What a disaster! I called Reinhart based upon a recommendation from the realtor when I moved in. The job was to install two new plugs in a closet (about a 1-hour job) and to replace a bathroom fan. The fan should have taken about 1/2 hour to remove, 1/2 hour to cut the new template, and 1/2 hour to install the new fan. As it turns out, the fan I had required an adapter to fit the existing duct, so add another 1/2 hour to go 1 mile to the local hardware store. Total of about 3 hours. But, Nooooo, they are too smart to use a template and so they just cut the ceiling, then cut some more, then cut some more. All to try to make the fan unit fit into the ever-increasing hole in the ceiling. Of course, if they would have actually read the instructions, it tells you that the fan unit has to be taken apart in order to install it. Gee, once we took it apart, whaddya know, the installation only took about 30 minutes. Go figure. They also had two workers there, and are very happy to charge for it, even though only one is actually doing anything at a given time. Now I can tell you, they are going to say they read the instructions...baloney. I read the instructions and told them what to do. They're also going to blame the unit for not fitting. Well, yeah, it doesn't fit if you don' follow the instructions. Then it magically fits once SOMEONE reads the instructions! And they will blame me for buying a fan that has a different duct size. I allowed time for buying an adapter. Oh, interestingly, Dave told me that sealing the duct with regular duct tape is not durable (only lasts a couple of years), yet the next day found that he didn't have any of the silver duct tape, so just used regular duct tape. The drywall guy they referred me to did a great job. Of course, he first had to cut the hole in the ceiling even larger, since Reinhart had not only failed to use the template, but also failed to cut the hole square. Of course, the drywall guy probably gets a lot of practice repairing holes after Reinhart is done... Reinhart is quick to recommend him (and probably has him on his speed dial). This is the only time I've ever had to get a drywall guy in after an electrician was done. What a fiasco! read more

Good tidings We went to Yelp to find an electrician in our area. Lots of choices, where does one start ? Obviously with reviews ........ After comparing reviews through Yelp and then a check of the BBB.org site, we landed upon the good folks at Reinhart Electric. Our home was built while Eisenhower was president. ( remember him ? ) As such, our electrical panel was quite dated. We contacted Reinhart Electric to replace an old breaker that was tripping regularly ( usually when it was required to pass electricity through it). Travis and Pearson arrived and replaced it for us with no issues. They also, per our request, provided us with a quotation to replace our old breaker panel ( box) with a current, up-to-code breaker panel. Even suggesting that we attain multiple bids. We met some very nice people with each of the three bids attained, but decided to stick with Reinhart Electric for this project. ( to note, their quote though very competitive was not the lowest bid) On July 8th, ( one of the hottest of summer) they spent the day working within the torridly oppressive temperatures of our garage as well as some time in our heat-of-Hades attic. Not a complaint or harsh word was heard. They were focused on completing the job as quickly as possible. ( as we had many an idle fan in our house gasping for electricity ) The team from Reinhart explained every step of the process and patiently responded to all of our questions. They were friendly, courteous and very respectful of our property. Afterwards they arranged for our city inspection for the permit sign off. Basically, all that was required of us was to write the check, Reinhart Electric took care of everything else. Our confidence in Reinhart Electric is boundless. Their service rates are honest and fair, providing excellent work at a reasonable cost. If we were asked to summarize Reinhart Electric in just one word it would have to be: Integrity. Not based on actual work. Needed professional advice and an estimate for installing a home charger, still unsure if an EV is in my future. Dave was not only super responsive but gave a through and specific quote for what I had guessed would be a more challenging install. Also his initial estimate seemed fair and competitive. Based on that experience I know where I am going to get electric work and advice in the future. I did not receive an invoice for work completed at a rental property I manage and was threatened by the "account manager" Laurie when she called. Due to the fact that I run a business dealing with sometimes 5 vendors a day, I do not chase down vendors for invoices, you must provide one to get paid. I attempted to ascertain all the info necessary to help Laurie when she called but she was on the attack almost immediately and was the most unprofessional person I have ever dealt with in my career. Dave started off great. I contacted him about installing a 220v outlet for an air compressor in the garage and installing some shop lighting. When Dave realized I hadn't purchased the air compressor yet he told me to get the air compressor and contact him once I had it. He quoted me $370 to wire the 220v outlet and the appropriate cord on the air compressor. 2 weeks later I had the air compressor and I contacted Dave, he told me he had gotten busy over that time and the new price was $415. I told Dave I'd find someone else and he told me "I told you 370 2 months ago. Good luck," but i first contacted him on March 31. Dont take this man at his word. He won't do what he says he's going to do and will not stand behind his word. read more

Disappointed with service from Dave. Dave was unable to install either of my lights, He made very little effort and just gave up. Dave kept taking calls from his associate while he was working for me. Dave was at my house less than an hour, and kept saying he had another job to get to. I had some wires that were severed that I needed reattached, Dave said he didn't have time for that , So my fiance who is not a Electrician reattached them later. Dave seemed really Irritated and bothered. Dave charged me less than his $200 show up fee, But I was still very disappointed and would not recommend him. read more

I just bought house and it didn't have GFCI outlets but the sellers had a handyman come install them. Well, the handyman had botched the installation and power went out in several parts of my house. I wasn't able to figure out who the prior handyman was so I sought out an electrician. Dave was very understanding and was able to fit me into his schedule within a few days of my call. He showed up on time and was able to fix the botched GFCI wiring as well as look at a few other issues, he even was able to point out an issue that the inspector did not catch before the purchase. The price was about what I expect for an electrician in the area. My boyfriend was present as I was at work during the appointment and he mentioned Dave was fun to chat with as well and seemed knowledgeable, experienced, and honest, which can be a rare find when it comes to home repair. read more

Please do not contact Reinhart Electric & Service regarding any electrical issues you are having. It is worth it to pay more to a professional electrical service than contacting this dishonest company. Also, we are going to report this dishonest company to BBB and sue them in small claims court. This case is pending. I hope someone can remove this insane business from our neighborhood. A technician came to our house for less than 30 minutes to fix a wiring issue. Because he couldn't find the problem and he needed to leave, he told me he would return in a day or two. Eleven days later he contacted me because he was taking care of more important customer (more money). I refused to let him to come back and told them I would pay for a half-hour of services that he spent at our house. His boss (the owner) Dave called me, threating me that if I didn't pay him the full amount of the estimate, he would come to our house, kick the door down, and grab and shake me until I pay him everything I owe. We received a bill from Laurie B, the account manager, for 2 hours of services and parts that the tech supposedly spent at our house. We were forced to pay the bill for the services that we did not receive because Reinhart Electric & Service was going to put a lien on our house. The wiring problem hasn't been fixed and we are planning to contact a professional electric service to repair our wiring. read more

I was closing on my home and needed a few electrical items completed. I needed a GFCI outlet installed in my crawl space, a open splice terminated in a junction box and a wire fixed in the electrical panel. I needed the work done quickly and I was only able to get two bids although I probably called at least 10 different companies. The issue with the others is they did not answer and did not call back or they play that stupid game of "I don't know, I need to go see it first" than charge $200 just to go look. I chose Reinhart for a few reasons, first was the customer service. I spoke to Dave Reinhart and he was very knowledgeable, honest and his bid was lower than the other company. I told him what I needed completed and he knew what I was talking about. Dave did not play games on the phone. Reinhart was able to get the work done quickly and provide an estimate the same day I called. I would highly recommend them for any electrical work. read more

I Would highly recommend NOT using Reinhart Electric. I have used them 3 separate times, one of which should have been the last time. The first time they came out, was to change a wall-heater (baseboard). They came out and re-wired two of the thermostat's and everything worked again! It was awesome. They were there a total of 25 minutes and charged $217.50. Oh well, I understand their hourly rate. The second time they came out was a little more tricky. When they were there the first time, they didn't screw in one of the thermostats into the baseboard heating and so it wasn't working, so I asked them to come out again (thinking it would be covered by the last fix since it was the same baseboard heater). It wasn't, and they asked for ANOTHER $217.50. Hmmmmm... The older gentleman brought along a younger man with him that he was supervising, so I figured they were billing me for both of their time. Next was the biggest mess-up. They came to a bigger project in Kent. There were a few GFCI outlets that were mis-wired. I got to the house at 8:30 and nobody was there (their stated time). I left, and they claim to have came around 8:45 but started charging me from 8:30am (lie). The older man was supervising the younger man while he was doing the list of 6 items that needed fixing, but they still billed me for BOTH guys for 4 hours. Only ONE OF THEM WAS ACTUALLY WORKING! Their contractor rate of $90.50 is what they charged me. I got back to the house at 12:15 and nobody was there. They claimed to have left, went to Jack in the Box, then drove to Mclendon. If they are going to charge you a 30% markup on supplies, shouldn't that be for supplies that they already have on hand (inventory carrying costs?); instead, they billed me for both of their hourly rates to go get lunch, go to mclendon and come back to the property. That's not time they were actually WORKING on the house, but they claim that they were "there" until 12:30 even though it couldn't have been more than 3.25 hours. However, they say that if they even work 1 minute into the next hour, they will charge you for the full hour, for both guys ($180.50). I work with contractors all the time and this is the first time that I've ran into an issue with overcharging with no justification. If only one employee is working and the other is supervising him, it's not my expense to pay for both of them. I pay for the person who actually does the work on the house!! read more

Reinhart electric spent no more than 1 1/2 hours on my job and charged me 700.00 I think they were charging me for two guys, but the second guy was his son who looked to be high school age, he moved very slowly and seemed to wish he could be anywhere but where he was. I was speechless,, not just unhappy with the charge but they also charged extra for the gas they used to come to my house. The fan has been dripping condensation onto the bathroom floor, when I called the co. I was told that the one year warranty was up and suggested ways I could fix it myself because if they come out its going to be expensive. I wonder if they would also charge me for gas again. read more

What a joke. I asked this man if he could replace a thermostat and fix a light outside the front of our home. Seemingly basic work for an electrician. He took the old thermostat off the wall and put the new one on the wall- about 8 minutes of work literally. Then said he couldn't actually get the new one up and running because it was a 'smart thermostat' and he didn't know how to proceed. Its 2018, you're job no?!?! ( I later called the 800 number on the new one and found out in 5 minutes what had to happen which was have and additional C-wire simply dropped down directly to the furnace. I know nothing about this stuff and was able to find that out). Then he tinkers with the front light for about 10-15 minutes with his 'assistant' who I find out is his son from both observation and inquiry and was appalled the way he talked to him at times. He basically says 'yeah I don't know what's wrong with it. Its not the inside switch but it doesn't look that old. Did you try a new bulb? (ugh,, yes. yes we did that first). 'Id have to some testing to find out whats wrong but I don't have time for that today'. Are you f-ing kidding me?? Lastly, 0 for 2, I say ok ' one last thing, we want to replace the current light at the top of the entry way with a new one. That won't be hard..right?? He says, I don't have a ladder that will reach. I then say he can use our ladder which will reach and he says he doesn't trust using it. Its a brand new ladder that we've had for 2 months and second, then why wouldn't you bring a ladder to a job? He then says 'well the hours just about up so unless you want to do pay for another hour we will pack up'. He said its $200. So we paid $200 to have our old light, a still broken one out front,and now no thermostat. I don't even know how's he licensed!! They suck and hope everyone reads this! read more

Had Reinhart Electric out today to find a loss of power and fix. Dave and his associate called when they were on the way. When they arrived I told them which plugs weren't working. Told him what I had checked. Dave asked to see my electric panel. He noticed a switch in my transfer panel had been bumped from main to generator. He moved it back to main and everything works perfect. Took 5 minutes because he really knows his stuff. Cost the 1 hour minimum but a less knowledgeable electrician could have taken hours. I called them to give me a bid for some new wiring. An older man and a man probably in his 30s arrived. The younger man was extremely abrasive and unprofessional. He seemed not to want to do anything but tell me that I was going to have issues with my condo association, how impractical the job is, etc. I already have board approval for the job. I'm also not a stupid man and I don't appreciate being "preached to" as if I'm an imbecile. I will not hire them simply because I found his behavior to be inappropriate and unprofessional. read more
