Surprisingly affordable! My husband and I came the week of July 4th (stayed 6/29-6/3) and expected it to be super expensive, but for 4 nights, it was less than $500 (including taxes and fees). The room is very spacious and we have a great view of the lake. I love that the bathroom has 2 vanities since a girl needs space to do her makeup And the room has a fridge which is great too, but unfortunately no microwave. The gym is super nice too and renovated. Has great upper body equipment although lower body equipment is pretty limited. We also won some money at the slots LOL!!! Stay away. After being a loyal customer for more than 20 years, I was shocked and deeply disappointed by the way I was treated. The bartender served and checked on everyone around me but repeatedly ignored me, would not take my drink order, and barely acknowledged me. I was left feeling unwelcome and singled out, as though I did not fit the type of customer they wanted to serve. No longtime customer--or any customer--should be treated this way. It's a great hotel, but the front desk service is not good I rarely leave negative reviews, but this stay is very unhappy, both entirely avoidable. Issue #1 - Wrong room type I called ahead to confirm 2 two queen-bed rooms and repeated that at check‑in. The front desk agent nodded and handed us keys. We walked to our rooms - only to find one king bed and one double room. Back to the lobby, a different agent casually said, "double rooms are sold out - we can add a rollaway bed." If you knew the room type at check‑in, why didn't you tell me then, why you confirmed it's 2 double rooms? Why make us haul our luggage back and forth? A 5‑second glance at your screen would have saved us 20 minutes of frustration. Issue #2 - Parking voucher fiasco + rude attitude At check‑in, we were asked how many cars we had. We said two. Nobody mentioned that we needed to activate the parking pass with our room key. If you need to say, part in me since it write on the parking ticket, but I overlooked after long time driving. Next day, we found we can active the parking pass and pay less. Went front desk to find the detail. When I went to ask, the staff member rolled his eyes, sighed, and said "the agent told you at check‑in." At least the one check us in did not. When I asked for a refund on the overcharge, he didn't offer any solution until I explicitly suggested my friend's prior experience. Only then did he grudgingly walk me through the process - no "sorry for the confusion," no proactive help. He looked busy, sure. But I stood there for less than 5 minutes - I wasn't demanding a free upgrade or shouting. I simply asked for clarity. Basic courtesy costs nothing. Bottom line - This hotel has a serious training problem. They'll confirm one thing, deliver another, then blame you for their own mistakes. It is the worst customer service. read more

The recently renovated hotel and casino are really nice. Love the new lighting decor art and new machines. The hotel is nice as always and has great views. My biggest complaint (besides never winning here) are the food options. We love Hell's Kitchen and Wolf, but there are few casual options. El jefe is hardly ever open and way overpriced. Esthetically the updated hotel rooms are nice. However, if you do a deeper inspection; you'll start to notice a lot of issues. The shower area is narrow; if you're a bigger built, this may be inconvenient for you due to the lack of space and room inside the stand up shower. The soap dispensers in the shower is broken. The metal thing that holds the toilet roll keeps on breaking and falling to the bathroom floor. The room phone was unhooked and broken upon arrival. Had an overall great experience spending a night at Caesars! The location is excellent with heavenly village being right across the street. There is also a cute coffee shop called Noel's that is a 3 minute walk from the hotel. The room was spacious and had an upscale vibe to the decor. The bed was comfortable. What an amazing Hotel & Casino. We went for the July 4th party and Grand opening celebration. And what a Grand place this is lovely rooms with great views of Tahoe. Friendly helpful front desk and concierge. The casino floor was clean bright and great machines. Service on the casino floor was some of the best we have received anywhere. I can't really comment on the restaurants as those on site not open during the day. We had to go off property. There was a grab and go in the lobby for coffee. Caesars Republic (the old Harvey's) is a great place to stay. It has had a massive renovation over the past year and is in top shape (the hotel, if you to know about the casino you need to look elsewhere). We stayed during the Am Cen Championship so it was very busy but they handled the crowd w ease. Rooms are big, beds was great, and the bathroom huge. They are finally offering daily room service and it was well done. Valet is super easy (and friendly) and the bell staff is awesome! Hard to find anything wrong w this property! read more

Caesars took over the old Harvey's years ago, and recently changed the name. They've been doing a complete remodel of the property, with just a few small things left. The remodel is beautiful. Shopping Lots of restaurants, ranging from high-end to food counters,(they have a Carvel! I haven't seen a Carvel ice cream place outside of New York. ) lots of gaming, lots of bars, and they have a large arcade area for the kids. It's all very nice. Harrah's is right across the street, and you can walk between the properties without ever stepping outside. I was checked in by PJ, so friendly, conversational, and helpful. She was awesome. I got an upgrade to a Lakeview room. It was more of a partial Lake view, but still it was nice. Even at full price, it would be worth it.... The room was very large, and clean. there was a full walk-in shower, the TV had a great picture with a lot of channels, and of course movies for rent, plenty of places to charge my gear, and the bed was very comfortable. I slept very well. There is a fridge, but no microwave. My biggest problem, is the nickel and diming. Unless you have "status", there's that ubiquitous resort fee. If you book with the Caesar's app/webpage, it is built into the price, other than taxes. Parking... if you are military or a veteran, you can get a military players card, and that will waive your parking fee. The room's mini bar. Six bucks for a 12 ounce Pepsi? 10 bucks for a small bag of pretzels or a snack size can of Pringles? And if you want something with alcohol, , FUHGEDDABOUDIT!!! Grab some snacks or whatever you want before you get here, and just use the fridge. There's even a dollar tree just a few minutes away. Finally, the Wi-Fi. Basic Wi-Fi, up to 10 MBPS is free, up to four devices. If you want enhanced Wi-Fi, it's eight bucks a day, per... Device.... I just stayed with the basic Wi-Fi. The speed was enough to stream video. Other than the nickel and diming, it was a fantastic stay. . If I could get a good rate, I would definitely stay here again. Thanks! read more

Our stay was for 5 nights in August The 1st night was the noise of the lounge music & no sleep Moved us the next day to another room. Upon retiring for the night, several hairs were found in the bed sheets. Had to wait til almost 1am to have housekeeping change bed sheets. The following morning, we requested housekeeping. That evening upon retiring our room was not made up. Again, had to call housekeeping for towels which took til midnight to receive TV stations continuously went out with no network connection The shower nozzle was loose when pulling on the water. Shower door did not close. The last night the sink did not drain (no stopper pull) For a hotel that was supposed to be refurbished, they did a very cheap job. BAIT AND SWITCH I had 2 comp nights showing on my app. Headed 3 hours up the hill after a nice hike at Horsetail Falls. Figured the app was just having a moment and would just book in person (after all I had COMP NIGHTS). After numerous phone calls I was given other "offers" ranging from $119 a night to $29 a night, NOT INCLUDING RESORT FEES, ETC. What a waste of time!! Do better Caesars! Writing this review while I'm still staying at the hotel because the experience has been so disappointing. From the moment we checked in, things went wrong. After unpacking and settling into our room, we discovered that the shower did not work at all. I tried calling the front desk, but no one answered. I had to go downstairs in person, and they eventually moved us to the room next door. Unfortunately, that meant packing up and moving all of our belongings after we had already settled in. The second room had its own issues. There was no body wash or conditioner in the shower, and the bathroom sink would not drain properly. Once again, I had to go downstairs to report the problems. Despite the inconvenience, no compensation or room upgrade was initially offered. After speaking with the front desk manager, Danny, he finally agreed to provide a $100 hotel credit. Unfortunately, the problems continued. On our second day, the Wi-Fi stopped working completely. We were unable to log in because the system said we were not registered guests. I texted the concierge and was simply given a tech support number to call. After spending 30 minutes on the phone, the issue still was not resolved. I also requested housekeeping and received a text confirmation that the request was received, but no one ever came. What makes this even more frustrating is that guests are charged resort fees, yet many of the amenities are unavailable. The Wi-Fi does not work, and the pool is closed due to construction. Paying resort fees while being unable to use basic services and amenities feels unreasonable. The staff has been polite, but the overall experience has been filled with maintenance issues, poor follow-through, and a lack of proactive customer service. I expected much better from Caesars Republic and would not choose to stay here again. read more

So we only came here this time to check out the casino area. It was brighter than in the past under Harvey's. New lobby layout and escalator location up to casino. The garage is still the same and with issues on the gates but they eventually worked out fine. All the staff seemed very friendly and helpful. While we didn't eat here, we loved seeing the multiple bar areas available, the lounge Hells Kitchen, and Wolf. We plan to go back to stay for a couple nights and check out the food. read more

We came here for the NFL Season Opener. Thus we were looking for the sports book and a good place to watch the game. The sports book was busy when we arrived. There was a long line to place cash bets at the cage. There were also several Kiosks, and the lines weren't as long. We were able to snag a table, people had left there empty coffee cups on it, but we didn't care, it was somewhere to sit. They have many screens in the sports book with all different sports going on and no sound. There is a connecting room called the video room next door. There were plenty of seats in there and they have 4 large screens all playing football and the sound was on the main screen. My husband went to check out that room and we moved over there. Thankfully the game that my husband wanted to see was the one that had the sound playing. They room had 3 levels all with booths and chairs and tables. All of the booths were taken so we opted for a set of chairs and the counter in front of us. The second row had chairs with cocktail tables between each set of chairs. The atmosphere was what he was looking for. Excitement, but not so much nervous energy like the other Casino we were at. The cocktail waitress made her way around the room slowly, they only had one person manning the room so it was a slow process. We eventually got our drinks. I got water and he got a club soda, being 10am in the morning. The only thing this casino lacks is food service. They don't have a cafe. They have a steakhouse, but it's only open for dinner. They have a small kiosk like Starbucks that offers coffee drinks and premade sandwiches an burritos. My husband had there breakfast sandwich which he though was really good. They take it out of their fridge and heat it up just like Starbucks does. Lunch on the other hand wasn't really to be had in the Casino. They had a Ceaser wrap that didn't look so good and knowing it isn't fresh was a turn off. We ended up going off site for lunch and brining it back, which was what the people in front of us did too. South of North Brewing is across the street out their back door and has lots of great lunch offerings. They don't have the big screen and sound like Ceasers does so they aren't the right option for watching the game and they don't have cocktail service, but they have the food we were looking for. I'm thankful that we were able to find something to eat close by or we would have had to lose our spots for watching the game in search of food. We stayed in the video room for the 2 games, six hours and enjoyed our time there. I highly recommend the video room for watching your game and crossing your fingers that your game is the one that they amplify the sound for. read more

The service at this hotel is awful, We asked for a certain type of room and were told they were sold out. As I'm writing this there is music that's so loud it woke me up at midnight on the 10th floor. The base is so loud. It is vibrating through the room. We asked for more toilet paper and towels and were completely ignored even when we were told they'd bring some. We had to track down housekeeping on the floor to ask the lady for some. Service is an afterthought here and we've stayed at a lot of hotels. We are here with our kids as well and this will be the last time we'll come and stay here. Stay away if lack of service and no sleep is something you don't want. Only stay here if the room is comped otherwise save your money and stay elsewhere. Lake Tahoe is too beautiful to be stuck in this hotel looking at a parking lot. ** the best part of this hotel is their valet. Recently upgraded and renamed, the "new" Caesars Republic is the nicest resort in South Lake Tahoe now. We stayed in a balcony suite and enjoyed Caesars Republic's efforts to bring back the luster of the old Harvey's along with the fabulous lake view. For diner type food go to the Harrah's side to the new Brew Brothers which replaces the old food court. On this side Sage Room remains great along with Wolf and Hell's Kitchen. The gym is nice. Steam and sauna in locker room. Pool and jacuzzi are adequate. Some nice shops on the lobby level at both Caesars Republic and Harrahs. Starbucks is on the Harrahs side only now but Cleo's provides the same sort of drinks and food, plus alcoholic drinks too. The casino has been upgraded renovated and includes a new high limit and new poker room. Good service. Caesars Republic has moved back to resort level service. read more

We walked into our room after a 9 hour drive to a used room....the sheets were all messed up and the pillows were on the floor. In the bathroom there was toothpaste splatter on the mirror and a used soap bar! I couldn't ever recommend this place to anyone ever. read more

Very nice hotel and casino. They are still doing some renovations so be aware it might be noisy during the day. We got the Romulus Premium Two Queen room. The room was clean and updated. There was a broken hinge on the fridge cabinet and the toilet handle was loose but other than that, everything else was fine. I'm assuming housekeeping reports broken items but I'm not sure. They should have an option at checkout or on their app during your stay to report stuff like that so they can fix it. Front desk was kind and helpful when our bill wasn't right at checkout. My wife and I were there for 2 nights. She needs a wheelchair. The handicapped parking is on the 3rd floor. There are no automatic doors to get to the elevator so we had to hold them open to get through. Same with the doors to the lobby. The ones by the escalators by the lobby were automatic but were not working as was the elevator to get to the casino. I had to push her very far to get to an elevator that went to the casino. The doors to the rooms slam shut quickly. there is a lot of construction going on and dust and noise. We paid $662.23 for 2 nights. That included $20 a day for parking and $29.95 a day for a resort fee even though the pool and spa were closed. Horrible! read more

We visited Caesar's Republic in Tahoe for a concert tonight. I didnt realize it was at the same time as the celebrity golf tournament, or I would have never bought tickets. Rascal Flatts was awesome for the time they were on the stage. Concert was supposed to start at 8:00 and didn't start till almost 845. Then, I'm sure due to the KARENS that live in Tahoe, the concert promptly ended at 10pm. Disappointing for us to pay the amount we did and not get a full concert. They didn't even have a good DJ playing before the concert started. Not only that, but to our surprise when we arrived, we found out that we had to pay $40 to park our car in the garage, which they told us was full and told us we should just use valet because it is the same price. Then we were told to hold onto our $40 ticket cause if we lose it, it will cost us $55 to exit the garage. But when we left the venue the gates were open and we didnt even need to insert our ticket. Wow, you definitely don't want locals to visit do you We will never be back to this casino or venue i don't care what concert you are having. We usually put some money in the machine and eat something when we go out, but we won't give you anymore business. Money Hungry is how I describe this business. read more

My family stayed here overnight while skiing in Heavenly. Good experience overall. We decided to go with valet parking and so glad we did reading all the horror stories regarding e-chargers. There are limited options in the self parking garage and I bet they will be occupied even if you are lucky enough to physically locate them. We used fast charging station with Electrify America. Short ride from the hotel and no wait. In terms of the room itself, good quality accommodation. Room was very clean, with modern furniture and quite comfortable bed. Big shout out to valet personnel and bell desk. These guys are super accommodating. Great customer service! Overall, good experience if you plan your electric car charging ahead. read more

Recent visit to Harveys during an enormous $160 million renovation. It felt like being in a construction zone not a resort. Maybe book your room at Harrahs for all of May until the summer - where there will be a break in construction that will continue after peak season. Harveys was always the budget friendly kid brother of Harrahs. Cheap eats, older rooms - more affordable - and maybe most importantly familiar and comfortable. I can see it turn into upscale Vanderpump - cold tiles - move my favorite slot machines... I'm not sure I like it. I think the worst part is the new flooring utilized. Its half shiny and half matte finished - and it alternates. The shiny tiles are extremely slippery and the matte tiles have excellent traction. I'm not asking anybody to tear up what's already down - but please NO MORE of the slippery tiles. I think its hazardous for all the seniors and seriously drunk people who wander through this place. Think of the summer concert goers who stumble back to their rooms after a concert. It would be safer to have all polished or all matte tiles. I treated the shiny tiles as banana peels and tried to avoid them and so I was ok. These tile floors are an example of putting form as a priority over function. Leave these crazy tiles by Ms Vanderpumps restaurant - they are already there - but the rest - don't feel the need to match a bad idea everywhere else. Another suggestion is to notify people while booking of the construction. It feels misleading to get people to book and step in the door and then get surprised by all that. Another suggestion is to maybe recruit some of the construction workers to work at Harrahs. They are so friendly and helpful in navigating the maze that is currently Harveys. Of all the people I encountered the construction workers were intuitive and helped me find the Harrahs tunnel or the parking garage or the hotel elevator even before I could ask. If guests stay in something that feels more like a construction zone rather than a resort I might consider reducing the resort fees just a little as acknowledgement and to show some good will. read more

Let's start with the positive. We did not get newly renovated room BUT that is ok. The room is clean and very specious. I am a bit of a bathroom snob but I would give this a 9 out of 10. There is a tiny bit of mold in the shower corner and the shower door is a bit wobbly. The check in was great and our agent was very sweet. I had to call housekeeping for some more body wash and they were very accommodating. So now for the not so positive..... my room is SO HOT!!!!! I have the AC as low as it can go. We are on our 3rd day here and I haven't slept for the past 2 nights. I called up engineering while my husband was golfing. He told me the thermostat isn't working correctly but he said his device says the AC is blowing at 63. I questioned that and he was very confident that I was mistaken. Ok, I guess..... my husband walked in and the first thing he said is, why is it still so hot in here?????? Ugh I know, and at this point I just want to go back to SoCal. I kept the black out shades closed all day hoping that would help but clearly that did not. If you can get a room with AC, I think you will enjoy your stay here. read more

I was at Caesars republic for the weekend. It was an amazing experience for the price. I loved my room, very spacious and luxurious. My only complaint is the fact that I got charged fully for the resort fee when the pool and gym isn't working and hotel is still undergoing renovations. I will be back for sure. Harvey's Lake Tahoe is now Caesars Republic Lake Tahoe and although renovations are still in progress the front desk, Cleo's, table game area, Wolf, Hell's Kitchen, poker room and high limit gaming all look amazing. We booked 2 rooms for a 4-night stay each. The first room type was a Romulus View 1 King, this room is spacious at 525 square feet and there was a partial lake view, the water closet has it's own door, and there is a vanity and ottoman in the bathroom. The second room type was a Remus Deluxe 1 King, this room is newly renovated at 375 square feet and feels like Vegas, however, there was no view and the bathroom was a standard hotel bathroom. I have two cons with staying here. The first is housekeeping NEVER cleaned our room in the Romulus Tower. We stayed Thursday - Monday and were informed at check-in that housekeeping would clean on the third day by request. Saturday morning at 9 a.m. I requested housekeeping in-person with a representative at the front desk, but after returning to the room at 4:30 p.m. the room hadn't been cleaned. I contacted the front desk and the representative stated that unfortunately our room wasn't on the list but he could bring me whatever I needed and add the room to the list for Saturday night or Sunday. I opted to have the room cleaned Sunday and again Sunday it was not cleaned. This time my husband spoke to a gentleman by phone I believe his name was Rob. He offered a dining credit which we declined, offered to move us to a nicer room, which we declined, then offered to refund us 2 of the 4 resort fees, which we accepted. The second con is there is no casual dining option. Maybe when the renovations are completed there will be a Sports Bar or sandwich shop but as of November 2025 there are none listed on the website. We did dine at Wolf, El Jefe's Cantina and Cleo's during our stay and I'll write separate reviews for them. I will stay here again, in hopes of a better housekeeping experience. read more

Going to check out Cleo's for breakfast. Appears to be a nice place to stay on the California border. Walk outside and cross the street and you're in California. Haven't had a chance to walk about this time around but there is lots of shops all around. And of course, you're at the lake, which you can see from your room (or at least the room we're in this visit). If it wasn't so overcast today, I'd have spent more time outdoor than making contributions to the NV state tax fund. LOL. For those of you who don't understand, there are no state taxes in NV because they are covered by the Casinos. read more

I've been going to Harveys in South Lake Tahoe for years. It's a fun place to relax after a long day of skiing. I usually stop at the The Players Bar because it's smoke free and you can get free beers if you are gambling. You need to have at least $20.00 in the machine though. They have table top games like blackjack, poker, and keno. The dueling pianos are a lot of fun on the weekends. The musicians know a lot of classic pop and rock tunes. They know how to keep the crowd energized and even throw out a few good jokes now and then. Another great spot is Joe's Bar. They have sports all over the place on their big screen TVs and some good pizza too! I usually get the beer and shot special which is only $7.50. There are other options, but I usually get a Mountain Lager and a shot of JaMo. There's also some great restaurant's like Hell's Kitchen in the casino, comedy shows, health club, pool, an arcade for the kids, and some nice hotel rooms. I'm in shock at the bad reviews. We have stayed at Caesar's (formally Harvey's) 3 times in the past year and have been incredibly impressed each time. Our room is generally comped because my husband has a players card. We pay a resort fee but it's only like $30 a day. The valet is free when you have a rewards card. The bellmen will take your luggage to your room. We have always had quick and fast valet and bellman services. Check in is easy and quick. The rooms are SO nice. I compare them now to other hotels I stay at. The bathrooms are huge and the lake view is gorgeous. We have NEVER had a problem with the room being dirty. Location is perfect - you can literally walk to anything. I saw complaints about the smoke smell but hello you're in a casino what do you expect?? I also saw complaints about the restaurant pricing but there are so many cheaper places in walking distance so it's not really an issue. My ONLY complaint with Caesars is that I left my $900 retainers in my room last time I was there and I called 6 different times and they could never properly connect me to the lost and found :( read more

Amazing location close to all the shops and eatery. . Favorite restaurant here is the vanderpump wolf. The dinner and drinks here is very good quality and attention to detail on the food presentation. The vibes inside is modern and perfect for special occasions. . The service of check in with the bell desk is quick. The vip checking in for the room was quick and easy. . Rooms here is nice and spacious with 2 queen beds. Extremely disappointed with our stay. This is a casino however the craps table is only opened on weekends!?!? We have comp offers yet the pet stay was not included so we ended up paying full price for Sunday night. Many issues including a broken phone so I could not contact housekeeping or guest services and a remote with missing backing, dirty room with leftover food in the fridge, coffee stained counters, dusty and dead bugs, also only one robe when we had requested a 2 person room. I should have read reviews prior visiting. I won't be recommending this hotel. read more

Our stay at Caesars Republic was extremely disappointing. From the moment we arrived, the experience was poor. The staff at check-in were rude and unwelcoming, which set the tone right away. The hotel was under construction, and to make matters worse, workers were actively sanding sheetrock as we walked in--dust got all over us and our luggage. This is completely unacceptable for a hotel operating at full capacity. On top of that, there was extremely loud music playing until around 1 AM. It was so loud it felt like we were right next to a speaker, and we were unable to get any rest. Overall, this was a terrible experience, and I would not stay here again or recommend it to anyone. read more
