Please bring back the food truck! It was the best place ever. No tacos compare to these and I'm so sad they haven't been open!

I ate at this food truck at mile high spirits during Rockies opening day. I assumed this place was a second rate food truck (coming from cali. I am a colorado native though) BUT it was by far some of the best tacos I have ever had! Truthfully it could have been because I was drunk too, but they were soo good. I believe I got 3 different types of meat and it seemed to me that the meat is stewed. I also got an order of the mile high fries, they were SO DANK. I couldnt stop eating them and decided to steal some from my friends. Funny story, I shared a bite with all of my friends and they all went and got their own tacos and fries. Hire me now as your marketing manager, I am taking applications :). Whenever I am back in town I will definitely be trying to find Mestizos. read more

MESTIZOS! Wow. I had 3 tacos. Chicken, Veggie and Al Pastor. They were all 3 incredible and I couldn't even hardly tell which was which because of all the unexpected and interesting ingredients! I don't know how they pack so much onto the tortillas without them ripping but they are experts! I have never in my life met a more friendly person at a food truck. The man taking our orders was friendly and had excellent customer service skills. One thing: definitely ask them what is on the tacos/burrito/nachos. There are a lot of unexpected ingredients and if you have any dietary restrictions you might be surprised in a bad way. Mestizos! Come to Lowry every Friday! read more

We first tried Mestizos several months ago when they were still trying pretty hard to do the Mexican/Asian fusion thing but it wasn't quite....fusing. Like standard tacos with hoisin sauce. Now I think they've focused the menu a bit more on the Mexican side of the aisle (with a few well thought out nods to staples/condiments from other cuisines) and serve up tasty food truck bites but a bit small for the price (hence the word bites). Case in point: the quesadillas are $7 but they're comprised of just one folded over tortilla versus two stacked on top of each other. They are really tasty though, and are drizzled with sour cream, sriracha, and a sweet chipotle honey drizzle. Quesadillas come with a choice of meat or mushrooms. The guac is cleverly served "on the half shell" as in spooned back into the avocado peel and topped with some salsa fresca. But again, $4 gets you a half shell worth of guac and a handful of pretty standard bagged tortilla chips. It's on the whipped side, and even though I'm a chunky guac gal, I found it to be pretty tasty. Our group of four ended up sharing two orders (and I could have very easily had my own). Mestizos is frequently parked on the "RiNo" side of town so often in front of Black Shirt or Mile High Spirits. While I think the prices could be reduced a tad (or portions be increased a bit) I wouldn't dissuade others from getting some of their guac and quesadillas and sharing with me. read more

I've never written a yelp! review in my life but my experience with this food was so amazing that I HAVE to do SOMETHING! incredible food! i was at mile high spirits for bar trivia and order me and my boyfriend and our friend each a taco. they were so mind meltingly good that my boyfriend went back out to the food truck and ordered us two quesadillas and they were equally delicious. eating food from Mestizos has been the best food truck experience I've ever had in Denver. I plan on going back to Mile High Spirits in hopes of getting their food again. also the infused vodka at MHS doesn't hurt ;) read more

They were scheduled to host our food truck night at our hotel.. We advertised for three weeks. I sent an email confirmation the week and the day before. Day of, they did not show up. No calls, no answer to my calls, nothing. We had about 50 people standing around upset. When I finally got a hold of someone they said they were hosting a night at another hotel because I was "no longer with the company" as confirmed by the hotel that essentially stole them from us. Seriously?? You can't take two seconds to call our business line to confirm that not only do I work here but that we still had an appointment with you? Not to mention, maybe they should have called Marriott to see why the other hotel was calling the day of in such a hurry to get them there. read more

Just got some free tacos from Mestizos at Argonaut! I love authentic tacos and Mestizos has a glorious fusion of authentic and contemporary bistro style. Rawr the burritos are delicious. Very unique in flavor and very friendly service. I took off a star because their burritos have cabbage in them, and I'm allergic to cabbage which I know is totally random and weird but I literally mowed through 3/4th of my burrito before my better half realized what was in it and snatched it away from me. At this point, I was ready to just eat it all because I was so far in. However I stopped, and loaded up on the benadryl. Next time maybe I'll just order it without cabbage or get the tacos. I read other Yelp reviews, just to see what type if food it was, and everyone had something great to say about their food. Sold! I went to order,and asked what they were kind of "known for", and ordered tacos. Oh. My. Deliciousness. Seriously delicious. I ordered one Carne Asada taco and one (hadtohaveitbecauseofthename!) "Fog Horn, Leg Horn" chicken taco! Literally the first bite from the plate handed to me by the adorable cook, was amazingly good....Refreshing and filling and spicy (just the right amount) and a little creamy and just really tasty! Super nice guys working the truck, too. Easy on the eyes and all that. :) Seriously, if you see this truck, even if you are just a little bit hungry...Order Up! It's well worth it. read more

While waiting outside of Mile High Spirits one night, my girlfriend and I were so distracted by the smells coming off this food truck that we aborted all missions for debauchery for full food coma commitment and they did not disappoint! I ordered their veggie burrito and it still soothes my soul and finds its way into my dreams. I would highly recommend checking these guys out when you get a chance because they do Mexican food trucks in a perfect way! Now that we have had Mestizos, you'll be hard-pressed to find us anywhere else for a veggie burrito. If you do find us anywhere else then slap some sense into us and say, "YOU FOOL! The woman who greeted us was unpleasant, mildly speaking. She responded to me ordering with an air of disdain, as if I was inconveniencing her by ordering food from her food truck. After that "situation" was cleared up, I gave her my credit card, and she swiped and handed me her phone to sign. The signature prompt was upside down, which I informed her of, and was then told I was trying to steal from her and she retracted her arm and then she chose a 25% tip and signed my form. OMG the best street tacos I have had in a very long time. I went to the taco festival and this was the best, the other stands were lacking flavor and spilling grease. I had the chili lime chicken tacos bursting with flavors, lime, pineapple, chicken, etc etc. I love this little place, not greasy, filling little tacos packed with a punch. Food: I'd say about 3 stars. Nothing great but not bad Price: I'd say 1 star. Way too much for too little. Service: 1 star. I Ordered food at a time when they were clearly busy and they let me know it would be about 20 minutes. No problem, I was around to hang out. After about 45 minutes still no food. Returned to truck to ask for money back and was rudely told This isn't fast food. Then very fast my food was ready. Surprising since it isn't fast food. After returning and eating another employee came over to give money back but I had my food so I didn't take it. This place was across from Mile High Spirits and taunting me through my window (I live across the street). So I finally wandered over. I got their taco trio, which was a pork green chile, asada, and some type of beef taco I cant remember (all for $10, not a bad price). They were some really interesting combos when I got them: one of my tacos was topped with hot sauce and a blackberry, and I remember thinking "Not sure about this...." but holy crap it's so good! SO. GOOD. The combos are unique but complement each other and taste so amazing. My tacos were gone much too fast for my liking. Literally these tacos have the ability to bring tears to your eyes (or maybe I just have a low hot sauce tolerance. Could go either way) and I highly recommend checking them out if you see them around! Staff were friendly, food came fast, doesn't get much better. read more

I was so happy when I saw the Mestizos Food Truck parked in front of Mile High Spirits one night after hanging out for first friday. Their steak quesadilla with pineapple was SO good and had really great flavors. I love the sweet and spicy twist on their asian/mexican influenced food! Also love the staff and the reasonable prices. This place is hands down my favorite food truck in Denver. I seek this place out when I go out. Not only is the regular fare tremendous (I usually opt for tacos to get a bit of variety) but the specials are always a must try. Recently, the chicken waffle taco was superb and I have been craving it ever since. Jose needs to bring that thing back! I can safely say: Best "street" food I've ever had. All the tacos had distinctive sauces for each meat or veggie option and all were phenomenal! I can't remember the spanish word for it but the TONGUE taco was bomb! I had the chance to try all the tacos; the tongue, canitas, chicken and beef.. (i think? it was late night so the memory is a little hazy) But every variety was dank, all well seasoned, yet not over seasoned--and saucy but not messy. the service was super fast and the workers pleasant, food was delicious and has been dependable every time i've seen them... and to top it off, it's really cheap!! 5 stars--look for that Mestizos truck around town! read more

My Wife and I went the Wildernesstival Craft beer and music festival near Hot Sulfur Springs. Mestizos Food Truck was there and everyone was talking about how good the food was, Well I we love tacos so it wasn't long before we ended up at the truck to order some lunch. We each ordered a plate of three tacos, one each of the three that were on the menu. All I can say is WOW, these are the best tacos I have eaten anywhere. The pork tacos were to die for and they were my wife's and my favorite. The second day I ordered a burrito and it was equally delicious. Later that afternoon I was fishing in the river and had caught and released a few brook and brown trout. It had been a while since I had any action and I was about to call it a day when a nice little brown took my lure. The fish was hooked pretty bad and I didn't think it would make it so I kept the fish. I didn't bring any thing with me to cook the fish so I wasn't sure what I would do. My walk back to the cabin took me past the festival and the Mestizos Food Truck. At that moment it dawned on me that a few fish tacos would be perfect but I doubted whether they would have the time such an undertaking. I stopped and talked to Jose to see if he could help and was amazed at his willingness to make it happen, in fact he seemed excited at the chance to be creative with the ingredients he had on hand. We gave the fish to Jose and went to sit in the shade and enjoy some music and cold beer. I wasn't long before Jose and Cinthya brought our tacos to us. Absolutely amazing what they were able to do with that trout, they made three fish tacos that were ridiculously delicious, they used the skin of the trout to make two small flowers that were stuffed with seasonings and cheese and used them to garnish the plate. We ate the flowers first and they were great. Jose later explained that Cinthya had been the mastermind behind creating the fish tacos. If you ever see the Mestizos Food Truck do yourself a favor and give them a try. We had a great time getting to know Jose and Cynthia and look forward to seeing you guys in the future. read more

I met Jose in front of Mile High Spirits after enjoying 3 delicious chicken tacos. His truck said he catered so I booked August 31, 2013 to come feed 50 of my closest friends and family for my birthday party. We agreed for him to show up from 3-5pm for $500.00. On August 31st I called him at 2pm he said he was prepping food and he'll be at my place at 3pm. 3pm comes and goes 5pm comes and still no call, then I was told he was at a bar 1/2 a block from my party serving tacos . I walked up and was told his other truck broke down and he was going to take this last order and come over to my party. As I waited he kept taking more orders, in my head all I was thinking was I had 50 people wonder where the food truck was. He was rude and inconsiderate of our agreement to serve my party. I would never recommend this food truck for any catering events! He never came so I ordered elsewhere. read more

Every time I eat here I get the runs for days, so I assume the quality of the products used to create the dishes here aren't quite up to gourmet quality.The food claims to be so 'gourmet' but this place is nothing more than an exalted roach coach with a fancy paint job and 'gourmet' on the side. This place is terrible. The food is awful. The servers are rude and the food is overpriced. Don't go there even if it is your only option.

There's something to say about fast food, and that's that until this historical moment in time, no road food, street food, fast food, or quick bite has ever been able to hit you with a flurry bomb of taste, keep the wallet's belly full, as well as make you feel so damn fine afterwards, you wanna run up and down the street spreading the fire of spice and love that was just hand served up to you. All that, wrapped in the right tortilla, layered with fresh mouth watering toppings and sauce and a warm hasta lavista from the friendly professional staff will send you on your way to an even better day; that's what Mestizo's is.
