversation but it got tense. I explained I wanted to rent a tux shirt and shoes. She explained that because the wedding was Friday the items would incur a rush fee. I was aware of this as when I called the day prior I was told the same thing on the phone. I was also told that the expedite fee could be waived. When I explained that to the female, she became rude and said I am the Manager and I won't be waiving that. I wanted to know why and why not when this was offered to me on the phone. How would I have known it is possible??!!!! I don't remember word for word but I do know she was rude and unprofessional for no reason. I ultimately did not rent the items there as I found I was not at the location that the wedding party was registered. At Black Tie Formal, I was able to rent the items for half the price I was quoted at the first stop. The Manager's name was Angel as I heard her leave her name when placing the call that I waited patiently for her to complete. read more

Constant disappointment here. I think the entire corporation thrives on the fact that the are the big boys on thee block and they move away from customer service and towards an IDGAF attitude. I recently paid almost 200 for a tux for a wedding I was standing up in. When I went to pick up my tux, I was disappointed to find out that my pants were too big at the waist. I made it known to the woman who was helping me and she stated that all I needed to do was pull on the tabs and tighten the waste. She assured me they would be fine. Day of the wedding, my pants were too big, pulled in as tight as they could be and they were too big. I will do my best to avoid these guys as much as possible. What a shame. read more

Although I used to be a regular, it's been a long while since I shopped at this store. A new location popped up in my hood, so I checked them out. My salesman was a helpful guy, and helped me pick out a suit among other items. If needed, they can tailor a suit the same day, so that's a nice option for last minute affairs. Everything is pretty nice, from the formal-wear to the casual stuff they have. They can be a bit pricey, but if you catch them during a sale you can get stuff at a half decent price. You'll need a backbone, as the salesman are willing to sell you the shirt off their backs or the mirror off the walls. Most are cool when you decline an item, but that will just have them show you 5 others. Nice place to go though if you are clueless...........like me. read more

I rented a tux here for a friend's wedding. Friend had indicated in their records that I needed to rent the shoes, but let me know that I did not. When ordering the tux, I let them know that I did not want the shoes (for a $20 fee). Tux shows up and has the shoes and they would not remove the shoes except for a $20 fee (so either way I pay the $20). They inform me at pick up that they can't remove the shoes if they are on the master order. read more

Will never step foot in there again. I went into this place with low standards and that was met by the time I got fitted. The employee made comments about how I need to eat more because I was too skinny. Not only that but the suit that I got was definitely not my size so I had to get it tailored. Followed by two other employees joining in to tell me I should have ate more to fill the suit better. After an extensive tailoring with extensive cost due to the employee's mess up in size, the suit still did not fit right and the silhouette of the suit jacket was altered completely and the pants were only fixed at the waist and not tapered in. I felt like I was wearing cargo pants as opposed to any sort of fitted suit. I also called to check and see if my suit was ready to be picked up on the day they said it would be done. After waiting ten minutes on the phone I got a "Call back in an hour." I called four hours later and told the person that I called a couple hours ago to see if my suit was ready, and was immediately followed by a snarky response of "And?" said in full on attitude. Honestly this place is an embarrassment to any kind of retail store. They were lucky that I was forced to bring my business there due to my friends wedding. I could've went to a department store and found a better fitting suit that was cheaper and would receive better service. read more

Our experience started out wonderfully. We started early, about 8 months before the wedding date. We had a large bridal party (we rented 17 tuxes including fathers, kids, and ushers) and wanted to make sure that we got everything in early. They were very accommodating early on and helped us pick out a suit we liked. We did our due diligence and followed up well beforehand, but the week of the wedding as everyone was going to pick up their suits we had issue after issue. The groom's suit came in much too tight (even though his measurements had not changed), so they sent it back for another one which was also not fitting correctly. He let them know that it was too tight to move his arms and their solution to him was not to hug anyone, but just to high five them (!?). It took many trips to the store and finally a call from Jos. A. Bank (who they now own) to give them details as to what they should so to order him the correct size. Additionally, groomsmen that were very slim were given loose suits and told they didn't come in slim fit sizes (which was totally untrue) . There were a lot of issues, but overall everything turned out ok in the end. Although they are conveniently located, my recommendation would be to go to Jos. A. Bank stores, they seem to have a much better idea of what they are doing. read more
