Merry Maid fractured my microwave door and refused to accept responsibility. Don't use them, they're not responsible for damage.

I had a great first experience and then the second was so bad it seemed really disrespectful. They asked me to check their work and I really didn't I just said great and thanks and when they left there was real dirt on the stove- ashes - that's how dirty - dud they think I wouldn't do not see it when I cooked that night? I sent them a video of the me pouring the ashes off the stove top and the bathtub and toilet that weren't touched and they wouldn't send me the check back. I had to pay $35 fir a stop payment which they didn't reimburse me for. I was working from home b when they were there. They were gone in under an hour. They pour bleach everywhere immediately so you smell it and think they're cleaning. They aren't. I don't trust them back in my apartment. What kind of person does this? I view it as anger. They didn't clean and they knew I'd see it. read more

In general I'm not impressed by home cleaning services and I'd rank Merry Maids among the rest The two ladies arrived as planned and did a generally good job. I'd fault them only on cleaning the sliding door to my deck and the sliding glass doors to one of my closets. It's hard to get the dust streaks off such closet doors. They broke slats on one of my venetian binds but it is the oldest one I have and fragile so I don't really blame them. The lady claimed it was already broken but it wasn't. This was my first time with Maids and I paid $300 to clean my 1100 sq ft apt.. The understanding was they'd contact me after the job and schedule regular visits at $190 per. I haven't heard from them. Two days before the visit I received a text changing the agreed upon time of arrival. No discussion--just a text. This caused me to change my plan for the day, with some difficulty. read more

This was at least my third "once a year whether it needs it or not" cleaning with Merry Maids. I am a nervous party-thrower but Merry Maids do such a great job that I don't even worry about how clean the house looks. Merry Maids (sorry, I'm really bad with names) arrived right on time and forgave me for still being in the process of decluttering. They were SUPER friendly and efficient! Done in a couple of hours. I have to say that they should NOT be mistaken for professional organizers. Decluttering and organizing is up to the homeowner to do BEFORE Merry Maids arrive. You can't expect them to know which things you want and where you want them. If you leave a pile of things, they will leave it a tidy, clean pile. Thanks Merry Maids! I cannot believe how wonderful working with Merry Maids office staff and housekeepers have been. They are reliable, trust-worthy and positive perfection with their maids. I think I have the cream of the crop, Arcelia and Lola. They are a team to be reckons with!!! They clean my house with a vengeance!!! A couple of genies in a bottle when it comes to detailed work. When Lola dusts she moves everything in her way, not to to leave one dust mite!! Arcelia cleans everything on the toilet. Bottom to top it is shinning and my counters and sinks glow! When this team vacuums they move everything and they put it back in its place. My living room, bedrooms, dining and family room are groomed to perfection. My kitchen is my home!!! I love to cook and they are always into detailed cleaning there. Burners lifted and spot polished and the microwave spit, shined and polished, figuratively speaking!!! My counters and sink always look so shiny and new when they are done. Cabinet doors are even cleaned off if there's spatter. I do not leave a list of extra chores to do because they do it all without me asking!!!!! Oh, and my sliding and master bedroom French doors are ALWAYS cleaned, as well as, my mirrors are left without a spot!!! What can I say, they are meticulous!!!! Unprofessional! Would never hire again. Had their Service for 6 months. Cleaners always late but 15 minutes to 45 minutes. They missed areas of dirt on carpet where a plant was spilled-which was very obvious. Asked me if I would like my kitchen counter wiped down? Really? That's a given-duh. They were more interested in talking than cleaning. Look elsewhere. read more

The housecleaners (WINSTON and DARLA) had been here a couple of times before this last time. We discovered $200 cash missing from my daughter's closet (all closets were off limits). After going thru her closet, we found the tin can hidden under some ski clothes but, of course, the cash was gone. Called JANAE @ Merry Maids first before called Pleasant Hill Police and she would not accept responsibility for the theft. Police are convinced DARLA is the thief (even took fingerprints) but guess what? She is not cooperating! AND THE ICING ON THE CAKE: THEY CHARGED OUR DEBIT CARD THE NEXT DAY FOR THE CLEANING. In my experience, they do a great job. However, they are at the very high end of the cost spectrum. Most people in this economy would not be able to afford them, including me. There are other companies out there who do a comparable job at much more reasonable rates. read more

I found the Merry Maids here on yelp and read some of the reviews and decided to give them a try...NEVER AGAIN! I have a two bedroom condo with 2 and 1/2 bath and for $310 I was promised a "deep clean" which was to include wiping down all my baseboards, wiping down the ceiling fans and fixtures, cleaning the stove tops, and all the usual cleaning... I was not going to be home while they cleaned and scheduled the clean for one day before I was having out of town guests come to stay in my home for one week. Since I wasn't home I left little things to know if the work was actually done which included hiking boots in my entrance way with dried mud, cobwebbs on the light fixtures, dust and build up of hair on the bathroom floor, a plastic clothing tag on the bathroom floor, and I had killed an insect on my storm door with a shoe and left a mark to see if it would be wiped off. When I got home that evening from work I came home to a house that still had dried mud on the floor along with crumbs around the base of the garbage can and baseboard. SO...they didn't even vacuum let alone mop the kitchen, entrance way, or downstairs bathroom! Then I proceeded into my dining room where the light fixture still had dust and cobb webbs on it. I then went upstairs and both ceiling fans still had dust hanging off the blades. Also, the hair, dust, and plastic tag were still on the bathroom floors which means they also did not vacuum or mop the tile bathroom floors! I went over to the tub and moved the shampoo bottles to find orange rings of mildew which they did not bother to move while "cleaning". The counter tops in the bathroom had smear marks from whatever they used to "wipe" them. The bathroom door still had hairspray on it from where I do my hair and I was told they would wipe all the doors and baseboards down. The insect on the storm door that I smacked was still there and the marks not touched. I was told they would wipe down my blinds but they too were covered in dust along with the base of the window. Basically, they came in and did a surface clean of dusting and vacuuming my rugs. When paying $310 I expected to come home and be able to eat off my floors if I wanted to! When I called the office of course they were closed for the evening so I left a message. They called back 730am the next morning and offered to come back out but I declined as I was at work and didn't want them going back into my house alone as I'm not sure what they did the first time! I asked for a credit and the best they would do is $100. I ended up paying $200 which I still think is ridiculous because they didn't do what they were contracted to do. The answer I got was that the manager actually wanted to credit me less and I should be happy that they gave me $100 back! I am so unhappy and feel robbed for what they took! I will never use this service and I have told my friends my experience and they too will not be using this service. I'd be a maid too if all I had to do is vacuum and dust! read more

What a rip off this place is. These fools charged me over $300 for a "deep cleaning". It was the worst money I ever spent. They hardly cleaned at all. They didn't even dust an entire room and left so much stuff on the floors it was outrageous. I had everything in my house completely picked up. I have kids so there are some big toys like a train and a ride on car that I had to leave out and they didn't even move them to clean under it. My couch is raised a few inches and specifically told them to clean underneath it and they didn't. Didn't dust ceiling fans or even the fireplace mantle. They were supposed to wipe down the blinds and they were still dusty. Didn't do the baseboards either which was promised for such a high price. I was told they would be cleaning for 4-6 hours but if it took longer they would stay. I was told they charged $100 per hour so I was getting a deal for the $336 I was going to pay for a 4-6+ hour job. They only stayed 2.5 hours. I should have been refunded because I actually paid more than $100 per hour. For that kind of money I was really expecting a fantastic job but what a disappointment. I would never ever have them clean my house again. I can do a much better job myself. read more

This place is the worst cleaning place around if you want somebody to do a half assed job then hire these guys. I spent $300 for what they didn't clean anything and stayed for four hours the women also had a lunch break as soon as they got to my house to clean. I had asked for a deep cleaning specifically my baseboards and floors and they did absolutely none of that. In the initial quote a woman came over and discuss exactly what they would do which was pretty much everything. Their package is bullshit they lie and say they're going to do things and then they don't. When I called to complain they sent some elderly people over the next day to clean what the first people didn't. They also didn't clean what I asked the first time and they left with in less then 45 min needless to say this company is a HUGE RIP OFF. very unsatisfactory cleaning DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON A HALF ASS CLEANING SERVICE read more
