My first class back was a full 90-minute traditional class (all 26 postures, twice) with a newer instructor - I used a towel briefly, just for grip during bow pose, and it wasn't an issue at all. In my next two classes, at two different locations, more experienced instructors firmly enforced a strict no-towel policy, citing traditional Bikram purity. What's interesting is that this doesn't match the studio's own history. A 5-star review on this page from about three years ago specifically recommends bringing both a large towel for your mat and a small towel to wipe sweat - and the owner replied directly thanking the reviewer and welcoming them to the community. So towels were clearly fine at one point. The studio also modifies the traditional method in other ways today (music in the 60-minute class, dog yoga), so the current strict enforcement feels selectively applied rather than a consistent, longstanding rule. Worth knowing going in if you sweat heavily or need a towel for grip on certain poses - bring a sweatshirt or wristbands as a workaround, or ask before you book.

I'll preface this by saying I consider myself an intermediate level when it comes to my Pilates/lagree practice, with close to 100 classes under my belt and one year of experience in different studios in LA. I was excited seeing all the wonderful reviews, beautiful photos of the studio, and the Allegro 2 reformer (which I use every week), but instead of classical Pilates, this felt more like a Tracy Anderson-type exercise class where you're just kind of blindly following along what the teacher demonstrates. The class I took was very fast paced and an excellent cardio workout, but I could barely tell what the teacher was demonstrating (since we were all lying down on the reformer), and I could tell that quite a few of the other students in the class seemed to be struggling too, since everyone was doing a different version of the exercise being called. Most of the class was leg focused, with 30+ minutes of just jumping off the board and doing different leg exercises in the air before landing. While I understand that a light spring load was necessary for such a long leg-focused workout, I also found it dangerous since there's much less resistance, and a lot of us were slamming the reformer on accident or landing incorrectly/harshly, which can cause serious injury. Abs and arms were fine for me, but I definitely saw some other students who were struggling or completely could not do the exercises at all. The teacher didn't walk around or correct at all the entire class, and I felt like a lot of us could've benefited from extra attention given the high injury potential of the exercises we were doing. Front desk was nice but....really not attentive, and completely forgot to do intake + liability waivers for new clients. I had to remind her that I was still waiting to fill out the forms after class, and instead of finding online/physical paper forms (which most studios in my experience always carry), she asked us to go through our email/the website to find the forms ourselves and fill them out on our own time. Definitely a bit disappointed considering how much I wanted to love this studio and regularly incorporate my Pilates practice on my monthly visits to Reno, but unfortunately, this won't be the studio for me.

About a year ago, I discovered a new business in South Reno for target exercising with 2 sections , 20 min each weekly. I like this concept of " work hard " and being in and out in 20 min. There is science behind these machines and exercises. You may monitor your progress in muscle growth and strength at the computer monitors attached to each machine. They keep your weekly records to compare. The stuff is absolutely outstanding. I enjoy having a coach by my side while I am exercising to keep me motivated. I couldn't be happier with my results. I have noticed a difference in my muscles within the first couple of weeks. I highly recommend this business to anyone, especially busy moms

The Guide: Uma * Fun Flow Friday (Heated) Uma began by singing an intentional invocation. A spiritual reset, if you will. We could join in or simply receive the vibration. Then we connected to our breath. As we breathed, Uma introduced ahimsa: Nonviolence. Non-harming. For tonight: Be ABSURDLY kind to yourself. Speak kindly to yourself. Move freely. Smile. Play. After all, this was Friday-night yoga! Then came a first for me in a flow class: Face yoga. Squint the eyes and nose. Relax. Smile as wide as possible. Relax. Then, a gentle warm-up. A few Cat-Cows. Sun A. Next, Uma set us free: Explore. Smile. Do what feels good in your body. Sun B followed. In Warrior II, Uma paused for a little mythology: Virabhadrasana takes its name from Virabhadra, the warrior created by Shiva. Fun fact. Then...back to the flow. Add the vinyasa. Skip the vinyasa. Play. Once we were open and vibrantly alive, Uma paused again. Introduce yourself to the yogis beside you. Say hello. Give 'em a high-five. Then, back to the flow. Uma's energy filled the room. And yes, joy is contagious! Eventually, Uma guided us into Savasana. A cold, wet towel at the top of each mat. And then, stillness. The Music: Think songs like Shape of You reimagined through Carnatic music. Familiar enough to recognize, with a rhythm that moved the whole room. The Tribe: This was not a room of people pretending not to notice one another. We smiled. We played. We exchanged names and high-fives. After class, still moved by the energy, I introduced myself to Uma and asked her for a fun fact. She had recently found the time and space to complete yoga teacher training. Then came the real surprise: This was the first class she had ever taught. Her first! You would have never known. Uma grew up practicing yoga beside her father. Years later, that practice found its way through her and into this room, a room full of yogis smiling, moving, and helping welcome her into the next chapter. The Space & Place: Bright. Colorful. Full of personality. A cheerful wall of class notes. Playful signs. Colorful bolsters and cushions. A boutique filled with yoga wear, singing bowls, and small bells. Not only does this Lagree studio provide a challenging workout, but there is such a sense of community. The owners Amie and Carli have taken the approach of cultivating a space open to anyone. There are weekly and monthly events. There are educational talks about menopause, pelvic floor, pregnancy. There are challenges that keep you motivated. But the most amazing part of Peach, is the teachers. I have gone to many Pilates/Lagree studios in Reno and this is the one where I have found such a depth in the quality of teachers. It seems like training is an integral part of Peach, and that shows in the instructors. I do have my personal favorites (looking at you Kaylee, Audrey, Perla, Amie) but every time I decide to take a different teacher due to some scheduling conflicts, I'm still loving the workout. I've also taken some classes with brand new teachers that I'm excited to take again. Finally, the space is absolutely beautiful.
