The recently renovated hotel and casino are really nice. Love the new lighting decor art and new machines. The hotel is nice as always and has great views. My biggest complaint (besides never winning here) are the food options. We love Hell's Kitchen and Wolf, but there are few casual options. El jefe is hardly ever open and way overpriced. The new cafe by check in is nice for breakfast or snacks.

Esthetically the updated hotel rooms are nice. However, if you do a deeper inspection; you'll start to notice a lot of issues. The shower area is narrow; if you're a bigger built, this may be inconvenient for you due to the lack of space and room inside the stand up shower. The soap dispensers in the shower is broken. The metal thing that holds the toilet roll keeps on breaking and falling to the bathroom floor. The room phone was unhooked and broken upon arrival. Looks like they rushed with the renovations and did the bare minimum with installations.

What an amazing Hotel & Casino. We went for the July 4th party and Grand opening celebration. And what a Grand place this is lovely rooms with great views of Tahoe. Friendly helpful front desk and concierge. The casino floor was clean bright and great machines. Service on the casino floor was some of the best we have received anywhere. I can't really comment on the restaurants as those on site not open during the day. We had to go off property. There was a grab and go in the lobby for coffee. I can not wait to go back again.

Caesars took over the old Harvey's years ago, and recently changed the name. They've been doing a complete remodel of the property, with just a few small things left. The remodel is beautiful. Shopping Lots of restaurants, ranging from high-end to food counters,(they have a Carvel! I haven't seen a Carvel ice cream place outside of New York. ) lots of gaming, lots of bars, and they have a large arcade area for the kids. It's all very nice. Harrah's is right across the street, and you can walk between the properties without ever stepping outside. I was checked in by PJ, so friendly, conversational, and helpful. She was awesome. I got an upgrade to a Lakeview room. It was more of a partial Lake view, but still it was nice. Even at full price, it would be worth it.... The room was very large, and clean. there was a full walk-in shower, the TV had a great picture with a lot of channels, and of course movies for rent, plenty of places to charge my gear, and the bed was very comfortable. I slept very well. There is a fridge, but no microwave. My biggest problem, is the nickel and diming. Unless you have "status", there's that ubiquitous resort fee. If you book with the Caesar's app/webpage, it is built into the price, other than taxes. Parking... if you are military or a veteran, you can get a military players card, and that will waive your parking fee. The room's mini bar. Six bucks for a 12 ounce Pepsi? 10 bucks for a small bag of pretzels or a snack size can of Pringles? And if you want something with alcohol, , FUHGEDDABOUDIT!!! Grab some snacks or whatever you want before you get here, and just use the fridge. There's even a dollar tree just a few minutes away. Finally, the Wi-Fi. Basic Wi-Fi, up to 10 MBPS is free, up to four devices. If you want enhanced Wi-Fi, it's eight bucks a day, per... Device.... I just stayed with the basic Wi-Fi. The speed was enough to stream video. Other than the nickel and diming, it was a fantastic stay. . If I could get a good rate, I would definitely stay here again. Thanks!

BAIT AND SWITCH I had 2 comp nights showing on my app. Headed 3 hours up the hill after a nice hike at Horsetail Falls. Figured the app was just having a moment and would just book in person (after all I had COMP NIGHTS). After numerous phone calls I was given other "offers" ranging from $119 a night to $29 a night, NOT INCLUDING RESORT FEES, ETC. What a waste of time!! Do better Caesars! You've lost a long standing customer.

Unable to connect to the WiFi for the entire stay with no help from the hotel

Writing this review while I'm still staying at the hotel because the experience has been so disappointing. From the moment we checked in, things went wrong. After unpacking and settling into our room, we discovered that the shower did not work at all. I tried calling the front desk, but no one answered. I had to go downstairs in person, and they eventually moved us to the room next door. Unfortunately, that meant packing up and moving all of our belongings after we had already settled in. The second room had its own issues. There was no body wash or conditioner in the shower, and the bathroom sink would not drain properly. Once again, I had to go downstairs to report the problems. Despite the inconvenience, no compensation or room upgrade was initially offered. After speaking with the front desk manager, Danny, he finally agreed to provide a $100 hotel credit. Unfortunately, the problems continued. On our second day, the Wi-Fi stopped working completely. We were unable to log in because the system said we were not registered guests. I texted the concierge and was simply given a tech support number to call. After spending 30 minutes on the phone, the issue still was not resolved. I also requested housekeeping and received a text confirmation that the request was received, but no one ever came. What makes this even more frustrating is that guests are charged resort fees, yet many of the amenities are unavailable. The Wi-Fi does not work, and the pool is closed due to construction. Paying resort fees while being unable to use basic services and amenities feels unreasonable. The staff has been polite, but the overall experience has been filled with maintenance issues, poor follow-through, and a lack of proactive customer service. I expected much better from Caesars Republic and would not choose to stay here again.

My room's headboard was very dusty

The room was kinda in need of more cleaning, dusty , mold in the shower . Parking was confusing, elevator was not working so had to walk more. Pool was not open because of construction, what are the additional fees for. Resort fees and parking is additional

Recently upgraded and renamed, the "new" Caesars Republic is the nicest resort in South Lake Tahoe now. We stayed in a balcony suite and enjoyed Caesars Republic's efforts to bring back the luster of the old Harvey's along with the fabulous lake view. For diner type food go to the Harrah's side to the new Brew Brothers which replaces the old food court. On this side Sage Room remains great along with Wolf and Hell's Kitchen. The gym is nice. Steam and sauna in locker room. Pool and jacuzzi are adequate. Some nice shops on the lobby level at both Caesars Republic and Harrahs. Starbucks is on the Harrahs side only now but Cleo's provides the same sort of drinks and food, plus alcoholic drinks too. The casino has been upgraded renovated and includes a new high limit and new poker room. Good service. Caesars Republic has moved back to resort level service.

    Used soap bar

We walked into our room after a 9 hour drive to a used room....the sheets were all messed up and the pillows were on the floor. In the bathroom there was toothpaste splatter on the mirror and a used soap bar! I couldn't ever recommend this place to anyone ever.

Nice 4 of a kind with the kicker!

Ask the Community - Caesars Republic Lake Tahoe - A Caesars Rewards Destination

They have renamed the towers to Romulus and Remus. What are the old name equivalents?

The Tahoe Tower became the Romulus tower, and the mountain tower became the Remus tower.

    Is there an indoor pool?

No, there is only an outdoor pool.

Is parking validated if you eat at one of the restaurants inside Harvey's?

Do the rooms have a fridge and a microwave?

Stayed at Harrah's not Harvey. Harrah's has refrigerators but no microwave.

How much is the security deposit?

    $220

What time does room service end? Sorry, I don't see it on their website. Can I get food around 2am?

I dont think they have room service. I tried to order on the tv but it redirected me to an automated text number and they just send a link of available food options nearby.

Which room is considered better? The Premium Two Queens or Luxury Two Queens?

I'm not sure, but whatever it is, make sure you're staying in the renovated rooms! The older ones, I'm told, are quite horrible!

Is heated pool usable in December?

Yes people are swimming in January

Are there stairs instead of elevators?

    No, stairwells are locked.

Does it have Netflix on TVs in the room?

No but it's a nice TV and you can bring an adapter for it. We hook ours in with HDMI.

    Is there a spa here?

There is a spa but it is closed due to Covid 19

    What does VIP services offer?

    VIP is closed.

Is there in-room free WiFi? The website says "Fee for in-room wireless Internet: USD 10.95 per night ". I really doubted it in this era. Thanks…

During my visit in the summer it was not free. It was the price you listed and from a tech standpoint the price for the speed isn't worth it. You're better off using your cellular connection if possible.

Is there a fridge and microwave in the deluxe and value rooms?

Fridge yes, microwave no; those are in the suites. They'll bring you a microwave though if you ask; tell them it's for kids food or something if they hassle you. :-)

Hi all has anyone been here in the last week if so how's the smoke in the area going stay here this coming week thank be for hand?

I’m up here right now. Smoke much less than last two weeks. Still not great...can’t quite see across lake, but at least it doesn’t hurt your eyes and breathing. Weather great. Beach in front of hotel wonderful.

Is there bar/food service at pool?

There is a small bar there in the pool area, but when we were there (in June) it never had anyone working at it.

My family has two little dogs , a tea cup chihuahua and a 25lb havanese. We are planning to stay here. can i bring them here? If yes, how much do you charge ? Thanks

I heard they charge 80 per night per pet! Absolutely ridiculous pricing!

Does harveys have a buffet tonight?

No. Buffets at Harvey's. Must cross over to Harras Pretty nice buffet, nice view…

I had to stop the flooding myself, getting soaked in dirty water contaminated with urine and feces. Reaching anyone for help was nearly impossible--the front desk and operator didn't answer, and housekeeping took 10 minutes to pick up. After engineering temporarily repaired the toilet that was on its way out, housekeeping barely cleaned the bathroom. They wiped up the visible mess with towels but never mopped or disinfected the area, despite us traveling with children and a baby. I went down to speak with the front desk manager, Kayla Smith at 5:00 a.m. after losing an entire night's sleep, the only compensation she offered was some resort credit. I asked for a late checkout so we could at least get some rest, but I was told the hotel was "fully booked" and couldn't accommodate the request. On a Monday, that explanation was difficult to believe and felt like an excuse rather than a genuine attempt to help. Beyond the great location, the property feels old, poorly maintained, and unclean. Between the lack of responsiveness, inadequate cleanup, and poor customer service, I can't recommend staying at Harrah's Lake Tahoe. There are better options nearby.

We arrived about 7:30 PM and there was no line to get in here. The one thing I could tell you about the showroom is there will be parking issues. The Valet parking is very expensive. They charge by an hour, and if you are not a hotel guest, the price just goes up from there. As you were walking in, there is a scannable poster that lets you know all of the specific parking details. Bottom line is, go to the main cashier and get a Bally's player card. You will get a discount for parking though we don't know how much yet. There's also a notification if you spend $20, to get four hours free parking and $20 in the showroom on cocktail is pretty easy. Fairly comfortable though a bit weird with strangers. It's not a giant showroom like you see it in Las Vegas, so I emptied out pretty quick. What we ordered: Mai Tai Fuzzy navel Like mostshowrooms, there was not much alcohol in the cocktail. On the side note, the show was really good. Howie Mandel was awesome.

General Admission shows the tables are removed in ABC sections with tables remaining in DEF first come first serve. There are a few booths in ABC sections that are permanent also first come first serve or can be VIP again depending upon artist/concert. Hazard ALERT - some people jump over into better sections via said booths. We prefer section B or C but with the tiered showroom all areas have GREAT view of the stage. Check-in process is a bit antiquated considering other venues we have attended either take paper tickets, scan them or use mobile ticketing but here they have security check ID, then you walk over to a table where they look up your name on a printed list, then give a wristband without looking at your ticket - WTH and WAY TOOOO SLOW!! Once inside there is no signage or ushers plus limited lighting to find your section or bar, if you get inside after the show has started for any reason - yikes!! Sections are large for GA we have always had enough room to enjoy the show, dance, mosh, rave or if you get there early enough grab a booth to watch. A couple of things to note: bathrooms are outside of venue to right by East doors towards parking lot or you can go in casino until you find another one. Prior to show be sure to grab a drink from inside casino; because there is only one bar inside venue that will have a longggg line with an entertainment upcharge aka pricey but what you would expect. Bar is to right by Section C & D; occasionally they have a standup bar setup prior to the event outside of the showroom by the artist swag and Starbucks. With the above being said the shows we attended ROCKED the house, sound was PERFECT to include one of the performers came out in all the sections up close and personal singing with the audience - NOW that's what I call a performance that I still rave about! The vibe was AMAZING and I would go back again to see an artist that is on my list regardless of the little things I noted above. We like smaller venues, LOVE live music and any chance we get, you will find us out enjoying another memorable, music filled evening. #buythedamnconcerttickets #musicsoothesthesoul #musicislife

Came out rare like i ordered. It's bare so definitely ask for some A1. The salad was nice and crisp. The soup was on the sweeter side for me, but we just doused it with pepper. The hubby seemed to enjoy his pasta. They also give you complimentary bread and butter. I liked my manhattan. Nicely balanced. The scotch was fairly priced. I believe it was a 12 year? There are signs for Coors Light in the front area, so I decided to order one. Yep, I'm very prone to suggestion. It was a fine dinner. Nothing super good or bad to say about it. Service was nice so I'll bump it up to a 4. REVIEW #3918

This was our 4th stay at Desolation hotel. I've written a review already but since then, we've…read morestayed in their townhomes with and without our kids. The townhomes are beautiful and have 3 levels. I see they've made some improvements- probably based on families. The stairs are steep, so with two kids running around, it can be nerve wrecking. I saw they added nice child gates to the top of their sets of stairs. In the townhomes, you have 3 levels and 2 patios: one patio on the second floor (living area with a half bath) with an egg chair and table setting. The third level is the bed space and that patio has the soaking tub and a little seating area. Their main bathroom is huge- beautiful modern shower with a huge soaking tub for two. The soaking tub takes some agility getting in and out, but is nice and deep and has jets. It takes a while to fill up, but once it does, it's really relaxing. We love how both walls next to the sliding glass doors on both levels have a see thru fireplace. Such a cute, romantic detail that's nice to have running while you're relaxing. The heated floors in the bathroom are an added perk. Oh! And you get your own garage- even though you still have to access the home from outside the garage. They are incredible accommodating. They have a list of things offered on request like kids toys, hygiene kits, ironing board, etc. They get added points for having those really expensive amazing Dyson hair dryers as their hair drying option too It's one of our favorite places to stay!

I can't s for the hotel, but avoid the restaurant. Crowded, poor service, meh food, overpriced.read more
