    Peach and Huckleberry Cobbler

I have to start off by saying atmosphere and food were great! First night in town looking for something fun and easy, before we head to Yellowstone tomorrow am. This place looked cute. Was very busy but they sat us quickly! We received our waters immediately, then it went south. We sat there a good 15 plus minutes with no one coming by. Finally a woman who seemed like a hostess asked if anyone had seen us yet and we said no. She asked us for our drink order and we had not received one so she brought one over. She took our order and came back with the drinks quickly and took our order. We didn't wait too long and got our dinner from another waiter. No one came to check on us over dinner. We had to flag another waiter down for refills. Then we had to flag a gentleman down to ask for dessert menus and again when it was time for the check. It felt like there was no one specifically for our table. We were in the back corner and felt like no one cared to stop over and take our table. That being said when we were helped the staff members were kind. Of the whole meal the desserts were exceptional! Banana Croissant Pudding and Peach and Huckleberry Cobbler! Our party had French onion soup, very good, a burger with steak fries, a club sandwich and a very fresh berry salad with goat cheese! Berries were perfect! So food wise and atmosphere are worth going there! I'll chalk the rest up to an off night. It would have been a solid 4 without this issue. There are so many restaurant in downtown Jackson Hole to explore but I wouldn't write this one off just yet.

It's a laid-back bar with live country and bluegrass music most nights. Even though it has its rustic Western vibe, it somehow manages to be bright and colorful, especially in the bar area. The silver dollar collection is honestly pretty impressive. This is also a historical bar with decades of outlaw history. It also has some beautiful Western photography and artwork. And the service? It was friendly.

Amazing service and food. Our waitress was super friendly and service was quick. I must note the spinach dip- absolutely amazing flavor especially with the slight hint of jalapeño. For the other entries it was a great pick. Definitely a cute bar scene with live music in the evening. A great stop in JH!

Bar, late night atmosphere with bar food classics. The menu looked promising, but when our food came to the table we were instantly disappointed. The food was all processed and previously frozen. So many better options in Jackson, skip if you're thinking of coming here for a meal.

Drove into town around 9pm on a Thursday night and thought we could find someplace to eat. Struck out at three different places but a quick Yelp search fixed that. Not a lot of options and we chose the busiest place. If you like live music, this IS the place. Great cover band that was awesome. Busy with lots of people at the bars and dance floor. We were here for food and asked the waitress what the favorites were. She said the burger, so, the burger it was. The back bar has tables for dining and a separate bar with lots of TV's with sports on. Decent cocktails but nothing fancy or special. Good wine list and you can buy a bottle and take it out. Burger was ok but I chose Gouda cheese which made a difference. I'm normally not a "bun" guy (cough, cough) but the bun was absolutely delish. I don't know where they get them but it was one of the best. Onion rings and sweet potatoe fries were standard. Waitress was all business but good. She had a lot to cover.

Was looking for a nice bar for a few cocktails and came across The Silver Dollar. We walked in and took a seat at the bar. The other option of seating were table but it's always more fun seating at the bar and meeting new people. The bartender was very friendly and delivered our drinks with a smile. I ordered a mule and my husband a draft beer. Both were very tasty. The bar top is decorated in sliver dollars thus the name of the bar. A few televisions were playing baseball and soccer games. We decided to order chips and dip. The guac was perfectly made, and the salsa was delicious. The dish was filled with chips so many that we were unable to finish them. When in Jackson you must stop in.

First off, we didn't eat here. We only came for the vibes and live music. Did not disappoint! These folks are serious about the cowboy shuffle and let me tell you, they are a sight to see. You talk about intimidated! These folks get down, in the country world. They know what they're doing so don't get in their way. The bartender from Turkey was amazing. Being the only guy there with a full house, was well orchestrated and had it under control. Tip that man well! Wished we were in Jackson Hole longer to repeat.

Cute restaurant bar in the cuter Wort Hotel. Made early reservations and sat in a booth. The bar area was fully packed. Had a burger and a gyro, which were average. Maybe other items were better as I could see steaks on tables around me, but couldn't say for sure. It has a cute Western vibe, but not sure if I'd revisit for the food.

    Bison and Smoked Garlic Chili*
    Apex S.

Oh my god. Their bison chili with smoked garlic. YUM! The depth of different flavors and the way they combine is simply mouthwatering. The cheese on top helps tone it down but it is also a fantastic addition. We only stopped by for the small soup because it was one of the winners in the chili contest in the past few years and we wanted to give it a try. I'm glad we did. We got a small cup to go, went to the park and relished (read: inhaled) this wonderfully made soup. Would 10/10 recommend the bison chili and I wouldn't say no to the recipe! Staff was friendly and service was quick, the soup only took a few minutes to be ready.

The signature silver dollars make this bar special. My husband was particularly impressed with the NY Mets game playing on all the televisions. We're eating our way through Jackson Hole. We shared Wildgame meatballs here made with ground bison and elk with balsamic barbecue sauce and white cheddar, delicious! We washed them down with Wind River Blonde local craft beer. The bar is in the historic Wort Hotel. Merch is sold in the hotel lobby . The Silver Dollar Bar got its name from the 2,032 uncirculated 1921 Morgan Silver Dollars inlaid into the bar.

Very yummy biscuit and butter! Would like to go back and try their other breakfast items as well. The seating and bar inside is very cute.

Famous Corn Chowder - don't let the cheese layer scare you! It is delicious!!

5 Walked in and was immediately acknowledged and sat down. Kind & helpful staff! Loved watching a little hockey on the tv while enjoying a FABULOUS Buffalo burger & fries and a nice cold lager! Had the appetizer Corn Chowder and we both loved the flavor. Loved the food and experience that we only had 3 days in Jackson Hole and ate here twice!!!! Highly Recommend!!

The Silver Dollar Bar on N. Glenwood St. in Jackson, Wyoming located in the Wort Hotel is a historic property dating back to 1941 and is located right on the main drag in town. The bar serves everything from soups and salads, and sandwiches. But also has a delicious dining room menu, which includes steak fish, and wild game. I thought service was good and my drink tasted good as well.

Ask the Community - The Silver Dollar Bar & Grill

If I have a reservation on the Grill side, would I be able to hear the live music that's scheduled to perform?

    Yes

Will there be a thanksgiving buffet this year? We hear from a local that it's a must try when in town. Also, is it kid friendly (for a 3 year old)?

Doesn’t appear that they have posted their Thanksgiving menu yet, but the venue itself seems to be kid friendly.

    Dress code here?

Casual all the way. But if one happens to be dressed up, you'll fit in as well. A great spot!

The so called General Tso steak sauce was like a thimbleful smear and completely irrelevant. BBQ Ramen seasoning? Not even enough to get a taste profile of it. The trout with a green curry sauce was good but again, ummmm.... Trout has a subtle flavor. Green curry coconut sauce, and stuffed with another type of Asian something something....might as just as well better to use a neutral tasting fish like a better quality tilapia imho. Let trout taste like trout. Use a different, neutral tasting fish for these kinds of sauces and fillings. Well at least it wasn't covered with a garnish of micro greens lol. Just a little cilantro heh heh heh. I mean don't get me wrong. Both entrees were okay. But a waste of quality fish when a less costly fish would have been fine what with all those other flavors. And the foam and powder embellishments on the steak were barely noticeable. The whole menu reads like a community college cooking school graduate little bit of this little bit of that. When I get home I'm going to have fun writing the different components of all the menu items on index cards, shuffle, and see what combinations come up each time. And I love the idea of a General Tso steak sauce and want to try creating one. And using a packet of Ramen seasoning instead of Cajun seasoning sounds like a fun thing to try. I just won't do it on a fifty dollar piece of meat. If you are counting calories you skip the gross doughnut hole dessert. Dense ball of dough. Gummy. Like they used a cake doughnut recipe instead of a yeast doughnut or beignet recipe. But if not counting calories , go for it. It's fun to try the sauces, even if not that great a doughnut. Unfortunately, the bar was painfully slow. Our first round of drinks took about 15 minutes, and the second took closer to 30 minutes after ordering. We eventually had to check in to make sure they were even coming. The food was fine, but not something we'd come back for. The elk pasta lacked the depth and richness you expect from a bolognese. The trout--poblano stuffed and curry-prepared--was an interesting idea, but the curry completely overpowered the fish, making the dish feel unbalanced. We had curry-dusted trout at The Blue Lion earlier in the week that was far better. (One of the best trout meals I've ever had.)

Filet was perfectly cooked to my medium request, tender, and perfectly seasoned. They tout USDA prime meats, and I have no doubt that's what they serve. Hubs ordered his steak be served on their 600 degree salt block, and he was a bit hesitant that it could easily be overcooked. It arrived at the table, he removed the steak from the extremely hot salt block and each piece he placed back on the salt block before eating. I actually did the same with several pieces of my steak. I was amazed at the additional flavor this salt block added to an already delicious filet! Our shared sides were very good, too. My husband, the cookie lover, ordered the chocolate chip cookie à la mode which is served fresh from the oven in a small cast iron skillet. I had a hard time keeping my spoon out of his delicious dessert - so glad he shares. We were seated quickly and our server was very helpful making recommendations. Service was friendly and seemed local. 1. Seasonal veggies - Cauliflower, carrots and brussel sprouts. Made in butter, it had a great taste. 2. 12 oz NY Strip (MT) - Served on a sizzling salt block. Had it rare and by the time it cooked on the block, it was more medium-rare to medium. Nice salt/pepper seasoning. Clean tasting! 3. Fries - Standard fries but comes in a large amount! Crispy. Overall, a great place to try at least once if you want a new steakhouse.
