Spacious and well designed cafe! If you need a place to study, this place seems really nice and quiet. The people there were all working on something and so it was very silent (might not be the best place to go talk to a friend if you guys are loud). Beautiful interior flooded with bright natural lights, friendly baristas, fast internet, plentiful of functional outlets, peaceful ambiance overruled the lack of parking and the slightly bland chai latte (which is also pre-sweetened, to my surprise when I got my drink). The only thing this place doesn't have is standing desks, which will probably mess up the existing aesthetics. I also don't recall there being huge table tops, so if you need to spread out your study material, this may not be the best place. Otherwise, light reading, light catching up, computer work are all perf! Will def be back to give their espresso drink a go! read more

I absolutely love to try and support different local coffee shops in the Dallas area; however, after trying Merit Coffee, I would recommend just visiting a chain. I ordered a Mexican Vanilla Cold Brew - and all I could taste was the flavoring / sweetener. There was no kick in the coffee whatsoever, and I've never had that experience with a cold brew before. Guess I just paid $5+ for a bunch of sugar. There's also no restrooms available to customers. I'm assuming that this restriction was added because of COVID, but still found this to be rather odd and inconvenient for customers. They do have a variety of fresh selections from Taco Deli, which somewhat made up for the other shortfalls. For being on numerous top coffee shop lists in Dallas, I just don't see what the hype is about. read more

I enjoyed my time at Merit Coffee. The modern and minimalistic aesthetic allows for thoughts and sunlight to flow freely throughout the environment. My taste buds called for an iced matcha and double shot of espresso, both of which were served quickly and with a smile. Great service. Amazing lattes. Homemade Mexican vanilla flavoring. Ended up with a real nice cookie for my son as well and he destroyed it in seconds, so, it must have been good! This is a cute cafe with friendly service and lots of comfy seating. Their drinks, however, are overpriced and not very good. I paid over $5 for a flavored cappuccino and what I received was the world's smallest cup of coffee (honestly it was probably 6 oz) that didn't come close to resembling the flavor I ordered (Mexican vanilla). I would assume they forgot or didn't hear me order flavoring, except both the cashier and barista who made the drink confirmed it... My friend said her chai tea latte was similarly lacking flavor. This may be a good place to sit and study only if you plan on drinking plain coffee or a bottled drink. read more

Merit is a welcome addition to the Dallas coffee scene. Their fresh space is accompanied by fresh roasted coffee, brewed to order. This location is great for studying but also sitting in groups with the different seating arrangements. Lots of great light and friendly staff keep the space feel great. I love their pour over coffee which is done on a Kalita Wave. They also have great espresso options and a tantalizing pastry display. Major fan of what they're doing and their coffees! read more
