He had funny jokes, great use of props and he used the audience multiple times throughout the show to do a trick. He actually called me up on stage to help with a part and it was great. He gave me one tip, "follow my lead" and I did. We did this funny act where we performed a skit in normal speed and then did it in super slow mo, the crowd was roaring in laughter and applause. The live performances were fun, and I can definitely see this becoming a staple for Reno Events. I didn't expect to pay $20 for entrance which was a bummer as we were going to bring more family and friends but the entry cost was a little too high for bringing kids. There were a nice set of carnival rides, but I was discouraged on buying tickets as we had already $40 to get into the event and wanted to save some of our budget to buy things from vendors. We went on the last day of the event, in the early afternoon and it was nice to see more locals enjoying themselves and it wasn't too crowded which was a plus in our book! My fiancé and I loved that dogs are welcome to join us as some other outdoor events do not allow us to bring our puppy. Overall, the variety of food, atmosphere, and performances were awesome! I only wish the entry price was reduced as I would've brought more people and would've had more money to spend on the vendors. Final verdict... I would definitely come back, but only if the entry prices come down or are removed. If this is your first time attending the event, the $20 is not so bad to see the art installations and see the live performances. I would recommend this for first timers.

The scare actors did a good job of being creepy and scary. I believe their site says not recommended for under 8, please adhere to this. There was a parent with two children who were younger and certainly did not enjoy the experience. Poor children might be scarred for life. The labyrinth style haunted house had good scares and creepy thrills. Certainly don't way to give anything away, but I can say we enjoyed it even with the minor hiccups and delayed start. I could tell they put a lot of work into this haunted house. Also, the Final Hour sign looks very cool and is a newer piece we were told.

Tonight the theme was the 80's and the crowd came out to represent, as costumes are highly encouraged. Incredible musicians fronted by a trio of exceptional vocalists, perfect weather (epic sunset) and a high energy environment created one of the summer's must-attend musical events. Under the incredible musical direction of Laura Jackson, the Reno Phil always delivers spot-on performances and tonight was a shining example of our Biggest Little City being a true hub for the arts. Keep an eye out for their ongoing performances and treat yourself, everything from traditional classical to movie themes on to modern interpretations, the Reno Phil is a gem!

I may have seen one or two live shows, pre-pandemic, but since the Pandemic, I've mostly purchased livestream tickets. I love watching the shows in the comfort of my living room. I know the artists prefer live guests in the audience, but for me, not living in Reno, the convenience of being able to buy a livestream ticket is awesome. And I feel less guilty, since this afternoon's live show was almost sold out. So the livestream tickets sales are icing on the cake. And they provide the opportunity, for people living in rural Nevada, to see these amazing performances without having to travel. I wish the livestream ticket option would spread. But for now, I'm happy to support and watch the Reno Phil.

Great people-watching for sure and I enjoyed seeing the amazing costumes people put together. Everyone dressed very differently - a little bit of steampunk, Victorian, Gothic, Dr. Who, Burning Man and a handful of pirates - what a visual feast for the eyes. Most of the events switched back and forth from Piper's Opera House to the Silver Queen hotel and bar. The soiree was entertaining, though not very many people came. Great to see ladies of all ages and sizes and body types put on their best zumba-like and belly-dancish moves to keep the crowd entertained. The emcee was a hoot with her dry sense of humor. There was an hour's break until the ball started so we had to leave; people wandered back to the Silver Queen or a local bar. The ball itself started with a kind of contra-dancing (WTF? Apparently this was supposed to help people get to know each other,but I think it lasted about an hour TOO long - my personal opinion) that lasted close to two hours. Again, great people watching. The main band didn't start until after 10ish. Not exactly my kind of music - I can't even describe it! - but people seemed to enjoy dancing to it. The ticket included light snacks (lemonade, ice tea, water + cheese and a selection of tiny cookies) and a photo booth opportunity (but you have to pay to get a print of the photo).
