Sunday 5/31 She absoltely loves the Nissan Murano. We were looking to make it our 7th purcahse of one of these. Our last purchase was 3 years ago. At that time the dealership and management were tops in our opinions. This time not pleased at all. As I said she was capable and willing to make a deal right then and there. The Murano that caught her eye had almost 5 thousand miles on it. The asking price refected that fact. Now understaably we were not expecting them to take a loss on the vehicle, however after all the business we have given this dealership we expected a little give and take on the price. Sadly they refused to drop the price one single dollar. Her credit score is in the mid 800 hundreds. So afterr all the business we had given them, they allowed us to walk out. Not once did we even have a discussion with the sales manager to work a deal out. I sure hope the dealerships owners see this posting. We will at this time never be back. read more

When we called to try to request this information to inform our decision of what service to book, we were passed through multiple phone bots and still, in the end, unable to reach anyone. Called again a bit later and spoke with a man at the service desk who was impatient and unpleasant. Made an educated guess at what to schedule, showed up for the service, and all of the interactions we saw behind the desk, excepting Jackie who was kind and helpful, were unpleasant and unkind. Miss my old Nissan dealership before moving to this area. Mentor is no good. read more

Purchased a used car only to find out after I took it to my mechanic that is has a bent control arm, blown valve gasket and was leaking oil. They cleaned the engine so you couldn't see the leak and after going back and complaining they said it was sold as is. I am very disappointed in this company. I can't speak to the car buying experience here as I purchased my vehicle at this location when it was called Nissan by Sunnyside, several years ago, which I understand is owned by a different company then Mentor Nissan. As for my experience with the service department I have only positive, complementary things to say. I take my vehicle here for all maintenance (oil changes, tire rotations, brakes, etc) and have found the service department to be efficient, accommodating and honest. Anytime the service will take longer than an hour, I request a loaner vehicle to run errands while they work on my car so I'm not stuck sitting at a dealership for hours. It seems that many car repair shops see a women coming from a mile away and see nothing but dollar signs figuring they are too inept or not car savvy enough to know fair prices for repair and maintenance. I've never gotten that vibe here hence the repeat business. read more

Every time I bring my vehicle to Mentor Nissan service I leave with a problem. Whether it's a car wash that gouges the vehicle so deeply that I needed new rear window glass (and wasn't mentioned but instead left for me to "find" on my own) to having a heavy smoker porter my car so it smelled like a 1983 bowling alley for a week, it's always something. This time I'm in for a brake job, and I get the car back to find my WeatherTech floormat on the driver's side so slippery I need ice skates to drive. Now my wife being a much more positive person than I would tell you that they probably ArmorAll-ed the mat like a detailer might. I guess that's possible, but then why wasn't the passenger or rear mats done too? And I didn't ask for that, nor do I want that. It's a driving hazard to have my foot slipping around that much, whatever it is has gotten on the brake peddle making it even more dangerous, and I'm going to spend an hour with degreaser down there to get rid of it. I, the more cynical type, just assumes someone spilled oil or some sort of lubricant down there and wiped it up with a shop rag instead properly cleaning it up. This isn't the end of the world, obviously. They didn't go Ferris Bueller on it or something. Regardless, it's just "one more thing" with these guys. I can't imagine ever going here again for anything, and would take my Nissan literally across the street to a Chevy dealership for service rather than going back here. On a side note, I see that my previous worst-ever Yelp review was for Sunnyside Nissan. I guess the name changed, but not much else. read more

I want to start by saying I've always leased my vehicles with Toyota. I went to the auto show and really fell in love with the Nissan Rogue. My lease on my Toyota was just about up, so I emailed Mentor Nissan and the rest is history. Jessica Brunner responded to me immediately, I'm talking no more than 5 minutes. I told her I wanted a 2018 Nissan Rogue SV in Gun Metallic, AWD would be a plus. She emailed me back with a Nissan Rogue SV, AWD, and the Sun and Sound Touring package, which included a moonroof, Bose sound system, navigation, and a few other things. I figured this would be out of my price range, but moved forward anyway. I completed the credit application online and was emailing Jessica quite a bit, she'd respond almost instantaneously. She got me in touch with Ken Dezman. He gave me a price for this completely decked out Rogue that I couldn't even try to argue. I was pretty much sold at this point, but I needed to test drive it first, duh! I went in for a test drive on my lunch break. I fell in love. Ken knew I was on my lunch break, but still managed to discuss almost every feature. I made my first payment and scheduled to pick it up a few days later. When I went to pick it up, Ken got me over to financing immediately to sign all the paperwork. The longest I was ever waiting was maybe 5 minutes. Ken then went over every feature, and I mean every single feature, again. Now at this point I needed to return my Rav 4 to Toyota. Ken knew I was nervous aboit this as I thought they were going to give me a hard time. He went to Toyota with me and came inside. That may not seem like that big of a deal, but it was to me. I knew he was busy and needed to get back to work. After Toyota I dropped Ken off and went on my way, loving my new Rogue. I had a question, so I emailed Ken. Jessica got back to me immediately saying Ken was busy, but would get back to me the next day. Ken got back to me the same day at 11:00 PM. I didn't know this kind of customer service still existed. Mentor Nissan, especially Jessica and Ken, made this process fun. Getting a new car is always fun, but you're typically at the dealer all day long, which can really bring down the excitement. I can't say enough good things about Mentor Nissan. My Rogue is hands down the best vehicle I've ever had, but their customer service is what's going to keep me as a customer. My wife and I have leased two cars from Mentor Nissan in the past four months and couldn't be more pleased with the customer service and our car buying experience. The staff have gone out of their way to put us in cars that fit our budget and met our needs. The only reason we tried this dealer was because they had a great lease offer on a Nissan Rogue in the spring. We were going to test drive the vehicle at Nissan Rogue, and then shop around for a low price, but after meeting the sales staff and hearing them commit themselves to us, we didn't want to shop elsewhere. The same thing happened this summer when I wanted to trade-in my Buick. I called Randy Abrams (our salesman for both deals) to ask what he could do to help me get into an affordable sedan with a great MPG. After talking to him, I knew a deal with Mentor Nissan was certain. When you find a car dealer with a quality product and trustworthy, down-to-earth salesmen, why would you go anywhere else? My husband and I were looking for a specific year, make and model of used vehicle with a manual transmission; much like what we owned before. We weren't in a hurry to purchase. We just we missed the roominess and overall reliability of this particular model. There were several options to look at through various dealers but decided one Sunday afternoon to look at a vehicle at Mentor Nissan listed by Cars.com. When we arrived, we found that the sticker price on the window was different than the internet. On the other hand, the vehicle's Buyer's Guide listed a Dealer's Warranty of 50/50 on engine, transmission, and differentials. In addition, there was the option to purchase a service contract within 90 days of purchase. Long story short, the warranty, along with a pre-owned inspection list and a negotiated internet price (salesman was reluctant to offer internet price; stating that Cars.com goes rogue on pricing and therefore they don't have to honor that price) had us convinced that we would be stupid not to purchase this used car from Mentor Nissan. Fast forward a month later, along with two failed bearings, an extensive exhaust repair, I discover a leaking windshield and in the same day the clutch fails. My husband calls Nissan only to have the used car manager tell him repeatedly that we purchased the car "AS IS". How can that be? We have the paperwork stating otherwise! Again, long story short, management at Mentor Nissan ended up honoring the warranty as it was stated, however not with out trying everything in their power to convince us that we were responsible for the damages, and insisting, even after conceding to repair the car, that we purchased it "AS IS". Okay, whatever. I have the proof otherwise, which is my point for this review. My husband and I paid too much for this car for the shape it wound up being in even with the warranty that Mentor Nissan says doesn't exist. We also haven't been allowed to purchase service contract as stated was available on the Buyer's Guide. I don't want that to happen to anyone else. So, if you chose to buy a used car from Mentor Nissan, make sure you do your research. Don't be lulled into a false sense of security about the condition of the vehicle as we were. The FTC website has great information on how to buy a used car and gives great insight into just how important the Buyer's Guide listed on a used vehicle's windshield is. A wonderful owner and the salesman was nice, but the F&I person was the worst I've ever met. My son just bought a Frontier there and got a good deal, but the finance person made it miserable. I was ready to purchase a Maxima there, but will purchase elswhere after the experience with her. I couldn't even walk away from her as she continued the argument. I've been a car salesman years ago, actually with the the same dealership, and between my family and myself have bought more than a dozen cars there, and have never been treated so badly, I Will never buy a car there in the future, but may consider their Bedford location, as I love the ownershio, but will NEVER deal with the Mentor location. read more

We called ahead, and told the guy what 3 cars we wanted to look at. He seemed really friendly on the phone, and told us that one of them had been sold. So, fine, we are going to look at a couple others. We arrived, and the first car, selling for around 10k, was dirty, and the wheel wells were rusty, so we immediately passed. For that price, it shouldn't be rusty, as there are tons of cars with no rust at the same price point. We went to look at the second car, and it was in the garage. He said that the "check engine" light was coming on, but that it was OK to test drive. We didn't really like that, but agreed. He went to start it to back it out and the car didn't start. Really?? Then, we went to test another car that was a bit above our budget, but decided to take it for a spin. It was fine, no real problems, except for a squealing timing bels/fan belt. We told him that we didn't want the car, and he didn't have any other suggestions based on what we actually wanted initially, just an attempt to sell us the car that was out of our budget. He didn't push hard, which was nice, but a recommendation would have been great, coming from a trusted industry sales professional. We drove a long way for a rusty car and one that didn't start. Lesson learned, I suppose. These are questions to ask the dealer before going. read more

Further into the website, they state $1949 Down and $199 per month. I called Mentor Nissan and found out the "deal" is actually $2499 DOWN for $199 per month. The $2499 down includes Tax, Title, Fees, 1st Payment, Dock fees, and acquisition fees. In order to get a "True" $0 Down as advertised, the payment is actually $279 per month. THEY WILL SCREW YOU! My name is Chris French and I had bought a 2006 Subaru Impreza from them not even a month ago with 74,000 miles on it. LITERALLY 6 days after purchasing the vehicle, the clutch went in it. (not a cheap fix) Mind you I was told the vehicle was fully inspected, even the clutch. I KNOW THEY DIDN'T FOR A FACT. You have to drop the transmission in the car in order to get to the clutch. My mechanic says that the neither the transmission nor clutch have been touched (you can tell). After my mechanic told me that it was the clutch I proceeded to call them, they told me they would call me back, (week later, no call back) I call them, and am told I will be called back. (another week later) no call, so I call again. NOW THEY TELL ME THE CLUTCH IS NOT PART OF THE DRIVETRAIN!! go to ANY website, if you're looking for a clutch, it's listed under DRIVETRAIN. Never the less, drivetrain or not, warranty or not. They pretty much told me to screw myself because they already have my money and don't care. I thought I was in a great place buying from trusted people who cared but apparently that is not the case. I spent all my money on this car hoping it would last me longer than 6 days, and now have no money to fix it. It's been sitting at my office for weeks now. I now have no working vehicle and am out of $20,000. There is no way ANYONE burned a clutch out in 6 days, i'd had to spent day and night trying to burn it out. (I have been driving manual for years now) Today I even called up there asking if I bought the part, would they put it in for me? NOPE!!! They said they would put it in for me for about $250 if I bought the clutch, but I would have to have it towed there and pay for that too (another $150). My mechanic told me he would put it in for $150 because he feels soo bad for me and what Nissan did to me. I should have stayed at Mitsubishi where I started, they fixed a car my brother bought from them used for FREE, PARTS & LABOR. He didn't even have a warranty, I did. BUT AGAIN, NISSAN's warranty is only 1,000 miles/30 days and will only cover 50% of parts and labor ONLY IF it's considered part of the drivetain. I had a great experience purchasing my new vehicle at Mentor Nissan. My sales representative's name was Andrew Chinchar, and he was extremely helpful throughout the entire process. I called in the morning to inquire about a vehicle I saw on their website, and he was able to set up an appointment for me to come test drive that same afternoon. I work until five, and they close at six. Andrew told me to still come in and that he didn't mind staying to help me. When I arrived for my appointment, the car was already sitting in the front of the dealership for me to test drive. He also was very prepared and efficient with the paperwork and any information needed. Andrew also was kind enough to call my father to provide some information for him since my dad was helping me with the process of picking out the right car. Andrew stayed 2 hours past close just to help me and kept ensuring me it wasn't a problem. Both Andrew and his manager provided me with a great experience and I would highly recommend going to this location when looking to purchase a new vehicle. read more

I had previously leased from Mentor Kia and I knew that I wanted to purchase my next car. After a terrible experience, I headed to Menor Nissan where I found the jeep that I eventually purchased. Even though the process took what seemed like 10 hours (more like 3 in actuality) I thought everyone did an excellent job. The dealership closed at 6, but I didn't leave until almost 9. Andrew did a great job even though he had only been there for 1 month! The financing person was amazing and so was the used car manager. To make a long story short, I am very happy with the end result. I've owned toyotas for years and planned on buying another one when my son suggested I look at Nissan due to the high ratings from consumer reports. The closest dealership to me was not this one, and this was not the first dealer I visited. I won't name the other dealer, but I was more than a little turned off by the salesman's lack of attention and attitude when I told I him I was probably not going to buy a car that day. I got much better service and attention from Dan when I was here, and I told him that I didn't plan on buying a car when I walked in. He still had me test drive the Altima I ended up buying and spent a lot of time going over everything the car had to offer. He was engaging and helpful without being overwhelming and pushy. I didn't buy that day, but did before the end of the week. It's been 6 months and I can say that the car has more than lived up to my expectations. The gas mileage is great and it was more than adequate in winter driving. I haven't been back for any service on it, but when I do, I will be sure to edit my review if necessary. read more

Don't waste your time. I went to this place on Monday walked the entire lot looking for couple of SUV I seen online I walked around for over 40 minutes no salesperson even came out to help me. I went into the dealership one guy was sitting at the front desk on the phone never even looked up at me. I walked inside for a few minutes seen couple of sales person talking not one even asked if I need help so I walked out. The next day I get a text from Adam telling me to come back and it will be worth my time so I went back on Tuesday again walked the lot this time I seen couple of them outside smoking and again walked back and forth not one of them even could even ask me if I needed help. I went inside the dealership asking for Adam come to find out Adam of one of the sales people outside smoking couldn't even help, I get from him well I seen you outside walking, maybe you should have greeted me? So then I sit with Adam at this desk wasting my lunch time clearly telling him what deal I got at Kia and Honda and I wanted to be in the same range well Adam tells me well work with me well CLEARLY he didn't listen. Nate the sales manager was ok but he as well didn't listen to me, calls me back telling me we got good news for you, the good news was the asking price was more then when I left the dealership GOOD NEWS?? Worst customer service of a dealership I've ever experienced. Filled out a credit app online one morning before the dealership even opened. Shortly after 9 am I received an email from a sales associate Chad, in regards to the vehicle I was interested in. He said he'd get back to me. 3:30 rolled around, still had not heard back, so I emailed him. He said he was leaving at 6:00 but I should hear back from someone that day. He said the Finance Dept. was very busy. Never heard back, so I emailed both Chad and the Finance Manager Rich, the following morning. Did not hear back from either one. CALLED 2 1/2 hours later and spoke to Rich. He said he doesn't recall seeing my app - said he'd look for it and call me back in an hour (this was at 11:30 am). NEVER heard back from him. Called the dealership at 4:00 pm and asked for that same Finance Manager. Got sent to another person's voicemail, but still left a message. Said I would appreciate a call back, as I was hoping to stop at the dealership that evening, since they were open late. Never heard back from him, never heard back from Chad. Maybe I wasn't worth their time, since I was only looking to purchase a $10K used vehicle. Horrible way to do business. read more

Absolutely horrible customer service! Went to test drive a vehicle. Advised the sales person from the beginning that I was in the process of reviewing which vehicle I wanted to go with and that I was not buying today. Research only. The test drive went well and then came the pushy, overbearing, "what do we need to do to get you in this car today" spiel. The sales person then went to prepare the cost. They came back with a decent price, but I again advised that I was not going to buy today and asked if they would honor the price quoted for 1 week. The sales person stepped away from his desk, spoke to the finance manager and came back with an even better price (5k off MSRP). I again said that is great and I'm interested but still want to check out another vehicle and compare this vehicle with two others to see which will work best for me. I further advised that I'm not an impulse buyer and would further consider this vehicle if they can guarantee the price for a week. The sales person stepped away again and then came back with his sales manager to "tag team" the sale (at least that's how I felt).The sales manager then asked what vehicles we test drove and trashed the others (I expected this but not to the degree that I received) and asked why I would pass up this great deal? Explained that there are other considerations. This seemed to anger the sales person to the point that he asked if I was even serious about buying a car. Then he said he'd do me one more favor and reduce it down by another thousand dollars. When I said I like the price but need to think about it, he said "well I guess you don't like a good deal." I then said this isn't going the way I expected and that he was pissing me off and that I should leave. The sales manager then said, "yes, you should go." I told him he was rude and lost a sale. I purchased a 2011 used chevy cruze from Mentor Nissan in January of this year, one week after having it the battery light comes on, call the guy that sold me the car (Rick) he tells me to call the dealership he is no longer employed there. Second crazy thing. Couple months go by, my car if it sat too long it will start to get HOT and overheat take it to the dealership they repaired whatever they repaired. Friday 9/25 I take my car to the dealership because now the engine light is ON and the car is overheating again, ive gotten oil changes on time and im still having trouble. He says they have to order the parts should be in on Monday instead of taking my car and keeping it til Monday once repaired and give me a loaner he tells me to take it and they'll call Monday when parts get there. I get the call Monday he tells me I can bring it in Friday 10/2. I advised I could not wait that long because my car is overheating I need a way to work and since this issue is not covered under my warranty I could not get a loaner car. Long story short on my way to drop the car to the dealership car cuts off wont start overheated again. Now its at the dealership nobody knows whats wrong could be the engine could be the motor, Im extremely unsatisfied with their service, I honestly feel they shouldn't have even sold the car to anyone because they knew what was wrong. If it don't get fixed or we reach a resolution I will act on this legally. Only had the car 8 months and I'm having major problems. I would expect this from a buy here pay here but this is unacceptable from a major dealership. read more
