This isn't the first but now the second time I've visited this store. Not one salesperson came up to us to greet or help. They stood by the register chatting amongst themselves. No one asked "Can I help you find something?" We had to go up the sales person to point us toward what we were looking for. It was like pulling teeth. The store is a complete mess as well. There's bags and collapsed boxes everywhere. Not to mention the clutter throughout the entire store floor. It's really hard to find good help these days. Smh. Rob was really helpful. They had great deals on sport coats. We came for a sport coat I found online for my husband. And ended up leaving with 2 sport coats! So many good sales. So, last weekend I went here with my brothers to getter fitted for a wedding. We had such a great experience. We chatted with a delightful young women named Maggie and she took care of us. She was knowledgeable, kind and patient with us. We had an idea of what we were looking for but she showed us what we really wanted and what would work best for us. Just like furniture stores, I have noticed a distinct lack of middle-of-the-road options for men's clothing. The city swims in low-end options and screechingly pricey venues, speckled by obscurities filled with interesting clothes purchased because they looked great and quirky at the time but end up tossed out several years later because they don't match the rest of the decor. I don't want to settle on the cheap side for the men in my life, but nor do I want to refinance my house in order to get a birthday or Christmas present. Mens Wearhouse sort of spans the tricky middle divide, but aspires to stand among the bigger boys. Calvin Klein and Kenneth Cole, two wholly respectable menswear designers, round out their house brand and a few others. You can easily find your rent payment slipping through your fingers while dapper servants of the consumerism gods aid you in the selection process. Just confronted by a rainbow of ties in dashing jewel tones made my fingertips itch and creep towards my wallet. Come in here with a good idea of what you are after, and a fixed price point, or else the very well-seasoned sales staff will soon part you with your money. They do a fine job putting together the whole package, braces and socks and pocket-squares and all, once a fellow selects a sport jacket or you pluck a plum shirt from the cubbies stacked floor to ceiling. I expected this -- I'm female, after all, and employed some of the same tactics during my very, very short-lived stint in retail. The smoothest sharks operate out of Somerset, and the Troy store's proximity captures some of the shoppers bound for the glass temples of fashion. I will say this for Men's Wearhouse, selection and sizing here are very good. Contemporary, classic, and a bit retro fashion all end up on display and I very easily selected pieces for my beau's birthday without any serious hitches. On site tailoring fits suits. They are clearly very popular for prom and wedding rentals, so bear in mind if you're in a rush or searching around for a source. Good customer service interbraided with the sell, sell, sell nature of the business leaves me with a bad taste in my mouth and mixed feelings. This place is great. I worked heavily with Brian over my 2 visits in the same week. My first visit, I had my 3yr old daughter, and I needed 2 things...1) A tuxedo rental for new years and 2) an overcoat as all the ones I had were either hand me downs or just didn't fit right. Brian really took the time to understand my needs to first visit and took the time to interact with my daughter. Albeit shy, she did warm up. Upon leaving Brian did let me know of a bogo free sale going on this week. I discussed it and didn't think much of it, but then I looked on the website and kept thinking. Leading us to today's visit. I brought my best friend along for the sale. I figured we could split the cost of 1 suit and he can also get a nice new fitted suit. This was a win-win situation for us. Since I also got a new overcoat, which would pair nicely with a new suit. Brian really took the time to take care of us, he wasn't a pushy salesman, but made suggestions to help us on our way. During our time we also spoke with a Kyle, who spoke "geek" which was great. Ask him about his comic con wedding with William Shatner (such a good story). End of the day Brian was extremely helpful, and coming from me who is just beginning to update his unrefined, 20yr old style into that of a adulthood really helps. What could have been an astronomical price, was literally nothing, especially after getting shirts and ties to pair nicely. Which I have always had a difficult time with. My son stood up in a wedding this past weekend. First, he went to try tux on and the pants were way too long. Secondly, we returned the tux today, Monday after wedding and we were charges an additional $21.20 late fee. No one ever said and it does not show on website that tux needed to be returned next day. Also, the tux's are way over priced. Definitely shop around. The guys could have all bought nice suits for the outrageous price Men's warehouse charged. Very dissatisfied! read more

Came here to rent a tux for a wedding. The tux itself look worn out. The shoes had markings/scratches on them, AND they forgot to pack in the white dress shirt after I had tried the tux on at the store, even tho the sales rep told me she would pack everything in a bag for me. I was already at the reception hotel about to change when I noticed this. When I brought this up to the attention of someone working at the store the day after the wedding, the blame was initially placed on me as I "should have checked the suit bag " before the wedding day. Eventually they did refund some money back but not after fighting tooth and nail for it. For a 230$ rental you'd expect better. Never again will I shop here. The only nice thing were the dress socks. read more

Amazing customer service from Manager Brian Walters!! We rented our tuxes for our wedding from this company and we were very pleased with their professionalism. We opted for the suit credit and Brian took great care of us. He is very helpful and knowledgeable. He spent quite a bit of time with us and even provided great styling tips. We were able to find a great fitting suit and several shirts and ties. I've never seen my husband so excited about clothes. After looking online to see a buy one get one offer, we headed into this store just to try suits on and get a feel for the quality at the $200 price mark. We were greeted right away by a sales associate opening the door coming in from his smoke break. I noticed right away he was not clean shaven - but scruffy, and not in that GQ kind of way. Not so much a good impression. As we came in another sales associate working the cash greeted us, introduced herself and measured my boyfriend right away to get started. We explained that there were 4 suits online we liked, wanted to at least try one on in this size and purchase all or order from within the store. She went right over to the size we were looking for and declared off the bat she didn't have anything in the size or price we were looking for. To confirm his size she grabbed a jacket off the rack and threw it on him - We were interested in looking at other suits, but right away she started looking up on the computer on the 'national database' to see if there was 'anything at all in that size and price'...she was unable to locate anything...started to feel like the impossible mission so my boyfriend opened up his online order on his smart phone and even gave her the sku numbers - the sales associate was like, oh then perhaps you can order them online, good. Never offering to bring the suits in. Confused, we finally asked if we could maybe try on a suit today laying out that we may be flexible on price a little bit. It was like the magic word... next came a $400 suit, the fitting room... but that's where the service ended. Once he had the suit on... it wasn't any buttering up or tailoring suggestions - it was well, yes or no? While my boyfriend was changing, I could hear a group of sales associates in the back corner of the store goofing around and being rowdy - our sales associate disappeared - when she returned I asked a few questions about online orders, suggesting we may wish to order today from her since we had measurements etc. I asked about returns, and she seemed really unimpressed as that's why they have so many mismatches, or all the orders are returned instore. We thanked her, and advised we may be back or would look a little more online. Luckily as we were leaving she advised we go to K & G on John R and try it out. She warned they don't have customer service or tailored sales like here at the Menswarehouse... but, if we wanted to search we may have luck. It was kind of like a tip to somewhere possibly good... but glass half empty. Luckily, we decided to venture over there... and had great luck. A place to shop and actually take suits off the rack... try on about 10 of them... and purchase at great prices. So.... I guess... thanks, but no thanks. The sales lady tried... but, I doubt she really had the desire to get us in a suit at the price we wanted in her store. So she respected our budget and directed us to a sister company with prices we could appreciate. read more

I honestly like Men's Wearhouse and have received good customer service at this location. However, if you are thinking of using Men's Wearhouse for wedding tuxes do NOT give them your contact info until right when you are ready to pick them out. I gave them my contact info in February and they have called 1-2 times a week since then asking for us to come in and get fitted (for a summer 2016 wedding). It has become harassing to the point where I have blocked the number and they just call me from another number. While we had planned on using Men's Wearhouse for our tuxes, their pushiness is obnoxious and seriously making me reconsider. read more

I always use men's wear house for all occasions. The reasons why I'm leaving this review is because the way they handled things for my wedding. I needed to rent ten suits. They sat with me and showed me all of there selections and what ways to save me money. They also gave me a free suit. This place is a great place to get all of the things you are looking for. They have a wide variety of suits and all different brands. I'm happy they handled everything and made it really easy for me. I recommend everyone try them out for all of there wedding needs. We had a coupon for a free suit after our wedding and the store associate put my husband in a suit that didn't even come close to fitting him. We ended up taking it to a different MW location who agreed it was an awful attempt and offered to return it and give us a shopping spree instead. We wasted so much time at this store. read more

I saw some poor reviews for this location before shopping, but figured that my situation was too simple to have any problems...unfortunately, I found out that the employees here are, at best, uninformed and at worst, blatantly lying to their customers. My toddler was chosen to be the ring bearer for my brother's wedding, so I called about 6 months in advance to be sure I would be able to get the correct size and find out when I should place my order. The woman I spoke with was very helpful and told me to come in about two months ahead to try it on and purchase the correct size (since they don't rent toddler sizes) and that alterations are included in the purchase price. Fast forward 4 months and we go in, choose a tux, and was told to come back for alterations a few weeks ahead of the wedding. At that point, I confirmed with the salesman that alterations would be included--to which he replied that only a hem is included in the price. Ok...not what I was told, but I figured that would be the bulk of our alterations anyway. I'm sure you see where this is going...after wrestling my two year old in and out of his tux a couple weeks before the wedding, I was told that no alterations are ever included in the price. Now, if this had been made clear to me, I most certainly would have taken my alteration business elsewhere. After being charged $30 for something I was told twice would be (at least partially) included, I am very upset that this store was so dishonest with me. After complaining to two of the employees, I was told something to the effect of "too bad." Definitely will never return to this location. read more

I spent $1200 for a suit and other clothes for an upcoming wedding. They give out cheap garment bags which was important since the person wearing the suit was going to be the officiator. They "ran out" of garment bags and absolutely did not care about my predicament. I asked if another store could deliver to their store, Nope. I was put on hold for 1/2 hour after asking the person to check nearby stores, so that I could pick one up. He said there were none anywhere. I was then transferred to the manager who called. They had some at the Sterling Heights store (a lot of them from what I could see) The manager had no idea when they would receive garment bags at their store. I felt like these workers did not want to bother doing anything to help me. The said, a plastic bag was good enough to carry onto the airplane. Very poor customer service. I am telling everyone to go elsewhere. read more

Really terrible service, really terrible. Being a woman, It is not every day that I rent a tux. In fact, the one and only time I have been in a tux shop was 1994. We called first so we would have some idea of price range. They said rentals started at $59.99. I wasn't naive enough to believe that tuxedo rentals hadn't raised a penny since 1994, so I figured double that, $120-$150 range. We go in, find a salesperson, tell him we are here to rent a tux for prom. He takes us to a counter, pulls out a paper, then just looks at us. I stare back until he says "do you have to match a dress or something?" They had two yellow ties to choose from. He starts checking boxes. I ask how much is the rental. He said $215. I said I could coupon. He said the coupon means nothing, the pricing already includes the coupon. I asked what he had in the $120-$150 range. He pulls up the most tired looking rag of a suit with a smirk on his face and says just this. I said no, thank you, we will shop around. He said, "okay, but President Tuxedo just raised their prices." I never even mentioned President Tixedo. He had such a poor attitude. We went to President Tuxedo, nice guy, same tux was $45 less, more color choices, but we weren't done shopping around. As we walked out, instead of a jerk remark, the salesperson said if we come back he could work out a price with us. read more

After my pathetic visit to the Men's Wearhouse in Utica yesterday, I decided to give the Big Beaver Road location a shot. Boy am I glad I did! What a difference. This is the level of service I've grown accustomed to at Men's Wearhouse. William gave great service and was very courteous and knowledgeable of his products.
