If you don't know what hairstyle you'd like the stylists are very good at selecting a hairstyle that matches your face shape (or they will go with your choice on hair magazine). I was very particular about the color because I have my hair up most the time as I am a preschool teacher. After 3 LONG hours getting the highlights and the cut I kept having to have her change some here and there so when I could wear it down it suited my needs. It wasn't exactly what I wanted..I had shown her pictures of the style and the way I wanted chunky highlights. I was so worn down and back hurt so bad at that time I just wanted to get out of there. The next day I put my hair up as usual to be surprised by how uneven she did the color! My left side was light and good; but, my right side was dark. Not wanting to step in the salon again I had to get my own color and dye brown into the highlights light myself. Now I need to figure out how to lighten up my right side! I don't know how to go about that directly. I also had to frame my face with shears so I could have some long bangs as shown to her. I'm not a hairdresser! I'm at a loss of what to do about this. I feel horrible and can't enjoy the over 3 hours of horrible pain and how long the whole process was. I guess I learned an expensive hard lesson..just because the salon may be good..the stylist may be horrible! He took the time to understand the style I wanted and recommended the type of perm that would be best for me. Since I came to the salon around 5 pm, there wasn't enough time to do both services that day. But thankfully Sam was able to fit me in for a weekend appointment. When I came back, Sam went over the perm design with me again to make sure we were on the same page. I was honestly worried about damaging my hair since I had just colored it a few days earlier, but Sam reassured me and explained everything throughout the process. He checked the condition of my hair frequently, and whenever I had questions, he explained what products he was using. That really showed his professionalism and put me at ease. The assistants were also very attentive and kept checking to make sure I was comfortable, which made the whole experience relaxing. The best part was the final result. Even when my hair was still wet after the wash, I already knew I loved it. As he dried my hair, Sam showed me how to style and dry it at home, so I could style it the same way myself. I absolutely love how my hair turned out. It looks exactly the way I wanted, and I'm so happy with the result.
