Recently needed my carpets clean due to a guest's dog made a mess on my carpet. The technician, Jose, called me 30 minutes before my appointment and offered to arrive earlier than expected because he had completed his previous job early. 5 minutes later, he showed up and got to work setting up his machine and even had another technician show up and help. Both of these twp gentlemen are true professionals! Thorough but quick, they hadmy carpet cleaner than when I moved into my apartment!!! I met the owner of Merrill's February of 2017 when I was forced to move from my apartment because rent went from $650 a month to $1065! Merrill's was referred to me by a friend, and I will honestly be eternally grateful. This is why...And, if you don't want to read a long review, I'll tell you up front, he is the kindest, most compassionate, understanding, caring, gracious man you will ever meet, does a fantastic job, and is working for the client more than for the money. That being said, the first job he did for me only cost me $80 (in 2017). I needed someone to spray for fleas, not that I had any, but it was in the contract, and he not only called someone for me, but that man didn't charge me anything! I'm old and I am on a fixed income. This time, after the sewer line backed up into my bathroom, he not only came out 3 times, because the sewage would not stop coming in, but he called a man he knew, because the owner of the duplexes was doing nothing, got him to come over on no notice, and got the problem solved! No one else I've ever met would have done as much as he has done for me. He was caught in traffic when he was called to come here, and still came! He came back the next morning, and later that day. He was truly concerned for me in this situation, and he didn't leave until it was resolved. So, if you ever need someone to clean carpets, or clean up a watery mess in your home, please do yourself a favor and call this man's company. Thank you Merrill's! read more

I was a newbie at closing my lease and moving out and while I had many questions about it they were all answered. The owner is reliable, he always answered the phone calls I had. The service was done on a day that I had to work, but the owner asked the technician to lock the door behind him. They even went the extra mile to send the receipt to my property manager! I would recommend them. I don't know the cost of the other places, but I thought $200 without tax was reasonable for a 600 sq foot place. read more

Brian went out of his way to help reschedule the cleaning not once, but twice to accommodate our changing pack-out timeline. When our movers were delayed the day of, he even went so far as to PERSONALLY move furniture out of our house so the carpets could be cleaned and thoroughly dry before the renters moved in the following morning! The rest of the staff was efficient, friendly, and knowledgeable, and talked me through the process and expectations cleaning our 15 year old carpets. We were absolutely thrilled with the results! They don't stand behind their work. Had an apartment cleaned that smelled like dog. A week later it still smelled the same. Merrill's was quick to come out, but charged full price to re-do their cleaning a smaller portion of the same carpet. read more

The BEST place in Oak Harbor. We tried several different cleaners over a few years and finally stayed with Merrill. They can always accommodate your schedule, are professional and do a GREAT job. Quick and efficient. Used them for our upholstery and they did a good job. The person who books the appointments also does cleaning so you may have trouble if you call while he's on a job. I give Brian at Merrills 5 stars. I wish I could give more. I rent my house out in Coupeville Wa. And live in Ca. And had some horrible renters in my house. They had pets that destroyed my carpet. Not only did he clean my carpets he also ripped the carpet out of the room with cat urine in it. He treated it took pictures for me and lugged all of the waste away. But he didn't stop there I told him they left trash behind and stuff in our shed he then said he would help us out and lug all of that away as well. Talk about GREAT customer service. Customer satisfaction is their priority! I had my carpets cleaned prior to putting my house on the market. I hadn't had them professionally done in years. Merrills scheduled me an appointment within 2 days. The employees were on time and professional. After they completed the job and my carpet dried out, I noticed a bit of a shadow in a couple areas. I called back to inquire. The owner himself came out to my house within 24 hours of my call to investigate. Turns out, the shadows were left from chemicals I had used on the floors in years past (as a PH test of the carpet indicated), but the owner re-cleaned all of my carpets (free of charge) anyway to ensure I would be happy with the final product and to try to eliminate as much of the chemical residue from my years of using strong industrial cleaners. My carpets now look and smell great. It's great to see a local business that prides themselves in customer satisfaction and is willing to go the extra mile to achieve it! read more
