Easier when writing a review. We have 2 nurseries in my area. Maddie's and Edward's. Edwards is MASSSIVVVE. I mean, MASSIVE! It's better than any Home Depot or Lowe's nursery tho. Always buy from real nurseries. Edwards review will be coming after this one. Maddie's! Man, what a fantastic little place. I'm so glad we finally decided to go. Last year we painted our house black. So we, after all these years, decided to put a lot of work into our front gardens. I have personally always enjoyed rose gardens. Had one in Phoenix that was absolutely incredible. I managed to keep them unbelievably beautiful...even in that super dry, DEPRESSINGLY hot environment lol. I had a rose "garden" briefly here at this house. Sadly, I didn't tend to it the way I should have. Anyway! This year...started a new one. Bought 3 rose bushes from Maddie's and 5 from Edward's. The 3 from Maddie's: the "Marilyn Monroe (pics should be included. I believe I attached some) The Pope John Paul II (we needed a pure white rose up against a black background. STUNNING roses! Marilyn is next level stunning, too) 3rd one we got was a a Mr Lincoln. We got him a a few weeks. No buds yet, but we have new life on it and we are super excited to see what comes in a few weeks. Maddie's is a place you can tell where they take VERY great care of their plants. It's much smaller than Edward's. So it's almost like they could do a "one to one" type of thing. Not actually do that, but hopefully you get what I mean by that. It's kind of a bougie place too. That makes me happy. I see that and think....quality ass plants. That's exactly what they have too. The staff is absolutely INCREDIBLE. Some of the younger ones who don't know much about this plant or that one tho...should always refer customers to someone who knows the answers. I say that bc yesterday we asked a girl about care for the roses. With the heat jump last week, the roses weren't happy with that. Anyway, very nice girl was talking to us. Told us this and that and then we saw the manager and said "would she know?" The girl said..."oh she'd absolutely know" Hmm, ok, so we both thought...she probably should have referred us to her to begin with vs telling us to come back to talk to another woman who had helped us a couple weeks ago. I am in NO way trying to get anyone in trouble...especially bc I love this place so much. Everyone there is so very nice. Just a suggestion is all...that if you aren't sure about something in the nursery, remember there is always someone there who will know the answers. Enough with that. I'm sorry if I offended anyone at Maddie's with that. Not my intention at all. Ok, there is a little house on the property. Check it out when you go. It's suuuuuper homey! Looking out the windows too to the nursery is sorta magical...at least for me. That'd be a cool air bnb haha. I wonder if someone actually lived there tho in the past. This place is absolutely wonderful. Edwards is great, too, don't get me wrong. However, again, it's very very large. Maddie's you will always get one to one help with their employees. Edwards, same, but sometimes you have to go searching and sometimes you have to walk and walk to find help. Again, a review for them will come as well...and it'll be good as well. Maddie's also has this amazing dog who is super chill. I saw his name online but ugh can't remember it. Yellow Lab. Soooo cute! So sweet. A dog on the property is a major win in my book. They used to carry Christmas trees in the past. However, for like the past 2 years, I haven't seen them :( Now that I've actually gone to the nursery, if they get Christmas trees again, I'll definitely go there for it. It's a tad pricey. However, you are 100% getting top quality plants, flowers, etc. You feel that when you just walk in. Truly is a magical little place. The owner helped us with some questions and we purchased a nice selection of blooms. It's quaint, but beautifully laid out with a great selection. There are also helpful signs that help organize the different areas and types of plants. We typically shop at Edwards, but it can be very overwhelming with too many options. I appreciate the high quality, yet simple selection that Madeline George provided. Highly recommend!

Lovely Hollow in Caldwell offers such a simple yet memorable experience. For $20, you're given a reusable glass jar that's half-filled with water to keep your flowers fresh while you pick, along with a pair of scissors (which you return at the end). Even better, bring your jar back on your next visit and they'll take $1 off your bouquet, which I thought was a fun and eco-friendly touch. I came by myself, and one of my favorite parts of the evening had nothing to do with the flowers. A sweet mama-to-be noticed I was there alone and said, "Are you here by yourself? Let me take your picture--you look too cute!" She was there with her two young children and friends, and her kindness truly made my evening. As I was leaving, I asked one of the wonderful ladies working the check-in booth if she would take one last photo of me under the Lovely Hollow sign. Even though they were wrapping up for the evening, she happily did. Both women at the front booth were incredibly welcoming, friendly, and helpful from the moment I arrived. The live band created the perfect soundtrack while local vendors added to the fun, making it easy to spend a couple of hours enjoying the beautiful Idaho evening. Watching the sun set over the flower fields while creating my own bouquet was such a peaceful experience. Whether you're planning a date night, girls' night, family outing, or a solo adventure like I did, Lovely Hollow is absolutely worth the visit. It's only about 20 minutes from our home in Middleton, and I'll definitely be back--with my jar in hand.

I, like millions of children out there, have experienced homelessness as a child and homelessness is something that is very near and dear to me. As a child, I grew up in a drug home and we lived many nights in our van, the park, homeless shelter (Opportunity House in Vacaville, Ca.), and in a park. As a child this wasn't easy, as an adult, I could only imagine. We've seen the issue in our community with homeless, most recently the tragedy of a young girls life at the Boise Walmart. This review isn't here to debate why people are homeless, it's to review a non-profit agency that is taking this issue into their hands and supporting individuals to end homelessness. I heard about CATCH from my partner, George, who was looking for community resources to help one of his employees who's been sleeping in their car. This review is based solely on research and word-of-mouth to bring community awareness and resources for our loved ones and other members in need in Idaho. I have not used their services. I will be adding both of their locations to Yelp and using primarily the same review. This is CATCH's first review and my 437th Yelp review. CATCH has three programs: Housing Placement and Rental Assistance-- help build a Housing Plan together to you find an affordable home in your name. They will sponsor the application fee, security deposit, and rent (eligibility requirements must be met). They offer as much rental assistance as is needed to stabilize you, which varies family-to-family. Case Management-- this is a person that stays with you after you've found a place. They will help you set long-term goals and help minimize the risk of recidivism. I've done Case Management and its some of the most rewarding and hard work I've done. They become a partner of yours. There to listen and help you help yourself. Financial Independence-- they partner with other providers, locally, to help you and your income. According to their website, they offer financial literacy, budget counseling, and job development skills needed to ensure that your income is sustainable enough to maintain your housing. The partner with Mountain West Bank to match your savings up to $500, which to me, is incredible! Way to go Mountain West Bank! Irrigation is not suffient for coverage and one of my spinklers was relocated to my neighbors property without my consent. It's way less than what would be asked of you if you had your own place. The staff here are phenomenal. They listen and they truly do care for us. I've noticed a lot more people come in during the winter season but that makes sense due to the weather outside. I've had a job most of the time that I've stayed here and I spoke with a counselor here and they are helping me find an apartment! Don't listen to the negative reviews! They serve us food at checkin and the rules are posted that you must let staff know your schedule and to call in before 5pm to check in. If you decide you want to donate the front door has a doorbell. Staff will receive it and make sure it is given to the right people. Take care and come volunteer sometime!
