I work full time during the weekdays and have a part-time photography biz on the weekends with shoots and busy with editing photos during weeknights. Needless to say, I literally have no time or energy to clean the place let alone cook a decent meal. Enough was enough and I finally convinced hubby to try out a cleaning service I found Lilly's cleaning service on Yelp with only one raving review and I went ahead and took the risk and booked them. I'm so glad that I did! It was seriously the best money spent yet! They had a promotion going on till end of October for 2-3 ladies to come clean the place for $59.99 for 1st hour; $90 for the next. It was a little off-putting to find that out on the phone, but for the price, they were going to clean the bathrooms and kitchen top to bottom. I really can't complain about that. Hubby does a poor job cleaning toilets and I only have time to do a superficial cleaning. Tip: the first time in the morning is the best, since the ladies hit your home first and aren't traveling from anywhere. They were at my place by 8:10am; appt 8:00am. As soon as they came in, they were like drill sergeants heading straight into cleaning mode. I only booked them for an hour and I was fine doing the rest. I just wanted the brunt of the work done ahead. These ladies were still cleaning a little past the hour before I interrupted them, letting them know I only booked them for an hour. Even after giving them the check and everything, they were still cleaning and vacuuming up until they got out the door. They seriously do treat your home like their own, making sure everything gets cleaned and that you're satisfied with the job. The place never looked so clean, especially deep clean after 4 years living there. Hopefully hubby and I can maintain the place now, but seriously if we fall behind, I won't hesitate to book Lilly's cleaning service again. Thanks for an amazing experience! I wish I could give this business 0 stars. What a HORRIBLE experience. I called and scheduled a cleaning for 8am on a friday morning. I gave her a my credit card information and she seemed like a responsible person. I had a work event that I needed to leave home by 10:00- am to attend. I had company arriving on Saturday morning and wanted the place spotless. She told me that for almost $200 dollars, three woman would clean my place in 2 hours. They would do all of the general cleaning including wiping down outside of my cabinets, dusting, cleaning baseboards and would make beds if I left clean sheets for them. It was a little pricey, but I agreed. So, Friday morning at 8:10am, no one showed up, so I called the main office. After several minutes of being on hold, a woman comes back to the phone to say my cleaning was booked to start between 8-9am. That was lie #1. She then tells me the crew will be there in 20 minutes. That was lie #2 At 8:30, I call again and this time no one answers. So, I call again at 8:45 and this time the owner picks up the phone and tells me that she cannot find my booking. She says without an incredulity or shame that she must not have have saved the booking when she entered it... She then proceeds to act as though she is doing me a favor by getting me a crew to that will arrive by 9am. If i was not desperate at this point, I would have looked elsewhere. The crew arrived at 9:20 (late again). They were very nice, but because I needed leave my house by 10:00, I told them to do the essentials (kitchens, bathrooms and floors) and if they had time, do the rest. They worked fast and I waited until 10:15 before I finally told them I had to leave. At that point they had vacuumed, cleaned both my bathrooms and my kitchen. They didn't do anything else. No dusting, nothing. I called the company to provide my credit card information and was told they would call me back in a few hours to tell me how much the service was. Fastforward 4 days and I JUST received a call. She actually wanted to charge me for a full hour and a full cleaning. When I pointed out that they were only here for 45 minutes and didn't do a full cleaning, she acted as though she was being gracious by giving me $10 off. She never apologized for her mistake, she was clearly only interested in getting her money. I wish I could ensure that no one else is ever scammed by these people. It has been a LONG time since I have had such a negative experience with a business of any kind. They are dishonest and are not interested in doing good work. Please avoid if you want to know that commitments will be honored and that you will get what you pay for. Shame on you Lily's! read more

So far... so good I was impressed.......one hour and they did alot of work..... nothing missing or broken. :) In my kitchen they made the microwave spotless and any random glassware on the counter. Vacuumed and dusted impeccably.....bathtub spotless. I even asked them to remove some markered lettering on outside door on patio and they tried hard to no avail but that's ok..... A for effort! I am usually pretty happy with Yelp recommendations but this one was off the mark, and I find myself very disappointed and frustrated. I am an out of state landlord trying to get my home ready for a new tenant. After trying through several venues to get the home satisfactorily cleaned, I scheduled a "deep cleaning" with Lilly's. Keep in mind that the home is completely empty and I live 2 time zones away, and you will start to understand my frustration. The scheduled service for 12/28/11 was for 8AM. By 8:15AM (6:15AM New Mexico time) I had yet to hear from the crew - they were supposed to call to find out where the key was located. I finally got in touch via the main office, and assumed that all would be well from that point. An inspection by my brother the following day on 12/29 showed that the house looked exactly the same, even down to dirty kitchen countertops, appliances and wood floors. I called and left a message that night, then called again the following morning to speak with Diego, the manager, as my message was not returned. In addition to the "mystery" cleaning, I had been overcharged for the service by $37 dollars. He promised to fix the situation and visit the home. 2 hours later I received a call from an employee who stated that the home was very dirty and there was lots of pet hair at the home. The previous reter had 2 dogs. She suggested that there had been a dog in the home in the intervening 48 hours. Additionally, they claimed that they had cleaned for 2 hours and 45 minutes. How could there be dirt and dog hair and dirty countertops in an empty house cleaned by 3 professionals for 2 hours and 45 minutes??? When I spoke with the manager later in the day (again, I had to call him, he did not call me back) he went so far as to blame my brother, rather than admitting that they screwed up the cleaning of an empty home. Empty home == No dog, no people. Dirt and hair == Not cleaned. I was promised a refund for the overage in addition to the "reclean." The house was inspected again after the holiday weekend, and my brother found the house still unsatisfactory; the windows were so dirty that you could leave a mark with your finger through the dirt and grime. He was also still able to identify the "dirty spots" on the countertops he himself had missed several weeks prior during a quick application of cleaner for a potential tenant viewing. Additionally, Diego, the manager, claimed that he was mailing me a refund check though I paid by CC. When I protested, he said that he was unable to process the CC refund until Friday. Today is Friday; still have no refund, still have a dirty home. Save yourself some hassle - perhaps because I live out of state I looked like an easy target - but there have got to be more reputable companies out there that will get the job done completely, professionally, and correctly, the first time. read more

There are 2 sides to this business: The office, who you deal with to schedule, and the group of women who come and actually do the cleaning. The only reason I can give this place more than 1 star is the women who came to do the cleaning. They were efficient and my house has never been cleaner. However, the front office was horrible. My brother got me a gift certificate for Christmas after I had a baby. I FINALLY got around to scheduling it in mid-August. I emailed the address on the certificate and got a reply that they needed my confirmation code. When I replied that there was no confirmation code on anything my brother had received from them, the reply was that they'd have to look it up to confirm the payment amount. A week later I called again, and they were still looking. It was PayPal. I had told them the exact date of the transaction. Finally, I just had my brother forward me the PayPal receipt (took less than 5 minutes for him to get it to me.) So finally, it looks like I'm actually going to be able to schedule after multiple calls and emails, some of which were not returned. In speaking with Edda, we determine that I will be put on the schedule for Monday 9/10 in the afternoon, and I made it clear to her that this was a day off for me but I would need to have the crew out of my house by 4:00 so I could pick up my daughter from day care. I hung up assuming all was good. Friday before my cleaning, I get an email at 1:00. They had never gotten my home address. I replied as soon as I saw it (3:00) and asked for confirmation for Monday with a more concrete time frame. No reply. Called twice Monday morning and finally got someone. My home was not on the schedule for that day. I had sent my daughter to day care and cleared my afternoon for this, and I was livid. The woman on the phone was nice, and apologized because Edda was on vacation, and said they could "accommodate" me that afternoon. I explained that actually following through on the commitment from 2 weeks prior is not a favor, it's good business. The women came around 1:45, cleaned for 2 hours, did a spectacular job, and were on their way right when i needed them to be. But the overall experience? HORRIBLE customer service from the office. I emailed Edda that same day and how upset I was, and 10 days later, I still have not received a response from her. She managed to turn a nice gesture from my brother into a time consuming and frustrating ordeal. read more

Please make sure you get the appointment as promised by them because if they don't show up they still charge you the $96 and then tell you it was already on the books, so they couldn't take the charge off in time!( Seriously, what kind of B.S excuse is that!!) OK, I'm visiting my parents from Los Angeles, CA. So, I went on google and see what cleaning service is available here in Gaithersburg and I saw Lilly's- I wish I never called. Anyways, I called this past Friday and a person by the name of claudia answered and she scheduled me for 12:30PM to 1:30PM, well 1:30PM came around and no one showed up. I called and she put me on hold, then came back and told me that their team was running late, then gave me the run around on the phone, then told me she was going to call me back. So I waited for around 10-15 minutes, she calls back and tells me that their team got caught up at another job,,,,,blah,,,blah,,,blah they couldn't make it at all!! Now, mind you I had already given her my credit card# and claudia promised me no charges were going to happen until their cleaning crew showed up. She told me there was no other crew available for the day and I would have to wait until next Monday. I told her forget it and take my name and my credit card# off their system, Claudia assured me she would NOT charge me and everything was going to be fine. Well, so of course I see a charge of $96 to my card. I called Lily's right away today and told the same girl Claudia the situation, she again put me on hold, finally come back after 5 minutes and gived me the most B.S explaination I've ever heard!! Explanation: My OP manager did not have enough time to stop the charge because you were already on the books for scheduled cleaning. WHAT???,,,,What cleaning??!! Your company didn't even care to call me first to tell me that my originally scheduled 12:30 to 1:30 was cancelled!! I had to call and find out myself!! BTW, as a upset customer I told Claudia that I am never going to use them again and I was going to write a very nasty review on Yelp and her reponse was very obnoxious and was like OK FINE, go ahead. Seriously for someone to purposefully fraudulently charge you for work that was never intended to be done, this company should be investigated. NOW,,,,,this is where you consumers have to be very careful about bait n switch companies like Lily's cleaning. They will take your credit card# and charge you even though they know they are already booked up for that specific day or date. They will offer you another day to do the cleaning. That is the oldest trick in the book, take the money first then explain later and hopefully customer won't be upset and just take it. I have been a Lilly's customer for almost 2 years and can tell you that they are completely trustworthy, reliable and professional. I have used them for post-move -out and pre-move - in cleaning at 2 locations and regularly scheduled cleaning at my current home. One of the things I like the most is the level of customer service I receive, including the weekly reminder calls. The crew is always the same, so they know how I like my home to be cleaned and they are always kind to my pets. Every crew has a supervisor, so I know the job will get done the right way. I haven't had to complain yet, but if I called them to say I was unhappy, I'm sure they would make it right! Never anything missing or broken. We have been using Lily's for about 12 yeas on an every-other-week basis and have been very happy. The crews , and Lilly's works hard to ensure consistency in crew assignments,are very friendly and polite and waste no time when they are here. The office gives us a time frame and the crew has arrived within that time frame 99 percent of the time. They have always bent over backwards to accommodate our schedule change requests. There have only been one or two times in 12 years where they have not been able to reschedule for us. And in those 12 years we have only has four rate raises. We have had three cleanings from Lilly's to date and each have exceeded my expectations. Lillys has certainly made my life a lot easier as my husband and I are both busy professionals and I travel a lot for work--leaving little time for housework. Though our house isn't a disaster, Lilly's helps gives the house a deep clean feel by doing a deep dive in our problem areas: kitchen, bathrooms and hardwood floors and dusting. UPDATE: After a few apologetic calls from Lilly's asking me to give them a second chance, including one from the owner, against my better judgment I decided to give them that chance, talked to the manager, let them know we had reservations but were willing to give them another shot. Their crew came out and... I just have no other way to say it, they did a lousy job. They weren't even going to clean in the master bedroom until I made a point of asking, and then they just briefly ran the vacuum around a bit. The crew seemed sullen -- I don't know whether they were the same group that caused the problem, or what, but they were barely there an hour and a half, which is much less than we had paid for. In any case we're done with them. I'd avoid them. Original review: They think it's ok to show up to your empty house, find your spare key, and let themselves in, without even talking to you first, let alone scheduling the cleaning. The quality of their cleaning has also deteriorated over the four months we employed them. And even though I speak some Spanish, they are very hard to understand. Long version: I started out with Lilly's Cleaning Service about four months ago. The first time they came in and did an amazing job and my wife and I were very happy with the results. Both my wife and I have jobs that make it difficult to have a fixed monthly schedule for a cleaning service to come, so we made arrangements that we would call them on a monthly basis. The second time they came the cleaning was not as good, but still adequate -- they pressed us to make a fixed monthly schedule for them and we declined. The third time they just called us and told us they wanted to come the next day; it wasn't ideal for us but we made the arrangement. Their cleaning crew was four hours late (I ended up calling the manager, who had no idea that they'd never arrived) and when they did arrive they spent a lot of time chattering with each other and not as much actually getting stuff clean; the quality of their work had degraded further. Between my wife and I we decided that we'd give them another shot anyway because sometimes people have a bad day. The last time, they apparently left a voicemail with my wife telling us they wanted to come out on the following Monday. She never saw the message, and more importantly, she never answered it. Monday comes and I get a call from Lilly's asking if we were expecting a cleaning today and I said no, they asked me again if I wanted to make a regular schedule and I said no again, explaining the situation for the third time. Cutting to the chase I get home -- and THE MAIDS HAD BEEN TO MY LOCKED HOUSE, LOOKED AROUND AND FOUND THE SPARE KEY, LET THEMSELVES IN, and had actually started cleaning before they left. Not even a phone call asking, first. They'd apparently been in the house already before anyone thought to call. Now, I do understand that some people probably do slip a spare key under the door mat for the maids and they're fine with having the maids show up and let themselves in. I can't make it plain enough that we never consented to anything even close to that, nor would we; on the contrary, we consistently made it plain that there were to be no automatically scheduled cleanings, and that we needed to be there on cleaning days, and Lilly's agreed to that. There was no contract, no schedule, nothing of the sort. I wasn't even aware there was a spare key under the mat, as my wife had left it there for another reason. If I was aware it was there, I would have put it inside -- and neither of us would have told them it was ok to use it. I also understand that communication issues happen and that the cleaning crew might not have understood that no one had confirmed or even talked to Lilly's about them coming out on Monday. I understand that when you have low-paid labor coming to do stuff for you that stuff might not happen in an optimum fashion, and that's ok. Like most people I've had lousy jobs too, and I understand how it is. What kills me is the bit where they show up, and find no one's home and the doors are locked, and without even thinking to call me, let alone waiting for permission, they just decide to look for a spare key, find it, let themselves in to my locked house and go to work. Low paid or not, poor communication skills or not, that's just such a remarkably bad choice to make that even aside from the fact it was illegal, and it was a violation of our privacy, I wouldn't want someone with that poor of judgment working for me. To boot: when I call the manager to complain, I get told that she's unavailable and that the supervisor I usually speak with is not there and won't be back until some undefined time next week. I could barely understand the person who answered the phone, but I think it was the same person who called me after the maids had already let themselves in. read more

I had 3 wonderful ladies in last week for the first time. We have a large home; and let me say it was beyond dirty. I'd been laid up with a broken leg and was unable to clean. The did an AMAZING job. I finally broke down and hired a service to perform a one time cleaning so I could have the house in order for a showing the next day, my house is for sale. Anyhow, they arrived on time, had 3 ladies, my house isn't that big and already neat. I found that the ceiling fans were still thick with dust in two rooms, the kitchen cabinets weren't wiped clean, dust still on hanging pictures, walls weren't wiped down in the bathrooms, and a few other things. So I had to clean it before the showing. I contacted the service to advise of the issues, expecting at least a discount, they offered to have them come back to finish. That was an inconvenience for me due to work and having the need to lock up my cat again, who was already stressed due to their presence and noise. So the answer was no. Again, I just expected some sort of discount so when I saw the charge to my credit card which showed the highest quote charged, I was not pleased. They sales rep was told to tell me no refund, I didn't expect a refund, at least a discount for the work I had to do to make the job complete. I don't appreciate this type of business so therefore will not recommend. read more

Lilly's Cleaning Service has cleaned my multi-level townhouse for the past year. The same crew of 3 women have been cleaning my house for 1 year. They arrive on time, start immediately, and complete the entire house in one hour (3 man-hours total). They dust (including baseboards, chandelier, standing lamps, tops of hanging paintings, window sills, etc.), vacuum, mop bathroom and kitchen floors, clean all bathrooms thoroughly, and clean the kitchen (including microwave, stove, sink, etc.). They change the bedding on the master bed. I am present during the cleaning, and I see how efficient they are. The work is divided up beforehand, which speeds it up. They remember me and how I like things done, and they are careful not to upset my cat. And on top of good service, they are cheerful! I couldn't believe they were so efficient, but I see the results both where I am sitting, and in the other rooms afterward. I am very happy with the cleaning service. read more
