Been coming here for years. The food keeps getting worse. At one time this was an iconic restaurant in Jackson. Never again!

After a day of hiking in Grand Teton National Park, we were in the mood for Tex-Mex and found ourselves at The Merry Piglets. The menu offers classic American Mexican dishes that are really well done, with the carne asada being particularly tasty. Prices are reasonable too. We were seated in the back of the dining room, which was a bit warm, but the food was fantastic regardless. We'll definitely return next time we're in Jackson. read more

We came in based on the reviews. I'm so glad we did. We came in early and were promptly seated. But I could see how it could be a very busy place. This was easily our best meal of our week of eating out most nights. You can scan a code and pull up the menu on your smart phone. Our server brought us water and chips and salsa as soon as she came over. The chips and salsa were really good and the bowl of salsa she brought us was huge. Our server was super friendly and checked on us often. Five star service for sure. A manager also came by and made sure that our meal was great. I ordered a strawberry margarita and my husband and daughter ordered regular ones on the rocks. Mine was so very good. Sweet and not overly strong. There were four of us. Two of us ordered the rice bowl with steak and my husband and son ordered the carne asada burrito. The rice bowl looked great and tasted even better. The steak was plentiful and the flavor of the steak was really good. We couldn't eat it all. My guys thoroughly enjoyed their burritos also. I'm only sad that we head home tomorrow or we would be coming back in for sure. read more

Excellent food. Chimichangas were very good. Sauces were very tasty as well. Aras was our server and he worked really hard to please us. Nice restaurant with a bar. Plenty of seating. We sat in a booth that was open to the outside! read more

Ok.... we've been here 5 times in the last few weeks and find ourselves wanting to try more, or just go back for some Cowgirl Dip!! Service was good, we like Tex Mex, it's not amazing but it was good. Only complaint was the red sauce, really thick and just not good ( for my taste buds) The best taco was the Al pastor by far but the Al carbon was a close second. The burrito bowl was good choice also. read more

I wanted to love this place but compared to other food in Jackson it was average. They tried to charges us $4 to a tiny bit of rice in my daughter's bean burrito which seemed extreme.I ordered a queso. He never asked which size and brought a large which was way to big for our family. Cute atmosphere thought. Their sister restaurant Libery Burgers upstairs is fantastic. read more

Stopped in for quick lunch after arriving in Jackson on Sunday around 1 pm. It seemed like kitchen was slow, but then all the nearby tables who ordered after us were served their meals. We asked server and got "out soon". This continued and eventually we learned from our server that the kitchen had "made a mistake". We waited a bit more (by now table next to us who came in 20 minutes after us was finished) for total of maybe 45 minutes and decided that we didn't want to wait until lunch became dinner. How on earth can anyone ever like this place. You've clearly never been to Texas or California, heck you've never been south anywhere. This place is disgusting, over priced, crowded and clueless. The salsa is nasty, the queso is just plain cheese trash. Get a grip. Awful. read more

We had a Mexican place picked out to try in Jackson, but when we got there, we found out they were closed for three days. We were still in the mood for Mexican, so we ended up here. Covid-19: you can order and pay over the phone. You have to go inside to sign your receipt and pick up your food. The outside side walk area around the restaurant was very crowded too when we were waiting for our food to be ready. We got the Twisted Cowgirl Dip, the Cheese Chile Relleno plate with green chile sauce, and the Wendell Special Quesadilla with shredded beef. They also served the takeout with chips and salsa which was nice. Everything was ok, but not great. The Twisted Cowgirl Dip was my favorite of the bunch. Maybe it's because we had really amazing Mexican in Denver with the best green chile sauce, but it just didn't impress me. It wasn't bad, I just couldn't get excited about it. Prices definitely felt inflated to me. Most plates were $16-$20. From what I've read, this seems similar to most places in Jackson. I'd say I would try to find somewhere else when in Jackson, but I get the idea that slightly overpriced just ok food is what you find in Jackson. read more

Such a fun atmosphere! The restaurant is super colorful. Free, unlimited chips and salsa that was amazing! We ate three baskets. Food items were slightly pricy but very tasty. Service was good but a little slow. read more

The ambience is so cute and the service is always good. We always eat at this restaurant when we are in Jackson because it's so good. On our most recent visit, they made a mistake on my order, and even though they offered to rectify the situation (which I declined) and they checked back several times to make sure I was happy, they still credited me most of my meal. I told them I didn't expect that at all but they insisted. The server was great and the manager (young man) was so friendly and helpful. Jackson's longest running Mexican restaurant is delicious! From the Taco truck: I ordered 2 chicken tacos according to their website their chicken is pasture raised, no antibiotics or hormones. The skirt steak taco was my favorite. Soft, chewy, marinated steak. Yummy! I ordered a side of rice but the beans came complimentary. And the chips!!! Their tortilla chips are made fresh daily and it was a whole bag full!! The salsa was a little spicy but went so well with the fresh chips. Must try in Jackson! read more

Generally a vegetarian can count on a Mexican restaurant for options but this is definitely not a place for vegetarians. Perhaps it's a new change for this Blue Collar Restaurant Group since so many reviews tout the vegetarian options but everything is fried in beef tallow and the majority of sauces have chicken stock (as does the sour cream???) Asked for a spinach quesadilla with chipotle sauce (only one without chicken stock) and it came out swimming in green sauce (with chicken stock). Finally got a correcr order and it wasn't bad. S.O. (not a vegetarian) got chicken and spinach enchiladas and said they were good and authentic. When we got the bill they took off the spinach quesadillas, so props for and that! read more

Stopped in for some nachos on a snowy day. Being from South Texas I was impressed with the chips and salsa. The nachos were good, but I wished I'd ordered the ground beef instead of the shredded beef. Was thinking it would be fajitas. It was like a shredded roast. read more

The food here is more Tex than Amex, there was zucchini and broccoli in the burrito bowl! I got the taco salad which was good, but nothing to write home about. So glad I took the time to find parking in this small touristy crowded town. Because if not, I wouldn't have found this delicious Tex-Mex restaurant. Everything tasted fresh and flavorful. You can see the busy kitchen with smoke and flame because of all the grilling. The interior was decorated with cute piglets. Decided to try the Tex-Mex Burrito with steak because it was a popular dish. The steak had a well marinated flavor and was juicy, tender. The steak came in larger pieces too. They give free salsa and chips which both tasted very fresh. Makes me wonder if they actually fry the tortilla chips themselves. The waiter helped us choose delicious items and was polite when we asked for more time to look at the menu since it was our first time. Salsa was good but a bit hot for me (I'm a baby when it comes to spicy stuff) we sat near the kitchen window so I could see all the food that went out. Everything looked great. We're from Texas, and I'm not sure why we decided to go to a Tex-Mex place in a resort town of Wyoming. But I'm so glad we did! They've got it together. Ambiance is eclectic with pig paintings everywhere, staff is friendly, margaritas are ON POINT (and they are not playing when they say spicy), and even the queso was really great. My husband considers himself a queso connoisseur and was very impressed. We were able to snag a window seat and I think it's the best seat in the house. Windows wide open, no bugs, great view! This Tex-Mex was amazing! I had the Piglet sampler, and everything was tasty. They have delicious chips, I would say their salsa is slightly bland, but that is all I think could be improved. The mashed pinto beans were delicious and a meal of their own. I highly recommend trying this place out if in Jackson. read more

They start you off with water and chips and salsa. The tacos were overall good for texmex. I wish they had Mexican sodas however there spicy margaritas are great. I am used to more authentic tacos, however for being texmex, it was decent. Service was okay. I recognize they probably get seasonal employees however the server we got was being trained (second day) and her trainer was a guy and didn't seem very helpful and had a slight attitude. The ambiance as a whole was fun! It gets crowded since it is off the main strip of restaurants. Queso was probably my favorite part. read more

Very good Tex mex in the middle of Wyoming! My Texan spouse was very pleased! The kids menu delivered as well with great quesadillas. I'm from Miami, and i live in homestead where i get lots of Mexican and tex mex food versions. I must say i was so pleasantly surprised. The margarita was on point. Amd that salsa, awesome!!!! It was spicy but not to much. The guacamole was also good, i just didn't get a picture of that one. The tacos were very tasty and filling. I got the a la cart. Pastor was my favorite but the mahi mahi was also great. Al carbon is veggies, which was good, but i could've tried something else. But taco meat was DISGUSTING, saw an employee not wash his hands after using the bathroom, and was pretty expensive (over $110 with tip for Family of 4 (5 & 9yo)). Terrible customer service, terrible wait service, okay food. Came in for lunch with my family. Being a large party, we expect to have to wait for a table, longer food times, etc. Both girls at the hostess stand were rude and acted like it was an inconvenience when I asked to be placed on the wait list. Waited an hour for a table, finally got seated, then had to wait 30 minutes before we even got drinks. Two people at the table had avocado rinds in their food. Waitress was slow and didn't seem to care about providing good, or even decent, service. 10/10 WOULD NOT recommend. After traveling all day, my wife and I were starving and decided to have our first meal in Jackson, Wyoming at Merry Piglets. My wife loves Mexican food and she said this place gets good reviews. We arrived about 4:30pm on a Saturday and it was not very busy. We decided to have a seat at the bar and were handed menus given a big basket of warm chips and a huge bowl of salsa. The salsa is a chunky type. My wife ordered a strawberry margarita and I had a local IPA by Roadhouse Brewery. Our waitress checked on us while we perused the menu. My wife ordered the Tex-Mex burrito and I chose the chicken quesadilla both with the green chili sauce. We enjoyed the chips and salsa and our meals arrived in a timely manner and looked great! My wife said here burrito was delicious! The chicken quesadilla was really good too. We both really liked the green chili sauce. Really great Jackson Hole vibe! The food is fantastic with a host of local in house sauces. I got the steak burrito with chipotle sauce and it is really great with smoke flavor undertones. The rest of our party had the taco enchilada and quesadilla plates with other custom sauces and they loved it all. Malina our server was incredible and was right on point with chips and follow up. On beverages and water. Her cheerful and friendly service is definitely worthy of a raise. read more

Man this place is pretty okay but definitely overpriced and has gone downhill. Side note we questioned the waiter about the tacos and he pointed to one specifically that wasn't spicy for the lady I was with, and it was super spicy I traded her my food and loved the spicy tacos so it worked out but I asked him about it after wondering if he was maybe joking and he just definitely made some bs up on the spot when we asked in the first place, kinda weird. read more
