My child has been in this preschool for almost a year. We enjoy the many activities that are made available to the kids. They have gymnastics, soccer, music, book fairs, and more. They have fantastic family events to showcase the work and fun the kids are having. I love the consistency of the curriculum, the openness of the administration, and the engagement the teachers provide. My son started at Merryhill in September 2023 and we've had a great experience with both teachers and admin. My son is autistic, so I was nervous about how he would be able to adjust to this new environment, with brand new adults. Thankfully, his teachers worked very closely with my son to help ease his transition and were transparent with me all along the way. He now enjoys going to daycare and will run up to his classroom and greet his teachers with a hug. They have also been incredibly accommodating to my son's therapist, who are there daily. His therapists have told me numerous times how impressed they are with the teachers, confirming that they have really taken the time to understand my son and his needs. Our child was a student in the infant room (November 2022) at Merryhill Danbrook in Sacramento. His teacher Linda who is caucasian decided she wanted to put my child and three other children who are minorities in a photo and caption it "Four little monkeys jumping on the bed". Initially my heart sank when I saw the picture of these black and brown BABIES and the word MONKEYS. Then I studied the photo further and saw that the children had been positioned for this photo and they were all looking at Linda while she took this photo. We still have unanswered questions. How did she get the kids to sit still like that? How did she force them to sit still? No child is jumping. No child is singing. No monkeys are in the photo. Why did she use that caption? The rooms being recorded is a selling point when you are touring the facility and you can view the footage at anytime. NOT TRUE. Suddenly the footage of this incident was no longer available after 14 days. A COMPLETE LIE. Why? They had something to hide. I took my child out of school after speaking to the principal who stated she would tell the teachers to be more "sensitive" with their posts which was a red flag for "COVER UP". I told her that Linda needed to be FIRED and my child would not return until she was FIRED. . They LIED and said she was fired. She was NOT fired. The next day I find out she was offered an opportunity to go to another school to discriminate and spread her hate for people of color. They (Robin, Lisa or Stacey) NEVER denounced her behavior which says to me they agreed. They ALL covered it up. Also they will NOT clean the carpet or floors. They refuse to. Instead Robin told the teachers that We said to leave my toddlers shoes on all day so I would not know that the floors still had not been cleaned. I knew the floors were not clean because his socks were very dirty daily. Although the floor is where most infants spend most of their time throughout the day and the school had a RSV outbreak, the floors still had not been cleaned. BEWARE THE "LEADERS" at these facilities are not capable of putting the children's needs before their budget no matter how much you pay on time and in full. read more

Be careful sending your child to the Natomas location especially if your child is on the spectrum, they will make your child feel less than and terrible. Our son was at Merry hill from September 2021-January 2022. In that time, he was there twice a week( Thursdays/ Fridays) . We paid $320 weekly just for them to discriminate against him for being autistic. They pride themselves on being acceptable and tolerable of all children but only want the spoken and "easy" children. The teacher had 10 kids( which she complained about dealing with ( it's not a big deal but I'm a teacher that deals with 33 daily)), she was always on the tablet and looked miserable. They force the kids to take 2 1/2-3 hour naps and if they don't want to sleep they must lay on a hard cot until they're given permission to get up. The principal (Christine) is unethical and refused to have us bring an aide for speech and behavior(extra support because he's shy)unless we signed over our rights to sue them if something sinister happened. Our son wanted to be near the teacher (comfort thing for his autism)which she didn't like because that would mean she would have to do her job. He didn't feel comfortable napping there so they couldn't enforce their 3 hour nap upon him. Eventually, we pulled our son for their discrimination against him and placed him with a wonderful at-home speech and behavioral company that he attended weekly alongside attending preschool in the afternoons. Sadly,Christine tried to pit parents against each other and bullied me into leaving. She gloated that she was friendly with an investigator for childcare facilities. I had to go over the investigators head to get a fair investigation.She didn't even want to pull the cameras to check for abuse and mistreatment(son's random limping). Our son was subjected and forced to stand outside the classroom with no shoes or socks(for God knows how long), developed an unexplained limp(several occasions), bruises and the list goes on. Ultimately, we left because they discriminated against his disability, tried to cover it and lied about his developmental abilities ;when we had his doctors and speech therapist tell us otherwise. It's all about money for them. Towards the end, we had to file a compliant against the facility for negligence, mistreatment and disability discrimination. The discrimination office stated I have a good case to sue for discrimination but we cut our loses because we were over them. They think they won because our son isn't there anymore but we won because he's thriving and speaking now. read more

Running a pre-school is hard, and Merryhill has it down to a science. I didn't realize how amazing they were until my 5yr old started public school. They provide lunch to ALL the children, plate it and encourage them to eat it. In public transitional kindergarten my kid has to stand in the lunch line and figure it out herself. Merryhill wipes her nose, applies sunblock and helps her get her jacket on in the cold. The teachers at Merryhill watch the children attentively in the play yard, if it's too hot, I've seen Ms.Sandra and Faye spray water on them and keep them in the shade to stay cool. I am glad my 3 year old is still there. We picked Merryhill because of its proximity to our home, but my hubby like them over Tutor Time, or Little Blossoms, because they are more academically oriented. They follow an early development program and always update parents on your child's progress. They are nurturing to the children, admin staff works hard, the facility is always clean and they have alot of extras to keep the parents involved and happy. The front office staff is always hustling to meet compliance numbers and ratio's so it's nice to know they are sticking with CA's regulations. Christine F. the director, is ALWAYS there. If she isn't in her office, she is usually out doing something FOR the school or getting additional training. She has a sunny attitude and so does Ms. Nicole and Ms Angie at the front desk. They are really on top of it. I am a BUSY working parent (so is my hubby), they accommodated my travel schedule and always gave our kids as much attention and care as they others. My first child attended from 21months on, they really help encourage with the potty training. Of course she cried every day at drop off for a few months, but that's individual to each child. Once she bonded with a teacher she was fine. They do try hard to comfort children with separation anxiety while tending to the other children. I had both my toddlers in there for a year. Their baby care is amazing, you can come by during lunch to nurse your baby or leave your own milk. EXTRAS that we liked: they periodically do a Parent's Night Out where they watch your kids so you can have a date night. Around the holidays they do them more frequently so you can do Christmas shopping. Fall Festival, Spring Carnival, and Waterplay in the summer is always a treat for the kids. Here's a secret, some of the teachers will moonlight as babysitters and that's a huge benefit because you are bringing home someone your child is already familiar with who has CPR and all the important certifications. DOWNSIDE. It's one of the pricier pre-schools in the area, and you only get one week of vacation (waived), but you get what you pay for. And this is top notch. Keep in mind that they have really long hours so if you take advantage of the full day, which is almost 12 hours of child care, you are getting a good value. read more

My son, age 3, has been attending Merryhill since he was 3 months old. At every age, stage, and every classroom transition the staff have been incredibly supportive. They not only prove their expertise, but also demonstrate transparency and open communication. As a type-A mama, I am always reassured that my baby is in good hands. Christine failed to communicate with me and in result put my daughter in danger. Instead of contacting me she decided to make a decision that wasn't hers to make. She should have followed protocol instead of letting her personal judgment cloud her job description which doesn't include her personal opinions. Christine called me today to act as if she wanted to apologize but instead called to debate about whose fault it was that my daughter was put in a messed up situation as a result of her personal judgment. This school has some wonderful and loving teachers that I cannot say enough glowing things about. Caring, lovely, and attentive people. Admin. quality has seriously decreased in the two years we've been here. They were recently cited by state licensing for over-capacity issues. With the tuition paid at this preschool, this should have NEVER happened. The lunches and snacks are subpar. Merryhill is owned by a NASDAQ-traded company. It's a business to the higher-ups here, not a passion. I sent my oldest child for two years, but will NOT be sending my younger child. My son has excelled in many learning areas since he started. My son has attended for a year now and is very sad to leave this fall for kindergarten. My child has been at Merryhill on Danbrook Dr for several months, and we are very pleased. The teachers really care about there kids and always want to tell me funny stories about my child's day. In most classrooms, they have more teachers than the state requires. The lunches seem perfectly fine to me (like stuff I would make at home): baked ziti, meatloaf, quesadillas, fruit, etc. I see a few negative comments about the administrators, but I have never had a negative experience with them. MerryHill Preschool has been wondering to me and my child. My son has been at this school since the Toddler room and now is in the intermediate classroom. He loves all his teacher here. One you meet them and see how they interact with you child you will understand. When taking the tour for MerryHill Preschool I was informed of their academic program, which is fantastic! Since attending my son has become more vocal and outgoing, has learned to sit at circle time, at a table, to walk in a line, they have taught him to use a spoon and hold the crayons correctly, trace his name and numbers, recognize his name and other letters. Best part is all the lunches are homemade and my child will eat things at the school that he will not eat at home! Love it! MerryHill has great fun raiser programs and activates for even the young children to participate in. The school is safely locked at all time. In order to get into the school you have to have a special "parent code." Without this code you are not getting in. This is a great piece of mind for me - I am able to drop my child off and know that the school is safe. The school is very clean inside and out. There is no smell of dirty diapers or trash and you can see well into the kitchen and see how clean it is. When dropping of my son he gives me a big hug and kiss and runs into his classroom without me to hang up his coat and find his friends. The principle Christine is an amazing woman she has welcome my family in with open arm. Since I have been part of the MerryHill Preschool family I have never seen Christine forget a child's name. Every morning she has a bright smile on her face and welcomes every parent and child into the building and knows everyone's name. She is a great asset to MerryHill she is always willing to answer questions or concerns. Christine has always welcomed me into her office no questions asked. Never once has she told me she was busy or couldn't help me. Christine is completely down to earth and a delight. We are in MerryHill for the long hall. My children attended Merryhill Danbrook up until my youngest's last year before Kindergarten. A new job location prompted us to find a preschool location closer to home and the new job. We had left prior to the pandemic so I cannot comment on their current operation, but I certainly have strong opinions about the several years we experienced there. Even though it has been a minute since we were enrolled I thought that our experience should be shared because, to be honest, I am shocked that there are not more reviews sharing similar experiences. Most of my complaints are about administration and the common practices that I witnessed at the campus as a whole and go beyond experiences with my own children. The only reason why I am giving any stars at all is due to SOME of the teachers and the well developed curriculum. Although a vast majority of the teachers do not implement the curriculum standards posted on the exterior of their classrooms, those that do most often have students that are able to reach impressive academic achievements. Very few students may have the one or two teachers at Merryhill who actually incorporate the WEEKLY required skills into their WEEKLY lesson plans. Check the weekly skills to see if ALL of them are included in the teachers' lessons plans EVERY WEEK. Even if administration claims to review the lesson plans, I encourage parents to look for themselves regularly. Many teachers may not make an effort to include the required skills into their weekly lesson plan due to the extreme demands asked of staff. I have often found teachers cooking, giving other teachers breaks, and doing the dishes. The concept of student to teacher ratio is stretched to max at this campus. The Beginner classroom may have teachers beyond what licensing requires, which is great in theory. However, the extra teachers are used to give the other teachers their morning and afternoon breaks which absorbs most their day. When there are 24 children ages 18 months to 3 years old in one large room where half are potty training (lots of accidents the teachers have to help clean up) and the other half is still in diapers, extra eyes are required to monitor the rest of the children. When the "extra" teachers are pulled from their classrooms to give breaks, the teachers helping with potty training and diapers are unable to look behind them to maintain the structure of the classroom. Therefore, these teachers are unable to observe and intervene with children biting, potty accidents, bullying, and injuries. Another example of how administration stretches teachers beyond what's appropriate is regarding any of Merryhill's "extra" programs. Periodically, families have the option to pay extra for children to participate in cooking, dance, "music", and/or art. The same teachers that are expected to implement a class lesson plan for the week are the very same teachers that are pulled from their classrooms to teach these "extra" programs; for example, your child's teacher could be teaching all the kids who signed up for the "extra" program instead of implementing the very lesson plan posted in their classroom. If your child is not included in the "extra" program then he/she will be relocated to a different classroom that can accommodate your child while staying in ratio. So the students of the "extra" program teacher will be peppered throughout the rest of the school. This may mean that a 5 year old would be separated from their class and have to sit in on lessons and play time designed for 3 year-olds and vice versa. Some 2 year-olds are also known for being moved up into the Intermediate classrooms. So even though you are paying $1,400 a month, your child will not receive the lessons posted in their classroom if he/she is moved to another class for a few hours every day of the week of the "extra" program. With lunch, outdoor play, and nap times, the weekly lessons simply cannot be taught in fractured time if the teacher is forced to divert focus towards the "extra" programs. The constant shuffling around of students DOES NOT factor in what is best for the students. It is pretty common knowledge that children thrive most with routine, structure, and stimulation. Constantly moving kids around fosters stress, unpredictability, and mistrust between student and teacher. I have seen children crying multiple times when shuffled to another class so their teacher can fulfill other duties including the aforementioned breaks, cooking and dishes. There have been some amazing teachers at this campus through the years, but most have left. Parents may observe a new teacher's passion and excitement for teaching only to watch that spark fade in months due to the administration's treatment and demands. Lastly, take everything the Director says with a grain of salt. She has a silver tongue that paints a picture with rose colored glasses. Anything to get the parents to pay $$ for little in return. read more

He is learning so much, we have great relationships with his teachers (that usually extend outside the classroom too), and the Admin staff is extremely receptive to any questions/problems I have. My daughter recently started attending this school. She is 3 months old and I was very nervous about starting her at daycare so young, but I had to return to work. The teachers in the infant room are fantastic, they really seem to love and care for the babies. She is always so happy when I drop her off and smiles at her teacher! Even at such a young age they make sure to include her in activities and she always seems to be busy and entertained. They also have a lot of knowledge about babies. When I first brought my daughter she did not know how to use a bottle, but these ladies got her to take a bottle! As a new momthey have been so helpful in giving me tips and advice. They also keep daily report cards so I know how much she is napping and how many diapers she goes through. They give you a monthly report of how your child is doing and tips on activities you can do to promote your child's development. The facilities are clean and well maintained. I have never seen any thing I did not like there. Everytime I go to the school the teachers are getting the children involved in activites, such as storytime, learning the alphabet, cooking, playing outside, crafts. Even the little ones like my daughter have play mats, toys, and art time to keep them entertained and stimulated. I know my daughter is being well taken care of! I first chose Merryhill because of the reputation . Teachers I would rate 5 stars , and they really care about the kids , and they love what they do . However , I don't like how things are run at this school Few things I have to complain - When my son s classroom had no soap , we reported to Christine , and no one seemed to care about it , and waited three days to have soap in the bathroom. Pretty much lots of kids got stomach virus when the soap was not there. Couldn't they just get some dispenser soap immediately for child s hygiene ?? Every time Nicole would only call my name at the front was " you owe money ." I know I have credit in the account , so I verbally asked her how much do I have in the account , and she said $18 . I happened to pay cash one day , and she printed my balance , and it showed I had $500 credit !!! OMG , so I was so upset at that moment that they would not tell me this . So if I owe money you say something ? Why not when I have credit you say something to me ?? Due to my son s birthday , he would need to stay one year at Merryhill if we choose to . I asked Christine if my son was ready for Kindergarten, and her respond right away was NO . She told me my son was totally not ready , and need to stay one more year . They would call me every three days ask if I was going to enroll my son for the Pre-k 2 . My friend happened to know that Millcreek Merryhill accept Kindergarten as long as child s birthday was before October . I called Millcreek to verify , and they said my son can attend if I want to go there . I went back to Christine s office and told her my son can go Millcreek kindergarten,and her response was "Well , he can go there but boy mature slower , and he will have lots of problems later." She would keep bring up some negative stories about how lots of parents like me try to push my kids to do kindergarten, and regretted that they wish they listen to her . Smh ! All she care is about more money , and commission for her school . Then , when we told her we weren't going to stay another year , we were not even allow to participate the graduation . It has been a while since I reviewed the school and I thought I should update my comments, now that we have experienced the full school. Our son will graduate preschool in a few months and head off to kindergarten next year. (gulp!) We've been with this school for 5 years now, and I am so happy with the experience our family has had over the years. I am also thrilled with the progress I have seen at the school. The only initial complaint I had was the menus, and I am happy to be able to update that the food has improved over time. The quality of the ingredients has also improved. I am very comfortable having my son eat the provided meals now, and even more pleased that they have an awesome and loving person who cooks daily for the kids. This food is not pre-made and microwaved - it's homemade. And my son just adores the chef/cook - she's incredibly kind and great with the kids. Merryhill has been worth every penny. Knowing my kid is safe, happy, excited about everything, and learning a LOT - makes it easier for me to leave him in the mornings. After being with the same group of people since he was a baby, I bet on graduation day, I'll get a little teary eyed saying good bye to everyone who has been like family to us. read more

All I can say, this has to be by far the most horrifying school you can ever send your child too. I trusted this school with the most precious gift God gave me (my only child) and he ended up in the ER with 3 stitches and major teeth injury. Thanks to the love and care of this school, my son scars are a 24-7 reminder of how unworthy of these people to be even called Caregivers! I should have read the previous comments and asked questions and not just be impressed with the how nice of a building structure it was and the entrance was all nice and welcoming- look for the signs in your child and once he/she tells you Mommy (No school) ask why!! We visited many daycare centers in the area for our 7-month old infant, who is in cloth diapers. We found everything that we were looking for at the Merryhill School on Danbrook. Location is in a safe area. The building is secured with numeric password access (different code for each child to keep track) and video cameras in every classroom. Everyday of the week has a different set of clean toys for the children (so they don't get bored with the same ones every day). The ratio of baby to provider is 1:4 (sometimes 1:3). One main is provider is assigned to my baby and maintains communication with me about her day and her progress. They sing songs, read to her, play music, take the kids on buggee rides (so cool) and provide personal attention in a very caring environment. The principal and staff are very experienced, knowledgeable people about child development. They are very professional, friendly, and it's obvious that they love what they do. They charge the same price (or lower) than other daycare centers. But the quality service provided to the parents and children has the other centers beat =) read more

HORRIBLE!!!! (One star only because I have to rate) I would not enroll my worst enemy's child here. Teachers yell at the children (classroom #2 especially, I believe that's the room #. The First door on left ) this I know from experience. The children run with pants around their ankles only to get yelled at rather that the help/assistance they need, after coming out of a communal bathroom that is shared between two sides (4 classes) with only 2 toilets and urine on the floor! Children break bones on the play equipment while unsupervised and instead of calling 911, which clearly should have been done with a compound fracture, they phone the patent later instead. (Claiming it's not their fault the child fell off the play equipment and laid screaming for minutes before tended to) The front desk is usually vacant, allowing anyone without the access code to "piggy-back" in after another parent. Their food consists of a lot of processed items. Canned fruit or veggies, when offered. How difficult is it to buy fresh?? They have had salad that is drenched in Italian dressing, so much that the room smells of it when you walk in, that the children are expected to eat with a SPOON! C'mon, have you tried to eat salad with a spoon? Multiple drainage problems. Think toilets and sinks backed-up for several days. At nap time, which is forced, even on the oldest students, they turn the music up SOOO loud that I couldn't even have a conversation with the "teacher". They lose personal items Upon leaving, when I asked for my child meds, they claimed that they never received the medication. The "Principal" Miss Christine is not very attentive. The "Vice Principal" Miss Nicole, she doesn't liked to be approached with anything. She won't look you in the eye. She lets everyone else handle the issues while tucking her tail and running the other way. I overheard a conversation in the lobby between a mother and the staff about her child being sent home because the child/teacher ratio was too high that day. WHAT?? A paying student being told there is no room for her/him?!?!?!?! Not sure if they are still there but, I'm not!!! They are more of a high-priced daycare than a school. I called Merryhill in tears when my original daycare (one with a State employee discount) called to tell me they did not have a space for my son even though they had confirmed his spot on several occasions. You should know that I had just gotten home from the hospital after the birth of my son when I received this phone call. I was a mess! After sitting down and crying for some time, I picked myself up off the floor and threw open the phone book. I had seen Merryhill on several occasions since I went to a gym that was near this preschool. I knew that it was new and nice and, knowing my luck, probably did not have a space for my little one, but I called anyways. I am soooo glad that I did. The principal, Christine, met with me that very day and I was able to enroll my little one. I absolutely fell in love with this preschool - even more than my original daycare center. I will never forget the first day I dropped off my little one. I was soo nervous, scared, and, of course, crying. All the teachers were soo helpful and nice. Each step up in classrooms (toddlers, beginners) the teachers and the principal are always there to ease the transition. I love that this daycare has a curriculum. I love that my son is always excited to go to "school" every morning. One of his first words was "school!" If you are looking for a great daycare with great staff, then look no further because Merryhill is the place for your little one. read more

My child goes to Merryhill Preschool and loves it and so do I!! All of the teachers are awesome. Many have college degrees, are parents, have many, many years in child development. They care for the children's well-being and it shows! The food is yummy. The curriculum is great - I am pretty sure my son knows more spanish than I do! He is well adjusted, bright, and articulate. What more could you ask for from a 2 year old?!?!? In response to some previous posters, yes, he falls down and bumps his head, knees, elbows, and everything in between, but guess what? He's a kid! Kid's fall down and go bump. Yes, it is scary when your child falls, I know first hand. My son falls a lot because he is outside playing and having fun with his friends. This stuff happens. It is not the fault of the school, teachers, or anyone. They are kids for goodness sakes. And yes, my son has fallen and gotten hurt really bad both at school and at home! There is nothing anyone can do to prevent their child from falling and getting hurt, unless you want to keep them indoors all the time and on carpet. read more

The staff is well selected and monitored and Christine goes above and beyond to communicate to parents. The facilities are always clean and the kids are constantly doing new things. I love that not only is my child cared for by a loving staff, but they are teaching them and interacting with them. It is not just baby sitting...it really is a center dedicated to your child's development. My daughter started Merryhill when she was 10 months old. She began in the infant room, moved up to the toddler room, beginners room, and now at 3 years old she's in the intermediate room. I cannot say enough positive things about the experience I have had with the teachers at Merryhill. Each teacher that has cared for my child has been attentive, caring, and enthusiastic. They are not just babysitters but are very interactive in the learning process of my child. From the toddler room to the intermediate room, every day I picked up my daughter, the teacher told me about her day good or bad. She informed me about what she learned that day as well as a new friend she made, or something funny she did during the day. As a working mother, I really appreciated hearing about those moments since I wasn't able to share them with her. If the teacher had to inform me of a behavior that wasn't so nice that day, she approached the subject with thoughtfulness and care, letting me know that the behavior is normal and that she would keep an eye on it. I never worry about my child during the day knowing that she is well taken care of. Whenever I visit my daughter at the school, she is having such a great time! She loves her knew friends and has bonded with each teacher that she has had. The level of education the teachers provide is fantastic! I was amazed how soon my daughter knew her colors and was able to count. I know she will be well prepared when she starts Kindergarten. Christine, the principal, is very active in making sure the children are well cared for. She is easily approachable if I ever have any questions or concerns. She is very hands on with all of the children. My daughter always likes to stop by her office for a sticker on her way home and Christine welcomes her with open arms. My daughter started at this school when she was three months old and has advanced into the intermediate classroom (she is now three). We have had positive experiences with ALL the teachers at the school. My daughter is always happy when we drop her off and always happy when we pick her up. Now that she is a little older and able to tell me all about her day, each day I am more and more comfortable with where she spends her days. She amazes me with what she knows. My grandson goes to MerryHill. I live across the street from the school. My daughter and grandson love the teachers and the staff. My grandson runs out the door in the morning. He can't wait to get to school and play with his friends, learn from the teachers and play in the playground. I feel sorry for the mom whose son got hurt and had to go to the ER. I really feel sorry for the mom that she has to go to such an extreme level and talk bad about the school on the internet. She is not leading by example to her son the proper way of handling difficult situations. I have already raised my children, and now watching my grandson grow up. Children get hurt. Children get sick. What will the mom do when her son gets chicken poxs, or lice in grade school? What happens when he falls off the monkey bars? Who gets the blame then? Hopefully, she will understand that children get hurt, sick and fall. This grandma loves Merryhill School on Danbrook! All my future grandchildren will attend as well! read more

I had originally written a review on this school, however it was taken off because it did not fall in the guidelines, so I'll write one that does, because I believe that as a parent we have a right to know how a school is run. I placed my daughter at Merryhill for 3 months, and had a great experience with the teachers there, however the staff is not as attentive as one expects. I left to Mexico for 3 months and called to see if I could re-enroll my daughter there, however the principal told me that currently they had no room, which I understood, because no school is going to save your spot without paying. She told me to keep checking back, and what she could do is enrolll my daughter every time a child left on vacation! I kept calling and she kept giving me the same answer, to keep checking back. I finally asked my friend to call and ask if they had room for the exact same times I needed, and she said they had availability immediately, and even scheduled a tour, when I called back after my friend had called they interestingly had no room and lied, when I confronted them telling them my friend had just called and told her they did have room, they said that they had room in the other pre-school, and that they may have room in June, it was such an obvious lie. If the adminstration lies, what kind of ethics are the children learning? It would have all been fine, had they told me "sorry, you coming back and forth just doesn't work for us" and I would have understood, rather than keep having me call. read more

We love Merryhill! If you're looking for a center to watch your child, this is the one to use. My son has special needs and the school has been accommodating to allow other service providers to come into the classroom and work with their teachers. We love all the extra activities they offer and appreciate getting my son's completed artwork (and photos) from the month. Their events are always well themed and fun for all. The front staff are excellent and greet us every time we walk in and they always seem to know what's going on with the kids and families. My only reservation is that there seems to be (what I could consider to be high) turnover among the teachers. This is most unfortunate because as parents we want to trust who's doing the hands-on work with our kiddos. The children seem to adjust just fine, but ideally, I'd like to have more of a relationship with the teachers. Other than that, I'd highly recommend this school! We love this Merryhill School (MH)! Our daughter has been going there since she was a teeny tiny ten-week old baby. I fell in love with this school when I was pregnant- it is a clean, organized, safe, healthy, colorful, fun, energized, caring, professional environment, and everything we were looking for in a preschool/ daycare. The MH teachers and curriculum are the best, and better than any others around. My husband and I both work in the office full-time, so Morgan spends 50 hours a week full-time at this wonderful school. My daughter, now 2 1/2 years old, has been in three classrooms at this MH, and she LOVES it too! We couldn't be happier- it is well worth your time, money, and effort to send your child here for care & education. If you want the best for your child, and you live in the North Sacramento/ Natomas area, look no further- this is THE BEST MH SCHOOL! Let me tell you, I am a worrier, and I never worry about my daughter when I am away at work all day- I know that she is in great caring, loving, nurturing, well trained hands with the staff and teachers at this school! Not only am I proud to say that my son is part of their infant program, but I also CHOOSE to make this my place of employment. The Administration makes sure that the staff is well trained with the most current child development practices and works hard to provide the most loving and safe environment to their families. The staff is a group of amazing people who do what they do because they LOVE children. The students in every age group are not only being exposed to an impressive curriculum, but their having fun learning too! Merryhill Preschool Danbrook is awesome! I've had my child in several day cares prior to enrolling my son in Merryhill Danbrook. I can honestly say from experience that Merryhill has lived up to all my expectations and more. The staff is wonderful and ready to help you and your child in any way possible. I had my Daughter at a different Merryhill School in the area and gave them chances to improve, to no avail, so I decided to transfer her to Danbrook location. My Daughter and I are both happier to have her at Danbrook. The Principal at this location is wonderful, professional, and she loves kids. The teachers in the Beginners Room are wonderful. Its the first Preschool I've seen that actually has teachers that have degrees in Child Development. The only thing I'd like to see improved is the playground areas seem pretty old and bland. They make so MUCH money, it seems like they can give the kids a better play area outside. But other than that my Daughter and I love the teachers and the school. No school is perfect, hence I didn't give them 5 stars. If anyone thinks they can find a perfect school, they are fooling themselves. And to complain and whine in detail about a school is only role-modeling to your child/children negativity. If you are unhappy, constructively communicate it to staff. If your still not happy, gracefully move on. It is very unfortunate what happened to that one Mom's boy in ER. But the truth is, that could have happened to any child at any school at any time. Not that I am justifying what happened. But sadly its a part of life.....everyone gets hurt sometimes. Your not going to find a perfect school that does everything perfect all the time. Kids get hurt and kids get sick. But I do understand the pain the parent of the hurt child is going through. No parent wants thier child to suffer. Any way, with that said. I am happy to say that i am a proud parent of a Merryhill Preschool Graduate. My son was part of the very first graduating class, he is now in the 2nd grade and has excelled tremendously since leaving Merryhill. I am also proud to say that my youngest son started Merryhill preschool on Danbrook this year and has only been there for almost a month and he counting to 100 by 10's, his penmanship is improving everyday, and he loves his teacher and the staff. The staff at Merryhill Danbrook is courteous, understanding and caring, the teachers there are awesome and they all take pride in teaching. So for someone to say that this is not a good school or not a good environment for your child they are sadly mistaken cause....MERRYHILL DANBROOK ROCKS!!!!!! read more

My grandchildren have gone to Merryhill School Danbrook (Pre-School) in Notomas and it was awesome and still is. The staff their works very hard to help the students and families. I would recommend it to anyone that is looking for a private school and good learning habits and great staff!! read more
