15 Dec 2025 We went to the ER to get the husband checked out. The nurse initials AMR and Dr. Mahler were topnotch. The nurse came to me when I could go into the room. She explained what had been done so far and next steps. The doctor came in and reiterated what the nurse had stated. He returned to the room to monitor progress and provide updates about X-rays and lab work several times during the 3 hours we were there. We were fortunate the ER was not really busy when we arrived about 3:30pm. It helped that the husband is a former ER nurse and could speak the lingo with the staff. Go there if needed. read more

Had a great experience, nurses and doctors were very caring, helpful both times I have been a patient in the past year.

I would give them zero stars if I could. The E.R. staff has no compassion and lacks care. I went there being referred by my Dr who was going to admit me to a different hospital but I asked if I could come here and she ok'd. This was the worst mistake that I could have made. They turned me away saying that they did not see what my Dr saw, when they did not even do a physical exam. They would have seen what my Dr saw. It was a waste of my time and insurance money. I like the place, notwithstanding the following: Mom who is over 100, came into the ER yesterday with pneumonia. I tried to access the labs via the portal but could not log on. The web help people were of no help. I asked the RN for a copy and she directed me to medical records. Med Recs tried to send me to another location and the.n said that the labs were not "processed" yet. (They were ready 15 minutes after the specimens were drawn.) I wish they had just said "No" and saved me the hassle. read more

I literally have never been to an ER as the patient. So I went in with crazy pain .. they saw me immediately. The nurses, doctors, and radiologists were super nice and very empathetic. They were detailed about my condition and what needed to be done. They put me at ease. The service was excellent. I will say the ER was crazy. The clientele was questionable. The police were there with multiple suspects. The parking was difficult to identify. read more

Downtown healthcare! This hospital sits on the north side of downtown. It's a pretty big facility with surgery and all kinds of specialists here. We spent a few days here recovering after a procedure, so I got to know the place. The hospital is clean! The staff came by regularly to empty the trash and clean up and make things tidy. The nurses were all on time, friendly, professional and caring. They seemed to have seen it all, and with all our antics, they still put up with us. The endless stream of nurses, doctors, vocational nurses, physical therapists, etc who kept coming through was exhausting, but I was glad to see just how coordinated the care is, and how many people were looking over things to make sure everything went smoothly. The food left some to be desired. Mostly served cold, and lacking flavor, but whaddya expect from hospital food? I think that it's crummy that they charge you for parking while at the hospital. In the end, we got in and outta there in a few days, feeling much better upon discharge. read more

I had a very rude Doctor and condescending nurse. Everyone else was very friendly and helpful. I had a strange paranormal occurrence here though. Something happened to me in my room late at night when I was alone. It scared the crap out of me I couldn't sleep with the light off the rest of my stay. It was definitely real. read more

My mother had a procedure here and was placed in a semi-private room with another patient with the same first name. Every time my mom called for help, assistance came for the other patient. When my mother identified herself as the person who had called for help toileting, IV fluids, pain medication, etc she was told by the nurse, "the secretary knows who placed the call," and they would leave without helping her. I have complained to the Joint Commission (the accrediting body for hospitals) and encourage you to as well if your loved one received dangerous care. Toxic Positivity at its finest Ive been coming to this hospital since 2016 and at first it used to be okay but in recent years they've become somewhat twisted with their ways. Sometimes the staff will sneakily do things that are somwehat antagonistic, first off as a conservative who supports police, the cops/security here have such a narc personality i almost wanna become a liberal, because for any slight disagreement or remote verbal conflict will result in at least 1 policeman "guarding" your specific area, and if you get mad or yell they will immediately call security. You dont even need to do anything physical. They claim they do this to create a "healing" environment but how can you heal if you cant let out the anger u naturally get for how weird the staff operates this place? Many doctors here also can be ignorant and most are incompetent enough to give narcotics even in Times of crisis and the ones who do give narcotics dont know how to properly give them over time. Theyve also made a stupid rule where only 1 nurse can take care of you, rater then all the other nurses being able to help you with whatever like it once was in the past Thes is a place with rules made by "cats" 4 "cats" for lack of a better more accurate term. Dr Mushtaq and Dr randall rogers and SOME nurses are a few great exceptions from the pile of trash and is the only reason why i decided to give it a second star You could blame "Aron Bobb" for me having the urge to write this review in the first place. read more

My wife gave birth at this hospital and I must say that every single nurse, doctor, cleaning staff or member of the hospital that we encountered were courteous, pleasant, helpful and well trained. Considering the fact that my wife was in labor for from Tuesday to Thursday this made our stay less stressful. The rooms had ample space so I was able to lay down comfortably, bring my spare clothes in and walk around the room getting a little work out in. The rooms had a shower in it that I was able to stay fresh and clean. Nurses Michelle, Haley and Virginia went above and beyond with the care of my wife. Especially nurse Virginia who knew the perfect techniques to help my wife get closer to active labor. The staff who drew blood were pretty good. They were good at finding veins to draw blood. The staff were cautious and crossed their t's and dotted their i's to make sure my wife and the baby were safe. Whenever an action needed to be taken they explained to her the options and respected her choices. They stuck to my wife's birthing plan and made her happy. Dr Kimberly, Crittenden was quick and cool. She even jammed out to the music we had during delivery. Can't say enough good things about her. The food however, is terrible. And you'll have to wait long periods of time for it. It would be best to order food from outside and have it delivered. All in all, if your looking for a hospital to have a baby. My boyfriend's mother has been in this hospital a couple of times during the last six months. While they have had some issues I think they primarily center around her surgeon and not the hospital or staff. I want to leave positive feedback about a wonderful Nurse, Lura. I remember the unique spelling of her name (pronounced Lara or Laura). I don't recall her specific title but she came in when we were very frustrated about the circumstances. She answered all of our questions and while it wasn't everything we wanted to hear, her delivery made all the difference in the world. Then she insisted on ordering my boyfriend's mother's favorite dish from Olive Garden for her - on her own dime! She wouldn't accept money from us after multiple offers. She is a true gem and this hospital is very fortunate to have her on staff. read more

UPDATE: My Mom picked up MRSA at this hospital. I wonder why? When every day I visit there is trash on the floor, in the hallway in my moms room. This it totally unacceptable and careless! Not happy. Not happy with this place right now. Negligence in the word that comes to mind right now. My mom receives peritoneal dialysis and yesterday, Saturday on August 22, one of the nurses set it up incorrectly. The machine stated "line check" and there was no nurse. I tried to find the nurse who connected her and found him. He "corrected" the issue and left even though my mother was still experiencing severe shortness of breath and trouble breathing and speaking. He said it would drain and left. After waiting a good amount of time I've reached out and found her on-call nurse and I told him what was going on. He promptly called another nurse from the dialysis area and he came down. He promptly assessed and addressed the issue, the machine was not draining at all and was pumping my mom full of fluids, causing her pain and the inability to breathe. I'm afraid to think would've happened if I wasn't here. Careless! Careless! Careless! I have repeated asked for an incident report and everyone is acting like it never happened. Except for the nurse who fixed the error. He stated "I guess they are going to have to go over how the connect the machine" I want that report! Worst bedside manors! It started horrible with the night triage nurse in L&D. My daughter in law was admitted and there was absolutely no communication. They didn't tell her anything and she was scared. They finally let me in and completely ignored me. Once they moved her to a room that nurse was decent but my lord the nurses are so RUDE. I've asked for water 5x! They didn't tell her how to order food so she hasn't eaten since the morning and it's 8pm. (She's 36 wks pregnant) Her call light has been on for 30 min because the nurse left her IV unplugged and it's dripping on the floor. I go out and they are all standing around talking while the bells ring. When i asked for the nurse one lady promptly told me i needed to wait in the room. -The clock in the room doesn't work -She hasn't been offered towels for a shower -No soap -No trash cans were in here and nurses were just putting dirty gloves and paper towels on the counter -No room number on the wall -No nurse info on the wall The room is dark and cold and this hospital is the WORST! The only good thing was one nurse named Janice. *I also want to mention a nurse named Shay who was talking crap about a doctor scheduling to induce a woman. She was very upset that it was inconveniencing her work day. Though she wasn't my DIL nurse (thank god) after she talked crap for several minutes she answered the phone "This is Shay". You should be ashamed of yourself. Not only did a women have to be induced but for you to fee comfortable to continue to talk the way you were while w patients family member was right in front of you. This is not only a review but a journey. Let us start with March 19, 2023. Patient admitted to emergency room. Diagnosed with sever bowel or intestinal blockage. Admitted to hospital room 516. Contrast screen to be ordered to help determine course of action. March 20, 2023 patient still in extreme pain. Patient has nasogastric (NG) tube inserted. Contrast not ordered because patients orders were bumped for someone else considered more important. March 21, 2023 patient still in extreme pain. Family member notices change in color from the NG tube and asks nurse for assistance. Family member told by the nurse this is normal and not to worry. A little time later, family member asks again if nurse will at least get up from desk to check NG tube. Under extreme inconvenience, the nurse goes into the room to check and finds the NG tube filled with blood. Now it becomes important and all measures are taken under emergency protocol. Contrast still not ordered because patients orders were bumped for someone else considered more important. March 22, 2023 patient still in extreme pain. NG tube comes out because not properly secured. Had to be reinserted. This is an extremely painful procedure to endure in addition to the pain already being suffered. Contrast still not ordered because patients orders were bumped for someone else considered more important. Family member becomes very upset and has a very concerned conversation with nursing staff. Doctor informed that Contrast still not completed. He changes order to Stat. March 23, 2023 patient still in extreme pain. Contrast finally ordered. March 24,2023 patient still in extreme pain. Doctor will move forward with surgery. Scheduled 03-25-2023 prepping at 6 am. (Timing is important). March 25, 2023 patient still in extreme paid. Waiting for prep until 7:30 am. Appr. 7:45 doctor comes in with Anesthesiologist to inform family that the cardiologist report suggests the patient needs heart surgery prior to attempting blockage surgery. The doctor said the family the family was informed in a previous conversation with the cardiologist. There were NO conversations with the cardiologist and the report the surgeon was referring to was one that was completed several weeks before this situation. March 26, 2023 patient still in extreme pain. Cardiologist comes to hospital and apologizes for the confusion. March 27, 2023 patient still in extreme pain. Cardiologist refers with head of cardiology and he said the bowel blockage procedure can move forward. There was no need for heart procedure. Family now frustrated, concerned and frightened due to the lack of consistency and major lack of communication. Family member reached out to office administration. March 28,2023 patient still in extreme pain. Family members meet with CMO, asst. CNO, and Director of Patient Safety to voice their concerns. They were very attentive and empathetic. Family members advised the system is broken and the lack of patient care was extremely disappointing. On all levels. April 4, 2023 the patient was released to Rehab facility that if you could imaging was even worse. But we must count our blessings. The patient is home resting and recovering. This ends our journey for now but close your eyes and imagine this being your 85 year old mom. read more

Went in for abdominal pains, everything was going well until I got discharged. I live 30 min away from the hospital and halfway home I realized they gave me the wrong prescription forms and discharge papers. I called and they proceeded to tell me that they cannot email it to me and that I need to go back in so they can correct it. I'm not doing that over something they messed up on. I legit have someone else's forms and prescriptions in my lap as I type this, which is NOT okay. Probably won't be returning as I am worried this will happen again. read more

I came in for abdominal mesh removal by the amazing Dr. Saenz. I am hospitalized for the 4 days. I have had the most amazing care here. From Diana at checkin, Alex & Jasmine at pre operating testing, the fabulous Margaret who helped me in pre opp check in. Day of surgery I was so lucky to have Trish and David get me ready for surgery. I've settled into my room and have been cared for by the best. Thanks to Claire, Pam and Toby. All so caring and helpful and kind. I'm not sure how anyone has had a bad experience here.. I've been beyond impressed! read more

On 5/21/2020 after midnight I arrived severely sick to this hospital. I'm so writing a complaint against the ER staff assigned that night. I couldn't verbalize what my symptoms were. Dina Rivera my sister couldn't go inside and speak on my behalf. Another Spanish speaking guy on the other side of me walked out only to be chased by a non Spanish speaking nurse mocking him saying " no medica...tion for you!" In a supposed spanish accent. That's when I hacked into a vomiting bag and the nurse trying to get detail walks away from me annoyed and once met by another nurse started laughing and saying "oh god!" As if I were faking. I called my sister who was outside waiting and tried to tell her multiple times I wanted to go but she too couldn't understand me. At that point I took matters into my own hands, pushed myself out of the chair IV still hooked in my arm in attempts to walk out. They chased me to the exit were the nurse stopped me to remove the IV and then said angrily "Now you can go". I was mad, I couldn't defend myself and barely able to hold my self up to walk out. Only to be rushed to Baptist hospital were they inevitably ended up having to keep me hospitalized for almost 3 days. Now that I have recovered I find out through my isurance that Methodist never even submitted record of me visiting their hospital that night. So just found out that my 87 yr old grandma went here last Saturday for an awful cough to where she couldn't even breathe, did tests on her and scans and supposedly found nothing dismissed her with an RX for medication for her cough and come to find out that she had a mild heart attack some days later and my uncle took her to Santa Rosa where the diagnosed her with pneumonia and CHF!! What the hell Methodist!! Y'all NIGHT Crew sucks there at the ER!!! U over work your people to where they can be taking someone's blood and dosing off at the same time cuz I have seen it I was that patient! Hace unos días llegué a este hospitales con dolores muy fuertes tenía 14 semanas de embarazo no me hicieron caso solo me tenían sentada nisiquiera me hicieron pruebas de nada, hasta después de una hora me empezó a salir un liquido y fui al baño me salió demasiada sangre y fue cuando me pasaron a una camilla me dijeron que había tenido un aborto y me querían hacer un tacto 2 hombres y yo solo pedi hablar con un ginecólogo y el me dijo que mi bebe aún estaba vivo y dentro de mi cuando me habían dicho lo contrario. Me pasaron a un cuarto y me dijeron que tenía que estar en reposo después me dijeron que había reventado fuente y llegó una enfermera que nisiquiera tuvo la decencia de presentarse siempre con mala actitud me dijo que tenía que empezar a pujar pero me tenía completamente acostada eran las 6 am yo le explicaba que si podía inclinar la cama para poder pujar porque para mí era difícil pujar de esa manera no me decía nada y se salió del cuarto ya eran casi las 3 de la tarde y le comenté a mi pareja que me ayudara incline el respaldo de la cama y tuve mi parto yo sola con ayuda de mi pareja llame a la enfermera y jamás llegó, entró al cuarto cuando el bebe ya estaba afuera y solo cortó el cordón mi bebe aún estaba vivo me mostró a mi bebe y comenzamos a llorar mi pareja y yo y se llevó al bebe sin preguntarnos me dijo que iba a limpiarme y yo pedí un momento porque estaba asimilando todo lo que estaba pasando y me ignoró yo recién aliviada me limpio bruscamente no respetó mi dolor ni el de mi pareja cuando lo pedimos, nisiquiera me quiso decir el sexo de mi bebe le preguntabamos algo y nos dejaba ahí sin decirnos nada tuve un muy mal trato después del momento que ya estaba pasando por la pérdida de mi bebe y todavía tener que pasar por esos malos tratos desde que llegué al cuarto jamás me dio ropa interior, ni calcetas ni me cambió la bata, mis amigas fueron a visitarme y también presenciaron los malos tratos de la enfermera, después me dieron unas pastillas para expulsar la placenta por vía oral que serian 2 dosis y la segunda me tocaba a las 7:30 ya eran las 8:15 y apenas venía un enfermera y me dijo que iban a ser por el recto a lo que yo pregunté porque habían cambiado de opinión (ya que no me informaban nada de los procedimientos que se me hacían a menos de que yo preguntara y aveces no me contestaban) a lo cual la nueva enfermera le habla a la enfermera que estaba siendo grosera y con un tono fuerte me dice QUE PASÓ?! y le dije solo quería saber para que son las pastillas y porque por allí y me dijo así lo decidió la doctora a lo que yo respondí puedo hablar con la doctora y me gritó PARA QUE? y le dije que solo quería saber porque había cambiado de opinión se salió del cuarto sin decir nada y allí todo empeoró vino una doctora que no había visto y solo hablaba inglés yo recién aliviada me metió los dedos y estaba haciendo movimientos demasiado bruscos dentro de mi tanto que mi cuerpo se movía de arriba hacia abajo yo grité y dije que parara porque me dolía demasiado por lo cual se molestó e hizo unas caras despues lo volvió a hacer sin mi consentimiento, yo llorando y ella solo empezó a hablar con la enfermera entre ellas ella estaba gritando muchas cosas en inglés muy molesta y mi pareja y yo no entendíamos nada, igual se salió de la habitación sin decirnos nada yo sentí que fue discriminación o racismo quizás porque no hablamos el mismo idioma a lo poco que yo entendí dijo que yo no la dejaba hacer su trabajo, cuando ella realmente lo que hizo fue lastimarme yo tenía poco de haberme aliviado, después vino otra enfermera que me dio un mejor trato me preguntó que porque no tenía calcetas ni ropa interior ni toalla me dijo que si necesitaba algo (a lo cual yo no sabía que el hospital nos proporcionaba eso) me trajo los artículos y me dijo que metería el medicamento por el recto empezó el procedimiento y cuando terminó me limpió con mucha delicadeza sin yo decirle allí supe que la otra enfermera me estaba maltratando yo le platiqué a la enfermera y me comentó que así era el personal allí que se desesperaban con los pacientes y solo querían hacer todo rápido si no se molestaban, yo pedí hablar con una trabajadora social y jamás llegó . Las pastillas por el recto tardaban 5 horas en hacer efecto y aún tenía los dolores que causaban las pastillas porque apenas estaban comenzando a hacer efecto cuando vuelve a entrar la doctora que me lastimó pero ahora si con un traductor y me dice que tengo que entrar a cirugia que me pondrían anestesia en la espalda y que me harían cesaria si yo me negaba a lo cual yo me asusté, y me dijo que tenía que pasar a cirugía y yo le dije que aún las pastillas no hacían efecto que quería esperar para expulsar yo la placenta y solo me dijo te haremos cesárea y se salió. Llego una anestesióloga a preguntarme si ya me habían explicado cómo sería la anestesia en caso de yo querer la cirugía la cual era un legrado yo aún seguía con los dolores y ella me explicó que me dormirían read more

This hospital is absolutely awful. Leadership and doctors should be replaced. The nurses are actually pretty good. My father-in-law is currently in this hospital unfortunately. The communication and flow of information from the doctors has been the worst I've ever seen. i've asked repeatedly for a doctor or case manager to reach out with no results. This is especially critical for my father-in-law because he doesn't speak English. I hope I don't ever have another loved one visit this place. I honestly wouldn't take my dog here. read more

I only had experience on the PCU. Some of nurses were fairly good and conscientious, others were hardly ever seen. Plus, they would never answer the call light or never come after answering. IVs were always beeping. Not at all good with medications being given on-time. Find a better hospital. I thought they knew they were hired to care for their assigned patients! read more

Staff and faculty are great. Doctors are amazing. BUT THE FOOD IS DISGUSTING. I have gone to visit or with family members to other hospitals in San Antonio where the food was delicious, but at this hospital On McCullough is the worst food I have ever thrown away!! I saw Doctors walk in and walk out. There is absolutely nothing nutritious here. Instead of so many staff members walking around doing absolutely nothing, learn to cook nutritious. My mother is currently in this hospita for a bowel obstruction. Her IV blew yesterday at 8 am. We were told that they ordered a picc line because she was dehydrated and her veins are small. By 5 pm, we learned that the picc team was gone for the day when the nurse said they were there till 7 pm. When I left at midnight, there was still no answers. This is a hospital, right? This is what you do, right? My mother is 75, a diabetic, and a former open heart surgery patient. I'm glad she is strong, and hope there is an IV in her when I go up there this morning. read more

I'm visiting because my Nanny is here due to another recent stroke. While this hospital doesn't seem to be nearly has "connected and constructed" as ones in Houston, it seems to be okay. Parking was a bit of a confusing maze, but a bit of patience got us in...The nurses seem to be open to input and interested in whatever family members have to share. Hosptials aren't the happiest place to visit, but this seemed to be okay. read more

Misdiagnosed. They ignore patients needs and don't listen when you tell them you are in pain. They said it was anxiety. A couple of hours later went to another er where they found a clot. DONT GO HERE! It could mean life or death and they will say you are "just anxious". read more

Came in to the ER for abdominal pain. I didn't sit for 1 second and the ER team took me in right away! I did stay for 5 days and I want to mention that EVERYONE from Day 1 were very nice and professional. My nurses Marcos and Jocelyn and PCA Dionne went above and beyond while they took care of me. My doctors Dr. Saenz and Dr. Al Salihi and tbeir awesome team explained everything to me very well about my surgeries. Thank you everyone for doing what you do and making sure your patients are well cared for. Even after my discharge 4 days later, I am able to get ahold of anyone when I needed questions answered. read more

It is with a heavy heart that I write this. I had thought that letting a few weeks go by would dull my anger; however, that is not the case. About three weeks ago, my dear friend, of 44 years, was admitted to this hospital. He had late stage colon cancer and we were all hoping for better care and results. I want to be clear that MY review has nothing to do with the nursing staff and the care that my friend received. I have no personal knowledge of the care that my friend received. My friend's wife, of 37 years gives this hospital a rating of 1 out of 5 due to the surgeon's refusal to do surgery on my friend. The doctor did not to inherit another doctor's or hospital's problems. My friend was moved to two more hospitals before it was over. This hospital is practicing a very strict visitation policy. Not just strict, but ridiculously strict. Only two visitors, at a time, are allowed to visit a patient. When you enter the hospital, you walk up to a desk, manned by an older woman (the times we visited). Thankfully, she was not always on duty. She acknowledges you but does not greet you in a pleasant manner. The younger ones working this desk are much more pleasant but seem intimidated by this older woman's demeanor. ID is required and you receive a printed label announcing you as a visitor. This older woman took great pleasure in letting us know that we would not be allowed to go up as our friend already had one visitor. She gave us the name of the "visitor." The "visitor" is his wife, who had been with him, previously in valley hospitals, for almost 80 days and was now not leaving his side. His wife had to leave the room, come down to see this guard, who, by now, I am calling Brunhilda, present her visitor pass and leave the building. Brunhilda will not allow anyone to sit in the very small waiting room inside as well. If you were waiting to see a patient, you had to walk outside, find the very few seats available, in the 100 plus degree heat, breathe in exhaust fumes from passing vehicles and hope that a previous visitor would let you know that it was your turn. On one of our visits, another good friend was visiting the room. Brunhilda knew the name of our friend, the name of the visitor and that we were waiting for the other guest to leave. My friend's wife told us, via text, that the guest would be leaving so we could have our turn. Brunhilda never let us know that the guest had left and that we could go up. I was livid! Unfortunately, we had to deal with this bitter, angry woman on several of our visits. I want the administration to know of this horrible woman's piss-poor attitude and condescending behavior. I am still so very angry. We were not treated this way by others manning this desk, on other visits. it was only this one woman. She, obviously, seems to relish what little power she thinks she has and wants to let you know that she is in charge. Thankfully, my friend was eventually moved to Main Methodist. At both other hospitals, in which my friend stayed, we were treated respectfully when we were given visitor badges. We were also not subjugated to waiting until a holier-than-thou guard allowed us in. Napoleon once said, "Power corrupts and absolute power, corrupts absolutely." It is a very small and insecure person that uses whatever limited responsibility and authority they have to use it as a club to keep others in line. I pray that I never have to return to this hospital. I will never remain silent when I see an injustice and this was absurd and so very sad. I want to let the administration of this hospital that they really need to supervise staff so that this behavior does not go unchecked. I see by the other reviews of this hospital that MM has many more problems than Brunhilda to deal with....physician, heal thyself! My friend was dying!!!! And you are using your position to be the gate keeper of a hospital where all we want to do is visit family and friends. How dare you, Brunhilda, make yourself judge, jury and executioner?! Thankfully, I do not run into people like Brunhilda very often. It is a sad state of affairs that such a brittle human being has to be in the position of deciding who is allowed to visit. I walked in telling them my heart hurts. They hook me up and my BPM is 139. I tried to explain that its been like this for the most part, but sometimes itll go back to normal for a few minutes and spike back up again. They come back to me an hour later to check me and it was down to 87. They said i was fine and could go home again. I remind them its been fluctuating and they wave me off saying that im probably just anxious and i wasted their time. I get out to the parking lot and feel my heart beat spike again, so i use my watch to measure it. Sure enough, 168. Now i had to drive across town with immeasurable chest pain to find another ER that will actually listen to me this time. read more

I was there for 7 days with Covid Pneumonia. When a problem would arise and I would request a patient advocate from my nurses it would never happen even though I made several request. Staff just blew me off. I tried calling through hospital switch board no administrator would answer their phones. They do not give 2 shits about their patients. I am a medical professional myself. They seriously do not give a crap about you. I know hospital food is not anything to brag about, but The food was the worst I have ever had. Warm food was delivered in thick plastic containers. These plastic containers leached the plastic smell and taste into all food. I lost 20lbs during my 7day stay. The only food eatable was if I received a sandwich that was delivered in a sandwich container. Complain all you want they don't care. I thought this was really great, My infectious disease (Dr. Sienz?) refused get near me or even to come in the room to talk to me. He would stand outside my room at my window and call me on the phone each day. This guy is suppose to be the best at what he does, with no patient contact. He is the specialist? This created problems because he was confused and charted that I was initially refusing his treatment protocols. It took me 24 hours and a lot of arguing with staff to get that straight, I never refused. His mistake delayed my treatment by 24 hours. In the end after all treatment was complete and I was suppose to get out on Sunday they would not release me. Monday I had to threaten to sign out Against Medical Advise before they finally got the paperwork started. Funny, after my serious threat it only took them 45 minutes to get me out of there. Never again will I go there. read more

We had a great experience with the wife's procedure recently. The hospital is clean and everyone is nice and helpful. It is easier to get around in than some of the others we have been to over the years. We didn't have to traverse a maze of hallways to get to the area we needed to be. read more

Had an outpatient procedure yesterday. All the staff were pleasant and informative, even received a call today to check on me. I definitely support the Methodist facilities. read more

The people in the front (not Yvonne she is the nicest one) are probably the worst people you have to deal with throughout the whole hospital. They are very insensitive to situations. Let me just start by saying, we're in Texas and there is a whole waiting area in the front of the hospital (inside) but yet they make families that are waiting to see their sick family members wait outside. And the only reason why we're waiting is because they only allow so many people up to the rooms, for example like the ICU. Why isn't there a better system?? Do better Methodist. Find a solution because as the summer months come in closer it's inhumane to make people wait outside. UPDATE: Not even minutes later my dad rushed over to help a lady who was waiting outside of the hospital because she was about to pass out from the heat. This probably could've been avoided if they let her wait inside. read more

It was It was one of the most harrowing experiences we have ever had in a hospital. She went to the ER with a case of sepsis and was admitted to the seventh floor of Metropolitan Methodist hospital. The hospital staff on the 7th floor with the exception of two nurses was absolutely horrific. After being cut for the 9th time on her amputated leg, they were unable to keep her pain levels under control. Nevertheless, they belittled her with harsh language. My sister was so in pain when I picked her up that she couldn't speak, and they were trying to send her home with Tylenol 3 at first after she was sent to the hospital on much stronger medicines. After I protested about her coming home in the amount of pain she was in the very next day I get a phone call stating that she was going to be going home and they were going to send her home in an Uber. My sister,at this time is crying hysterically because she's in so much pain still yet she can't understand why she's been talked to in such a manner then when that was postponed, I get a phone call another 2 hours later stating that she would be released by ambulance. But the actions of the nurse manager on the 7th floor is what I'm really angry about. Miss Jackie Kennel, the lady who was okay with addressing a patient in such a degrading manner. I'm so disappointed with how she was treated since it's not the first time I've heard that this hospital treats people badly, Especially our homeless population. At this point in time right now my sister is still undergoing extreme pain so chances are I'm going back to the ER this time she will not go back to metropolitan under no circumstances. Someone should seriously consider reviewing the actions of the nurse manager on the 7th floor because she truly was completely and utterly unprofessional in the way she treated my sister. I do want to compliment Miss Victoria and Ms Jenna, two of the nurses that helped my sister during her stay there they made things at least somewhat tolerable, so thank you to you two ladies. And as for Miss Jackie and the comments that she's made even concerning how she felt this wouldn't happen again because I came in protesting about how my sister was going home in the manner that she was in,  she said it wouldn't happen again, meaning my sister was going to leave the hospital  ,in one way or another, that's fine I was looking out for my sister and I would do it again. read more

This hospital has the worst bedside manner. You have to pay an arm and a leg for parking and then WAIT OUTSIDE to hope that you can visit your loved ones. There should be an open waiting area for families waiting on their family members. One person only is allowed this would be acceptable if there were no PRIOR COVID TESTING REQUIRED FOR PATIENTS. This is terrible. If people ARE MANDATED to wear a mask why would they have to wait OUTSIDE, the weather. I observed people outside in blankets. I drove 5+ hours to come make sure my moms surgery went well and I can't even be inside this hospital and I am paying for parking. SMH shame on the administration for this hospital and probably it's affiliated hospitals and health care facilities... read more
