We loved Merry Piglets!! We spent Christmas in Jackson Hole with our tiny family of 12 and when walking around I remember hearing of this place and we decided to eat a late lunch here!! They were awesome, friendly and it our service was so fast! The chips and salsa were good!! One of my daughters got the fajita salad and it was delicious!! I got the chicken spinach enchilada and I really liked them BUT another daughter got the enchilada plate but the veggie enchilada plate and I was super jealous. This Mexican restaurant in the middle of Jackson is one of the better restaurants to visit while in Jackson/Grand Teton area. Although it is in the middle of the tourist town, the prices here aren't ridiculously overpriced like some other restaurants, taking advantage of the tourism. The food here overall is pretty good too, pretty tasty and "authentic" mexican food. When you get seated, they will bring you chips and salsa, similar to a lot of other mexican restaurants. We were starving so we started eating them immediately and the server was continuously bringing us more and more as we waited for our food. The food didn't take too long to come out either and the restaurant was busy. During COVID times, the area is over populated with tourist, but the restaurant was operating and still able to maintain as much distance from others as possible. read more

Go bye the Merry Piglets. We came by just for a drink and ended up staying for dinner. Anka was our server. Very nice and made some excellent recommendations. The salsa is homemade and you could almost make a meal out of that by itself. As a salsa lover myself, highly recommend the salsa, and I even attempted to buy a jar to take home. The queso dip was also very excellent. After a few cocktails, we decided to break into a quesadilla Asada. Came out in approximately eight minutes and was done just right. It had no rice and hardly any black beans (refer to the pictures to be disappointed) Our kids food (kids chicken fingers) were so greasy! We also got the quesadilla. The wait time to get a table wasn't too bad, but the wait time to get our order was another story. When we finally got to order, we had to hunt down a waiter just to get utensils. By the time our food arrived, it was cold, and the beans on the side had zero seasoning. The tortilla tasted like something you might find at any grocery store. Considering Jackson is a tourist town, that's what I expected so I am happy they met my expectations. Our waitress was so amazing and everything was quick. Great service, but it's definitely ~American~ food, or Americanized-Mexican food. If that's what you like, you might like it here! I did however end up feeling extremely nauseous from the pork and my brother in law I later found out also had a pork chimichanga and had a hard time recovering from the meal as well. I don't want to blame it on the pork, but if I were to ever go back I might stick to the veggie taco, which was actually pretty good. Overall, it was unnecessarily crowded. Other than the service I'm not sure why this place is so popular. It's right on the main strip, so there are people everywhere and the dinner wait is way too long. This was our favorite joint in Jackson. We discovered it during the middle of our trip and fell in love with the food and service that we decided to come back. Even though it's indoor seating, merry piglets does a great job spacing everyone out. They try to social distance the best that they can, which I appreciated. We sat at the bar and was served by a lovely waiter (Andy, if you're reading this, you were so great, thank you). We were immediately given fresh hot chips and salsa. Chips were hot and crispy, salsa was fresh and delicious. We ordered the twisted cowgirl dip both times we came. It looked stunning through Yelp photos and it lived up to the hype. Queso with beef and a scoop of guacamole... a party in a small bowl. This was probably the highlight of the meal, winning by a very shy amount. We ordered the Chile poblano Tex mex dish that comes with rice and and beans, enchilada Tex mex dish and chimichanga dish. Portions are big and everything is cooked so well. Lots of cheese in and on everything. What's not to love? Rice and beans might have been my favorite part and the poblanos stuffed with cheese was the best I've ever eaten. We ordered a bean crisp, which is lilt s tostado with refried beans on top. We also ordered a fish taco - that was my least favorite of the bunch but by no means was it bad. We finished off the meal with the sopapillas -- similar to beignets, with lots of whipped cream on the side. We were very full each night we ate here but I miss it already. The restaurant had very, very good vibes all around. The color scheme and the mood was on point. The food was amazing, fried in sustainable fats, very much appreciated that I ordered the fajitas, they are very intricately put together the flavors were amazing, the steak was delicious but the chicken fell a little dry the only reason this place wanna get five stars is due to the bad service. It started off very well. Got seated in a decent amount of time but we did not get waters for almost 10 minutes. After we got the waters, the waiter happened to leave a bit of spillage on the table. Angering one of my dear friends. He did not return with napkins or utensils for another 15 minutes. I was very disappointed. Other than that, the food came out in good time. But we had gone almost 25 minutes without him checking in on us for water refills. By then my mouth already felt like the Sahara desert and the dude did not seem to pick up on my social cues. You eventually ended the drought, but not after suffering for several minutes. Other than that I have no further complaints. They had a pre-included 20% tip in the bill, but I do not feel like he deserved that I was very impressed with the quality and cleanliness of the bathrooms. And overall was a decent experience with very good food. I feel that it very much deserves this four star review would go again if waiter was a little better. read more

Been here now 4 times and I tried different things each time - tacos, enchiladas, taco salad and carne asada. This last trip was the enchilada and crispy taco. Enchilada was supposed to have different cheeses, Fresca and more. It was horrible. No flavor and the cheese was cheddar melted basically in a microwave. To top it off the "crispy" taco was laid down in the red sauce making one side soggy - the other issue is that the taco shell was worse than a taco bell shell. It was a store bought Ortega shell. Horrible. Also to top it off - the waitress never refilled drinks because we were stuck in the back with plenty of kitchen noise and the bathrooms. FYI we were the only ones in the back. Won't be going back - very commercial and lacks authenticity. read more

Someone on our Yellowstone tour recommended Merry saying what great margaritas they had so we stopped in for a couple and some salads. First I had the Top Shelf and it was mediocre, then I had an upgraded Piglets margarita and it was too strong. The basket of tortilla chips they brought out were bits of chips and the salsa was a little sweet so I asked for spicy and it was so much better- creamy and green- really good. They brought out more chips and while some were whole, most underneath were bits of chipsMy husband had a Bloody Maria which was very tasty. We each had the fajita salad-me, the chicken and him, the al pastor. The salads were good but a bit heavy on the meat side. I've had so many excellent Mexican meals that I just couldn't give this place more than 3 stars and I totally don't get the name and the theme. read more

The food here isn't great so I don't get the overall star rating for this restaurant. My husband couldn't finish his enchiladas, they were so gross. He said the rice tasted like the rice served in a school lunch. My fajitas were bland. Chicken fajitas shouldn't be white. They should have a nice amount of tasty seasoning. The odd thing is we joined the waitlist and when we arrived we were asked if we wanted to sit at the bar and then had to wait for a table. It was weird. When we were finally seated they put us in the back by the bathrooms and kitchen. The clanging of silverware ruined the vibe and made it difficult to have a conversation. There was a blonde lady, who was coughing all over the place and into her hands near the food that was coming out and then she proceeded to fiddle with the silverware. GROSS.
