We had a new furnace/Ac unit installed by another company 2 years ago. The unit never worked properly even after more than 10 service calls. I woke up to a cold house the week before Christmas. The motor on my 16-year-old furnace had seized. I called Metal Mechanics, and Michelle was able to get their service person to my house in less than an hour. Kyle figured out the problem right away and located the part in stock in Fort Collins. Mike Came to my home and did an estimate. Installed a brand new AC unit within my home. The System ran amazingly for a year Then a pressure sensor switch died rendering my system useless. It was my own mistake for not cleaning the system however they came and honored my warranty and didn't charge me a trip charge. They are a small family company. And they do great work. You just have to work with them as they are a smaller company they have small company tact. But personally I seek that out. In a long term scale its better to create good relationships rather then a fly by night service vendor. read more

Horrible customer service! We have lived in our brand new home for 3 years. When our air conditioner started acting up, we called Metal Mechanics and were told we were still under warranty and that they would send someone out to look at it. Melvin was in our home for 5 minutes and found a piece of styrofoam in one of the pipes. He removed it and was on his way. As I walked him out he notified me that it would be $80. I was shocked. Not only were we told we were still covered under warranty but he was in our home for 5 minutes and that Styrofoam could have easily been left from a bad install to begin with. When we called to get an explanation, we didn't get one, instead we were only told that if we didn't pay we would be sent to collections. Wow. Disappointed. Never using this company again! Metal mechanics is a local business. I have called them in the evening on the weekends and they have always gotten back to me. I have used them three times, two of which it was to tend to the air conditioner and one to put a humidifier on the furnace. They have never conned me into buying a new air conditioner unit or furnace. First time it was because the air conditioner was blocked with debris therefore rendering it inefficient in cooling the house. The second time was to put in a humidifier. The third time because my air conditioner was not functioning. Turns out the air conditioner was shorting out the furnace due to a corrupt component on the air conditioner. Lucky for me they did have a part on hand and I was up and running in 45 minutes. I have never been unsatisfied and what they charge me I would consider extremely Fair. I am now on their yearly maintenance check on the air conditioner for a low fee of under $100. read more
