We started our breakfast with a hot Wildflower Mocha and a Mocha Latte. The Mocha Latte was outstanding....rich, smooth, and perfectly balanced. I wanted to try their pancakes but didn't want a full stack, and our server Robin was wonderful in recommending the Sweet Start. One thing we really appreciated is that all breakfast entrees include coffee or tea, and the prices are already very reasonable. We were also pleasantly surprised to learn that even though we ordered specialty coffees, we could still enjoy complimentary refills of regular coffee. The restaurant has a charming and unique atmosphere, with every table looking a little different from the next. For my meal, I ordered the Sweet Start, which included one pancake, eggs, and bacon. I also appreciated the transparency from the staff. When I asked for an extra serving of their homemade pecan butter, I was informed upfront that there would be an additional charge....a level of honesty that's surprisingly rare these days. My husband ordered the Banana Nut French Toast comes with homemade whipped cream and homemade pecan butter, which also came with bacon. He added a side of eggs as well. Everything was delicious. I'm especially particular about pancakes, and I can honestly say they serve some of the best pancakes I've had. The food was excellent, the service was friendly and attentive, and what stood out most was how genuinely happy all the staff seemed to be. Staff are super friendly. This place is always packed, but the wait has never been terribly long. Not many lunch options for a vegetarian. Their choice and their right. We perused what items we could eat - yikes if only they offered black bean patties as a substitute. We then checked their health department ratings (available on their Yelp page) and decided not to eat there. Right from the start the staff was attentive and greeting us. Due to the popularity of The Sawmill Place, we had a wait but the wait was short. Crafted custom iced coffee was ordered and delivered directly from the barista. We ordered the Hot Honey & Pimento Cheese Fried Chicken Biscuit and the Brisket Hash. Absolutely delicious! The grits were the best. I don't eat grits because it's a texture thing but my husband talked me into it. They were so creamy and flavorful. I think you turned me into someone that will eat them again. The brisket hash was so good and the Certified Angus Beef was absolutely flavorful. This is a great breakfast place! There was a long wait which was the only downside to this place. However we had a large group so they did tell us it would be a little bit. There is a coffee bar and little shop to occupy your time. The porch was nice with chairs, although it was pretty chilly outside. The food was delicious and huge portions. If you like grits, this is the place for them!! They were some of the best grits I have ever tasted. The pancakes are massive and would recommend kids splitting the kids portions. I also appreciated the price for the kids meals. They were so reasonable compared to what most restaurants charge. The staff were very friendly. Absolutely LOVE Sawmill! My family and I always make it here when we are at our cabin. The food is always spot on and service is incredible. I got the Hot Honey Chicken Biscuit which was delicious! Coffee is always refilled right away for those who love coffee. If you don't like coffee, don't worry they have amazing FRESH orange juice. They also have a cool gift shop next door if you're looking for a local homemade gift for a friend or loved one! Definitely worth the wait! First meal in Blairsville and this one had the highest rating. I was hoping for southern fried chicken. I was disappointed with the menu. So I ordered 2nd best chicken tenders. What I found out was I have never eaten fresh chicken tenders. It was delicious. My two sides were broccoli cheese and collard greens. For the price, it was good for $13. I've had better, and I like to think that I'm quite the critic and know what I'm looking for in a Chicken Fried Steak. Their CFS is good, but I've had better elsewhere. But like I said, for the price.. you can't beat it since most places that we go to in TX are around $16-$18 without coffee. My in laws live just outside of town, and they have been raving about this place for as long as they have been going here every Tuesday with a couple of their friends, o we knew when we drove up to visit, that this would be on our itinerary. This is a wonderful place. I don't know if it was really an old sawmill or not but it sure gives you the idea of country kitchen. Everything on the menu is reasonably priced and everyone enjoyed it. Make sure you get a glass of sweet tea. it has a little market with some specialty items and the service is incredible. Very very friendly country style. The menu is great, as well as the food, as is the pricing--which seems to be stuck in a time past--which is awesome. This place is what the Cracker Barrel use to be, but more so. Waitress was very personable and promptly took our drink orders and described/recommended a few menu items. Ordered beef brisket pot pie and brunch biscuits/gravy platter (which is much more unique and unusual and delicious than the name implies.) We were looking for a good biscuit and pancakes while in the area, and our friends recommended Sawmill. We stopped in for a late breakfast and they were quite busy. We were told there would be a 20 minute wait, but they turned the tables quickly. We had a table in about 15 minutes. Our service was great the whole time we were there. My girlfriend ordered a basic breakfast with eggs, sausage, biscuit, gravy, and a pancake. I wanted a biscuit sandwich with bacon, egg, and cheese. Our food came out quickly and it looked good. The biscuit sandwich hit the spot. My girlfriend enjoyed her breakfast as well. She did mention the sausage was a bit overcooked. Otherwise, everything was great. The food is eatable, not the kind you crave to have again, not sure if these are the same owners or they just run on popularity. The service and the people there are some of the best, friendly, polite, always wanting to please, but the food not so much. The pancakes are chewy, not tasty at all, who screws up pancakes? If you order scrambled eggs they are hard, chewy not moist and tender, who screws up scrambled eggs?, the hash brown are barely tolerable, everything else is just mehhh. Ambience is noisy but homey, one thing, they are much better than Hole in the wall but that place is horrible so that's not saying much. I came from Arizona, First Watch would kill all of these places if they opened up a real breakfast place, everything there was delicious and the pancakes to die for.
