Fabulous place and works well under adversity. They had an influx of people and were short staffed but did a great job! The food was amazing and the staff was wonderful!!!

I game Meo's a 1 star, "Mr J' gave it a 3, so we settled on a 2. 'J's review: Sorry Gary, but obviously you have never had good Cajun food (rumor has it they hail from Waverly, Tn). ONE star for the beer Where to start? Red Beans...Blue Runners out of a can would have been better (hint to the chef, the celery is put into the pot FIRST, too cook down, not be in 1/2" chunks & crunchy). Cole Slaw... well, like everything else WAY too much cumin (yes folks I said cumin & oregano) in every wet dish. Yep that's Latin NOT Cajun! These guys don't even know that ALL good Cajun dishes start with the (holy) trinity..."a staple base in any Creole or Cajun cooking" (even the bad cooks know this!) Enough said, that these guys got their recipes wrong. Now let's talk price & size of dishes...anybody every order a Po-boy? Yes? So we all know that roughly 6-12 oysters usually come on that for about $8, then there's the platter which would have 8-16 oysters...well what do you think when the dish's name is Bucket of oysters...at least a dozen right? Nope! 8 overly breaded babies (but they did cook them well, still very juicy & tender). along with a way-over cooked 1/2 cob of frozen corn (sad too 'cause one thing about this area is that the corn is GREAT!), 2 boiling potatoes, Italian bread stick, 2 Tb margarine, 2Tb Thousand Island Sauce (which they called Remoulade), now envision the little thick plastic cups that Chili's gives you want mayo on the side, one had the Red Beans in (No Rice) and one had Cole Slaw. Now come on! A BUCKET for $17 ?!?, in a pasta bowl stuck in a shallow farm pan, NO Fries, No Bread (of course not, 'cause there was no oil to be sopped up!). We also tried the gumbo, which was the closest to the original, given it was overly hit w/ the cumin / tex-mex mix of herbs. Again these items taste okay, IF you like Spanish cooking (NOT Louisiana). As for the service, very young (you could tell they are going for a Joe's Crab Shack image, down to the tie dye shirts, but no personality or enthusiasm...) Hell! They know they are probably getting 10% of the bill for a tip on expensive food and are happy settling with that. In closing, I've heard that they have bands on the weekend & the place looked like it could be fun if there were more than 3 groups in the joint. However if you would like to know a comparable to this place, think of that "Cajun" place next to the bus station in Duluth Minnesota (but with airport prices & serving sizes). The one star is for the $2 draft beer, sadly, I would have liked more of those, but our waiter wasn't the sharpest tack in the box. Sorry, living close by, this review disappointed us more than you. ************ 10/7/2011 Updated review While I agree with EVERYTHING 'J' stated earlier. I feel Three Stars are appropriate. So let's say this... I am taking the fact they boast about being "Cajun" & "Authentic" out of my review. Having been to The Big Easy many times, these dishes do not compare to what the real flavors are like. So I'm just doing this write up as a basic restaurant. The food is expensive, but does have flavor. There is not much variety withing a 40 mile radius, so I'm all for this place. The service is lack luster but present. I have never been there when they were busy or had a band. My neighbors go here often, (all born in Tenn) they state the reason being half for the food & half for the music. Also, last week we shared a po-boy at Mr. Poor Boy Restaurant. It was 12" long, had 14 large oysters, dressed it cost $13.50. It was yummy! (Review by 'Mr J')

My first thought when we walked in was that the restaurant must be busy all the time, and the tips good, because they had several servers whizzing around taking care of their customers. Good beer and drinks are a given (several house brews), but the food was amazing. We ordered fried green tomatoes (pimento cheese on top) and roasted brussel sprouts, so we could nibble as we drank. Then for dinner: the prime rib au jus sandwich, the Reuben, the Patty Melt, and the Cletus (Southern through and through). Our Toddler ordered the baked Mac N Cheese (good sized serving and looked delicious--lots of cheese and perfectly browned--and a side of fruit). Everyone was happy!

It was very busy around 12:30 mid-day, but I was seated immediately. There is downstairs and an upstairs that looks over the first floor. They have a huge menu. Lots of pub fare. Beer cheese, nachos, various pizzas (tons of combinations, most with lots of meat, and you can create your own). They also have flatbreads (again, several combos, some veggie, some meaty). Entrees include steaks, pork chops, grilled chicken, chicken tenders, salmon, and shrimp tacos. Large selection of sandwiches (turkey, clubs, BLT, reuben, prime rib). And at least 10 different types of burgers. I had the cowboy, made with Monterey Jack, bacon, sautéed onions, mushroom, lettuce, tomato, and pickle). Huge burger (I only ate half). The fries were hot and tasty. The burger arrived medium as I had ordered and the produce seemed fresh. The mushroom and onion flavors were lost somehow, and the burger could have used a little more seasoning, but overall solid for being local to Clarksville. I had a couple of cocktails, some type of margarita with cranberry, and a basic mule. They were fine, but nothing special and nothing I would order again. They have a ton of beers here, and that's what they are known for, so if you're a beer drinker, that's your best bet. They have brunch on the weekends. My server was attentive and kind.

We went to Tom Brown's at a great time because we were able to be seated right away. I do suggest that you make a reservation to be on the safe side. All in all the food, service, and the ambience were amazing. We ordered the Crab Claws, Seafood Gumbo, Redfish with Collard Greens, and Steak Dianne with Brussels Sprouts. Each dish was very tasty and filling. The only thing I didn't like was the size of the Redfish, but by the time I actually got to my entree, I was very full. I definitely will be back to try other items on the menu.

The waitress recognized that we had a small kid and was very helpful with getting everything out as quick as she could. The mean green egg rolls were amazing! Now for the star reduction.... Cooking a steak right just doesn't happen here. The kitchen manager also seems clueless about how to cook a steak, when to take it off, and what a medium steak should even look like. I ordered my ribeye medium, it came out medium well to well done. They offered to make a new one, which came out purple..... Not even cooked all of the way through. So the waitress takes it back and a few minutes later she brings it back out. Same steak that I had already cut into. The steak was not only very try but again was very overcooked. It was medium well to well done yet again. And more or less she just said sorry about that and left the table. I paid almost $50 for a very dry and overcooked steak. And the reason why I haven't been there in close to over a year was this same issue multiple times before we decided to just go elsewhere. The place is well decorated. And for a Friday night there were maybe 4 tables sat.
