Our very first meal in Jackson, Wyoming was a delicious one. My research I had found that Pica's Mexican Taqueria had received good reviews, so we gave it a try. We were not disappointed. Pica's is a simple walk up, order and pay, and then you find a seat and they bring the food to you. The prices weren't too bad, especially considering you're in Jackson where everything's a little bit more pricey. I went with the chicken mole poblano enchiladas, and my wife got a wet burrito. The food was excellent. Very delicious, and full of flavor. We are used to getting chips and salsa/beans/cabbage upon arrival, but at Pica's you have to pay for it. And unfortunately, it wasn't until AFTER we paid for chips and salsa, that I saw their cheezey chorrrizo bean dip. So we got that as well. And THAT was EXCELLENT. The tortilla chips were crispy, salty, and delicious. Pica's has a self-serve water station, and we also got some drinky-drinks. My wife enjoyed their margarita so much, she had a second. The inside seating was packed, so we found a nice spot outside. We ate as much as our stomachs could hold, and took the rest to go. My wife and I love us some Mexican food, and where we live in Central Cali, I'd argue we have some of the best Mexican food outside of Mexico itself. So to be honest, my wife was not expecting much from this Wyoming spot. But this was excellent. We highly recommend stopping for a meal if you ever find yourself in Jackson. read more

Pro tip: call ahead. It gets really busy during tourist season. Pica's is one of our favorite quick stops in Jackson. They have a great selection with classic options and a couple of fun twists. Our kids love it and it doesn't break the bank. We used to go in and eat, which is great, but now we've learned to call ahead, pick up our order and we usually go to a park to eat somewhere off of the main town square (like the bouldering park near the Snow King resort). Save your time and don't stop here. First of all the good. They have a great outdoor patio. Options for full shade or sun and dog friendly. It is a quiet location with lots of parking. You order at the counter and they bring food out. The payment system automatically added a tip. It was fine but I would have liked the option to add rather than have to remove it. They charge for chips and salsa. They were good. We ordered burritos and chicken tacos. The food was really bad. Too bad because the patio and location is great. On top of bad food, we waited a while and it was $50 for three to eat lunch. Pretty expensive for a non sit down restaurant without waitress service. Pretty disappointed with Pica's these days. I've watched the food quality nose dive over the years. For example, the Carne Torta. Opening day years ago, the total was soft and fresh, the steak was strips of tender med rare beef, lots of lime aioli, and lots of carralmized onion and peppers. Now a days...stale torta, or rock hard, crispy from an attempt to warm the stale bun. Hardly any aioli, which results in a really dry sandwich. Hardly any onions/peppers. But the real disappointment is how they serve the beef...chopped, overcooked, dry bits of beef. Just like Kibbles and Beef dog food. When you pick up the half bun (which by the way, is never cut in half completely, causing one to struggle breaking it apart, thus, all the "kibbles" fall out.) all the beef falls out. The total sandwich is a dry, chewy, underfilled, expensive ripoff with cold beans and rice. The only good thing is the margaritas. Best marg in town. Sandwich and marg...$27. read more

My sister has been telling me to try Pica's for years...and I finally listened! What took me so long?!! The veggie enchiladas were good. I felt like they were a little sparse on veggies but I loved the flavors of the sauce! The dish that I loved the most was the Tostada salad. It was filling but also really light. The dressing gives it wonderful flavor and a hint of acidity. It was my favorite thing I ate in Jackson that day! Our kids got a kids bowl with beans and rice and chicken, and a kids burrito. We order in the front and took about 15 minutes to get the food which was horrible. I order a plate with shrimps and it was really bad, it was spicy I didn't know it was spicy because again I didn't have much information about the plate. The plate came with rice which had no taste, beans, a spicy sauce, some salad too and the shrimps were ok. I can't eat spicy food so I told the waitress that I didn't know the plate had spicy in it so they made me another one and when I got the other plate the rice was cold the beans was semi-cold and everything just seems some ugly. We wanted to try this place out during our visit to Jackson Hole because it was a triple D restaurant. The place was packed as expected with most triple D restaurants. We ordered fish tacos which were mediocre at best, there just wasn't a lot of flavor and they didn't provide any salsa to add to the fish . We learned later that the wet burritos were the restaurant specialty. Next time we're back in Jackson we'll make sure we try the wet burrito. We didn't order a margarita but they looked pretty good as they serve glasses and pitchers. We met some people from Virginia there and they eat there once a week and really enjoy the drinks. Lots of outdoor seating but get your seating as soon as you can. read more
