Then I tried to pick up the dress two different times when he said he was open but he was not. Finally intercepted the shop when it was open. He handed me my dress back from his car all crumpled and the hem itself is messy and not well done.

I was reviewing my clothes to ensure they were adequately cleaned. My blazer looked a little discolored (it may have just been the low ambient light), so I asked nicely if it was dry-cleaned also. Instead of just answering the question politely (like "yes" or "of course"), out of nowhere he got defensive and angry and shouted at me: Smell it! Smell it! He also got defensive, saying in an angry tone that I inspected clothes like looking at a dead body. Aside from a dumb analogy, it's any customer's right to view clothes to ensure they're adequately clean before paying. Very basic and simple. He's also not usually there before 3p, and requested that I pick up my clothes between 4 - 6:45p. Not very convenient compared to other cleaners. He said he waited too long for me, which makes ZERO sense because I arrived at ~ 6p, within the time frame that he requested. He also charges more than other dry cleaners on average, especially for jackets and blazers. This guy is either a miserable, unhappy person or has a mental illness. I will NEVER come back here again. No one deserves to be treated this way.

When I came to pick it up, not only was it confirmed that I had, in fact, discolored one spot, but the dry cleaners had discolored the rest of the coat as well, leaving huge marks of white throughout an otherwise indigo blue coat :( The owner and I agreed on a repayment of $300, but when I came back the next day to pick up the check, he lowered the repayment to $200. He said that his wife told him it was worth even less than that :( this coat is so special to me and cannot be replaced. They also lost the belt of the coat! I feel disregarded in a neighborhood where I otherwise feel so welcome and taken care of. Ruining a coat is one thing, coming to an agreement and then going back on your word is another. The latter is much harder to get past.

I asked her "can you sew the original hem back on?" since many tailors that I've been to over the years do just that She said no, too thick. She will hem it to look just like the original. Okay, fine. Well I arrive to pick them up and the hem on the jeans is a solid 1" thick wide. I nearly blew a gasket. I calmly explain that this looks nothing like the hem on a pair of jeans, which is what I said I wanted. She apologized and rehemmed the jeans while I waited. Inability to do a good job on the first clean, e.g., I bring a shirt, point out the stains, and come back to see the stains still there. I then point out the stain again, and they take note of it and clean it again. After the second clean, the stain is gone. Why not take note of the stain the first time? 2. They're incompetent tailors. They take shortcuts and do not take ownership of their work. I have taken a pair of pants to get a basic hem (not origin hem) and they came back with poor stitching. I even provided a sample that had been worn for six months, albeit by Alteration Specialists, and its stitching looks better. The adage, you get what your pay for is true. Want poor quality go to Brothers! 3. They are flat-out rude and dismissive. For instance, they demand payment and don't respond to "thank yous" or basic questions in regards to garment care. If Fort Greene wasn't a dry cleaning desert I'd go elsewhere. Come to think about it, I'll do a dry cleaner test and report back on the best one in the neighborhood. If you're OK with poor service and quality, then Brothers Cleaners should be your go-to.

The primary reason I used this service is that they offered Free Pick up and Delivery. I recently attempted to place an order to have my laundry picked up and discovered they now charged a 7.99 Pick Up and Delivery fee through UBER in EACH direction. That is now an additional 15.98 fee on top of their original services. Uber doesn't offer door to door service so I presume I'd be required to bring my laundry to the driver outside, and that's not acceptable either. Though I was satisfied with the work they did cleaning and folding my shirts they no longer offer the very service I was using them for, and I have to change my review down to 2 stars. I would also like to be transparent that one of their friendly employees reached out to me after I left a message with their reception service (that's another problem actually, why is a local business using a reception service with operators from outside the US? They should be employing someone local from the community.) Alan sent me a text message offering me a coupon code with a discount. I thanked him but declined, as it was not enough to make a difference and I would still be paying more, plus it doesn't change the fact that they are now charging for a service that was previously free. If Cleancart returns to offering free pick up and delivery I'll be more then happy to update my review back to it's original rating.

Alan came and dropped off my bag, but it looked small and when I got it inside it was dish towels and linens and not my things. (Though I did find my sheets inside!). I called and Alan came back right away. We had to open all four bags that he had on the truck because my items were scattered throughout every other bag. And I still didn't receive all of my items. I work in vet med, and I am out a few sets of medical scrubs from this event, which are NOT cheap, among other items. Cleancart told me they would look for my things, but they never followed up after the initial email where *I* had to reach out to *them* for a refund. Alan mentioned to me that they recently switched laundromats, and it was apparent that this new place washed all of laundry that day together. Quite disappointing as I assumed it was a given that my laundry would be washed by itself. I can no longer trust this service :(.
