    Used soap bar
    Drew S.

We walked into our room after a 9 hour drive to a used room....the sheets were all messed up and the pillows were on the floor. In the bathroom there was toothpaste splatter on the mirror and a used soap bar! I couldn't ever recommend this place to anyone ever.

My room's headboard was very dusty

The room was kinda in need of more cleaning, dusty , mold in the shower . Parking was confusing, elevator was not working so had to walk more. Pool was not open because of construction, what are the additional fees for. Resort fees and parking is additional

    INVOICE FOR 2 NIGHTS

My wife and I were there for 2 nights. She needs a wheelchair. The handicapped parking is on the 3rd floor. There are no automatic doors to get to the elevator so we had to hold them open to get through. Same with the doors to the lobby. The ones by the escalators by the lobby were automatic but were not working as was the elevator to get to the casino. I had to push her very far to get to an elevator that went to the casino. The doors to the rooms slam shut quickly. there is a lot of construction going on and dust and noise. We paid $662.23 for 2 nights. That included $20 a day for parking and $29.95 a day for a resort fee even though the pool and spa were closed. Horrible!

    Broken panel

Extremely disappointed with our stay. This is a casino however the craps table is only opened on weekends!?!? We have comp offers yet the pet stay was not included so we ended up paying full price for Sunday night. Many issues including a broken phone so I could not contact housekeeping or guest services and a remote with missing backing, dirty room with leftover food in the fridge, coffee stained counters, dusty and dead bugs, also only one robe when we had requested a 2 person room. I should have read reviews prior visiting. I won't be recommending this hotel.

    Balcony suite living room

Recently upgraded and renamed, the "new" Caesars Republic is the nicest resort in South Lake Tahoe now. We stayed in a balcony suite and enjoyed Caesars Republic's efforts to bring back the luster of the old Harvey's along with the fabulous lake view. For diner type food go to the Harrah's side to the new Brew Brothers which replaces the old food court. On this side Sage Room remains great along with Wolf and Hell's Kitchen. The gym is nice. Steam and sauna in locker room. Pool and jacuzzi are adequate. Some nice shops on the lobby level at both Caesars Republic and Harrahs. Starbucks is on the Harrahs side only now but Cleo's provides the same sort of drinks and food, plus alcoholic drinks too. The casino has been upgraded renovated and includes a new high limit and new poker room. Good service. Caesars Republic has moved back to resort level service.

Nice 4 of a kind with the kicker!

I thought Ceasars Republic Lake Tahoe was an excellent addition to the Ceasars hotel network. The interior was nicely done and the slot machines seem new, well heck, we won lol. The hotel has restaurants such as Hells kitchen by Gordon Ramsey and Wolf by Vandepump. Overall impressions of Ceasars Republic was great.

I was at Caesars republic for the weekend. It was an amazing experience for the price. I loved my room, very spacious and luxurious. My only complaint is the fact that I got charged fully for the resort fee when the pool and gym isn't working and hotel is still undergoing renovations. I will be back for sure. I felt safe so that's the most important part for me.

The view from the 11th floor in the Romulus Tower.

Harvey's Lake Tahoe is now Caesars Republic Lake Tahoe and although renovations are still in progress the front desk, Cleo's, table game area, Wolf, Hell's Kitchen, poker room and high limit gaming all look amazing. We booked 2 rooms for a 4-night stay each. The first room type was a Romulus View 1 King, this room is spacious at 525 square feet and there was a partial lake view, the water closet has it's own door, and there is a vanity and ottoman in the bathroom. The second room type was a Remus Deluxe 1 King, this room is newly renovated at 375 square feet and feels like Vegas, however, there was no view and the bathroom was a standard hotel bathroom. I have two cons with staying here. The first is housekeeping NEVER cleaned our room in the Romulus Tower. We stayed Thursday - Monday and were informed at check-in that housekeeping would clean on the third day by request. Saturday morning at 9 a.m. I requested housekeeping in-person with a representative at the front desk, but after returning to the room at 4:30 p.m. the room hadn't been cleaned. I contacted the front desk and the representative stated that unfortunately our room wasn't on the list but he could bring me whatever I needed and add the room to the list for Saturday night or Sunday. I opted to have the room cleaned Sunday and again Sunday it was not cleaned. This time my husband spoke to a gentleman by phone I believe his name was Rob. He offered a dining credit which we declined, offered to move us to a nicer room, which we declined, then offered to refund us 2 of the 4 resort fees, which we accepted. The second con is there is no casual dining option. Maybe when the renovations are completed there will be a Sports Bar or sandwich shop but as of November 2025 there are none listed on the website. We did dine at Wolf, El Jefe's Cantina and Cleo's during our stay and I'll write separate reviews for them. I will stay here again, in hopes of a better housekeeping experience.

Caesars Republic Lake Tahoe - A Caesars Rewards Destination Reviews in Other Languages

Ask the Community - Caesars Republic Lake Tahoe - A Caesars Rewards Destination

They have renamed the towers to Romulus and Remus. What are the old name equivalents?

The Tahoe Tower became the Romulus tower, and the mountain tower became the Remus tower.

    Is there an indoor pool?

No, there is only an outdoor pool.

Is parking validated if you eat at one of the restaurants inside Harvey's?

Do the rooms have a fridge and a microwave?

Stayed at Harrah's not Harvey. Harrah's has refrigerators but no microwave.

How much is the security deposit?

    $220

What time does room service end? Sorry, I don't see it on their website. Can I get food around 2am?

I dont think they have room service. I tried to order on the tv but it redirected me to an automated text number and they just send a link of available food options nearby.

Which room is considered better? The Premium Two Queens or Luxury Two Queens?

I'm not sure, but whatever it is, make sure you're staying in the renovated rooms! The older ones, I'm told, are quite horrible!

Is heated pool usable in December?

Yes people are swimming in January

Are there stairs instead of elevators?

    No, stairwells are locked.

Does it have Netflix on TVs in the room?

No but it's a nice TV and you can bring an adapter for it. We hook ours in with HDMI.

    Is there a spa here?

There is a spa but it is closed due to Covid 19

    What does VIP services offer?

    VIP is closed.

Is there in-room free WiFi? The website says "Fee for in-room wireless Internet: USD 10.95 per night ". I really doubted it in this era. Thanks…

During my visit in the summer it was not free. It was the price you listed and from a tech standpoint the price for the speed isn't worth it. You're better off using your cellular connection if possible.

Is there a fridge and microwave in the deluxe and value rooms?

Fridge yes, microwave no; those are in the suites. They'll bring you a microwave though if you ask; tell them it's for kids food or something if they hassle you. :-)

Hi all has anyone been here in the last week if so how's the smoke in the area going stay here this coming week thank be for hand?

I’m up here right now. Smoke much less than last two weeks. Still not great...can’t quite see across lake, but at least it doesn’t hurt your eyes and breathing. Weather great. Beach in front of hotel wonderful.

Is there bar/food service at pool?

There is a small bar there in the pool area, but when we were there (in June) it never had anyone working at it.

My family has two little dogs , a tea cup chihuahua and a 25lb havanese. We are planning to stay here. can i bring them here? If yes, how much do you charge ? Thanks

I heard they charge 80 per night per pet! Absolutely ridiculous pricing!

Does harveys have a buffet tonight?

No. Buffets at Harvey's. Must cross over to Harras Pretty nice buffet, nice view… Read more

The townhomes are beautiful and have 3 levels. I see they've made some improvements- probably based on families. The stairs are steep, so with two kids running around, it can be nerve wrecking. I saw they added nice child gates to the top of their sets of stairs. In the townhomes, you have 3 levels and 2 patios: one patio on the second floor (living area with a half bath) with an egg chair and table setting. The third level is the bed space and that patio has the soaking tub and a little seating area. Their main bathroom is huge- beautiful modern shower with a huge soaking tub for two. The soaking tub takes some agility getting in and out, but is nice and deep and has jets. It takes a while to fill up, but once it does, it's really relaxing. We love how both walls next to the sliding glass doors on both levels have a see thru fireplace. Such a cute, romantic detail that's nice to have running while you're relaxing. The heated floors in the bathroom are an added perk. Oh! And you get your own garage- even though you still have to access the home from outside the garage. They are incredible accommodating. They have a list of things offered on request like kids toys, hygiene kits, ironing board, etc. They get added points for having those really expensive amazing Dyson hair dryers as their hair drying option too It's one of our favorite places to stay!

In this massive property with over 400 rooms, you'll find outdated spaces, worn furniture, dark and dingy hallways, dirty windows, hard old towels, thin bedding, lumpy pillows, and beds on the firm side. Even the plants outside have stopped being watered and left to die. Ice machines are broken on multiple floors, so you end up wandering around to other floors in the hopes of one working. The indoor pool has a bit of a Hefner grotto vibe but is constantly packed with screaming kids. It's as if someone told management just to keep the lights on because nothing else matters. Prices swing wildly: sometimes just over $100, but on busy weekends they shoot past $600. Then they tack on a $27 nightly resort fee and another $20 for self parking. Truly delusional fees for what you get. I've stayed here several times only because the rooms are comped. I would never pay to sleep here. There are plenty of wonderful hotels, and even motels, in the area that don't charge bogus resort & parking fees. The online room photos are heavily filtered and don't match reality once you check in. A few positives: the rooms are spacious at over 400 sq ft, and some have minor upgrades like newer bathrooms. There's a Starbucks near the gaming floor, a spa and a few restaurants. I haven't tried them so no opinions there. Overall, this place desperately needs a facelift and real upgrades. Until then, the resort and parking fees should be eliminated. Bally's owners should know better.

Harrah's is across the street and Caesars Republic is catty-corner, making it easy to walk around and enjoy the area. The resort is in a great central location. We walked to restaurants, shops, and even down toward the lake. If you walk straight down, you'll reach the private beach, just keep in mind there's about a $30 entrance fee. The breakfast buffet is a flat $25 per person. It wasn't really worth it for us since we're not big breakfast people. Instead, we grabbed coffee and breakfast sandwiches/burritos from Joe's Merchant in the lobby for around $10-$15. Valet is $40 a day, but parking can be tough to find, so it was worth it for us. Overall, great location, easy to get around on foot, and a place we'd stay at again.

I was given no evidence, no proof, and no opportunity to properly dispute the claim. I was absolutely not responsible for the damage, yet I was treated as if I was guilty by default. I am astonished by how unprofessional and unfair the management handled this situation. A reputable hotel should investigate properly and communicate transparently with its guests before imposing such a significant charge. I will never stay at this property again and will make sure to share my experience with friends, family, and fellow travelers so they can make an informed decision before booking. Extremely disappointing experience and a complete lack of customer service. Please avoid it for your own sanity.

So we were offered another upgraded suite at ground level...the room featured 6 guys outside the windows cutting cement, grinding stone, etc. SOooooo we asked for another room, now they put us in a regular room BUT no discounts are available, so we are paying for a king suite with a lake view, a balcony, refrigerator, etc......and staying in a shoe box room. UPDATE. We have received a line of credit on the room, which can be used for food and beverage for $150, and the promise of delivering on our original room tomorrow. Will maintain updates and review. They have delivered today on the room we had contracted for. It must be understood that the situation is out of the control of the front desk workers. We are all dealing with the remodel, incidentally the new rooms are all brand new and very nice. We will finish this post at the end of our stay.

The sheets on the bed smelled like they stayed in the washer much too long - mildew like. Despite multiple requests, they will not turn down your room. I resorted to leaving the trash outside the room in hopes they would get the hint. The front desk is understaffed and frazzled; I get the feeling they're not used to a large quantity of people (we were in town for an athletic event).

I was hoping for a nicer vibe, but this is definitely giving made in the 70s. On the bright side the staff was very nice, the beach access was a plus, views from the room we got was very pretty, and it's close to a CVS. I will probably look elsewhere next time though considering this place was pretty expensive.

There is plenty of parking around the 1 bedroom and 2 bedroom sides. Place has beach front access which is nice. Has a fire pit, hot tub, pool, bbq pit and some chairs to relax on. Customer service was attentive to our request. Place uses a physical key to enter rooms/lock rooms, not key cards. The Spa is located on 2nd floor on the far left side. To make an appointment for the spa you have to do it at front desk. They also have a Dry sauna on 2nd floor. This is opened with your room key and they have a latch to alert people if it's occupied. We stayed at the 2 bedroom on the 2nd floor. The stairs to the 2nd floor are steep and use a spiral staircase. We had a balcony which gave us good views of the beach and sunset/sunrise. There is a full kitchen with a fridge. There is no centralized AC but they have heaters. There are also fan for the upstairs room. Prob would go here again depends on party size and activities we have planned.

No room service, no daily maid service. Limited flexibility if for some reason there is a need to change rooms. I was informed that it was due in part to folks reserving the time share rooms. Valet parking can be slow if it is a busy time period. Pretty on par with many properties. People do smoke outside in the courtyard/by the gondolas and if your room is above you will get a bit smoked out. I noted that the property is right on highway 50 so there is quite a bit of through traffic; bicycle, vehicle and pedestrian. The rooms were clean and if one gets the full suite (kitchen, living and dining area) very spacious. Close to shops and restaurants all within walking distance. Overall, a nice place to stay. Just be aware that it is not (by design) a traditional hotel as I mentioned.

The biggest positive about Marriott's Timber Lodge is the location. It's close to everything,…read moreincluding Heavenly Village, restaurants, shops, and the gondola, which makes it incredibly convenient and walkable. We typically stay at Edgewood when visiting South Lake Tahoe, but decided to try something different this time. Unfortunately, the stay got off to a rough start. We arrived around noon on Friday and were told our room was ready, even though official check-in is at 4 PM. When we went up, housekeeping was still cleaning and informed us it would be another 30 minutes. Later, the manager called to apologize and explained that we had been given the wrong room number. He asked for permission to have staff move our belongings to the correct room. While the apology was appreciated, it wasn't a great first impression and set the tone for the rest of the stay. There is no room service, despite having an onsite restaurant (Fire + Ice), which was disappointing after a long travel day. I also asked the front desk if they had honey so I could make green tea in our room and was told they didn't. For a Marriott property, that felt surprising and oddly basic. Housekeeping is not provided daily. There was no one to make the bed or tidy up during our stay. While we were told we could call if we needed anything, it still felt like a noticeable downgrade in service for a hotel at this price point. We stayed from Friday to Sunday, and the only complimentary item offered was a single homemade cookie, handed out individually. On Saturday, hot chocolate was available, but it was $5 per cup. Charging for hot water, cocoa powder, and a few marshmallows felt nickel-and-dimey, especially at a resort-style hotel. The biggest frustration, however, was the constant timeshare solicitation. Immediately after checking in, we were approached at the concierge desk and pitched a "promotion." We declined. Later that same day, we were approached again and declined once more. Then on Saturday evening at 7 PM, my personal cell phone rang with caller ID showing Marriott. It was the same person calling yet again to pitch the timeshare. While a gift card was offered, not everyone is interested in $200. Our vacation time is more valuable than sitting through a 90-minute sales presentation. After declining multiple times, the continued follow-up felt unprofessional. A clear "no" should be noted and respected. The room itself was nice. We stayed in a one-bedroom villa with a full kitchen, washer and dryer, living area, and a separate bedroom and bathroom. The layout was functional for families, with two TVs and a sofa bed in the living room. However, the sofa bed was extremely uncomfortable and made sleeping difficult, especially after long days out. There was a simple welcome note in the room, but no other welcome amenity. We weren't expecting much, just a small thoughtful touch. The property does offer an outdoor heated pool and jacuzzi, open from 8 AM to 10 PM, which is a nice amenity for families and for unwinding after a day out. Checkout is at 10 AM, which feels early. Many comparable hotels offer at least an 11 AM checkout. In our case, by Sunday morning we were so eager to leave due to the overall experience that we checked out at 8:00 AM. We genuinely couldn't wait to go. Overall, while the location and room layout are strong, the lack of basic hospitality, repeated sales pressure, limited housekeeping, and early missteps made this stay feel more transactional than relaxing. For the price and the Marriott name, I expected a far more polished experience. We would not choose to stay here again.
