    The Apothecary!

This place is a hidden gem. It's hard to describe it, locally made everything from soaps, tinctures, lotions, spices, teas, gorgeous produce and a wonderful little cafe. The folks there are super friendly and helpful. Relaxing environment, it's almost its own destination.

Absolutely wonderful place! I visited with some friends last summer. We were rafting on the Ocoee River and overheard someone talking about the "best peach pie". After asking where we could find this pie, we ended up here. It was so much more than I could've expected. I loved perusing the apothecary, and I absolutely loved the coffee and baked goods. No seed oils! It was wonderful.

My family and I had so much fun shopping here! We also sat down and enjoyed lunch and played some cards. All of the staff were super knowledgeable and friendly. The environment is very welcoming. It was a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon.

a shop with a variety of items

We tried the "big box" fried pies and then we tried the BEST fried/hand pies. The chicken melt is a MUST!! Holy moly...so good. The blueberry and peach sweet pies were to die for. Washing it down with an excellent cup of coffee was icing on the fried pie. The atmosphere is eclectic and you could spend hours checking everything out. Highly recommend.

Wife was a Kid in a candy store with this place, bought quite a few items for back home. Wish we had this place back in Tampa, will be ordering from online though!

Folk Apothics is a very unique shop. If you are looking to learn a little more about Appalachian Folk remedies, essential oils, and maybe take a yoga class this is the place for you. As you step into this shop you will appreciate the immediate pleasing sensorial experience. The displayed wares are visually stunning and the smells are fabulously pleasing. The only thing I would add is a brief description on suggested uses for various goods and/or a section with informational literature for introverts such as myself. Overall, shopping here was a very enjoyable experience.

The amazingly cute logo! (The have stickers, you may need one or seven!)

Food and drink were imaginative and tasty, served in a unique folksy setting. I will be returning and bringing friends and family.

As a South Florida native who is obsessed with Cuban food, I had read the reviews beforehand and was really hoping they would live up to the hype and thankfully, they absolutely did. Walking into this place felt like a little piece of home while on vacation. The fresh pastelitos, tostadas, house-made rum cake, and a cafecito were exactly what I didn't know I needed that day. Everything is made in-house, and you can taste the care and authenticity in every bite. Finding such great Cuban food in another state truly felt like the cherry on top of the trip. Aesthetically, the space is full of Cuban pride. The walls share the story of how the Rum Cake Lady came to exist, and it's genuinely beautiful to read about the journey behind the business while you're there enjoying the food. What stood out to me the most was how busy the place was long lines and lots of traction yet the staff remained friendly, welcoming, and attentive throughout it all. That kind of hospitality makes a big impression. Thankfully, after a quick search, I discovered there's another Rum Cake Lady Cuban Café location not too far from the cabin we were staying at in Blue Ridge. Of course, we had to go back this time for dinner ordering the classic media noche! If you're visiting the area and craving something authentic and full of flavor, this place is a must. I'm really hoping they continue to expand, because what they've created is truly special.

The croissants have tasted dry both times as if they are a few days old, if you bring it home and put it in the microwave for 10 seconds it tastes better, but not what I would expect from a bakery Over all the facilities look clean and well kept, the people who run the bakery are passionate & it had a good ambience!

Good thing, too. We were about to try a few things that she steered us clear of. We ended up ordering: Cheesy bagel with cream cheese Everything bagel Chocolate croissant Ham and cheese danish Pumpkin chocolate almond croissant 2 iced coffees Some notes: -She heated up all of the items for us, which was tasty and delicious. -Coffee was good. Oat milk or half and half were available. -No plastic knives for the cream cheese. We used wooden coffee stirrers which was fine but clumsy to navigate. -Not sure why reviews are so bad for bagels because they were fluffy with just the right amount of chew (close to NY style). I will say that after it being toasted, the bagel was not soft enough the day after to eat. But day-of, it was great. -Small seating area typical of little cafes. A few outdoor tables as well. -Very friendly service. Accommodating and welcoming to our child circus -the cheesy bagel isn't the typical Asiago most places carry, but an actual cheddar blend. Yummy.
