3 bland tacos , beans and rice

Weekend in Jackson Hole, WY for an escape from the Phoenix heat. Little did I know that today in Jackson, it is blowing and snowing. I thought shoulder season meant milder temperatures, I was wrong. Half the restaurants here are on hiatus during the winter and spring. The pickens are slim and it took us three tries to find a lunch spot today. Merry Piglets Mexican Grill was not on the list but here we are, hungry. The staff was helpful and quickly seated us. The chips and salsa were tasty and quickly consumed. We placed an order of queso and more chips. The queso sauce was thin and lacked any spice. Three tacos: shrimp, el pastor and carne asada with beans and rice were also ordered. The meats and shrimp were good but scant. The tacos were not much more than meat and some onions. I was not left wanting more or satisfied with our selections. Merry Piglets Mexican Grill fills a need in the beautiful town of Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Of the many Mexican restaurants here, I don't feel the need to recommend or return here. I wish them well and can tell that the locals feel at home at MPMG.

Easy and quick to sit. Good chips and salsa. We shared the fajitas and they were delicious and definitely enough to share within two people. The place was bright and vibrant.

I must qualify. I was the recipe tester and researcher for Robb Walsh's The Tex-Mex Cookbook and I have traveled extensively in Mexico for 60 years, so my comments are from a different perspective than most. The guacamole was very good and I recommend it. The salsa was unmemorable, tasting more of canned diced tomatoes, and my personal preference would have been for roasted tomatoes and onions and garlic, with salt, vinegar and chiles. The tortilla soup was heavily cumin so if you don't like cumin, this is not for you. The recipe they have chosen is for more of a chicken tortilla mush. But it is not unlike others I have had. Ambiance is nice. Everyone super friendly. Great wall decor. I suspect that the recipes they have chosen are designed for clientele from all over but I would say, "Give your chefs an opportunity to offer something off menu as a special option". Some cookbooks to get ideas from are shown in photos.

The food was delicious! We also tried the Twisted Cowgirl Dip, and it was fantastic. The salsa was honestly some of the best I've had at a Mexican restaurant--fresh, flavorful, and addictive. Even though it was busy, there was no wait, and the service was quick and efficient. The atmosphere was fun, upbeat, and welcoming. We had a great experience and would definitely come back!

Was kind of busy when we got here so it took a minute for the server to come to our table. But once he did, he was super nice! So just pack some patience if they are busy. It's right on the tourist area of Jackson hole. On to the to the food - we order a taco plate that came with a selection of two of their tacos and chicken fajitas. Not pictured is the queso we had to return as it was almost a brick. No thanks. The rest of the meal was great. If back visiting, I would return.

There's nothing like a classic fajita!

Mary piglet is still one of our family favorites. It's hard to imagine a trip to Jackson without swinging by. The kids menu offer us a good variety for our little ones. The rest of us enjoy ordering off of the main menu. Warm chips and salsa are delivered within seconds of sitting down. The salsa has just the right kick and it warms us up as we wait for our meals. We tend to try a few different things and share. How can you not enjoy all the goodness and such a wonderful Festive environment.

Fun, Lively Spot for a Solid Mexican Meal Our teenage daughter was craving Mexican food before we hit the road home, so we stopped at Merry Piglets -- and it turned out to be a nice way to wrap up our time in Jackson. The environment is fun, lively, and relaxed -- great for families or a casual night out. The food was solid overall. My husband enjoyed his Taco Grande with beef -- generous and flavorful. I had the veggie bowl, which was good -- not amazing, but satisfying enough. The steak burrito was just okay. Our server, Sienna, was lovely -- warm, attentive, and made us feel welcome. Prices were reasonable, especially for Jackson. Wish I could give it 3.5 stars -- but rounding up for the great service and fun atmosphere. Overall, it's a dependable spot for casual Mexican food that's easygoing and enjoyable.

We stopped by Merry Piglets after walking around Jackson for a few hours. We got there around 4:00 so it was pretty empty. Our server was very attentive. They brought us their free chips and salsa. They also advertise that their food does not contain added seed oil. They fry their own chips each day. Sounds like they use beef tallow. Love that! You don't find many places willing to avoid using seed oils. The portion of the restaurant we sat in had a long skylight above us. Murals on the wall all have pigs in Mexican attire. It's an attractive atmosphere. We ordered the Wild Cowgirl Dip which became a family favorite. We also got the steak burrito, street tacos (kickin chicken and beef burria), and the carne asada burrito bowl. Everything was good. They also make their own sauces. Nice place for a good meal!

Honestly, was kinda disappointed in this place. My friend and his gf came here a day or two before us and said it was the best Mexican they've had. So of course, I love Mexican food so I gotta try it. I ordered the tacos with brisket in it. The brisket was very dry. It had flavor but it was so dry I needed to drink something immediately after every bite. My friend got the taquitos and I tried it. That was the worst taquitos I have ever had. No taste. Very dry. The queso...now I don't know what that was. It kinda reminds me of the stuff you buy in a jar from the store. Maybe because I'm from the south and we do it different, but this queso was not it. It's really cute inside and the drinks are amazing. The staff was okay. Not the best service, but it could have been worse.

My family loves Mexican food, and this one really stacked up! I had a fajita salad, my husband had a steak burrito, my daughter had the tacos, and my son had a birria chimichanga. First, the free chips and salsa were very good. Homemade chips with a very tasty salsa. We also had queso which again was very flavorful. The fajita salad came with lots of grilled vegetables on a nice big salad. I added fajita grilled chicken with that. It was very hearty and I could not finish at all. The kids love anything Birria and the chimichanga and tacos did not disappoint! My husband also thoroughly enjoyed his steak burrito. All the entrées except for my salad came with refried beans and Spanish rice. Our waiter was very attentive and gave good recommendations. While there are a lot of options of restaurants in Jackson, we recommend this one if you are in the mood for Mexican!

Went to this place for dinner on vacation! We got some awesome chips and salsa while we waited for our drinks and food order! The service was excellent the waitress was super friendly! The ambiance was upbeat and lively! I ordered the carne asada enchiladas which were amazing and would definitely get again! Would highly recommend and suggest this place if you're ever in town!!!

Food was mediocre, service was ok. For as good as the reviews were, we thought we had found a good Mexican spot. Not the case

Great price for being in downtown Jackson. Food was good but not the best Mexican food I've had. The real benefit is the location and price

Get the carne asada. You won't regret it. Service was great. Drinks were on point. Setting was mellow. Enjoyed it all.

We had a nice experience here. We tried the David's chopped salad but switched the dressing with…read morethe beat salad (honey citrus vinaigrette) as it sounded really good. This was indeed a pro move. We also had the Faroe island salmon which, at $43 was too expensive, but was really good (in a previous menue picture I looked at it was $34). Finally, both my wife and I enjoyed the huckleberry cosmo. Our waiter did a good job of selling us on the desert. The brownie skillet with ice cream was a good reminder of how all deserts should come as a hot/cold pairing.

Not sure where to start... The place is decorated in a cool…read moreway but after walking in everything went downhill. We sat down and were asked if we wanted the shades pulled down but we said we liked the light and enjoyed having them open. Shortly after that a group sat at the table next to us and the waitress closed the blinds completely without saying anything to us. If the light was in someone's eyes I totally support lowering them a bit but it was 4pm and if you're going to ask every table if they want them open or closed and you end up with two next to each other having opposing opinions then just ask if the other table minds ifs lowered partially or let them know what you're doing. Frustrating because we chose to eat here specifically for a view of the mountain. Secondly we asked our waitress for ranch and when she brought out our waters out she brought ketchup and said she'd be right back with the ranch. Our food then came and we asked the guy who brought it to bring some ranch but that never came. I wouldn't care much about it if the burger wasn't completely flavorless (which I'll touch on in a moment). Then we finally were able to get some ranch when the host walked by and he was great and brought it to us right away but having to ask 3 times for some ranch was frustrating. If this was all and the food was great, I'd let all this go BUT the burger (which we added bacon to) was completely flavorless. For a burger to have meat cheese and bacon and still taste like nothing is impressive. When the ranch finally came...it was awful. I've genuinely never met a ranch I didn't like until this one. It tasted like chemicals. Everyone at the table tried it and agreed. I didn't try the wings that others at table had so I can't comment on them myself but there weren't any good reviews from that side of the table either. I think this may just be a spot to grab a drink because it's tough to mess up a burger wings and ranch but this place managed to.
