Went here today for lunch. Nice establishment overall. They have a free parking lot, and the entrance is inside the hotel, you take the elevator upstairs to the buffet. However, when we arrived, nobody was at the front counter, so we walked to the inside counter to ask to be seated. The front desk guy clearly just came in for his shift since he was hurrying on his cell phone, carrying bags and had his jacket on. He came over looking very busy and disheveled, and when my mom politely asked if we should wait here to be seated, he rudely responded, "Well if there's no one at that counter then you come to this counter if you see the sign." Meanwhile... there was no sign saying that when we left. My mom was just asking a simple question, so the attitude was unnecessary. Just because you're stressed or running late doesn't mean you take it out on customers. F him for being rude to my nice mom and never coming to this place again. As for the food, it was pretty mediocre overall, that experience left a bad taste. The sushi selection had a good variety, and the desserts were honestly the best part. They have a chocolate fondue station plus vanilla, matcha, and swirl soft serve ice cream machines. At least the place was clean. I haven't been to a buffet in sooo long so I was very excited going into this. First off, I was a little disappointed because it seemed like everyone had the same idea so the parking was full. But it was okay because we found street parking a little bit of a walk away and was able to still enjoy ourselves. My fiancé and I grabbed a bunch of food from their big variety and both left stuffed. Overall, I can't say it's the best quality of foods however, the selection was huge and for the price, this was actually very good! The service was great. They started us off with drinks as soon as we sat down and would ask us if we needed refills on these drinks whenever they were running low. Don't be fooled, this is not a typical Chinese buffet. If you're looking for typical American Chinese food like lo mein, crab rangoons, and kung pao chicken, you'll be disappointed. I came in on a weekday evening and it was crowded so food easily ran out but it took a while to replenish. The containers for soy sauce on the table were not clearly marked so I was confused at first, so they should put labels to make it clear. The selection of sushi and sashimi was not the best since the rolls on the buffet weren't any better than a typical American Chinese buffet, which was disappointing. I enjoyed the rest of the dishes though such as peking duck and braised pork belly. The dessert selection was decent. but it's not spectacular. Amazing selection of food and top quality too From the cold section you have salads, sushi, sushi rolls, cold seafood like shrimp king crab, raw cuts etc On the warm side you have beef, pork, chicken, lamb chops, fish, frogs, shrimp, scallops, squid, the whole works. Mussels, clams, abalone, American classics, soups. There's even a prepared cutting section for peking duck, roast beef, etc. Dessert section had sweet soups, mochi, ice cream (vanilla and matcha), fried doughs, cakes, jellos, cotton candy, crepes, chocolate fountain etc Service was on top of their game, checking in pretty frequently on tables to pick up plates or take drink orders. My friends and I went to The Buffet for lunch on a Sunday. The Buffet is located on the 4th floor of Hotel de Point. I wasn't aware and parked on the street, but parking in the lot is validated with being a patron at The Buffet. I arrived at 11:10am and there were already a lot of people waiting in the lobby. The lobby is spacious with many benches to sit and there are gashapon machines as well. When our whole party of 7 people arrived, we were seated at 11:45am. The staff informed us that the dining time is limited to 1.5 hours. Buffets are great for friends hanging out since everyone can choose whatever they like to eat. There were many and a variety of options: hot lunch food, chilled seafood, dim sum, sushi, sashimi, hibachi, carved specialities (Peking Duck w Bun), soups, fruits, and desserts. When I went to get my first plate, there wasn't too much of a line but then after it did get more crowded. I really enjoyed the mapo tofu, pork su mai, bean curd skin meat roll, beef chow fun, beef tripe, and coconut pudding. I saw people take cotton candy out of the restaurant. The staff were very attentive and you will never find an empty plate longer than a minute. They always took away plates from the table quickly. On Saturday and Sunday, lunch is $35.99 + tax for adults. On the check, it saids "Tipping is not included nor required but appreciated." We tipped extra for their great hospitality. Came here for lunch and was honestly impressed. There is a very large assortment of food to choose from, and everything felt well thought out. The sushi was very fresh, and the raw bar oysters were fresh as well, which is always a big plus. One small suggestion: it would be great if the sushi was kept colder, as a few rolls were slightly warm. The hibachi was good it's the only station where you might have to wait a bit since the food is prepared to order, but it's worth it. There's also a huge selection of dim sum, and everything I tried was delicious. The food here is traditional Asian, so don't expect a lot of American-inspired dishes. That said, they do have a basic kids section with French fries, chicken nuggets, and pizza, which is nice for families. The restaurant was very clean, and the staff were friendly and attentive throughout our visit. For lunch, this place is a very good deal for the variety and quality you get. Was here for lunch on Friday. If you like to eat, this place may be for you. Lots of diversity, tho no Peking Duck served during our lunch. Mostly Chinese, some sushi, soups, dessert including tiny slices of cake. Tried the mango sago and crème brûlée - both meh. My overall suggestion - best to try foods that were freshly made vs having the food just sitting there for at least an hour or so. Don't get so passionate taking a lot of a single item at a time unless freshly made, even if you've had it before. Be choosy and you'll enjoy. Drinks included, tho water was fine for me. The waitresses bringing you drinks and removing used plates are friendly and efficient. Don't forget to tip. Place is large, nothing to write home about. Bathrooms interesting. We went back again and I got to get a few things I didn't get to try the first time around. There was no wait and we were seated in the already packed restaurant at 6pm. The waitress noticed I was cold and turned off the air conditioning above us. I didn't have sushi this time around so I can indulge in the other offerings I missed , like the soft shell crab, fried rice. Roast pork to name a few. First and foremost we got here at 2:30pm and the food WAS NOT FRESH... everything seemed to be reheated possibly from the day before or dried out from being sat out upon opening .... The I tried to get what I think looked more freshly made. The chicken and duck were cold. The rice and noodles were dried out. My friend's crawfish was brown inside. I got dessert and the ice cream came out semi melted. The little carrot cake probably was the best thing I ate. I used the app TooGoodToGo. Never been in this Buffet, had been in tons before, but this one...this one was an experience. Right out of the gate, the host was very rude. "What do you want!?" in such a despicable manner that I was shocked. Then I was thrown a plastic container and told, "Serve yourself." Excuse me? Just because someone orders through this app doesn't mean you have to talk to them like they're peasants. And then the food. I had no idea what to expect, but this was my first truly horrible experience, with not only this app, but with the restaurant in general. The buffet was almost empty. I arrived at 9:32, and the servers were already tossing everything into the trash right in front of everyone. While the rest of the guests trying to scrap something from the plates. I felt like a pig coming for scraps. The only plate available had a small amount of leftover sushi that everyone run over like they were about to die. I wasn't expecting anything fancy, I wasn't expecting anything at all, but watching servers throw out food right as you walk by to "serve yourself" was despicable. The pick-up window was 9:30-9:45. If I had shown up at 9:40, I'd probably have gotten just a cup of tap water for $10 I paid. Came here with my family on Saturday for lunch to celebrate Father's day (a day early). Full parties are seated and no tipping required but appreciate (and especially at certain stations). Was too busy eating to take a picture of my plate... or the plates at the table... but also didn't want to look like a pig especially when you know it's a buffet and the restaurant is called, The Buffet. Everyone here is eating alot and their worth in admission. All tables cramped together but it's a very large restaurant with so many stations and different options. Fast / quick cleaning service so you can get more plates while they removed the old dirty plates. I wish there was a drink menu at the table (or QR code) but we all only said water / tea for the parents as we thought even soft beverages would be additional costs without free refills. And we didn't want to fill up on sodas anyways. The restaurant is on 4th floor of a hotel with valet parking (but they don't drive the car back to you unless it's on those high raise platforms. They just show you to the car and give key for you to drive out of the spot). It sucks that parking time counts before you even get a table... it should count from when you are seated to when you leave. There is a cute arcade center in the lobby for kids to play while waiting to be seated. I noticed the crepe station wasn't really staffed... but a lady was replenishing crayfish saw me and was kind enough to assist me. I wished she changed her gloves tho because I have a crustacean allergy and she was just handling a plate of crayfish. I also had yaki udon at the hibachi station... the man said 15min and I watched him finish within 8min because I was still on line to the food stuff next to him. There was no way of keeping the food warm/safe as he just leave the plate to the side. I had to point and asked if that was mine for him to give it to me.. if I did return in 15min, it would be colder. It was already getting lukewarm because it took me abit to get in between people (that is on line) to ask him for the plate. All the people around the line blocked the front window and also the sauces... I wished I had the A1 sauce for the steak as it was kinda dry. I was disappointed with the chicken feet Fèng zhǎo (鳯爪, phoenix claws) at the dim sum section... I guess with the amount of hungry folks, they have to hurry to keep up with refilling. But most food seem to be cooked just enough to put out but quality not as good (also, yeah it's a buffet). A few items were mislabeled as it was put in an empty spot but not what it was. Saw pork ribs sign but dish looks like crispy frog legs (no thanks!). Was lucky a few times that fresh stuff came when I just happened to pass by so I quickly grab. Honestly, it's a Chinese all you can eat buffet. At this price, you know what you're getting. It's a wide variety at an average quality. The surrounding area seems a bit sketchy, but that just could be because I arrived at night post rain. I parked a block away to save on parking. For the price they charged, I was honestly a bit surprised about the variety of seafood options they provided. It was much more than I expected, including sushi, sea bass, crab legs, and much more. A minor complaint that I did have was the peking duck station. As any experienced buffet go-er knows, save carbs to the end. I still wanted some of that amazing crispy skin that comes from the peking duck. I politely asked the server if I could just have the duck without the bun, because I didn't want to waste stomach space and calories on the bun. He rudely told me to just go get the honey duck over to the side. I get it, he has to do his job, but the attitude wasn't necessary. Not so heavy in msg either. The meat dishes that we tried siomai, chicken feet etc is a little dry but not that bad. We came 12noon on a Friday and the place is just starting to get busy. No waiting for us. The wait staff are all nice, even took good pic of us. No tipping required, but we did tip. They deserved it. Price is good for nyc, parking free for first hour and 2 bucks after. I was curious to check out this buffet after watching a YouTube video on it. I went here for lunch. After tax, the price came out to be just under 35 dollars. Tipping at this restaurant is completely optional, but I tipped the staff anyway because the service was great :) The buffet had a nice selection. Lots of sashimi and sushi, which were all fresh and delicious. There were also oysters, dim sum, takoyaki, desserts like green tea cheesecake, a soft serve machine with matcha ice cream, a chocolate fondue fountain, Chinese-American staples like orange chicken, et cetera. This buffet I fell has a wide variety of cuisine. The ice cream and cotton candy machines are always a hit with the kids. The warm food has a good mix of proteins. First, as soon as I scan the dishes, I saw many cooked seafood which usually aren't served in California and Las Vegas which to me, had the best seafood restaurant buffet? College Point Buffet is the rule from my seafood restaurant standard now! College Point has serves all the above standard seafood like the Knife Clams, Escargo, the Chinese Yam is my favorite, Large Clams, fresh oyster, and a whole host of seafood I can't remember except tasting it as one of the best seafood restaurant. Parking is available, pay a couple of dollars, dessert is great and your dinner comes with a pitcher of fresh tea! So, if you're in the Queens and Flashing area of New York, take an Uber, Taxi or just fly there and enjoy the best seafood landscape you will ever have. Celebrated a birthday with lots of food. The Buffet allowed everyone to eat what they like. I went for Peking Duck and scallops. Wish they didn't cut up the scallops in the sauté dish but it was fine. There is a time limit of 1.5 hours which was just right. We got to watch a lovely sunset. Our server was attentive. The tables are spaced out enough so despite everyone talking, there wasn't the awful noise at other buffets. Nice ambiance. I fear stomachaches after buffets but I was fine. We returned for lunch this past Christmas eve - ~$32 pp, no-tipping restaurant now. (The last time we went here was more than 5 years ago. My family wanted to come here since we haven't been in forever. We came recently on a Saturday morning around 11:45am and it wasn't busy. There is a paid parking lot but you can try your luck with free residential parking in the area. Once parked, go in through the hotel entrance and take the elevators up to the 4th floor. There was no wait when we arrived. My brother said the total bill was ~$240 (6 adults and a toddler, no tipping). I think it was like mid $30s per adult for lunch. I couldn't find pricing posted at the front desk, just pricing for take out. My toddler is only 3 and my brother said they charged for him which I think is a little crazy because how much can a 3 year old eat at a buffet? When leaving I saw a child pricing chart on the wall but not sure how they use it because I didn't see them measuring my child's height or ask about age. The Buffet had hot foods relatively typical of a Chinese buffet (I actually saw my dad get frog legs which was different!), dim sum, cold foods, American foods like pizza and nuggets (I would never eat American stuff at a Chinese buffet though), sushi, a hibachi station, Peking duck, soups, fruits, dessert (cakes, pudding, yogurt, jello, chocolate fondue, dessert soups, etc), ice cream (matcha, vanilla or combo of both), fresh cotton candy and a crepe station. The food was hit or miss. Some stuff was pretty good and some was just mediocre. Everything was always stocked even if some of the plates/displays were half full which to me is fine because I'm assuming they just make small batches of fresh food? The sushi wasn't that great in my opinion (at least the ones I tried) despite there being a variety. My favorite is eel and the eel they had was very dry and minimal. Not a big deal but it would be a little helpful if the food signs indicated if the dish was spicy. I don't like any spice and I got some noodles which I thought weren't spicy, offered it to my toddler and he was upset lol. I heard someone at another table order bubble tea but our table just ordered hot tea, water and the kiddo got an OJ which tasted very artificial to me. The whole dining area was very bright and clean with a modern look. The wait staff were attentive, constantly clearing plates that were finished. Since we went in the afternoon, there was a lot of natural light due to their floor to ceiling windows which I loved. Being on the 4th floor you have nice views from that height. I know they have bathrooms but I didn't use them. When we were leaving around 2pm, the place was packed! Remember to validate your parking at the front desk of the restaurant otherwise parking is crazy expensive. I believe you get a $2 discount so we paid $4 for parking and were there approximately 2 hours. Pay for your parking on the first floor right outside the elevators at the machine. Hold onto your ticket because when you exit the lot, you have to feed the ticket into the machine. Food is mediocre at best. For a buffet it is what it is. What's worse is that we've been here for an hour, it's now 1pm and a full house. This was reviewed by some youtubers I follow and received high ratings. However, these high ratings are in no way deserved. First of all, the food is, at best mediocre. Considering the dinner price is 54.99, mediocre food might as well be garbage. Their customers are paying these ridiculously high prices and getting food that is mid-grade at best. Second, their advertised price is not always the price you pay. As I mentioned, the advertised price for one adult dinner is 54.99. On holidays like Mother's Day, they increase it by at least 4.00. Where I come from, the advertised price is honored. Extra charges should be listed as part of the advertised price, not sprung on a customer like some sort of trap when they've already been seated and ate. Finally, the restaurant clearly has no plan or system for dealing with large crowds. It shouldn't be difficult to seat a single traveler in a timely manner, even on a very busy day. I had to wait over an hour. All in all, I cannot recommend The Buffet in good conscience. It's overpriced, has mediocre food, and offers little value for money. This buffet in Flushing is located on the fourth floor of Hotel Point with validated parking. This restaurant offers a variety of dining options including dim sum, sushi, ramen, seafood, steak, peking duck, desserts, etc... The buffet is open at 5:30pm on Saturday and I went there 15 minutes earlier. The line does get really long and the wait will be at least 1 hr. They served us lobsters when I got seated. Seafood so fresh. Not good. Sushi wasn't fresh also found a piece of plastic in the sushi. Selection was meh. Oxtail still tough and other food was all pretty meh. Service was good. The only good things were probably the mayo shrimp and peking duck. Would never come back. Also in a shady area shared with a hotel. read more

I have been to this buffet several times. This is one of the best buffets, I've been to and always look forward to dining here. It's a bit pricey but it's worth it. The only negative, is that I can't eat as much as I want due to my limited stomach capacity :-). The quality of food here is much better than other buffets. Really, I don't think I've had any bad dishes here. Some of my favorites. - The lobsters. The servers walk around and handed me a half lobster. - The sushi - all fresh and delicious - The made to order hibachi - Again, every dish is delicious. -The deserts, specifically , the macarons. I think each time, I had about 10 as they are very light. Service is very good, especially, as we went with a regular customer who comes every month. We are driving from Westchester and Rockland.
