I don't understand why this place has so many bad reviews. Merryland Buffet has always been there to satisfy my cravings after a long session of cover shooters. The staff there are very helpful and unlike like other establishments, seem to enjoy their work and do everything to the best of their abilities to serve the community with only the quality food and service the Bronx has to offer. It may not seem like it, but the food is top notch. Similar to the Glazed Mcguffins in episode #15 of Sam & Max Freelance Police, the appearance and quality of the food may seem off putting but, I can assure you that your tastebuds will thank you after eating here. Don't listen to Juan and his false accusations of food poisoning. Merryland buffet is a wonderful place and I hope they are in business for the next 100 years. I recommend the crab legs.

Absolutely slamming Chinese food w/ the boys

The Holy Grail. The pride and joy of the Bronx. Michelin star pending. One day, when you and your bros aren't too busy absolutely crushing it, it is imperative you assemble the squad and ride out to Merryland. You pay $8, cash, not for a meal - but for a one way ticket into pure ecstasy. I'm talking ALL the greasy Chinese food that your heart desires. Not to mention the mouth-watering donuts, cake and surprisedly fresh fruit. Dining at this establishment is an experience that truly can't be beaten. So please, before you enter Saturday night hyper drive, pad your stomach lining with a few meals at Merryland. God speed.

I haven't been to a buffet in sooo long so I was very excited going into this…read more First off, I was a little disappointed because it seemed like everyone had the same idea so the parking was full. But it was okay because we found street parking a little bit of a walk away and was able to still enjoy ourselves. My fiancé and I grabbed a bunch of food from their big variety and both left stuffed. Overall, I can't say it's the best quality of foods however, the selection was huge and for the price, this was actually very good! The service was great. They started us off with drinks as soon as we sat down and would ask us if we needed refills on these drinks whenever they were running low. Even though there was a lot of people, because the space itself is also big, it did not feel like we were overcrowded so that was also a plus!

Went here today for lunch…read more Nice establishment overall. They have a free parking lot, and the entrance is inside the hotel, you take the elevator upstairs to the buffet. However, when we arrived, nobody was at the front counter, so we walked to the inside counter to ask to be seated. The front desk guy clearly just came in for his shift since he was hurrying on his cell phone, carrying bags and had his jacket on. He came over looking very busy and disheveled, and when my mom politely asked if we should wait here to be seated, he rudely responded, "Well if there's no one at that counter then you come to this counter if you see the sign." Meanwhile... there was no sign saying that when we left. My mom was just asking a simple question, so the attitude was unnecessary. Just because you're stressed or running late doesn't mean you take it out on customers. F him for being rude to my nice mom and never coming to this place again. As for the food, it was pretty mediocre overall, that experience left a bad taste. The sushi selection had a good variety, and the desserts were honestly the best part. They have a chocolate fondue station plus vanilla, matcha, and swirl soft serve ice cream machines. At least the place was clean. Also, the waitress gives you a parking discount before you leave, so don't forget to ask.

There is nice music playing but low enough for conversations to be had. The staff was quick in clearing the table of finished plates and quite attentive. Now the food, 70% of the food was good, tender meats, sushi was decently fresh. The other 30% was unappetizing, the dimsum was sad looking and lacking variety, oyster grilling station took forever to cook, the crabs were lacklustered and didn't taste fresh. Also I'm guessing because of the promotion, a lot of items left off the menu (no snow crab legs, or abalone to name a few) Overall for the promotional price, definitely worth coming to try, better than most buffets in the city and the positives outweigh the negatives and you will definitely leave full.

Their fruits selection and ice cream is just as good! They have alot of seating and the times I've been, I didn't need to make reservation and was able to be seated immediately. The servers constantly walk around and clear your table of plates so it'll always be empty when you come back with a new plate of food. This is my go to spot for buffets in flushing for sure!

The food options are extensive. I've never gotten ill from eating in this place. The seafood is the star of the show! The seasoning is top notch! Instead of going to a seafood place to spend hundreds you can spend the entry and get all the seafood you want unless you want lobster lol it's worth the price The service is friendly and attentive, I don't have to chase after a waiter to refill my drink or remove my plates. They always come around to check on you. I recommend you bring cash if you want to tip, the bill is paid in the front before entering. They should consider cleaning the bathroom ever so often during service hours, because it can get pretty gross and I avoid it all cost. The reason for the 3 stars is because of the area this place is located in and the people that come here. I try to avoid coming here too late where it's more prone to getting more people. There has never been an issue or conflict before (surprisingly) until my last visit where females started arguing. It was brief and did not escalate but still a ghetto mess and I was not surprised. The difference is that this time I was seated in the middle where the area is more crowded towards the entrance. Usually I get seated towards the hibachi station and there has never been an issue there, and it isn't as crowded. I'll stick to that side next time. Also, I'm a sushi lover but I'm not a fan of their sushi. I don't like cold rice or cold sushi.. it makes sense why they have it plated on all cooler setting but it doesn't taste too good to me. There is a movie theater downstairs, so you can eat and go to the movies if you're in the mood

You don't pay for a wonderful "experience" --- that was never part of the package. UMI Premium Sushi & Seafood Buffet changes that, and offers the Chinese Buffet in a setting that is bright, open, and beautifully decorated. There is no real "server" when you come here, all of the servers work as a collective --- you call one down, they bring you your drink, another passes by they collect your plate. These workers definitely work in harmony. Now I have to say: this Buffet is a bit pricier than the normal "Flaming Grill & Buffet" --- adults are $23.99 and kids are between $11-16. But remember: you getting not just the food --- your getting what most other buffets don't offer: AN EXPERIENCE. Besides the "hot dishes" like hibachi beef and orange chicken, UMI Premium Sushi & Seafood Buffet offers a wide variety not seen anywhere else: Hot Pot anyone? Included! Ramen? Included! Unlimited Bubble Tea? Included! Beverages? Included! Taste-wise I was thoroughly impressed. Since this is a popular buffet, it seems the food is refreshed quite often, meaning nothing will remain in the warmers for too long. Some of my favorites? Salt and Pepper Shrimp, Braised Pork Belly, and the Cantaloupe Boba Tea. True to it's name, this Buffet exceeded my expectations, was an absolute EXPERIENCE and I can't wait for another visit!

It felt busy but not chaotic, and the wooden tables with the built-in hot pot burners make it clear they're set up for a proper meal. We ordered a few things and everything landed well. The chicken feet in the bamboo steamer were sticky, savory, and properly coated in that dark sauce with a little chili and scallion on top -- the kind you just keep picking at. The spring rolls came out crispy and light, not oily at all. And the baked oysters with that cheesy, herby topping were surprisingly good; the cheese got all bubbly and the oysters stayed plump underneath. Not a fancy place, just solid food, good atmosphere, and the kind of spot you leave feeling satisfied.
