Not familiar with the area so I googled car wash. I was looking for more of a full service with an interior clean, which would include vacuum and the windows. You pull up and then enter the bay. I took the receipt to the cashier inside. I walked past two giant macaw birds. The wash took maybe less than 10 minutes. Before I stepped in the vehicle I asked him to re-wipe some of the windows cause they just didn't look very clean. I thought the center console or cupholders would've been cleaned. They only let the automated machines do the work - very little additional cleaning by staff to make sure car was clean. I specifically went here instead of a drive thru wash because I wanted inside windows and door frames cleaned. They didn't touch the back window (it had a film on it) and when I asked attendant, he took a towel, did one swipe and said it was clean. The door frames still had dust on them. The automated machines never got the front grill clean, still tons of bug marks left on car. I could have gone thru a self serve wash and did a better job for a fraction of the cost. $15 was way too much to pay for these results. read more

A bit pricey, but they do the work. A basic car wash is $13-14. They were about 6 cars ahead of me, but I was in and out in less than 10-15 minutes even with only one line open. It would have been nice for them to clean out the books and crannies especially for that price, but oh well. Other than that, it was fast, easy, and clean overall. I got a gift certificate so did the Pearl Car Wash. When I got home, the back of my SUV was as dirty as when I went in. My floor mats didn't get vacuumed either and my dash board must have been swiped a little here and there because there was still dust in places. When I called they said they don't clean floor mats unless you pay extra nor do they vaccum the back of a SUV - unless you pay extra. I would never go back but I still have some money left on my gift card. Can't wait to see how bad that will be !!! read more

These people are criminals and need to go to jail, because I was just robbed. I purchased the Pearl Package, costing a little over $19 w/tax. I got a glorified exterior wash. They spent less than 30 seconds vacuuming my car, none of the interior was wiped down and apparently the "baby powder" air freshener that comes with the Pearl Package is the same as the "dirty vacuum" scent. Or perhaps my sense of smell has been compromised. I guess it's possible I misunderstood the package I was purchasing.... I assume the only reason this place is still in business is because full service car wash facilities are sparse in the Madison area. At least the robbers were all friendly. read more

Laughably bad service and quality. The outside wash was fine, but for the interior the staff couldn't be bothered. The vacuuming and wipe-down were done in name only. I actually considered going to another car wash to get it redone. The photos explain more than words can. (These were all taken AFTER the wash was complete.) What a waste of $20. And to add insult to injury, the car now stinks from whatever cleaners they used. (We declined the air freshener.) Strongly recommend staying away from this place. read more

This time they not only did a lousy job the guy even held out his hand seemingly to accept a tip. I always have tipped them in the past. This time I decided to look inside just in case even though I did drop a $5 into the thing like an idiot. The reason I brought it today was to clean out all the paper scraps such as straw wrappers and receipts scattered everywhere. I took time while I waited in the line (15 cars at time of entry in rear) to gather anything of value and deposit it in a box in the very back. Leaving only obvious junk on the center console between the front seats When I get in, nothings changed. So I exit and park to the immediate side so I don't block anyone behind me. I gathered up all the loose crap and simply drop it in their driveway. Here's the picture of the remainder and it's obvious they didn't bother with anything period. Not even considering that perhaps the receipts and paper clips etc were valued, could they actually wipe the sticky shit and coffee drippings? No. They didn't clean the shit and return the potentially valuable paper scraps. The streak of birdshit is also still present on the sliding door window. $21. If the line wasn't so long I'd be back there requesting it be done correctly. If I wanted it done poorly, I'd have my teenage son do it. I should have listened to the reviews. The guys working on the car were downright rude. I think they threw trash into the car. The vacuuming was not done for over 50% of the car. I go to Mermaid as it is conveniently located close to my place of employment. It's a full service carwash but I often feel their drying/spraying down my inside windows to be a little haphazard. The location is kind of odd, but it's convenient if you're over on the west side of Madison. There was essentially no wait on a Saturday morning, when I'd typically anticipate waiting longer due to others having the same idea as mine and tackling all the boring errands I can in one go on a weekend morning. I was approached right away and received help understanding my options. I wanted interior vacuum and some basic level of exterior cleaning. The wax would've been $2 more, and I did not opt in for that. Total, I paid about $13 without any coupons. There are certainly coupons out there, though, and I'd suggest finding one before visiting this car wash. The inside of this location is clean enough. They offer lots of car goodies, like scent refreshers and cleaning supplies. There are two loud, talkative birds in the lobby. I found them entertaining, but I can see others being a little freaked out by their human-like "hellos." Overall, I would go back for basic cleaning. In the future, if I want more detailed work, I'll head elsewhere. read more

My Previous actual wash experience was approx 5 years ago. Apparently reading the most recent reviews of others I see a clean car is about as common as an actual mermaid and nothing has changed. My last wash left dirt all up and down our vehicle- much more than a simple wipe. They refused to run it through the wash a second time and began to litterly WIPE! the dirt on the paint! After stopping them and telling a manager that never cared and told me I would have to buy another wash - we never returned... 3 words..... "mister car wash". My current experience is with trying to renew a wash card as a gift for an employee (they insisted on mermaid due to their location). First I look online to find hours / some crazy website which later I learn is not theirs appears. Actually I was told they dont even have a website..? Ok I thought it was 2018.? Did I get warped back to the 80's? Then only one person could accept a credit card payment over the phone for renewal. Problem is they were never around so multiple attempts, days and calls later finally got it renewed. It astonishes me how a business like a car wash can operate without a simple website or own a google places page in todays current marketplace. Well.. since they don't have a website they probably don't know what yelp is either... I will continue with Mister Car Wash and receive excellent customer service and pricing. My car was so dirty form all the snow we received in Madison Wi. I had gone to them before a number of times and they have done a good job, I haven't been there since last year. At that time the cost of a car wash and to vacuum your carpet's was $11.00. When I went today there's a man that comes up to your car and asks you if you want any extras with your car wash. I told him just the car wash. The board above you as you drive in said the car wash was $13.98. When I went to pay it was $14.98. There was really nothing I could do as my car was already being washed. When I got home looked over my car they never touched my carpets. The outside of my car was horrible also. I didn't go back as I live on the other side of town. Do not go there you will be very disappointed. The only reason why I give it 1 star was because the gentleman that writes your ticket for the car wash was very nice. We talked for a bit as there was only 1 line open when they usually have all 3 lines open. Hey said the employees do not get treating very well. He also said that he is going to quit soon. The basic wash package worked for me. Yes, they could have done a bit more with the interior cleaning as there was still some dust and debris, but carpets were vacuumed and the exterior looked very good. I hate to give anyone a terrible review, but I've taken cars to this location to get washed 2 or 3 times over the last few years, and each time I've been very disappointed. (But I blamed myself for stupidly giving them another chance.) I'd like to say that they did an OK job on either the interior or exterior of the car, but they didn't. Obvious spills on the seats, crumbs, dust, and fingerprints on the windows (yes, I have young kids) all went unnoticed by the people supposedly doing the inside. And on the outside, bugs on the windshield and grime in the wheels were still there after the wash. In the end, I just took my car to the Octopus on Park Street, where they did it right the first time. Never again. read more

I have had my car cleaned here a few times. For 16 bucks it's a great job. They vacuum out the car very nicely. Leave anything on the seat that they find under the seats. Then they drive it through a long and elaborate wash system that thoroughly washes the entire car. The wipe down the car and clean off the windows inside and out and wipe off the dash and interior. Nothing fancy but its a nice quick job. If you want more done you can order that. I appreciate these guys. Keep up the good work and thank you for your service. read more

Good car wash. I go here very frequently. Staff is friendly. The exterior car wash is always excellent. Interior cleaning is good for vacuuming seats and car mats as well as window washing but that is it. If you require more probably get your car detailed. read more
