Amazing and fun place to spend a Sunday in Tucson! Great food, local restaurants and shopping! A great place to remember how nice it is to support local. The food at San Augustine restaurant was amazing. We also got coffees at Presta and walked around! Everything was clean, well kept and all staff was nice! Would recommend this for a nice weekend out in Tucson!

Outside ambiance was bustling and fun. Enough seating. Had steak and eggs (the tomato jam was sublime), breakfast plate and breakfast sandwich. Drinks were fresh squeezed Mimosa and chai. You had to order at counter and service was slow. One of our gals was done eating by the time the other two got theirs.

Mercado San Agustin District: A Vibrant Community Oasis @mercadodistricttucson Mercado San Agustin is more than just a market; it's the heart of a thriving community. While the market itself boasts a delightful collection of local shops and eateries, such as @la_estrellabakery and @agustinkitchen, the true charm lies in the surrounding neighborhood. A World Away from Suburbia The architecture here is a refreshing departure from the typical American suburbs. Here, houses are built with local materials and designed to foster interaction. Forget sprawling lawns and car-centric living; the Mercado District encourages walking, meeting your neighbors in plazas, and enjoying a true sense of community. Award-Winning Design The neighborhood itself is a marvel of design. Moule & Polyzoides Architects (@moule_polyzoides) have crafted a space that seamlessly blends traditional aesthetics with modern functionality. With eight blocks, seven plazas, and a stop on the Tucson streetcar line, the Mercado District is both beautiful and conveniently accessible, reminiscent of San Miguel de Allende. Many of the homes are tucked closely together, with inner courtyards filled with fountains and plants, or rooftop patios for watching a sunset. A Breath of Fresh Air If you're looking for a place that celebrates community, sustainability, and local character, then Mercado San Agustin is a must-visit. It's a place where you can ditch the car, embrace the outdoors, and connect with the vibrant energy of Tucson. Down the street you will find the MSA Annex. A series of shops, cafes and eateries serving local goods, all houses within repurposed shipping containers.

Breakfast has never sounded more delicious than with a concha perfectly paired with horchata. It's the best flavor combination!

A must place to visit in AZ. Great shops and eating. We went back the second day and tried the breakfast tacos. Stop by Petroglyphs for fun artwork and Mexican themed decor.

For something out of the ordinary you should visit this outdoor/indoor market with food, coffee, shopping, and socializing opportunities. Everything is locally owned and operated so is a great opportunity to support the Tucson community. It is somewhat convenient with good parking and a couple great spots to eat a full meal or just top in for pastries and coffee.

A must visit in downtown Tuscon, the Mercado San Agustin is a small but mighty mercado around a small outdoor courtyard in the old section of town now called the "Mercado District" by smart local relators. A couple of the better restaurants in town (Sei's Kitchen) are located here with outdoor dining, one of the best Mexican bakeries (panaderia staple La Estrella), a couple terrific boutiques with antiques (La Cabana) and local wears and one of the best coffee houses in town. Don't miss it. Small but worthwhile.

This is a must if you visit Tucson! The staff was amazing (Tanya helped us and was very knowledgeable on the menu), the outdoor dining was perfect and the food was fantastic. We came late in the evening on a Monday, so there wasn't much going on, but it wasn't too crowded and we got seated right away. The food and cocktails were on par and just what we were looking for. We couldn't have picked a better place for dinner with friends and we will for sure be back.

    Is it dog friendly?

Yes, lots of people have well behaved dogs there. I have seen metal water bowls out n a doggie drink fountain before; but that's not all the time.

There are customers line up at the self check-out, yet not a normal check out open. I ask a worker who is chatting with another worker if they are going to open a check-out, she looks at me as if I'm bothering her and says nope then goes back to chatting. Again, WTF? I've got a cart full and already put in my 8 hours for the day. Now they want me to do their job as well. Self checkouts weren't made for that. Originally they were made for the guy who has 2 items and didn't want to wait in the normal checkout. He could get out quickly. Now after 7 they want everyone to use them. Maybe if I got a discount, I would be more willing to self checkout but I'm paying full price. Like I said, I already put in 8 hours at my job, my job is hard physical work. I don't feel like doing their job too. What do you think? Are you ok working for Fry's for free after you worked all day? No other place makes you work when you go there, no restaurant makes you cook your own food, no doctors office make you do your own physical, no bar makes you pour your own beer or make your own drink. What does Fry's think they can make you work for free. I hope someone from corporate reads this and does what's right go back to the way they did it for years and years. Or I'll be driving a little farther to get the customer service that Fry's lacks. Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Albertsons corporate offices clearly have not spent much time in the stores judging by the decisions they make. For example. Today I did some light shopping but big enough to need a cart. When I go to check out there is only one cashier lane open (as usual, even though they need more) and the line was full of several people with large quantities in their cart. So I go to the self check even though it pains me knowing self check just means one more person without employment. Anyway they now have these massive bins holding sale items smack in the middle of the tiny self check square. Total nightmare! If you have a cart you are unable to pass to exit since other people are at a kiosk checking out and there's zero room between them and the sale bins. It is one big traffic jam and the poor employees are forced to move people around while they're trying to check out just to keep the line moving. There was so little space that I am fairly confident this is not ADA compliant. I truly think Albertsons corporate believes that only people with small items and no cart go to self check. If you only employ one cashier however, this is not the case. Especially on a busy weekend. I will never understand forcing your customers to be employees and not paying or even trusting them but that's a whole other topic. Every customer and every employee was frustrated and complaining about these stupid sale bins. It does not take a genius to know this was a bad idea. Remove the bins!

The spring rolls I got were okay but the dipping sauce is not what I expected which was a tangy sauce. Usually for spring rolls it's a peanut sauce. For sushi they have low sodium soy sauce available which is a plus. There is very limited seating at the store to sit down and eat so most likely you'll have to bring your food home.
