Merry Maids has cleaned my residence in Rockville for several years and have provided great service!

This merry maids is the least professional group of individuals I have ever encountered. They have cleaned our apartment several times. All to satisfaction. Some things were not great--pictures uneven, not vacuumed in certain areas, some dust not addressed, but overall adequate. This week, they arrived and called and said that they cleaned but they broke something but "not a big deal and we will replace it." Well, the item they broke was a glass bowl that was passed down in my family and had extreme sentimental value. I found the item in three pieces and other pieces thrown away and glass shards on our floor. No note. My fiancé spoke to Fabiola who stated she was very upset and they would replace it and just send the item. After explaining that this item is not replaceable they said just send us an item to replace it. We sent over a similar glass bowl and today was told we would have to send in the shards they left and have insurance evaluate my broken bowl. My fiancé said that isn't happening but we could send a picture of it and when the appraisal comes back at say, $5-10, Merry Maids should make up the difference for the new item. Ann, the owner, later called to accuse my fiancé of bullying Fabiola. They then told us they would not pay for a replacement because we won't use them again. They were only concerned with us "trashing them on social media." I personally would not allow these scumbags in your home. They broke things and refused to replace them and then only care about online reviews. No morals and poor service. I would not trust these people. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! Now I am left with a broken family item and the worst customer relations. If all you care about is reviews then enjoy this one, Ann and Fabiola. read more

Merry Maids have cleaned my house for a little over a year now. They've always been very responsive and helpful, particularly Fabiola. I've recently switched to a different team due to a change in my schedule, and whereas the previous team was good, my current one (Alicia's team) is absolutely fantastic. Reviewed everything with the company again surrounding the circumstances with my previous tenants purchasing a few hours of cleaning from this company when she moved out. I never received the full amount of completed work or a refund to the previous tenants or myself for that matter. All lip service! Once again I would recommend avoiding these guys at all costs...very unorganized. read more

Our tenants used this excuse of a cleaning service and not only did we have them return to really clean the house but after the 2nd attempt, there were still crumbs in drawers, smudged mirrors and countertops, dust on top of appliances... Awful. read more

I requested a "Deep cleaning" of the home we are moving into. I paid for a start of two hours with no limit of time, but a deep cleaning. Yesterday I paid $350.00 for services and today when I really looked at the kitchen, I had to spend 6 hours to do a "Deep Cleaning". After speaking to the Manager today and requesting a partial refund they refuse to refund and want to re-clean it. I HAVE ALREADY SPENT 6 HOURS RE-CLEANING!!!!! I did not get very good service from them. They clean things right, but I was not warned beforehand they would not clean the walls. This was a disappointment since I was counting on them cleaning the walls. Then, they also refused to clean the balcony, that only needed a quick wash, pretexting that for some reason they could not or were not able to put water on the balcony to clean it (??). At that point, the language was clearly an issue as well for a good understanding between the maids and myself. I was overall disappointed and felt I was not provided a service that met my expectations for the hefty amount I paid. I will go to their competitors next time. read more

I just spoke to a creepy guy who demanded my elderly father's exact address and apartment number before he could give a quote to clean a 2 bed 1 bath. He couldn't tell me why he needed the apartment number, I said I'd like some idea of price first. He got combative and rude, said there is a standard price but he couldn't tell me without the apartment number? I said of course I'm just looking out for my 80 year old dad's safety. He said "I can't help you if you have that concern, this isn't a good fit" and kept trying to hang up on me while I tried to explain I just wanted some idea of cost... he was really nasty and I hope no one else has that experience. He's the guy that calls back when you ask for a quote in Arlington, light accent. Be careful about who you give your information to over the phone--he seemed a little unhinged. read more

The house looks sparkling each time, and the ladies go above and beyond in making sure everything is taken care of. We are happy that they deal with our noisy German Shepherd too and are not afraid of dealing with her. Very happy with the service. read more

Great first cleaning! The ladies were very detailed and thorough. I was quite impressed with Merry Maids!

They sound good on paper but they don't hold up in real life. I have never seen one company send so many different people in who don't dust. If you want to higher them for dusting DON'T because they won't do it. I have to pay them money to cancel but I want to cancel because they aren't doing what the contract says they will do!! Doesn't seem right to me! Just sending in new cleaners each time doesn't help. NOT HAPPY read more

I signed up with Merry Maids after Pam came out to my home to give an estimate and explain the services. Pam over promised and the actual service under delivered. Fabiola in the office would not acknowledge what Pam pitched. Just an okay job for a steep price. Would not recommend. read more

I've been using Merry Maids since 1994 and can't say enough wonderful things about them! I have always had great teams cleaning my home (currently Eldemira and Blanca) and they are professional and thorough. In all the years I've only had two items broken and both times the team left me a note and the situation was corrected without any hassle. I always felt completely comfortable that my house and contents were in great hands. I appreciated how the team would be careful in how they cleaned my wood floors and ceramic stove top. When I asked for things to be handled a certain way, the response was immediate. The office staff is top notch and always very responsive. I am leaving the area next week and I will miss this group of people very much. I have so much respect for the company that one of the first things I did was to see if there was Merry Maids franchise near my new home and am thrilled that there is. The office manager even made contact with the owner and let them know I would be contacting them. Merry Maids is a great organization. You can trust that your home - your most precious possession - is in great hands with them. read more

I had a terrible experience with Merry Maids. I hired them to clean a vacant 2 bedroom, 2 bath condo before I moved in. They charged me $330 for 2 cleaners to be there for 3 hours and all I got was a half cleaned kitchen and both baths cleaned. What?? Trash was left in the kitchen, hardwood floors weren't vacuumed nor mopped, blinds weren't dusted, mirrors weren't washed, etc. I mentioned to the woman in charge that the windows weren't cleaned either. The sills weren't dusted and the glass wasn't washed. She said to me "we don't do windows." Excuse me?? That information wasn't given to me the day she visited my condo to give an estimate. When I called to complain about the awful cleaning I asked for a refund. I paid good money to not have my condo cleaned which meant my move got pushed back by a week and a half. I asked for a refund and they refused to give me a full refund. I will never use this company again, I will never recommend this company, and if I hear anyone is using this company, I'll tell them not to. The way I see it they stole my money. read more
