To start, Meraki is appointment based (I've done it online), deposit necessary, and a little pricy. I have made appointments with Karina every time, and she does an amazing job every time. Whether I'm doing something fancy or simple both types are consistently well done. My only complaint is that my jewel on my nail fell but she was quick to accommodate when I called. The decor is seemly glam but if you look a bit closer there could be a bit more organization. Other than that, I always find myself coming back. My nails have been shaped evenly, the appointment time is truly dedicated to me (so I have never felt rushed) and the acrylic lasts forever. I've had nails stay in for 4 weeks, no lift. Best advice for any nail salon is to ask for what you need! You want sharper edges on that coffin, ask! You don't like the color? Say something on the first swipe of color! read more

I will never return to this salon. I got my nails done this passed Saturday, June 8th and my experience was horrible. I had an appointment scheduled with them almost two weeks before the date, and even though I had to place a down payment to book the appointment, my nail tech rushed through the entire process. She texted me to alert me to the fact that she was able to finish her previous client early, and I could come in when I wanted. I showed up around 5 pm, about an hour before my appointment, and I was done in an hour. I had Apres Gel X nails applied, and was shocked that I was in and out. I didn't think much of it, as I'm new to the nail system, and even though the nails weren't the shape I wanted (I told her I wanted a rounded almond shape, nothing pointy, and she left me with stiletto nails) they looked pretty. Cut to me waking up at 3 am from my fingers throbbing in pain. I was scared as I didn't know what was happening, and my nails were sore on top of everything. I now know that this occurred because the Gel X nails applied were too small for my nails, and basically squeezing the life out of them. My fingers a little over 12 hours after application, were warm, red, and throbbing. Meraki is closed on Sunday's so I had to find another salon to remove them. Thank goodness I did! The nail tech took her time in removing the nails, which was also painful, and explained everything the Meraki nail tech did wrong. The list of faults was numerous but the worst being, of course, rushing so badly that she couldn't even size the nails properly to my nail beds. I can't believe a salon that "specializes" in fashion nails would allow a client to be physically hurt by shoddy technique and application! I spent 65 dollars (including a tip I now more than regret leaving) to have my nails removed less than 24 hours later with concerns for the health of my nails and fingers. It's 3 days after the removal, and my fingers are still sore from the experience. I've attempted to get in touch with the manager of the location, but she has yet to return my calls. I also went to the salon yesterday, a Tuesday, at 7pm and they were closed. The posting on the door states that from Tues - Sat they're open from 10am - 8pm, yet they were closed a full hour early. I think this is something they do on the regular, and if I were the owner I would not be happy. I say this because they were rushing to get out of there even when I was there for my appointment. At this point I feel like my money is lost, as even though I've left my contact information for them they have not reached out to me, but the least I can do is warn other people away from this location. My co-worker has been a loyal patron of the Winter Garden location, so if you want to visit a Meraki Salon, I suggest taking the drive over there. One of the techs here may end up leaving you disfigured, do not trust them with your nails. read more

I wanted to love the place. I will be as detailed as possible First of all, I was excited about this place because their nail techs were so diverse. I strayed away from nail salons because it was being dominated by one ethnic group and the atmosphere that most of these salons created was becoming intolerable. So i have not gone to a nail salon for over a year. LOCATION: 3stars This particular location is in a strip mall. It's somewhat difficult to identify it as a nail salon. Apparently on my visit, they are going through renovations. I scheduled a pedicure and it was cancelled the evening before because of the "renovations". The tech on the phone told me they did not have the pedicure chairs available. Please note: On scheduling each service you are required to put a down payment, which is non refundable if you cancel less than 24 hours in advance. I still had my full set scheduled. I booked my appointment ONE month in advance. The front area in the salon is nice with a glamour-esque feel. Where the nail techs sit, the foot boards were removed and there were large chairs to the side of what I assume was the pedicure station. That was the only sign of work being done. The music being played was a little louder than expected, but hey, I think it's suppose to be trendy PROFESSIONALISM: 1 stars The main reason for this low rating on professionalism is the license displayed by law that I came across were all EXPIRED. Maybe not updated but it had been since October 2018. This is a big deal. They need to fix it immediately. In addition, It may be a little hard for this kind of environment to balance a good level of professionalism, relaxed and "hip"/trendy atmosphere. I personally prefer the highest level of professionalism. Music was being played a little higher than normal volume and you could still hear the conversations between the nail techs. These conversations when spoken in English were inappropriate with curse words most times. And in Spanish, I know how to identify the curse words. I think the clientele normally wouldn't mind, but definitely not what I was expecting. Thankfully, My nail tech was very friendly and professional, but the others dragged the rating down Level of work: 4 stars My particular nail tech was rather skilled. I loved my nails for the artwork, beautifully done!. For me, maybe I picked something that was too glamour, because I never got accustomed to the length. But I will say they were done very well. I was coming here for gel manicures and then my technician left and I was just coming to get my eyebrows threaded with Noori. Now I have decided to stop using this shop. First off, this shop is VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. The yelling between nail techs who use profanity, rap music blasting and the place needs a really good cleaning and redecorating. It is dark, dingy and decorated cheaply. Secondly, Noori is very rude. She does not let you tell her how you want your eyebrows to look. She just does them in 2 minutes and then wants you out of her chair. If you tell her to do anything more she snaps at you and acts like how dare you say anything even though you are paying for the service. Overall - I would not recommend Meraki Beauty Studio. I am giving this salon 1 star, but giving Noori my lash/brow specialist 5 stars. The salon is exactly how others on here and on google say "VERY unprofessional" and honestly not clean at all. I have sat in the waiting area on multiple occasions and have bee disgusted by all the dust and dirt. You do not get a friendly warm welcome feeling when you walk in. The techs are always talking to each other about other techs and people in a very unprofessional way. Your clients don't need to know the drama that is going on in your salon. To have an owner participate in the conversations or allow it to go on is even more unprofessional. I have been going to this salon to see Noori for about 6 months now and how the owner speaks to Noori is just embarrassing and unprofessional. I debated on if I should even write a review but after witnessing it over and over I felt I needed to say something. Almost every time I have been in Noori's chair the owner interrupts her to ask how long she will be because there is a walk in. Noori is not spoken to in a professional tone or even a friendly tone. Each time I felt as if the owner was annoyed with Noorie or trying to rush Noori through my appointment like "How much longer theres a walk in" OK AND ?? I booked my appointment in ADVANCE and PAID A DEPOSIT, the walk-in can wait. If you own and run a salon you should KNOW about how long an appointment takes. You look at a techs schedule, you see what service the client is having and you give the walk in an estimated time, you don't rudely interrupt the tech. I understand if an appointment has taken much longer than expected but 15-20 mins into an appointment you ask how much longer ? come on ! I am sure she wouldn't dare interrupt a nail tech to ask how much longer or even dare to speak to them in the tone she speaks to Noori. This was my first time coming here and I was beyond excited to get my nails done because I see all of the beautiful pictures on their social media. I ended up being really disappointed. The lady who did my nails was the sweetest lady, but I was expecting the nails I see on their Instagram and I just didn't get that quality. Decided to visit today after seeing pictures on Instagram and seeing the results from a friend who was a customer. I'm still on the fence about getting acrylic nails due to my gym routine. However, every girl can use a good pedicure and was in need! LOL The décor in the salon is very diva. Lol. Chrome, glitter, and mirrors. But it was a bit toasty in the waiting area due to the large windows. But they do offer H2O as you wait. They have a large variety of nail polish and the options are endless for nail designs. I opted to keep it simple and get their "deluxe" pedicure. You walk to the back where the magic happens. The pedicure stations are setup with oversized chais and throw pillows. The bowl for your feet is similar to the soakers you would use a home. No large tubs with jets or chair massagers. The tubs were a bit uncomfortable for me. I wish that I could have scooted my chair back due to my long legs, if felt a bit bunched up at times. Overall Michelle (I think) did a great a job doing my pedicure. She paid attention to detail and took her time. Not in and out in 20 mins as with most salons, however the tools she used were clean and her customer service was A+. I opted for 4 stars for a few reasons. At first I was told the pedicure was $25 and +5 for deluxe. However, when I showed them the Instagram promotion for a $20 pedicure, it was not $10 for the deluxe....In any event, I'd say make sure the marketing team and staff are all on the same page as far as pricing. They play all the good music and the salon interior is so glam and chic. Karina is my nail tech and I always leave absolutely obsessed with my nails. She is so so talented and so sweet!! Well Groupon had a coupon for $40 for $80 of work. I'll try it out. Big mistake. Less then 24 hours my nails started chipping and they were uneven. I called and left a message by text with pictures. As soon as you walk in you get the vibe of how unprofessional this place is, there is no real order or check in per say. You walk in tell the front desk who either hollers at the nail tech or walks over to them to let them know there next client is there, then most of them come and call there client when they are ready with no introduction. I should of begin with how backwards there system is to book online, especially if getting two services mani and pedi is just so not realistic - my mani was for 2pm and pedi for 2:45... if it's your first time there why wouldn't the system stager the appt w enough time in between ? Anyhow Susana did FANTASTIC job w my mani, she took her time and really was detailed to giving me exactly what I asked for, I loved my experience with her she is very nice and experienced... Elizabeth who was to do my pedi, was not very professional and working between me and another client at the same time... Ive had plenty of pedis in my lifetime to know the proper technique to cleaning nails and snapping away with a cuticle clip is not the way, I definitely sensed the lack of experience so much that I couldn't sit through it and decided to walk out because I knew I didn't want to waste anymore time And be even more disappointed - it reminded me of a pedicure you get at a beauty school technical school, nothing relaxing about that... I tried to leave as nicely as possible in this situation, she insisted to be confrontational even saying it was taking so long because I had taken longer with my hands and following me while I was talking to the manager on what she did wrong- which is not my job to explain and the manager could do in coaching her at another time... I wanted to like this place so badly. I got my nails done and my nail tech was very nice. I paid $85 for acrylic glow ombré... asked for white glow in the dark tips and left with aqua blue. Not what I paid for, but they were beautiful, so whatever. Less than one week later one nail lifted half way off my nail bed. One full week later, two more nails. I contacted my nail tech who didn't have any single openings, not even for a quick fix. I didn't have time to wait for an opening (which I looked for online) - I'm a hairstylist and I am busy at work myself. Although three nails lifting were representative of less than excellent technique, I blame the business model more than my nail tech. You can't have an appointment only nail salon unless you can accept walk ins for mistakes not at the customer's fault (or even *if* it was his or her fault). Especially for the price tag charged with the original service. If anything, take the client, fix the mistake, and proceed a bit late with the scheduled appointment. If you don't want to make other clients wait, then maybe work on better technique to ensure less lifting in the future, or even hire walk in only nail technicians. I'm in the beauty industry too, and if I make a mistake on a client, I'll fix it as quickly as possible to ensure that he or she will come back and see me. This is simply bad business. read more

I never leave bad reviews because I understand individuals have "off days" but I have experienced this one too many times at this salon. Karina's attitude is so poor/unprofessional towards clients and especially towards all of the employees it's sickening to witness. I am still in shock at how I was treated being 9mos pregnant she wanted me to wait an hour just to glue ONE stone back on. Literally. A task that will take 15seconds at most! Lol it's really unbelievable. She offers no solutions to the problem and just gets upset and starts giving you attitude. I myself am my own boss so I took the professional route and offered about 3 easy solutions (one being to just provide me with the stone and I will glue it on myself at home) that will benefit us both which she rejected and continued to give attitude. One of the employees "Susanna" overheard the conversation apologized and quickly applied the stone for me. Extremely disappointing when the employees have better customer service than the boss. I have been coming here for a while on and off and I am very picky with my nails, but they do a great job. I love my nails everytime I go and have no complaints about them. The shape and polish are perfect. I always schedule my appointments with Karina, but not going to lie they are expensive. Even for the simplest things. I usually get a full set and just a simple solid color and you could still pay like $70 or $80 for only that. I think it is a bit overpriced and another thing is I like to get stuff done early so I schedule the first times that they have like 10 am and they open at that time, yet the nail tech is always 15-30 minutes late or even more! I have been to several locations of Meraki and every time it seems like the owners are super rude. My friend was once told by a winter garden employee that she "could not afford her". Really? That is the rudest thing I have ever heard. Safe to say we never went back to that location. Decided to try out the new one in casselberry and with the exception of the girl that did my manicure once it was just a terrible experience. The owner is extremely rude. I was referred to Noorie by a friend who gets her brows threaded by her.. I checked Noorie's IG and was pretty impressed with her threading so I decided to get mine done by her. Definitely will NOT be returning.. she did an ok job on one brow but the other is off, she was NOT friendly or welcoming at all, it seemed like I was a bother. I didn't have a consult nor did she ask how did I want or like them. she never cleaned my brows or wiped with anything nor did she apply anything after pulling hairs out of the follicle. It was gross! My brows still burn and I have a lil break out on one. It was simply a dirty situation. They were late to open up the store at 10 am , keep in mind my appt was at 10 am. I choose Alex again for both appointment since my first time experience was great. I'd felt rush and nails turned out ok but not the price of the fill, gel color and matt finish for $45. So the gel pedi had a special for $25, normally $45. I felt like the pedi was like a quick polish change and soaking feet in the gel stuff afterwards. My toes didn't dry and they don't have toe separators , the quick dry didn't quick dry my polish. I had always heard amazing things about their nail services and decided i'd walk in since i was finally free today. once i walked in i was told i could get a full set by a skill building tech and i was totally fine with that. she ran a little slow but she was skill building so i completely understood however she had an appointment so she couldn't finish my set. the second tech completed my set and obviously because i had two techs with two different styles complete my nails they don't look perfect but they do look good. what threw me off was the energy in there. i felt unwelcome and it seemed like my first tech was uncomfortable too. i guess i'll try and schedule and appointment for the next time with another time in the future read more

This is the second time I've scheduled an appt for a fill and been advised I had to wait upon arrival. The first time I waited more than an hour and had to leave without getting my fill, and today when I arrived I was advised I needed to wait 30 mins. The nail tech nonchalantly said she forgot to let me know in advance . I've been in nail salons before and know sometimes things can get behind but this is a repeat occurrence. I could have adjusted my schedule had she not "forgot" to notify me and been able to keep my appointment . Last Friday, on 3/31, I went in to get my nails done by Mercy. It took 2 hours for me to get my nails done and my nail tech said nothing to me but hello. I didn't really like my nails and contemplated on cutting them shorter and changing the nail color because the polish was polished on too thick and looked lumpy. I went and got a pedicure and was going to make the changes afterwards. When I asked to make the changes to my full set, I was told that Mercy was leaving. I asked if anyone else could do it, and was told yes. After waiting for 2 hours, I was told that everyone was booked and that no one could fix my nails. Mind you it was a quick fix and I had gotten my nails done that same day. My nail polish was too thick and nails were a little too long. My wedding was the following day and I wanted my nails to look good in my pics because the brides nails shows in all pics( holding my bouquet, ring oucs etc.) After crying and explaining that my wedding was the next day and that I didn't like my nails, the manager approached me to tell me that she could fix my nails after her last appt. She took my number and said that she would call me when she was done with her last appt. She also said that there would be an additional charge to fix them. The additional charge was absurd to me because I never left the salon and had literally just gotten my nails done so, I shouldn't have been charged an additional fee. Needless to say, the manager never called me. On the day of my wedding, I had to wake up early to get it fixed else where though I was pressed for time. It was a very distasteful experience and might I add the full set and pedicure cost me $95 and she wanted to charge me more to fix the horrible service that was provided to me? The customer service was horrible, the manager had customers on speaker phone while booking their appointments and they didn't seem to care about my situation. I will never come back to this salon to get my nails done. To have told the manager that I was getting married the next day and make me wait for two hrs then send me home and lie about fixing my nails? This place is not all it's cracked up to be. First of all, let me start by saying i've had my lashes done plenty of times at another place and paid more money and never had this issue. Here i am PISSED OFF, I'm about to go on vacation and i wanted to look good for my trip... what I thought was going to be a great experience was actually TERRIBLE! $160 DOWN THE DRAIN!!! To get quality lash extensions I didn't get. Heard about them through social media influencer Camila so i went there for the first time on Saturday for my first appointment that was at 12pm by Michelle. So i showed up 10 minutes early. Waiting and waiting.. she walked in 20 minutes late, she doesn't know what she was booked for and assumed without checking the clipboard where I signed to see what i was there for. She then almost tried to sit me down for nails, i told her i there for my lashes, and she got an attitude with me and asked if i filled the paper work out like i was supposed to know there was paperwork to fill out to begin with. Then cut to what is 3 hrs on the damn table with my back hurting! That's way too long! All of that to not even it being a whole week yet of my lashes being done & I literally have little to NO lashes on right now. I take care of my lashes! I did everything they listed of what not to do, so how in the hell are they falling out this quick! I feel liked they scammed to come back right away! first time coming and it was awesome. i've been stalking them online for about 3months and i finally made an appointment online (super easy and convenient) i got a phone call to see if i could come in early bc she was running ahead and it was actually better for me. i was greeted by the receptionist and was quickly introduced to my nail tech Mallory. we discussed my inspo and she suggested the ballerina shaped nails bc i have rather small hands so it would make them look longer. great conversation and made me feel super comfortable. my nails turned out great and everyone in the salon was eager to see them! i'm def coming back to see Mallory and to finally keep up with my nails!
