Mixed (Pork Mixed Chicken) Gyros Pita with side of Tzatziki

Impromptu afternoon lunch at Messini was a great idea. Seated immediately and the food came out quickly. Tasted like your authentic Greek pita, similar to Greco's in the states if you've had that before. Definitely going again to try out more on my next visit.

Messini Gyros nails it with fully loaded, no-nonsense gyros. Lots of meat, crispy fries, and all the fixings wrapped in warm pita. The portions are massive, so come hungry. The place has the charm of an old-school institution, and, it's pronounced Yee-roh.

I get why Messini is a neighbourhood staple with its food and vibe. Stopped by for lunch and got the chicken gyro pita. The chicken was pretty tasty, there was a good heaping of meat and fries for what it cost. Also, there's definitely a loudly fun vibe to this place that welcomes you as much as the food does. I guess that combination is why this spot has been a Danforth go-to.

Messini's is great value! Portions are very large and you get a nice variety of food with the plates (comes with a salad and your choice of rice/fries/roasted potatoes). A wrap costs $12 and a plate cost $24. Everything here was seasoned really well (not too salty). The Greek salad was fresh and came with a good amount of feta. The only thing I'll say is I would have liked the fries to be more crispy. If you're getting the plate, I recommend getting either rice or the roasted potatoes. The pictures don't do this justice - the portions are very big! Great place to satisfy your cravings at great value.

The food was very fresh! Super tasty, staff is chill, if you're looking for fine dining this isn't the spot. But if you want some tasty food with great portions. This is a really great greek spot.

Had Sunday late lunch there with my friends. We had to wait to get a table for 20 min. Because this place is quite popular, also service is a lit bit slow. Food is delicious and prices are affordable, big portions. Greek salad was amazing, pork gyro - highly recommended !

Delicious! I visited tonight and had a wonderful time. Despite the fact that I was dining by myself, I was treated well and given a table right away. I ordered the calamari and a pork souvlaki. They gave me so much calamari that I never made it to the souvlaki and had to bring it back to my hotel. The calamari was fantastic, I highly recommend it. Service was excellent and the prices were very reasonable. If you're in the neighborhood, stop in.

Looking for some traditional Greek food? Messini Authentic Gyros has been a mainstay on the Danforth for decades. I remember coming here late at night after going to bars. The best gyros wrap with choice of pork, chicken, lamb or beef. There are french fries stuffed on the top. Fully loaded with tzatziki, tomatoes and red onions. You can upgrade to Greek fries for $3.50. We ordered the double gyros pita dinner which comes with Greek salad and choice of fries, roasted potatoes or rice. If you're looking for some awesome Greek food and affordable prices, then make the trip to Danforth for some hot Greek eats!

My go-to spot in Greektown for cheap and tasty Greek food with enormous portions! The inside is nice and cozy although a bit dated, but you're really coming here for the tasty food! I usually get their pork gyros meat platter with Greek salad and Greek fries, and honestly that is enough to feed 2 people. Portions are massive, both the main and sides are tasty, and the food comes quick! Service is friendly and fairly attentive though can be slow during busier times. Glad they've been around for so many years and hope they stay around for many more!

Grabbed lunch here with friends and ordered the mixed lamb/beef gyro wrap, Greek fries and calamari. The portion of the wrap is HUGE! It was filled with meat, tzatziki, fries and tomatoes. I wish there was a bit more freshness in there as a dressing or lettuce to help cut the fat. The Greek fries also came in a big portion with a pile of coin cut potatoes and melty feta. I think the potatoes would benefit from being tossed in a seasoning first since it was a bit bland. I also wish the fries and wrap were a bit hotter. The calamari is the must order here. The portion is more than fair for the price and was fried fresh, with thick cut tender pieces that were cooked perfectly.

I first discovered Messini in late 2019, and have been coming pretty consistently since! The standout for me has been their chicken gyro, which is always packed with flavour.

Food - amazing! Service - super chill and knowledgeable staff Ambience - greek place all the way ZIVELI KANADA!!!

$26 bucks pre tax, could've grabbed a prime rib

MIXED LAMB/BEEF GYROS PITA $23.50 Lamb/Beef shaved from the spit and served in a wrapped pita topped with onions, tomatoes, tzatziki and french fries Salad was fresh. Fries were okay. The lamb wasn't good, barely noticed it mixed with beef? I don't like the either well done,it seemed over cooked. Tzatziki, yikes. How can this be off IN GREEK town? Disappointed. Back to drawing board for a good Greek spot.

Patio is covered and heated and on Friday & Saturday nights will only offer bottle service and dance parties with a live DJ. We made a reservation for Friday evening on the patio. Unfortunately, the servers seated all couples cramped in one corner, even though there were many tables available; that made everyone uncomfortable. We ordered Red Wine, "Trio Dip" and "Spaducci Skewers". The food was delicious, but we could've enjoyed our night even more if the sitting arrangements were better.

The service was good, she was sweet the ambiance was nice but overall, the food review for most guest present was below average. Several chicken skewers brought to the table were uncooked (pink) and had to sent back for further cooking.

Me and some family members were in the area, and decided to give it a try. We were greeted and seated promptly and then, for the longest time ... nothing. As it turned out, we'd spend a lot longer at this restaurant than we had anticipated. After about 20 minutes, a kind and apparently exhausted waitress appeared, so we ordered drinks and saganaki to start. 10 minutes later, our drinks appeared, and we ordered our main courses then. Although the menu gave prices for wine by the glass, half litre or bottle, we were told that they don't have enough wine to offer any more than a glass at a time. Strange, and unexpected. Eventually, the saganaki (Greek flaming cheese) arrived, and it was really, really good - a generous triangle of grilled, flaming cheese, easily split between the three of us. It was served with some odd bread, which resembled buttered and toasted hot dog or burger buns. This helped take the edge off our hunger as we waited for our main course. And waited. Looking at the time, I noticed that we had already spent over 60 minutes in the restaurant, which was extremely chilly on a cold winter's evening. Many customers, including us, wore their coats throughout the evening. Apparently, the restaurant dining area is heated only by two electric fire places. Our waitress came out and let us know that we had to wait because my daughter's order of octopus was taking a while. At this point, we had already committed to being here, so we had no choice but to see it through. Finally, the food came out. My daughter's octopus was, sadly, overcooked and tough, but still tasty, and the lemon roasted potatoes were excellent. My husband's roasted lamb did not seem like it was prepared as a roast, as there was no browning or roast] flavor, but seemed to have been prepared in a pressure cooker or slow cooker. I had ordered the Moussaka, and had high expectations, based on my memory of Milo's creamy, eggplant-filled, nicely seasoned Moussaka of my distant, long-ago previous visit. However, my portion of Moussaka had the oddest texture: rather mushy and grainy. The well-seasoned, savory tasting ground beef of my memories had now been transformed into a rather average-tasting ground beef mixture that would have been equally at home in a sloppy joe. And I could not find an eggplant in the casserole at all ... well, maybe it had somehow been reduced to such mushiness that it lost it's eggplant quality, but I could swear that it was missing. It was all edible food, though, but not up to our expectations. I hate to give any place a lowly, two-star review. I had hoped for much more, because there is so much about Milo's to raise one's hopes: it's not a big chain, but locally, family-run; it has an appealing and timeless Mediterranean decor; and the menu offers many interesting Greek choices. A few small changes would be an upgrade: better bread, some additional staff and a few space heaters would be a good start. Milo's is the type of restaurant that I would love to support, but I've read enough reviews with similar observations that I am unlikely to return.

While in line, someone suggested the souvlaki and I was already aiming to get a gyro so I knew we were gonna be good. Parking was busy but not impossible to find here. It's fast casual. You can get food, some extra desserts and drinks/coffee and extra pita/flatbread or tzatziki sauce. I got a gyro and a "small" poutine. Let me just say that I've had a LOT of gyros and this one was by far the best. Tons of meat, toppings, just enough tzatziki that I didn't want to order an extra side (still should've). The poutine was enough to feed a family of four. Holy smokes this was spectacular. I'd have gotten extra gravy bc it's so much tastier here in Canada than anyplace in the USA. Family owned, this is a great place to come alone or with friends. You can eat something different every single time and it's just so delicious. I will be back. The salad will forever have too much dressing and will be the unhealthiest thing but the souvlaki here was honestly the most shocking thing. Mind you I have not been in six and a half or seven years so don't take my word for it, but for a place to be around this long and still have loyal customers - they're really doing something right, it's not just sheer luck so give it a go! There is zero ambiance or date night feel here, okay. Don't take your girl unless you've been married over ten years. It's boys or girls night out material only. haha
