It's almost scammish the way it comes off. The classes so far are excellent, teachers are great, the pace is fine. It's the horrid financial aid office you have to deal with. If students rely on finaid to cover tuition and living expenses it is their DUTY to answer the phone, to be responsive! This is stressful and ridiculous. You should never get a voice mail when calling a financial aid office of a college! Especially the start of school.

What they may not realize is that while that experience is great for many people, yet others may be looking for a different experience. The ASU Polytechnic Campus is smaller than the Tempe Campus yet it's a community where every student has the potential to feel connected with resources and it is still large enough that there is usually something happening. It's growing as a campus and has transformed from a former Air Force base to a commuter campus to a residential campus in recent years with over 1,000 bed spaces living on-campus in traditional residence halls and single-shared or family houses. Opened in 1996, the ASU Polytechnic Campus was founded as ASU East on the former Williams Air Force Base in Mesa. The newest residence halls Century Hall opened in 2012 while Lantana Hall opened in 2000. The campus has strong partnerships with Chandler-Gilbert Community College and the surrounding Mesa area with the Mesa Gateway Airport right next door. The ASU Preparatory Middle and High Schools are right on the ASU Polytechnic Campus, too. While ASU Polytechnic is the home of numerous academic colleges and programs, they are known for their engineering programs and aviation programs and flight centers. As the campus continues to grow each year, the number of buildings on campus continue to increase. In addition to academic buildings, there are student services available in the Academic Center (home to a computer lab and the library), the Administration Building, several of the Quad buildings, and the Student Union. There is also the Simulator Building and the Technology Center along with residence halls and houses, a dining hall (also home to the Multicultural Communities of excellence and a small marketplace), and the Sun Devil Fitness Complex. There is also the ASU Charter monument. Needless to say, there is something for everyone on the ASU Polytechnic Campus. At the Polytechnic Campus, every student can drive their own experience as they engage in the events and resources on-campus while attending classes, getting an on-campus job, landing an internship or full-time job, joining clubs and organizations, attending many free events and activities, and so much more. The Dean of Students Office (in the Academic Center) and the many student services offices at ASU Polytechnic are always there for students, and it's easy to find your way towards graduation and your future when taking advantage of these resources. Then I asked them to confirm if the outlandish number I was seeing was accurate and they couldn't give me an answer I had to ask 6 more times via calls and emails. When I finally convinced someone to respond to me via email? Yes, the outlandish number was correct. Having two associates and a bachelors already, Arizona State still wanted me to take general education classes on top of literally double the amount of classes my current college required for their CS degree. It was quite literally shocking and wasted everyone's time by not simply having a transfer tool or DARS report available for potential students. All in all, I highly recommend anyone considering Arizona State to compare schools, as attending ASU would have increased my degree runway by more than a year and cost me thousands more dollars for the exact same degree.

But It was Way Too hard & serious & too much homework, really burned my kids out. The classrooms have 2 teachers so it's non stop emails and conferences. Also a Hard school to attend for working parents. I want communication but it's too much here. Maybe it's because my kids were behind the other kids that have been here since kinder? It just felt like they wanted us to leave. It's Not a very loving or fun school either. More like a school for Type A kids & super advanced kids that like to study all day. The teachers are exceptional, the curriculum is rich, and the specials program (Spanish, music, art, PE) help form well-rounded kids. Each year, our kids had two off-campus field trips, several on-campus performances, two choir concerts, Olympic Field day, Fine Arts Night, and several in-class science experiences, such as dissections. The homework is substantial, the tests and quizzes are challenging, and the teachers expect a lot from the kids. It's not easy to get into this school (lottery and waiting lists) but it's every bit worth the effort. My kids will both graduate from here probably more capable than I was when I graduated college. The teachers are available virtually ANY time for tutoring, and the staff and parents group are both above excellent. Glad I found this school, and you will be too.

I didn't realize how often we drove past this place! The choir concert was inside of the Bulpitt Auditorium. Beautiful space, but definitely has seen better times. The chairs and the doors squeak a little, the acoustics are a little muffled but it was still pleasant! Campus was very well kept as well!

I really just can't imagine having our kids in any other school…read more Our oldest child is in PACE and the academic standards for the entire school are not too far behind. We have loved nearly all of the teachers that have had the honor of teaching our children. For the ones we didn't quite love as much, well, you win some, you lose some. Some people just don't get along with each other. I can not say anything bad about their skills as teachers because my children are all coming along fine. Their personalities just weren't for us as I'm sure our personalities weren't for them. The Learning Patch is awesome and I truly wish I had more time to volunteer and be a more active part of the PTA. The garden is completely volunteer run, so if you have some extra time on a scheduled workday, please stop by. If you have things to donate: plants, seeds, gardening tools, etc... those things are all happily accepted as well. The PTA: without question or argument, this school would not be what it is without the immense amount of parent involvement. I have heard several people make mention of the the PTA being "cliquish" but I have not personally experienced that type of behavior. I admittedly do not participate as often as I would like to but any time that I have stopped in, I have felt welcomed. I can not recommend this school enough. It has an amazing community.

While I don't remember everything about my own elementary school experience, I know it was nothing like that provided at Broadmor. From the on-site, student and volunteer run garden to the impressive library, from the fall festival and spring Hoodstock events to regular field days and even a visit from members of the Ironman Foundation, Broadmor continues to deliver a great experience to its students and serves as a place where enduring friendships are made. The teachers, administrators and staff are an amazing group of individuals who all really seem to care about each students and his/her success.
