First time trying Menudo, and while I wasn't a fan of this particular dish; I think this place is great and it has a ton of other options of things to check out--big fan favorite of the tamales which was served with a tasty mac salad. Came to Ensenada a week ago, for a couple days with family, specifically to introduce them to restaurants I had eaten at previously. First up was Menudo Michoacan. The five of us were seated promptly and waited on immediately. I had informed the family the menudo and posole were the best I had ever had. Wife, mom, aunt and uncle ordered the large bowl of the red menudo with pata. I ordered the red posole. Chips and salsa condiments typically served with our bowls came quickly with our ordered drinks. Each of the family members raved about the menudo, my posole was loaded with pork meat. We all rated it five stars on the food and service. Wife and her mom asked when we would return as they both said they dreamt about the menudo. One of the best if not thee best places to get menudo and pozole. They sell common sizes in styrofoam bowls. They also sell it by the ladle full if you want to bring your own pot. AMAZING! This menudo reminded me of my grandmother's minute the inferno salsa lol. The tripe was tender and delicious. The harmony well cooked. The broth was so yummy . They served the menudo with bolillos (Mexican bread) cut in half and smothered with butter. The bolillos complimented the menudo perfectly. I could eat the bread by itself, it's so good! Great tasting pozole de piggy lol which I had and the menudo is usually pretty great here too! There always seems to be a waiting list to sit on Sunday's but it's worth the wait! This place is super nice and clean. The staff is very friendly and attentive, awesome customer service. Wow! Everything was great. We had the house specialty (menudo) and it was Damn delicious. Authentic and perfect. We also had the machaca. Coffee was perfect strong hot and bold. The waitress was so nice and attentive. Catered to all our needs even though fhe place was packed and busy. We had endless drinks and attention. They provide the works at the center of the table; shredded cabbage with radish, chopped onion, cilantro, dry oregano and toasted Chile de Arbol to add a kick, choice of salsas one macha, one spicy for the totopos/Chips also one more tomato base that was very delicious with the chips very addicting!! My family ordered 2 small and 2 large Pozole rojo/red with hominy, the meat/tripe was so tender not chewy in every single bite of course once you add all the ingredients including lime. My son ordered the red pozole, meat choice espinazo/neck bone. He said the meat was so tender falling off the neck bone. We also ordered the homemade horchata very delicious. My daughter ordered hot cakes con salchicha, pancakes with a hotdog-wiener including egg any way you want. She really enjoyed it. After decades of preparing it ourselves and eating it throughout California, San Diego County, and Baja, this was simply the most awesome!!! Not sure what they show because I was too busy enjoying my delicious menudo. I ordered a extra large and my wife ordered a large. It was very good with no fat, very clean. They have good salsa to add for a spicier preference. My kids ordered tamales which were very good . They had a meat one and a pineapple one. They were very tasty and large. Not your typical size. My niece ordered fried chicken tacos. Also very good. The only thing I would say is that food items state they come with beans and salad. Do not expect green salad like we did for the kids tamale and taco orders, the food orders come with macaroni salad. Limonada was excellent, fresh squeezed lemonade with mineral water and ice. The only thing I could think of that I was a bit disappointed about is that the tortillas were not home made . But being in Baja the store tortillas are pretty darn good. read more
