    Oysters and blood orange martini
    Ashley E.

Awesome experience. Been wanting to try this place out for awhile now. I was able to get same-day reservations which was nice, and I'm glad I did because the dining room and bar both filled up pretty quickly! My server was attentive and informative. Food and drinks were delicious. I had raw oysters to start and wanted to try a craft cocktail, so I ordered and enjoyed a blood orange martini. For my main course, I had the 8 oz filet and swapped my potato for collard greens. My friend ordered the redfish which was also quite tasty. My steak was cooked perfectly per my request. Although I was quite stuffed, once that dessert tray walked by I knew I was done for. My friend ordered the creme brûlée and I had some sort of cake with berries and ice cream. Really enjoyed the ambiance of the restaurant as well. I will say I was a little worried about attire as I thought this was a fancier steakhouse, but my jeans and sweater seemed appropriate to what most others were wearing.

Perfect meal. Wife and I visited for our anniversary and had a perfect meal. My ribeye was cooked perfectly and my wife's lobster was perfect. The service was first class too. We talk about going to other restaurants for our anniversary dinners, but we keep coming back to Tom Brown's.

Brought my (very picker eater) mom here last night and had a lovely experience! I'll be honest, the drink menu is what caught my eye initially, as they have lots of creative and delicious sounding drinks. But I was also really excited to see frog legs, gator bites and escargot on the menu. We made a reservation, although on a weeknight I'm not sure that was needed, and were seated right away. Our server was awesome! He was helpful, knowledgeable and was very assuring to my mom about her food sensitivities. The food was fantastic, the service was impeccable and it was a lovely experience over all. A+ experience. Side note: it's also a gorgeous space, I love all the little details that someone clearly spent a lot of time curating.

Not only was the food absolutely amazing -- the service was too! Ashley Brown was behind the bar making sure the restaurant was running smoothly and she took the time to talk to us and that made the occasion that much better! Beautiful restaurant decorations, vibes and comfort.

Loved the steak, it had a great smoky char on the outside and was super tender inside. The portion was fair, though I wish there was a bit more seasoning. The fries on the side were crispy and well seasoned. Service was polite but took a while to bring our check. The ambiance was nice, dim lighting and a cozy feel, perfect for dinner.

I came here tonight with a coworker after a long day of work. I enjoyed the atmosphere and the restaurant and the excellent quality of the staff. I am not an Alabama native, so I'm going to be honest and say I was a little worried about my food options around the area. I was glad to open up Yelp and see you such a beautiful and High class restaurant available. The food was absolutely amazing. My coworker and I decided to just order a whole bunch of apps and some drinks. out of everything I ate I have to say that the steamed clams were the best if not I would have to say the ahi tuna. That does not take away from the rest of the plates though. Everything was amazing. The only thing that I may have not enjoyed as much as the others could be the crab patties. Next time I'm in the area I will definitely be coming back.

Amazing restaurant. My foodie friend was in town and I decided to take her here since I hadn't tried it either and heard great things. Only recommendation is to have white table cloths to match the rest of the atmosphere and the prices. The cocktail list was impressive. I chose the honeysuckle lemonade and my friend got the lavender lemon drop. I was impressed by the purple sugar. Such a cute touch! The drinks were awesome! We started with the fried mushrooms and lobster bisque. Both were excellent but you can't skip the bisque. The lobster bisque was a must. I opted for the ribeye and a salad. I loved their salad dressings options. Spicy cilantro ranch. Yum. The loaded baked potato - amazing. Don't get me started on dessert. They bring this huge tray out and on top of that rattled off 4 other desserts... wow. I chose the caramel crunch cake. It was good. Next time I'd try the blueberry cheesecake or the chocolate lava cake. I can't wait for the new location to open closer to my house.

Finally made to Tom Brown's for dinner and we loved it. The service was excellent, we never felt rushed. The pace was perfect for an enjoyable meal. We started with drinks, soup/salad and then finished with a delicious entree. My husband got the surf/turf special and I had the grouper. We both thought the steak and fish were cooked perfectly. Our waitress was knowledgeable about the menu and very pleasant.

We dinned here for my mom's birthday dinner. I made a reservation for 6pm and we were promptly seated upon arrival. The service was good to start, but as the night went on and more parties arrived it slacked. The food did take a minute, but once we got our food it was delicious!! The inside of the restaurant is very classy. Perfect for a date night, girls night out, birthday dinner, etc. It was loud inside the restaurant, but it wasn't distracting. Overall a pretty good experience.

I visited Huntsville for the first time this weekend, every restaurant on the strip was packed. We almost gave up hope until we came across this cute little hidden gem -- Tom Browns. We weren't expecting to get a table given how crowded all of the other restaurants were however, when we walked in we were immediately sat at the next available table which was outside. It was a beautiful day so we weren't mad at all! I pulled up the menu, it was super cute and funny with the different menu items. Starting with the drinks of course I had to try the Monte Sami Sip Martini, it was delicious. For my food I had the shrimp and grits, it was amazing! I couldn't even finish. From the great waiters to the decorations inside and out to the food I had a wonderful experience at Tom Browns!

We had a positive experience overall while visiting for our first time. What we loved: - fun, eclectic atmosphere. Not too stuffy or pretentious. - we made reservations and we were seated very quickly after arrival (we arrived about 10 minutes ahead of our reserved time). - Food was delicious! We ordered... *Lobster Bisque *Crab & Corn Chowder *Mean Green rolls (or something close. They were fabulous either way). *Extra Dirty Martini (x 1) *Smoked Bourbon (x 2) *Seasonal Special: Elk *Ribeye w/add on fried Gulf Shrimp (yum), Creamy Greens & Mashed Sweet Potatoes *Banana Caramel Cake Something (can't recall the name) *Fresh Brewed Coffee - Service was great in terms of demeanor and communication of our hostess. Side mentions: - The owner makes a point to walk the floor and check in on guests (which I believe is an awesome touch!).... TB though for some reason looked over at our table and kept walking. He talked to the larger parties on both our right and left and my husband noticed the snub. While it wasn't earth shattering, it was a little strange and I didn't understand the purpose of picking and choosing which guests should feel special... I told my husband that maybe it was because we asked for another table (they initially seated us at the first table by the busy entry way). Post COVID + my husbands Army PTSD, we've learned that him sitting in busy areas doesn't work well for his anxiety. We didn't make a big deal about it and I apologized to the fabulous young lady at the front podium for even asking. But after dropping $300+ for two people on our first date night of 2021 (literally), it felt a little odd that the owner deliberately swooped past our table in favor of other guests. We booked at TB because we are new to the area and it came highly recommended. We'd like to return but if the cold shoulder is still part of the meal, I'm not sure how we'd feel about that.

Nestled in historic Madison, V&O offers some of the most unique wines and whiskey/bourbon offerings in the region. There's a typical bar area with TVs showing sports, but surrounding the bar are plush, lounge chairs and couches that feel more intimate and inviting for groups. Selection of libations is a great start, but without passionate and knowledgeable 'tenders the experience feels... incomplete. V&O doesn't disappoint here either as everyone is well-versed and opinionated in what they are serving. It's the perfect place to let a few hours bleed away and forget what is going on in the world; maybe have an intelligent sparring session about tastes in the 'brown drink' or adult grape juice... You can spend an entire night here or end up here at the end of the night for a night cap... I don't think you can wrong either way. There are televisions playing softly in the room with the bar but there's also a more intimate room; I think it'd be a nice place to gather with friends. I was told there'd be wine tasting nights starting soon! The bartender, Teylor, was exceptional! She put me right at ease, spoke knowledgeably about each cocktail and wine option, and had a good sense of humor. She worked efficiently among the patrons and was very attentive and polite. Shout-out to Teylor! The vibe was really great too - the other guests were friendly and sociable without being overbearing and I enjoyed my visit while having a drink. I ordered the Monte Sano Sunset, which is a rum drink with fruity elements to include orange and pineapple juice as well as a squeeze of lime. It wasn't overly sweet and didn't upset my stomach as similar drinks often do. It was a pleasure to watch Teylor make my beautiful drink as well as what others ordered; there was even fire involved with one particular beverage! I enjoyed my drink and heard rave things from the other guests about each and every drink that was served. Although this bar is rather far away for me, I look forward to bringing friends from out of town to this special new place.

The restaurant sits just a stone's throw from the ballpark where the Rocket City Trash Pandas play, so the whole place already has a fun, lively atmosphere before you even sit down. Now given the name "Prohibition," I half expected someone to knock on the door and ask for a secret password like it was 1927. Back in those days, enjoying a drink required secrecy, dim lights, and maybe a jazz band playing in the corner. Today, things are a little easier... though for this non-drinker, my order was simple: water on the rocks, hold the lemon. I prefer my water about 100 proof for maximum flavor. My boss and coworker grabbed seats at the bar while we looked over the menu. We kicked things off with the Pork Belly Burnt Ends and the Pork Bao Buns. Let me tell you, those Pork Belly Burnt Ends were an absolute masterpiece. They came out crisp and seasoned just right with a little spicy kick. Served with raw carrots, homemade pickles, and lettuce wraps to bundle those little jewels together--downright tasty. If food had a Hall of Fame, these would already have a plaque on the wall. The Pork Bao Buns were good as well, but they simply couldn't match the grand slam the Pork Belly Burnt Ends delivered. For my main course, I ordered the Smoked Wangs with the Jala Mango seasoning and a side salad. The wings were delicious--cooked and seasoned to perfection. Every bite was solid. No bootlegging required. Prohibition definitely hit it out of the park today. Between the great food, the great service, and the fun atmosphere near the ballpark, this place is a must-stop for locals or anyone just passing through Madison. Our waitress tried pretty hard to convince us to order dessert, so I'm guessing their sweets are just as flavorful as everything else on the menu. The only problem I had today? I couldn't finish my meal. I was absolutely stuffed. If this had been the 1920s, the only crime committed here would've been leaving food on the plate. Great food. Great service. I'll gladly return--though next time I may need a little more room in the stomach.

However, I can swear by the fact that this proves my theory on Mexican food, in North Alabama at least, being worshipped only if it tastes like cardboard and has no seasoning. This is not my first time at Phil's, either location, and every time it is always unremarkable. But this time, it was inexcusably bad. My fiancée's margarita tasted like water with lime in it. There was no triple sec or tequila taste, though she did say she felt a little buzz from it. So clearly was there but, to what cost? $9 for a tasteless marg is a little high. The queso had legitimately no flavor. Not even cheese. Just like table cream. It even had peppers in it but you could not taste them. This was the time where we questioned if we had caught COVID in the 10 minutes we had been in there and lost our sense of taste. I quickly learned this wasn't the case when I tasted the salsa which had the flavor of body odor and canned tomatoes. The chips, however, nice and crispy. So a plus there. Get the chips. Don't dip them. We split the chicken fajitas and the 3 minutes it took to come out after we ordered it, should be taken as a sign that it's not going to be great. The grill marks felt laughable as the chicken had no texture or flavor of something that was grilled. It, along with the peppers and onions, had a slimy texture and, again, absolutely no flavor. It seemed to me that this was a classic case of either Sysco's Finest or Sous Vide cooking. The rice on the side also had no flavor but the beans actually had a great taste, but a few felt under cooked and slightly crunchy. The stand out was the home made tortillas which we thick and fluffy. This made me question why, if you're going to the effort of making tortillas and chips in house, why cut corners on your MAIN part of the meal? As for the service, it wasn't bad but the waiter had to be asked multiple times for refills and was very inattentive to our table while favoring who seemed to be regulars behind us. Phil's has the essence of "what a Mexican restaurant tastes like in Norway if opened by a British person who had Mexican food once on a work trip to Idaho." Decor that's trying too hard, food that has no seasoning, and service that is lacking.
