I was looking forward to meeting the crew for Meridian Center Electric. They seemed well equipped when they arrived but weren't completely prepared for the simple job I hired them to do. I was in the electrical trades for over a decade & surprised by the end results. The manager was responsive when contacted about about the problems we had so that was a plus. There seemed to be a communication issue about what was actually needed. They did nice work but I had to finish it since they didn't have all the materials needed. Give them a try if you need electrical work done but make sure the expectations are clear so you get what you need. read more

Our aged condominium had twenty-eight units that still had the old Zinsco electrical panels and per our insurance company it was upgrade them or get our insurance dropped. We interviewed four companies and MCE ended up being the one we went with. They were not the lowest bid, but their understanding of our scope and their not piling on unreasonable demands (which equated to us being charged an amount significantly above just the panel replacement cost quoted by a different company) got them the nod. I can tell you during this process dealing with Will who bid the project and coordinated inspections / the MCE team, to Jim and Cole (the two electricians assigned to do the work) - this project went very, VERY smoothly. I had more trouble coordinating the 28 owners than anything MCE brought to the table. Jim was the consummate professional with not only each resident, but with me (the project manager). I got daily statuses from him about the work they'd done, insights into dealing with the city inspector, and a wrap up on the inspections after they occurred. I really appreciated he went above and beyond with some of our owners issues with their electrical within their units - which made my life so much easier! We've made MCE our preferred electrical contractor should residents ask for a recommendation and we'd highly recommend giving them a shot a providing a bid or doing work for your residential or commercial property. read more

MCE is by far one of the worst electrical companies I had to deal with, in now the 3rd home we've built. Being responsible for all electrical in our new home they did extremely poor on installation. None of the light switches installed in our house were flush or properly mounted so we raised this as a quality issue with our builder. As they had to remove every wall plate to begin with to remount each of our Lutron Caseta dimmer switches properly, their management refused to OK that their installers screwed on the Lutron Claro screwless wallplates (which we had ready and unpacked) instead of the existing screwed wall plates they just took down. Needless to say that upon their work completion I removed all the screwed wall plates again to install the screwless wall plates. I could have actually saved them time by letting them keep the existing screwed wall plates off, which they were again .. not allowed to do. We also contracted them to install a chandelier in our 20 ft ceiling and ended up paying over $300 for the installation because their own electricians couldn't figure out what their previous electricians had done with the wiring. It took them and additional 1.5 hours to figure out, and they damaged our staircase with the ladder they needed for this installation. I also had to replace a few light bulbs as they were never tested by MCE to be compatible with the Lutron Caseta dimmers as they would occasionally cause flickering or blinking. Our electrical panel isn't labeled right, so it took me a while to relabel, review the electrical plan to know which outlet or switch sits on what circuit. Upon review of our microwave, they also had to replace a circuit breaker to meet capacity, as occasionally the breaker tripped. As we continue to have expansion plans (electrical, additional lights, car charging, jacuzzi etc...), needless to say that I will no longer contract MCE for any of this work. While the 2 gentlemen we had out today did a tremendous job, their management doesn't have the basic understanding of customer service or customer satisfaction and should revise their processes on how they deal with customers after having done a really poor job upon the initial installation. Even for any future warranty related issues, MCE will no longer be welcome to our house, and I rather spend money on a company that understands the basic of customer care and provides a degree of professionalism that would match what home owners are looking for. Our builder's customer service did a really great job trying to negotiate and find a solution for the issues we had, but the stubbornness of the MCE management is beyond belief when it comes to doing what is right, or make right what they messed up in the first place. read more

We got a great estimate from MCE to replace an old unsafe panel with two new panels and small panel in basement and extending power to our shed. The work team was very efficient, friendly and courteous. My husband will talk the ear off of a wrong number, the workers continued to work while he talked on - I was worried they would charge I us extra for that!! They did excellent work at a very fair price. We will use them again for some troubleshooting other areas of our electrical, we bought the house a year ago - glad they are local! read more

The builder of our new-build home used Meridian and has referred us to them for fixing problems. They've been to our house multiple times for lights continuing to go out in the same general areas (LED lighting should last longer than I'll be alive), internet is impossible to get full potential because somewhere wiring is touching or close to one another or grounding - I don't even know but they continue to say it's just the way it is and give us a ton of new light bulbs while saying there is nothing wrong with wiring. Well we just had another electrician confirm that it's lazy work that they must've been in a hurry and wired directly vs. breaker box because we can't even find a breaker that works on the lighting that is out. It's crazy for a new build to require another electrician to now have to get inside the wall, pull the breaker box out and repair their work. It is not cheap and we will be contacting L&I to get another inspection as this should not have been approved to begin with - shoddy work and they won't own up to it. read more

Used MCE to furnish and install wiring to a hot tub and swim spa including disconnects for both. They also furnished and installed a 20 amp circuit to the backyard from the main panel. From Cheyanne and Tracey, production coordinators, to Will, estimator, and Kenny and Conner who did the wiring, these people are a class act. Suggested some design changes that made total sense, kept me informed about what was going on, helped me navigate state inspection, and did excellent work. I had MCE install a Generac back-up generator for our home in 2012. If was a big purchase but worthwhile, especially during prolonged power outages during the winter. Every year, we had them service it to ensure solid operation - despite their high service costs ($350+ for an oil change...) Recently, the generator started having issues and wouldn't idle. MCE diagnosed that we didn't have enough gas pressure (water columns) to power the generator. I had to have PSE install a larger pipe/meter for $6k... It turns out, it was an issue with the stepper motor and nothing to do with the gas pressure. Obviously, I was angry and felt like I wasted $$s. I emailed the president of MCE and expressed my displeasure - and didn't even hear back. Good bye MCE - I won't be sending any business your way. read more

I've used MCE on 2 new construction projects in Ollala and Gig Harbor and they did a great job on both - that passed County Inspection the first time. I don't get the negative reviews on Yelp! but I'll update this in a few weeks as I'm now using them on a MIL unit remodeling job rerouting the electrical for washer/dryer and stove hook ups. read more

My parents were local builders and used MCE for all of their new construction homes for something like 20 years. I worked for my parents growing up, so I got to work with several of the MCE crews over the years. I recently purchased a home (in August) in need of a full rewire, MCE was the obvious choice. The home is full of knob & tube and a mix of other random wiring, so they rewired 100% of the house and added a bunch of extras (can lights, breakers, new panel, etc). They worked very hard, were a pleasure to work with, and were very fair on pricing. They also helped me save money by talking me out of ideas that I had which were not necessary---I greatly respect companies that save me money. Regarding some of the past negative comments from other users: I personally did not have any difficulty getting in touch with MCE representatives. They were extremely busy and informed me of that when I was getting on their schedule. The schedule was out about 5 weeks but they were able to bump me up a week. Home building has been extremely busy the past few years so contactors are busy and its tough to get the good ones. To say MCE doesn't work with homeowners is false, you may just need to wait your turn. Put it this way, would you go to a restaurant that was empty on a Friday night? I wouldn't because the food is probably terrible. Same thing here, I wanted to get my house rewired sooner because my lease was up and I needed to move into the home quickly, but MCE was 5 weeks out...They were worth the wait and I would wait for them again. read more

Purchased a brand new home in 2016. Meridian Center Electric was the contractor. I have had 3 issues after the one year warranty expired. All had to do with circuit breakers popping. The first two the company only charge me part for the replacement of the breaker which was acceptable and reasonable.The 3rd time I was charge for labor and parts to fix this issue. Despite the warranty expiring after a year. No new home purchaser should be dealing with electrical issues like this. I will not use this company for any work on my home again and I would not recommend them to anyone. read more

I have used MCE for electrical work at my home several times and have been pleased. They have always been professional and respectful while working in and around my home. They are a reputable company that I have had experience with both in the past through my Dad who was the owner of a construction company and used them to wire new homes and now as a homeowner myself needing electrical work done at my own residence. I have personally used them to install additional outlets, install additional light fixtures, repair a malfunctioning light fixture, re-wire a transfer box for a generator, and to add a photocell to my outdoor lights. They wired my new home through the builder Belmark Construction that gives a 10 month warranty. I lost half the plugs in my Kitchen and Island due to a open neutral wire. They came out and corrected thier work and tightened a connection for $135.87 lets hope the big power wires were tighter than the kitchen wire. I don't see how a wire on a outlet left loose is my fault but I was told that it happens? My wife works for Valley Electric and I work for Allpoints Heating and Fireplace beware of bad contractors folks! read more
