I'd heard about Tacos El Poblano for a long time but never knew where it was until I stayed at a local hotel and it's right by the entrance. My first visit I was hooked!! The Asadores are awesome and will let you try a sample before you order. I got a small piece of the pastor and asada and both were great! I'm more of an Al Pastor guy so I got a couple of those on corn tortillas and a single asada taco "Con todo" and it was huge! Couple the tacos with a Coca Cola and you've got a small slice of heaven on a colorful plastic plate! I've since been back a dozen or more times when staying at Estero Beach Hotel or on the way back to the house from playing golf at Baja Country Club as a "hold me over" until dinner. If you're driving north or south on Hwy. 1, take a quick detour off the main path for a meal or a snack. You won't be disappointed. Pro Tip: Get the pineapple on the al pastor tacos. Delicious tacos or had during our trip to Ensenada! Key tip here for people that were intimidated by the line like I was, if there's a big group there: go to the spot for the meat you want! Usually there's a huge line for Carne Asada tacos, but often because people don't know that if they want the adobada tacos, they need to go to the other line. When I went, there was no line for the adobada tacos so I went straight in and got my tacos as I wanted! The tacos were a good size, tasty, and super fresh! I wish I would've tried the Carne tacos, but the line was so long - next time! Then get your tacos and pay for it on the side. Good to go! I've been here many times each time I visit Ensenada ! This time around prices were really high , we got 9 tacos 1 margarita and it totaled $76 . Wow to my surprise everything has gone up !!! The people here are still very friendly , tortillas are hand made . WE GOT SCAMMED! We stopped by this place after doing some shopping. Customer service was good. The food was bland. Nothing special. Cleanliness could be better. When we asked for the check, we were told it was going to be $51 USD. We ordered 8 tacos de asada, 1 horchata, and 1 coke. $51 was a lot for what we ordered. The total didn't add up with the pricing on their poster. I didn't make a big deal about it. I paid for it, but never again will I eat here. I rarely post reviews, but this place left a sour taste in my mouth. I felt the need to warn others. Trust me when I say these tacos are nothing special. I am a taco lover!! Each taco 'con todo' will include a nice dollop of guac and tasty beans as well. Be sure to ask for extra grilled green onions and peppers on the side. The consistent fresh flavor keeps me and mis amigos coming back here for the last 3 years. This is a small spot with some street parking. Lots of locals and friendly staff. An OXXO right at the corner in case you want to bring a cold trago (drink) or finish you meal with a tasty paleta (ice cream). Really what's not to love about this place. One of the best taco joints ever. It is our go-to place to eat (we have a rule, if we ask where do you want to go and more than 2 people say "I don't know" we are going to El Poblano). We live nearby and eat there several times a week. Don't miss the tacos al pastor for some incredibly flavorful pork that almost tastes Middle Eastern in its fabulous seasonings. The Mulita Especial is another big favorite. Nothing beats El Poblanos fresh hand tortillas. The place is dirt cheap and as good as it gets. Talk about yummy, local eats! I was visiting the Playa Corona area and this place was highly recommended by a local friend. The first thing that catches my eye is the al pastor station then the cook freshly chopping carne on a wood block. I got 2 al pastor tacos on corn tortillas with everything. We have been coming here for over 20 years . This is the place to get tacos in Maneadero. Truly the best . I believe this taco style and chain came from Tijuana. Over the recent years we have seen more establishments pop up throughout Baja area. You can't beat their carne asada tacos or their al pastor. In the past five years or so they have added other meats to their menu. But years back it was just those two. The place can get crowded but these taqueros are fast and ready to get you your tacos. If you sit down , there are some young women ready to take your order. If in this area stop and you will not be disappointed. What makes these tacos so good is that carne asada is being grilled on flames and al pastor is being chared on big roller with pineapple. Not sure how else to describe that. There are tacos el poblano everywhere! The tacos are not like the street tacos from LA. These tacos are twice the size and they don't double up on the tortilla. They are also loaded with salsa, guac, and meat. Can't beat the price...about $1.25 per taco. Fast as well. read more
