The pharmacist said he wouldn't even give it to his toddler but yet this provider prescribed it to my six month old baby. The pharmacist called the office only for it to be closed. The pharmacist was my angel and my saving grace. He had to re-calculate dosage based on her height and weight. Something that the provider should have done. Instead, I waited at the pharmacy with a screaming baby. I went to this urgent care because original pediatric urgent care was closed, at this rate I'd rather take my daughter to the ER and pay a higher deductible than risk an incorrect medication ever again.

I went in with a sore throat, sinus drainage and runny nose, for me these are usually signs of an allergic reaction to pollen or animals and usually result in eventually developing a sinus infection and bronchitis in left untreated and I have to miss work, but if I get a zpak or something it typically doesnt go that far. They did test me for strep, negative, but refused to prescribe anything because they were not sure what it was and said that if it were a virus an antibiotic would be like taking a sugar pill and that it was probably a virus and my body just needed time to fight it, not taking into account the many times i have been through this before and that Im 3 days in with no fever or nausea (doesnt sound like a virus) but even if it were they said they couldn't tell and instead of prescribing an antibiotic (the 'sugar pill') just in case, so I dont potentially develop an infection and miss work, they just sent me home telling me to buy some sudifedrine and musinex and see what happens in 3-4 days. My wife called the VA nurse and she prescribed an antibiotic for me. On a previous visit to the same Urgent Care in Ada my wife had all the signs of a UTI and was miserable, they tested her and later that day called and said her results were negative for a UTI and that they could not prescribe anything for her symptoms. Later that day we were in Dallas and went to a clinic, my wife tested positive for a UTI and was able to get medicine and start taking it. 3 days later the same Urgent Care in Ada called her to let her know that they had received further test results showing that she was positive for a UTI...

My daughter had a fever (day 5) and was not at her normal baseline. She was tested for COVID and flu. Both resulted as negative. We were told it was a virus and that was it. No directions on follow up if things get worse from the appointment or what over the counter meds to take. The mid-level provider just told us we were free to go. I was very disappointed. One week later, my daughter was still ill and I had her follow up with her pediatrician. Her pediatrician did a respiratory culture and ordered a chest x-ray. We found out my daughter tested positive for mycoplasma pneumonia and the chest x-ray confirmed. She was finally prescribed antibiotics since it was a bacterial infection.
