The hardest part was getting here. The next hardest is leaving... at least on a good day. Street tacos. Al pastor, campesino (con la tripa), And they'll make some adjustments/additions. It was easy to see why the hard working hispanohablantes frequent this spot tucked away beside a gas station on University (orange sign, gang). Next time, I'm trying the burritos. They looked amazing but my team literlt wolfed them down so quickly I didn't get a piece. And as far as service goes, these cats tolerate my bad spanish so I'm practicing until they run me off. Always a plus. Pro tip: paga con fierros/ efectivo Pro tip: there's a second truck tucked into the corner with fresh juices and smoothies. The juices are completely bananas! And by bananas I don't mean bananas at all. I my favorite was the orange/strawberry... And they were so nice they let me have la yapa (ñapa... lagniappe en français) I had a group of six and OVERfed everyone for under $120 including tip.

Traditional Veracruz food. Amazing food and service. Best I've had in the Huntsville area. Will definitely be visiting again.

I discovered this mobile hot dog cart business on Facebook a month or so ago. I love a good hot…read moredog and I love a local business, so I knew I had to chase them down and try one for myself. The menu is simple but highly creative. You can build your own hot dog with a variety of toppings (classics, like ketchup or mustard, are free; premium, like peppers and onions or pineapple relish, are .75 cents) or you can order one of the chef's specialty dogs. By default, the dogs are enormous, savory, and all beef, but you can change to a sausage dog for an upcharge if that's more your flavor. Specialty dogs run between $7-$8, depending on the number and type of toppings. Each one is named after an iconic or well traveled road in Huntsville, which is a great tie-in to their name and theme. You can buy chips on the side, but we all found the dogs to be a more than ample lunchtime meal, and worth the price. My parents and I had the 431 (pineapple relish, bacon bits, peppers and onions), the South Parkway (a tricked out chili cheese), and the Monte Sano (brown mustard, kraut, pickle relish, bacon bits). Each one was delish, piled high with toppings, and made fresh to order. It's obvious the owner is thoughtful and particular about the toppings. The bacon bits were real, freshly chopped, crispy and fatty bacon -- not the kind you buy in a package at the store. Astoundingly, the buns held up to all the goodies piled on top. If you're too intimated to eat with your hands, forks and a multitude of napkins are at your disposal. The owner was there slinging dogs himself and we had a good time chatting with him. He and his wife run the operation by themselves, and it's nice to see and interact directly with the people who benefit from your business. He was very nice and did an excellent job preparing our food and telling us about his product. You can reliably find their weekly schedule posted on Facebook. They're often at Parkway Scrubs for lunch and also appear at local breweries and events for dinner, but don't take my word for it -- find their page and hunt down this cool little cart.

Get Loaded is a fairly new (I think) food truck that's come on my radar with the advent of food…read moretrucks visiting neighborhoods to serve folks in the midst of COVID-19. I got word they were gonna be parked at a place not too far from where I live, so I made the drive over to check it out. Get Loaded offers loaded...everything! Pretty much any medium that's ripe for toppings, they do it. Loaded fries, loaded potatoes, loaded nachos, and loaded fry breads are their main offerings. Loading combos vary but are available across all bases; I recall BBQ, buffalo chicken, queso, bacon, etc. All of it sounded good. They were fairly busy but doing a great job politely encouraging customers to practice social distancing. I was impressed at how carefully the gentleman who took my order handled the payments; he would simply offer the device through which you'd swipe your card out of the window. He never touched the card at all! All the staff was wearing gloves, too. I tried the queso fries: waffle fries loaded up with queso, ranch, bacon, and jalapeños. Overall, I liked them a good deal. The queso was white queso (my favorite - no fake nacho cheese for me, please!) and the jalapeños gave it a pretty strong kick. I could've done with the bacon being a liiiittle bit crispier and in slightly larger chunks. The majority of my fries were cooked to a perfect crispness, but a couple of the bigger ones had a slightly rubbery quality. One warning: this is food to be eaten as soon as it's delivered to your hands. I'm glad I sat in the car and ate mine, because it would've gotten soggy on the way home. Still, it was really tasty fresh. I got my boyfriend some buffalo chicken nachos that I brought back to the house. These held up surprisingly well, better even than my fries held up in the 10-15 minutes it took me to eat them. The buffalo chicken was chunked up in bite size pieces and was juicy and flavorful. Overall, I'd definitely visit this food truck again. I hope they continue to see success - I'd love to try out some fry bread one day. Never had that before. :) Remember, since this is a food truck, check their social media to see where they are before you head to the address listed on Yelp!

Second, the portion was great for the price. Third, the flavor of the sauce & seasoning was fantastic. The staff was so nice. I think the only thing I would change would be to make it pulled chicken. Other options included brisket & pork. BTW, I reheated my leftovers in the airfryer & they were just as good the second time around. Support local!!

I haven't had a bad thing from there. And I try to go as often as I am allowed. The chicken fajita tacos are my favorite and I love that you can choose between flour and corn tortillas and even ask for a mix if you order multiple (you will) For tortas my number one would be the cochinita! The flavors just hit and it's an absolute delight for your tastebuds. I have no bad things to say. And the customer service is always to the nines. If you have your fur baby with you, you can even ask for a dog friendly quesadilla/taco to give!

Their pastor and lengua are phenomenal (asada is hit or miss) and the flour tortillas are soooo chewy and delicious. Their cheese sauce and salsa are mid. And the only reason why I took off a star is because their hours can be super unpredictable. Make sure to give them a call OR check their instagram page BEFORE driving over! Even though their hours said they'd be open, they're not always open... Eating tacos at Valentina's is one of the reasons why I look forward to coming to HSV.
