I came in for a lash perm, and the two girls working were lovely and nice. But the perm didn't even last two days. I can see why this place doesn't have consistent reviews, and it's in desperate need of some updating. Use to come here for everything beauty nails, eyebrows even my daughter's ears piercing. Unfortunately the service has gone downhill in recent years. Came for an eyebrow waxing about a year ago and the girl must have been a new student she kept waxing but the edges were uneven so finally a more experienced lady had to come and fix it. Waxing over the already waxed areas. Turned out fine so I let it go. Another time one eyebrow was higher then the other so I was stuck with a semi permanent skeptical expression. Came back just a day ago eyebrows again and without consulting what I wanted she just had at it. The little hairs that took a year to gradually grow back have been stripped away and I'm back to the 90's brows. Hopefully thin brows are making a comeback soon. I'm not sure why I kept returning after the less then mediocre experiences, let's call it nostalgia. Safe to say I won't be returning unless it's a dire emergency. This is for Merle Norman at Willowbrook in Langley, not for Metrotown (they show up as the same place). I went to for brows and it's basically an assembly line. The girl sat me down, put me in front of a horrible mirror with horrible lighting, and started in on me with wax before I even said what I wanted... No time spent asking me what I wanted, what I might consider, or what she thought might look nice on me. When I got home, my brows were too dark, too thick, and too short. The arch I spent so long growing was gone! Sorry, won't go back there again for brows. Love their cosmetics and skin care, though. Great service for that. read more

I got my nose pierced a while ago. My nose pain came off after some time. I went back to get it fixed and they told me i have to do it all by my self. Nobody was willing to help me reason due to "hygiene". They charged a good amount for the service and the lady sitting in the nails section came out and literally refused me to help/ guide. read more

Come here for eyelash extensions as they are having the discount for 75$. The eyelash was good, it's more of natural look even though it's not what i had in mind. The other product might be too hard for me bcos i feel like burn when she applied it around my eyes. The staff that assist me, i think she is japanese(?) is really great and put on every detail. She really spending time to make sure it looks great and people have been complimenting on my eyelashes as they thought it's natural idk about the product that they sell but for service wise she is good. This place is busy since it's located in Metrotown mall, but I've found that someone will always attend to you. They do push their products a little here, but it suits me fine as their stuff works well with my complexion. I have yet to do a facial at this location, but the prices are really good...deluxe facial (an hour's worth of deep cleanse and massage) goes for $65. read more

DON'T GO TO THIS PLACE. The ladies here are unprofessional to do such procedures. I had my daughter's ears pierced in this place for $80. The lady was shaking. She put dot and erase three times in my daughter's ears. Then she used a gun i dont know if sanitized. She made me buy a cleaner from them for $6. GREAT JOB FOR HAVING PEOPLE LIKE STEVEN AT METROTOWN REPRESENTING YOUR COMPANY. THE MOST DISGUSTING PERSON I HAVE EVER DEALTH WITH.Today I went in to the Merle Norman store located in Metrotown mall in Burnaby to get my eyebrows done. I asked the employee Roselyn to make sure she doesn't go thin on as I am getting married soon and wanted a natural look. She said ok. When she gave me the mirror to see the final work on my eyebrows I was so shocked and upset on what she had done, I told her immediately. My eyebrows were sooo thin and uneven, I had to try to fix what I could myself!! My left eyebrow looked different than my right eyebrow and I literally asked for her tweezer to fix it! I told her right away that THIS IS TERRIBLY THIN and she argued back with me saying she did not even change the thickness of my eyebrows. I immediately went to the manager/owner STEVEN, and showed him my eyebrows and told him how this is exactly what I asked the employee not to do, I ASKED HER TO KEEP IT THICK!!!!! His response?? Well, everyone has a preference. And then he looked in my eyes and said that he didn't think anything was wrong with my uneven eyebrows. NOT ONCE HE APOLOGIZED FOR THIS, I WAS IN SHOCK. Instead he looked at me saying: ok, 15 dollars. I told him there's no way I'm paying for this shitty service and asked him to call the mall security to come and see my eyebrows and decide if I should pay for this terrible job. He called the security and as I was walking out of their store he was following me literally harassing me and screaming after me in front of people. The security arrived and I told him what's going on, showing him my eyebrows while crying in the middle of the mall, He looked at my eyebrows and asked the Steven guy 'DO YOU SERIOUSLY THINK NOTHING IS WRONG WITH HER EYEBROWS????' All this happened while this so called manager or owner or whatever he is (STEVEN) was laughing at me crying. This is the worst experience I have ever had in my whole life. I'm not poor, nor do I try to complain to get discount, but the 'customer service' at that place from Roselyn and Steven was so disgusting that I had to write a complaint at the mall customer service. Not only I will never go back to ANY of Merle Norman stores again, I will also make sure to have this experience posted online for everybody to see. I use to get my eyebrows done by a few of the employees, and it was always an "OK job". I finally found one that I can trust with my face ! Rupinder, She does an amazing job and really takes her time to make sure it looks right!! I found my self a life time eyebrow saver, seriously try her out. The price $15 which to some may feel is a bit much and I felt the same before because it wasn't anything special but now it's worth every penny. Awesome job read more

Came here for a french gel set and its really expensive. My gel nails broke, chipped, and lifted within a week. If I'm paying $80.00+ tax + tip I expect high quality. Sadly not at this place. i went in for a brazilian today and id have to say,im dissapointed. i thought the lady named judy understood what a brazilian was (other than its not suppose to be painful,really?) i wish i did bring a mirror to fully inspect the job done,damn,i even tipped her! Decided after thinking about doing it for months to get a Brazilian for the first time. Not a lot of places were open on a Sunday, however I went into this place and asked if it was a service they did. They got me into a room right away and within 5 minutes Daisy was in and ready to start. She was great by making me comfortable and I think she did a great job. It wasn't nearly as painful as I thought it would be. I also needed my eyebrows done and she did a great job shaping them without making them to thin and making sure they were both matched. She did upsell her products which I normally don't agree to but this time I made an exception. I would definitely go back however there are cheaper places that may be just as good. read more
