Ultimately, we have to move on from Peninsula Pointe because the distance from our home and they want us near. Their price point was also surprisingly lower than other places we've been to. I didn't want to rush the decision and I was waiting for that feeling of certainty that we'd found the place. I'm so glad that Peninsula Point was on my list! From the start, Jennifer from the marketing department made the experience exceptional. She was warm, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in helping us understand what life at Peninsula Point, and assisted living in general, would look like. Her kindness and transparency immediately put me at ease. I also had the chance to meet Julius, the Executive Director, and he was equally amazing. He took the time to answer all of my questions thoroughly and honestly, and even shared his personal cell number so I could reach out anytime as I navigated the process. That level of accessibility and care is rare, and it meant a lot to me. It feels great knowing that Peninsula Point is the right place for my parents, and the best part is, they feel the same way. We're all excited for their move-in date, and I feel confident knowing they'll be in such a supportive, well-run community. Highly recommend Peninsula Point to anyone searching for a truly exceptional assisted living facility!

Life gets a little easier knowing your loved one is safe at Silverado Memory Care. From housekeepers to management, everyone handles everything with skill and compassion. Sometimes, as a family member, that's what you need most. Silverado staff work tirelessly to ensure residents have what they need. While no place is perfect, Silverado strives for it. A friend of my mothers suggested that we investigate Silverado Rolling Hills after doing 1 month of in-home care, very expensive, and 1 month at a board & care facility, not enough stimulation, and interaction. I am so glad we did. Why the 5-star rating: 1. Safety: Mom feels safe here. She feels she can express her needs; she is seen and is heard. 2. Mental health: Mom has a smile again and back to her sharp wit. 3. Staff: The staff at Silverado RH are terrific. From the front desk crew to maintenance crew, to care caregivers to the activities team to the administrator, everyone is nice, compassionate, competent, and really do care for the residents. I can reach out anytime of day and get a quick answer and get pictures of mom every few days without even asking. 4. Cleanliness: I have yet to drop in on my mom and find her or the facility dirty or the lingering odor of urine. They clean every day, paint walls when they get scuffed by wheelchairs/walkers and make sure any messes are picked up quickly. 5. Activities: There is always something going on, painting with watercolors, live music, wine tasting, drum circle, flower arranging, outside excursions, chair aerobics, bingo, lecture series, manicures, face masks, the list goes on. 6. Community: when you visit, you get to know other residents and their families. The common theme is that their LO is also happy and thriving at Silverado RH. 7. Food: delicious. Friends and family members can join their LO for a meal at no cost. Just give them a heads up and they will save you a seat. 8. Pricing: one price, every month, not ala carte options like many other residents. Only extra cost is for the incontinence package if you opt in for that. Bottom line, mom is thriving, has a great team around her, she feels safe and enjoys her roommate and other residents, some which are birds and dogs. And our family has peace of mind knowing that she is well taken care of. Thank you Silverado Rolling Hills team for helping her and us through this journey.

I found a place like that for my mom. I had initially located it in 2021 when I was looking for a place for my step-dad, but it didn't work out for him. Just after the holidays this year, when my mom was getting ready to be discharged from a rehab facility, I went back to check on availability. Gregg, the owner, went out of his way and met my mom in the rehab, and took the time to talk to her and get to know her. I really appreciated that. When mom got there, she was greeted by Chelsea and Jimmy, who are the lead care takers there. Chelsea and Jimmy met her with so much care and warmth, that mom instantly felt at home. She got along with all of the other ladies there, and the had meals together and watch TV and, and we would go for walks in the evenings. Jimmy, whom my mom took to calling "Greenie" (I think because of his eye color?) would make meals for them. My mom loved it there, and she felt safe and cared for. Gregg coordinated closely with hospice when the time came, and was there to ease the transition when she passed. I hope you never have to be in a position to put a loved one into a board and care, but if you do, I pray that it is a place like this one. Thank you, Gregg, Jimmy, Chelsea, Ann Marie, Adair, Julie and MJ for taking such good care of mom.

The property itself is stunning--meticulously maintained from the landscaping to the interior--but the real beauty is in the staff. Working primarily on the third and fourth floors, I've witnessed the incredible kindness and patience the care team shows to residents and to one another. It is a seamless, supportive environment where everyone works as a team. I am constantly inspired by the culture here. A beautiful facility with an even more beautiful heart. ‍

Unfortunately, my experience with Ivy Park has recently become very concerning. In the beginning,…read moreeverything was great when my mother first moved in, but over time we have noticed a significant decline in the level of care and attention being provided. There have been multiple occasions where my mother has been locked out of her room due to issues involving another wandering resident. Every time we visit, we are forced to locate a caregiver or med tech just to have her door unlocked. When these concerns were brought to management, we were met with little to no communication, resolution, or reassurance. What has been most upsetting is seeing my mother in visible discomfort and emotional distress. During one visit, she was nearly in tears from pain and discomfort, and when asked about how she was feeling, she began crying. I then attempted to ask the med tech, Irene, questions regarding my mother's medication and care, but she was unable to provide any answers and appeared disengaged throughout the interaction. It is extremely alarming to know that staff members responsible for residents' wellbeing cannot properly address basic concerns from family members. At this point, I am genuinely fearful for my mother's safety and overall wellbeing due to what appears to be a lack of properly trained and compassionate staff. The only times we consistently receive attentive care and professionalism are when staff members such as Dominque, Breana, Dejah, Lilie, Ms. Robin, and previously Vada are present. Unfortunately, I was informed that Vada no longer works there. Many of the other employees I have encountered seem uninterested, lacking compassion, and simply present to collect a paycheck rather than provide quality care to residents. My family and I are paying a substantial amount of our savings and income for my mother to live in a community where we expected her to be treated with dignity, care, and professionalism. Due to these ongoing concerns, I have seriously considered moving my mother out of the community altogether. I truly hope improvements are made soon, including stronger leadership and management, because residents and their families deserve much better.

I was in the…read morewomb when my mom first worked as a caregiver & I was 2yrs old when my parents opened their first care home in their early 20's. I've seen good, great, disappointing, & have heard/watched videos of horrible things. It's totally understandable why people are apprehensive. I would only want Better-Than-The-Best for my loved ones who worked so hard raising me & my siblings to have every opportunity to thrive. (In all honesty, I can't bare thinking of ANYONE taking care of my loved ones better than me... but I've seen & experienced enough to realize, I can't do it all & there are quality places that can help.) I HIGHLY recommend you check out ANY of the Pacific Sunrise Homes. Call them! Visit! See for yourself & ask about their homes all over southern california & where they're expanding. The genuine FAMILY-style care in these homes are so uplifting & comforting to see & experience. They don't feel like facilities. They certainly don't smell like most elderly homes I've been to (with all do respect). They're always so clean & smell of essential oils. The staff are incredibly loving, patient, hard-working, creative, & so clearly passionate about every client, relative, & visitor that comes into any of the homes. Everyone eats together at meal times: staff, clients, relatives, guests. Everyone participates in the activities & always seem to be laughing & truly having fun in the numerous parties. The food is always freshly made from weekly groceries. It's literally like my grandparents homes! It's homey & welcoming. It's AWESOME to see the residents so active & not just left in front of tv's or lonely rooms. Nursing facilities really break my heart seeing how little interaction many of the clients seem to get from their jaded reactions to people greeting them. The residents in Pacific Sunrise Homes seem so much more lively & it shows how accustomed they are to being spoken to & interacted with whether they struggle with Alzheimer's or speak at all, the smiles & openness says so much about their care. It's a big thing to have such involved management, evident in how the owner shows up & is well known all over LA & San Bernardino County... the amazing upkeep shows how well trainings are maintained... yet, to have such cooperative & assertive staff is such a rare find & so deeply appreciated. All the staff of the homes know each other & meet regularly so there's always extra help as needed. It literally feels like one huge family. For whatever my opinions are worth, I sincerely hope you check these homes out for yourself & decide based on your experience. I'm fairly certain you won't be disappointed! If it so happens their availability is limited, they also refer out to homes they've vetted & vouch for. They always go out of their way to help. So much love & blessings to all of Pacific Sunrise Homes & beyond. This work is FAR from easy & often goes under-appreciated. I sincerely hope you all know you are literally god-sent angels with the hearts you have for the elderly community that deserves so much from the world. All the best to you all, always, God Bless!

Well by some miraculous fate, (THANK YOU Maria Cantoria!), we found Rachel and her family at Pacific Sunrise Home in Rancho Palos Verdes, that surpassed anything we could have hoped for. Rachel has so much experience with so many different kinds of needs that her patients come with. She has a practical working knowledge of medications, from hands on treatment, that certainly helped me to navigate through the evolution of that as disease progresses. She doesn't give medical advice, but she can tell you what she's experienced, and guide you to questions you can ask your providers. She also knows if the outside services you might contract, are actually doing their job. She knew when to recommend hospice for us, and then connected us to a hospice that is nothing short of angelic. When you visit, you might get a whiff of the delicious fragrances coming from her kitchen. Rachel makes fresh healthful and delicious meals for her patients. She cares. We are so thankful to have found Rachel and can't thank her enough. Finding her and Pacific Sunrise was nothing short of a blessing for us.

Additionally she had diabetes and it required her to have daily injections of insulin, normally 3 times a day. I was my aunt's trustee and as I lived 500 miles away, and as she had no relatives locally she could rely upon, I looked for a residential home where she might get steady, reliable care. Yes, I spoke with the owner of the Emerald Isle homes and her assistant. My Aunt's needs were made very clear to them, including the needed insulin shots. Additionally, they received a current medial report on my Aunt. Regardless, after placing my Aunt , the owner refused to give required insulin shots to my Aunt. My 92 year old Aunt, who had been on daily doses of insulin for 30 years , was suddenly deprived of insulin. After 2 or 3 days, without insulin, I got a call from Hospice that they were going to give my Aunt the needed shots but that I had to find another home for her that would give the shots. So I did, and moved my Aunt out of that place within the same week. My Aunt never recovered from that blow to her system and she died at the new ( second) home within a week. I am of the firm opinion that the lack of insulin facilitated my Aunt's death. That owner was absolutely heartless to take my Aunt in and then refuse to give her insulin. There is no way I would have put my Aunt in that home,if I had known they were not going to give her the necessary insulin.
