We had already spoken to reps from several other companies. Unlike the other company reps we spoke to, it was Brant himself who was going to do the work. My wife and I first used Brant Merriam in 2013 to install a tank-less water heater. (That was when he was still working for a large company.) Using his own experience, he carefully evaluated and considered the work that would have to be done, and then he patiently explained all the product options and made a recommendation based on our particular needs. In other words, we hired Brant, rather than the company he was working for at that time. (Since then he has wisely decided to work for himself.) Not only did he do everything he said he would do, but he made sure he neatly routed all the plumbing and electrical connections keeping in mind the future maintenance of the heater. He installed cutoff valves so that when the tank-less heater was undergoing annual service we would not have to turn off the main water supply for the whole house. And any abandoned lines were also terminated with a valve. The intake and exhaust PVC pipes were neatly routed and well supported. Since then we have used him for many other things; for example: installed a new kitchen garbage disposer, replace 2 sump pumps, repair and replace kitchen and bath faucets, and install a utility sink and toilet in a roughed in basement. We're new home owners and had an unknown leak in our master bath that turned out to be the roof. We needed an exhaust pipe to be moved and Brant walked through everything with me to make sure I understood what was going on. Not only did he come out to see the issue right away he walked through a bunch of other issues in the house and helped me figure out what was going on. Our kitchen sink was clogged two days before Christmas. I called a couple plumbers who couldn't come out till after the holiday. Brant was able to squeeze us in. The clog was really bad and he had to go at it from both the kitchen sink and the clean out area a couple times. He worked very hard and got the line open.
