MPMG I'm not that happy with you. The frozen margarita pina colada, tasted like a frothy frozen mix, purchased from a grocery store. Other than a zip of heat, the queso dip lacked a saucy consistency and the blended cheese was ho-hum. The green chili sauce was oddly glutinous, mild and absent of any discernable spice. A grilled shrimp taco - small shrimp, not grilled, accompanied by bagged cabbage slaw, no ginger, canned, brown pineapple bits with a small swirl of fire breathing guacamole sauce - sloppily plated. I was just stopping in Jackson for lunch and A Pokémon Go walk break when I passed by Merry Piglets. The first thing that caught my attention was the cool cantina like atmosphere and hand painted murals of pigs. It was busyish but it was still quick to get seating. We sat in the back and it had a nice cantina feel. The chips and salsa were plentiful and good. I split a large burrito with my wife and the in laws split enchilada plate. Everyone was full and the service was good. I have zero complaints about Merry Piglets and would go again when I return. read more

My favorite meal during my Jackson visit! The chips were plentiful and the salsa was just the right amount of heat. I ordered the Mexican Chopped salad with lime vinaigrette and it was fabulous--avocado, jicama, black beans and other yummy greens & veggies. Very friendly and quick service; comfortable seating with plenty of room for big groups, but I did not feel at all uncomfortable eating alone.They were having a Mezcal tasting the night I was there. Just overall a wonderful dining experience. And the prices are so reasonable!!! I knew it had to be good when the lady who owns the Pendleton store said she ate there yesterday, and again today! So good! We got in line on the app prior to arriving and our wait time was right on. Hostess and waitress were both very friendly. Most importantly the food was delicious! We had the chips, salsa and guacamole to start--so good! I had the mexi_chop salad with chicken, which I loved. My husband and kids all had the tacos. They tried the chicken, shredded beef, pork, and mahi_mahi. They said all were really good. Highly recommend! read more

Guacamole apparently just means mashed avocado and lime. No salt, no tomato, no onion, no cilantro. I know it's a Tex-mex place so I should assume it's americanized food...but c'mon. Guac has more than 2 freaking ingredients in it... read more

We arrived late so we were seated immediately. There were plenty of tables and it's right next to Liberty Burger. We started off with the taquitos - both beef and chicken were good and they were very crispy. Not a whole lot of flavor from the meats in them but the sour cream and guacamole helped. I had the sampler with ground beef and unfortunately it was incredibly salty and all parts of the sampler had the same meat. (Next time I'd choose chicken) Thankfully I had mostly filled up on the chips and salsa anyway. Chips are fried in-house and served warm with a nice salsa. It's Jackson so you always wait for A table but we could call in and get on waitlist which helps. Margarita was good - very strong though. Fajitas were good. Queso dip was good. The absolute best surprise of our trip to Jackson Wyoming. We were expecting good food..... but got amazing food.... The complementary salsa and chips were awesome... the beef tostada was unreal good!!!! Supper and a couple drinks were only around $60 bucks with a 20% tip to the waitstaff. Everything in Jackson is always busy, but we were able to get a table fairly quickly here (20ish minutes), and were excited to get our guacamole on. Our waiter was as attentive as he could be with the huge and demanding party next to us. They took pictures with him, and I'm pretty sure one of the ladies tried to get him to go home with her and her husband. It was... a lot. He handled it well though, and we didn't feel like his attention to us was lax. There are two sizes of guac and though we didn't ask for it, we got the larger (and more expensive!) size. Our fault for not specifying small, but a word of warning. State which one you want. We each had a rice bowl - one chicken and one beef - and they were each fine. The margarita and daquiri were tasty but a bit on the weak side. Nothing was bad here, it's just that nothing was particularly amazing either. We went bar hopping around Jackson on our vacation. Popped in here for a drink and a snack. Found 2 empty barstools, ordered some guacamole and a few spicy margaritas. This was a great looking Tex Mex restaurant we decided to visit after a long day exploring the city. They wasn't a wait when we arrived at 4:30pm. Careful when you go in, there are two restaurants that share the entrance. We walked into the wrong one accidentally. The chips and salsa alone were delicious and the margaritas were well made. Between the kids plates and the salads, fajitas and rice bowls that we ordered, we couldn't find any way to make it any better. In the middle of downtown, looking for a place to eat, we settled on Merry Piglets (we were all craving Mexican). A really enjoyable meal, with an AWESOME waitress (wish we'd gotten her name--so helpful, attentive, and friendly). The food was great, and I loved my chimichanga; although, there was maybe too much fat on the shredded beef inside (hence the four stars instead of five). Otherwise, everything was great! So hugely disappointing! I grew up in Jackson. Have been ordering Piglets' cheese crisps since they were located in the sidewalk cafe at Crabtree Corner. A cheese crisp was always a "special occasion" when I was younger and it continued to be a treat until today. The restaurant was loud and chaotic (to be expected) and the staff seemed to be unconcerned about their customers. We were one of 4 tables up in the front and our server delivered menus and then disappeared. When he came back he wanted to know if we knew what we wanted to eat. Once we ordered the meal portion of our visit there was no question about drinks. Not once. Didn't come back and ask. Brought water and our meals out shortly thereafter, leaving 3 glasses of water in front of one of us and leaving. Didn't ask if we wanted beverages. Didn't ask if we needed anything else (more water, hot sauce, sour cream, etc) just turned and left. Eventually he appeared and asked if we wanted dessert. Ummmm....no? How about the bill so we can leave as we are pretty much interfering in whatever the hell else you're doing?! The meal itself was disappointing-very little meat in the cheese crisp and what was there was fatty. Very little salsa. Very little lettuce. The prices have certainly gone up (it's Jackson, after all) but the food and the service have gone way, way down. read more
