Customer service was poor. We went up to several of the displays where they had either samples or selling goods and we weren't greeted or asked if we were looking for anything. There was one older lady giving out samples of dehydrated fruit and she would only put out 1 sample of each option when we were letting our 2 kids try stuff. She wouldn't talk to us. If you are in Blue Ridge, I would suggest stopping by Mercier Orchards. I went during the Winter so apple picking was not available. There was a free apple tasting and non alcoholic cider tasting. I got to taste the Apple Butter and it was divine so I definitely bought a jar. There is a bakery with goods for sale, which I didn't try. I did however try their a wine and cider flight. It'll you are into sweeter wines like myself, the Mercier Wine flight (fall harvest apple, winter blackberry, spring strawberry, summer peach) is your go-to. If you are into drier, the vendor wine flight (Hugo, pearl, lake day, white sangria) is the flight for you minus the white sangria. I don't believe you can swap wines. The ciders weren't as sweet as I anticipated but worth trying. read more

Some of the fruits and fresh produce are great, theirs a tasting area for peaches. However their allot of tourist traps here, you'll think everything sold here is great but not so. Their apple cider donuts are ok, but some of their packaged stuff is a bit off. Their Manos pita chips are terrible, their goateats sweet potato chips are horrible, super salty, terrible, however their sour cream blueberry loaf is pretty good as well as their coconut pecan cookies , and I love their apple cider. This place is wonderful!! Our airbnb was located nearby and we decided to check it out, with no expectations. When we walked in, our minds were blown! It's huge! Like the size of a grocery store with a BIG bakery in the back. There were so many different things, from applesauce to bbq sauce to pickles to popcorn. Consider this my idea of heaven. On our trip to North Carolina to go white water rafting, well... it hit me just how close we were to Georgia. You see, it appears a half hour drive was all it took to cross the state line. As a result, I saw signs for this apple orchard on the road, not to mention that our Airbnb had a list of attractions and this was mentioned as well. As I'm a huge cider fan, I just had to go, and fortunately for me, my friends indulged me. We went post white water rafting and let me tell you I went with the idea of having cider after a hot day but also to look around and buy lots of apple goodies. Here's me, specifically thinking of apple cider donuts given the season. Imagine my surprise though at not only purchasing those but also a bread that ensnared me: the apple cinnamon bread. The smell of that bread, and later the taste the next morning, were enough to ensure me this was a great buy. Both these donuts and bread had different options in terms of purchasing. You could either get individual pieces at their bakery and eat there, or do as I did and buy boxes to take home. Now if you do the boxes, you can get them fresh for a few dollars more or get them slightly cheaper being I believe a day old. Either way, get ready for some wonderful sweets. Additionally to these donuts and bread, they had a case of other apple goodies like turnovers. I think the only thing that stopped me from getting more sweets was my limited stomach. That and honestly I tried their cider flight and fell in love with Old #3, which I happily brought home with me. 12 cans worth of it in fact. Oh, and then they have so many home goods that I'm a Halloween lover and bought some of their decor. Honestly this apple orchard is dangerous for my wallet. It may be a good thing it's a state over. We drove to Blue Ridge to specifically visit this place! The fried pies here are absolutely amazing. I recommend bringing them home and warming them up in the oven yourself. Theright there but sometimes but I like my pies hot! We grabbed a few different items within the store itself. The apple cider donuts were delicious. Totally recommend! The jerky is solid. Not the greatest but still pretty tasty. The cider is very good. We did the cider flights. The only part that was disappointing is last time we did the flight tasting they came in small cups. Mercier Orchards is a must-visit in Blue Ridge! The orchard is beautiful and offers breathtaking views of the mountains so I highly recommend the tractor tour ride of the orchard offered on the weekends. The twenty minute ride is only $5 per person (adults and children) and is quite informative and fun! Unfortunately, I wouldn't get your hopes up for the u-pick. This orchard gets over-picked by tourists. Before our trip, I read on the website that seasonal fruit is available for picking on the weekend so we planned for a visit Sunday morning. I verified that blackberries were in season on their Facebook and Instagram pages and was super excited to pick blackberries. Since Mercier Orchards frequently mentions "subject to availability" on their website and social media pages I decided to call the day before our visit. Sure enough, the staff sadly informed me that they had 400 visitors in an hour clear the blackberries from the orchard and there wouldn't be any blackberries to pick on Sunday. If you have your heart set on picking fruit I recommend calling the day before your visit and arriving a few minutes before they open or you will likely miss out. After our tractor ride we sampled fresh peaches and apple cider in the market, had lunch in the cafe, picked up hot apple fritters from the bakery and sampled several delicious flights of hard apple cider flights from the tasting room. The cafe is nothing special, but if you are looking to have breakfast or lunch at Mercier Orchards plan accordingly because the cafe is not open every day. read more

If you are looking for a quaint orchard and market, this is NOT it. It is huge. Most huge places that are packed seem to have terrible quality and worse service. This is the opposite here. We love the quality of their baked good, and flavored ciders. Blackberry and Peach are so good. We have been a couple times and this time they were out of some of the fried pies we wanted. For apples. The bakery offers fresh goods but nothing special or totally delicious that I would expect at a business like this. There goods, like jams, jellies, etc. all have labels that they are "made for" Mercier. So not certain the ingredients are totally from Merciers. I would think they'd put or highlight it came from Mercier's in Blue Ridge. An upgraded coffee shop would be appropriate and likely encourage more bakery purchases to accompany the coffee (even if just a standard pastry). read more

We went here in December to buy apples and some other fun stuff we can find. They're popular in the fall to go apple picking and wagon rides. December is a fairly slow time but we got what we went there for. They offered free samples of their non-alcoholic cider so we grabbed a few - the muscadine is super sweet but was refreshing. They also had a selection of fried pies, donuts. They even had half off items that didn't sell the day before. They also carried fresh produce and other novelty items. They take you on a tractor wagon ride to the orchard area where you pick. You could fill your container with one or the other or a mix of both! I am in LOVE! I am sure this is a very touristy place for people who aren't from Blue Ridge but honestly if I lived locally I feel like I would come here often. The views, the smiling faces, the ciders and pies. It's a win for me. The cider was delicious and great to sip on while we shopped for everything from desserts, honey, jams, ciders and wines all the way to home decor. My boys enjoyed it and it kept them busy for well around two hours. Decided to take wife to an apple orchard. Paid $15 to get shuttled on a tractor bus to the vast selection of apple trees! They give you a 1/2 lb bag for each person and you walk around picking apples! Can eat as much as you want picking. Workers were great and friendly and had a lot of knowledge of apples! The orchard was beautiful with the background of the mountains in the back! Place had plenty of parking! They do have closer parking by store if you don't wanna walk so far in the huge parking they have right when you pull in! They have a store with everything apple. Baked goods to drinks! A lot of walking here. Plenty of photo opportunities! Make sure to wear your beater shoes! If you have nice sneakers you love they will guarantee be dirty when your done picking! A lot of hilly and rocky terrain. And listen to instructions! Have a lot of foreigners that don't abide to rules or just don't listen. Certain apple sections are off limits depending on harvest or they're just not ready to pick. Had a few people in those sections picking and eating! Don't be that person!. Find a variety of honeys, teas, kitchen paraphernalia, kitchen pottery, and toys (I got a stuffed dinosaur for a friend's child). They are known for their apple cider donuts and fried pies made on-site. As usual, they had a wide variety of apples to suit your taste and they always taste amazing: sweet, tart or a little of both. They have an apple tasting booth and the guy recommended combining two different apples to make applesauce and it turned out fantastic! My favorite is Jalepeacho which has a sweet apple-peach taste with a little jalapeño kick at the end. Love it! Our family trip to the Blue Ridge Mountains would not be complete without a visit to one of our favorite places, Mercier Orchard. I do recommend visiting the 300 acre family owned orchard. You will definitely be treated like part of the family. The pastries and fried pies are amazing but, we love to go for breakfast. Unfortunately the cafe was closed when we visited but there is still a small section in the bakery area that offers seating. The simple breakfast menu includes the Donut Breakfast Sandwich and an Apple Fritter French Toast. The rustic, yet modern style county store and farmhouse market is chock-full of a wide variety of fruit products and much more. You name it and it is probably there. It has huge selection of gifts and keepsakes. There is definitely something for everybody. The decor is esthetically impressive, enticing and yet comforting. Check out the antique automobile transformed into the beautiful product display stand. The establishment is not without its staff and they will always seem to take the time for some laidback conversation. Service is excellent and the options are available. Certain times throughout the season, you can take a ride on the tractor-drawn wagon out to the field to harvest your own produce. The kids absolutely adore this adventure. They have samples of all their apples, but, they lose a star because we got there around 420, they close at 5 and nowhere in the store does it say they stop their wine and cider tastings at 4:45 so we looked all around the store and tried some apples and got some stuff and then before leaving I went to try the cider and someone said they're closed but the wine sampling is open, ok, I went to the other side if the store but the wine side was kind of blocked off the easy access so I had to go around through the wine store to get to it and she said we stop doing samples 15 minutes before closing and it was exactly 4:45 because of some Georgia law so I was bummed about that because I was there and had I known I would have done that sampling first. My boss brought us back some apple cider donuts from this orchard after visiting. They were very good! She's from New York and says these donuts are comparable to the famous ones in the northeast.
