Metal Fusion Plating - Metal Fabricators Near Me - Ponder, Texas

Do Not send anything to these guys, they turn out low quality work and have horrible customer service! I sent Dennis M. at Electrofusion - Metal Fusion Plating a plastic grill from an 80's Buick to be stripped/restored and re-chromed. He assured me that he could complete the job in 8-10 weeks and wanted to be paid over $800 in full upfront. I took him at his work and didn't try to negotiate the price or terms. The 10 weeks turned into 9 months of excuses, broken promises and gaps in communication. He said that he was having difficulty creating the factory looking edge between the chrome and black areas and assured me he'd find a solution. At the end of the 9th month, I gave him an ultimatum that it needed resolution. I also gave him 3 options to be fair, 1. send me a finished grill as promised, 2. send me an unfinished grill and a full refund or 3. pay me the cost of the grill core and refund the restoration charges in full and retain the grill. That would allow him and keep the grill and work on finishing it at his own pace, he could then sell it and recoup his investment. He no longer responds to my emails and has not refunded anything. About the only promise he kept was finally shipping the grill back to me. It was not finished to the state or standards we agreed on. It looks terrible, blobs of chrome and pits around the edges and its already peeling in some spots! It also has a nice crack through the bottom portion that was not there when it was shipped down. If anyone questions this review, be assured that i still have the proof to back up the claim! I have 9 months of email correspondence from the initial estimate, job description and expectations along with several before and after pictures along with video. I'll post the video on YouTube under the title "86 Buick regal grill restoration nightmare" if anyone wants to see it. I'd like an amicable resolution on this transaction, ghosting me and charging full price isn't very professional. read more

Please don't go here, you'll get scammed! My dad sent his car grill to get chromed and it was supposed to be done in 6 weeks. Instead of six weeks, it took 6 months and the job was never done. Along with getting his grill back six months later with no work done on it, he also never received his money back. The owner texted my dad multiple times saying they would give him a refund, but they never did and eventually stopped responding to my dad's messages. My dad tried to get the credit card company involved to get his money back but since it was over 60 days, he was unable to get it back. It's very unfortunate that my dad is trying everything he can do to get his money back and the company is refusing to give him a refund. Even though my dad had to wait 6 months for a service that was never completed, all he would like is to get his money back which he's been trying to do for the past 2 months since he's received his part back. I personally think this company is trying to take advantage of dad since he is an out of state client which makes it more difficult for my dad to get his money back. I will continue to share my review on other outlets and on social media until my dad gets his deserved refund! Please don't go here or run the risk of never getting your money back!! read more

Restoring an old motorcycle and some parts needed replating. Chrome plating came out great and parts completed when they said.

I shipped some engine parts to Metal Fusion to be copper plated as I read that this place is one of only few in the United States that can chrome, gold, or copper plate plastic pieces which is super hard to do. Dennis provided excellent customer service and explained the lengthy and difficult process to plate plastics. While it did take a bit longer than expected, I was very happy when I received my parts back. It definitely was worth the wait! I will be shipping him so more parts in the future to be plated. I highly recommend this place if your needing some items chrome, copper, or gold plate!! read more

Dennis is one of the few people willing to touch my project considering there aren't a lot of reliable companies in this line of work, especially here in the U.S. Most should understand the time it actually takes to do this type of work which I've learned from trial and error which is extremely expensive. I had a man communicate with me from Louisiana to ask if I had ever gotten my part back , the answer was still no after a year. He told me this outfit did the same thing to him , he sent some parts in for plating and never got all of his parts back .He's still waiting for the rest of them after 3 years...3 years !! I hated to tell him hey , your NOT going to get your parts back ok !! What a shady way to run a business!! Beware. Paid in full upfront ($900) with promise of 12 weeks max. Over 8 months went by. Promise after promise. Then a serious lack of response via text or email. Finally get a text saying everything is ready just needs to be shipped. Then totally ghosted. Had to have friend of mine from Texas show up to his place unannounced and "remove" my untouched parts from his shop. Total scam/fraud artist. Horrible company! I sent them my Harley parts on Feb 2, 2019 and full payment for chroming these parts on Feb 4, 2019. They promised the job would be done and shipped on Feb 8, 2019, but week after week and promise after promise they failed to complete the work. Finally on April 1, 2019 I requested that they just send my parts and money back to me, but they refuse to do either. It's now May 28, 2019 and they still have my parts and money. I've filed a complaint with the credit card money and hopefully will get my money back but Dennis is threatening to sell my parts. So, do yourself a favor and avoid these thieves at all costs! read more

We have a top-end custom hot rod shop, looking for a local plater. Sent parts to be polished, they did a good job. Sent a bumper and trim parts, decided to stop by the shop and see the operation. Very limited as to chrome plating large pieces, and we were not impressed with the quality of the chrome jobs we saw there. They wanted payment in full; I requested half down and balance when bumper was finished. After discussion at our shop, we decided we didn't want them to do any more work for us. I drove 2-1/2 hours to retrieve the bumper and trim pieces, was told my $425 check would be returned "Didn't have checkbook with him," so I knew I'd never see that $425. Worth the money to know what we were dealing with. One of the best chrome plating companies is Custom Chrome Plating in Euclid, Ohio; we sent our bumpers and trim to them. If you want plastic plating, Metal Fusion might be ok for you, but for anything high quality, would not recommend. read more
