I've recently visited twice in a two year period, once as a patient and then a caregiver. Each visit was fluid, in and out in 2 hours! The staff is efficient and friendly. There is alot of back and forth to the front desk which can be annoying when you're not feeling your best. The waiting area is clean no trash or food wrappers in sight. The restrooms are clean as well. Parking is good but being a female it can be frightful at night with no visible security. There is a security staff person just inside the ER but I hope at least cameras cover the parking area. Otherwise, Saint Francis Hospital ER is great for non life threatening issues. They are personable and really empathize when you are hurting instead of making you feel like just another face. And the followup is great too!

Much less intimidating than a hospital (smaller size, more intimate), this well-marked surgical center and rehab hospital is great. Prior to our surgery I'd only been here for heel-sticks for jaundice testing on my newborns. We came in, and I was allowed to come back with her to triage, where they had a special corner for pediatric patients, with a colorful coloring table and a tv/DVD player with lots of cool DVDs to pick from. We watched about ten minutes of Cinderella, when we met our nurses, the anesthesiologist and nurse anesthetist, and our ENT arrived. Everyone was sweet and smiling, and they let her keep on her cute house shoes we brought her in, and she was allowed to have her lovey with her during surgery. They took her back, and they had cherry scented nitrous, and let her fall asleep before inserting a plastic IV into her hand (no needle means less pulling and tugging and bruising, I guess). My mother-in-law and I were allowed to go meet her in recovery, where she awoke to Peg + Cat on WKNO in her own private little pediatric recovery area. She was given a popsicle and iced-down apple juice in recovery, and requested a second (purple) popsicle, which was freezer-burned and gooey but she loved it anyway. We ended up mixing half of it into her juice. About an hour into recovery, we put her PJS on, they removed the IV, and we went home. The recovery nurse was thorough and very kind in describing what to expect, and how to care for her at home. I would recommend this surgical center over and over. If your surgery doesn't require a hospital stay, try Baptist Germantown Surgical Center.

To start, know that I'm a nursing student, so I'm pretty picky when it comes to my own medical care. I like to know that things are clean, and I like to know what's going on while I'm being taken care of. I got both of these things here. When I signed in, it only took me a couple of minutes before the receptionist asked for payment and gave me information. She was very attentive and prompt, especially considering that it was 0615. After this, I sat back down for about 20 minutes until I was called to the pre-operative room, where I had vitals taken and received preliminary fluids/antibiotics. The nurses in this area were exceptional. Once I told them that I'm a student nurse, they explained everything that they were doing as a way to teach me. It takes a lot of patience for seasoned nurses to do this, so I really appreciated the extra effort on their parts. Before my podiatric surgeon came in, I received visits from the anesthesiologist, CRNA (certified registered nurse anesthetist), and scrub nurse, and they all answered the questions I had kindly and promptly. Post-operatively, the nurses were also great. Answered all the questions my family members and I had and gave extensive discharge instructions. Overall, I feel that this was a great facility. If I must return for some reason, I would not oppose coming here for surgical care.

They were good, too, and the wonderful ambulance people took me straight to my room. My experience at big Baptist was amazing apart from the fact that I felt like crap. My nurse, Pri, and her student nurse, Taylor, went above and beyond what they were required to do. Dr. Kuperman was the best doctor I think I have ever seen in the hospital. Jeremiah and Denic were good nurses, too. The food was good. The service in all areas was good. I truly believe some major changes have been made at Baptist. I was impressed, and I really wanted other folks to know also.

It seemed like they didn't communicate well with each other, leading to rounds at all hours without much consideration for patient comfort. This inconsistency was frustrating and affected the overall experience. **Nursing Staff:** On a brighter note, the nursing staff was outstanding. I had several nurses who truly stood out, including Pam, Monica, Sam, Jada, and Michelle. Their dedication was evident, and they made a significant difference in my care. Even the trainee, Autumn, impressed me with her professionalism and attentiveness. While there were a couple of nurses who didn't meet my expectations, the majority were exceptional and really made my stay more bearable. **Housekeeping:** Housekeeping services were also commendable, particularly when Michelle was on duty. Her work ethic and attention to detail were evident, and I believe she deserves recognition, possibly even a promotion, to help train others in the department. **Dining Services:** Dining services, however, left much to be desired. Although the manager, Camille, made efforts to address issues, it felt like some staff viewed their roles merely as jobs rather than a calling. That said, one staff member, Nisha, stood out for her commitment to customer service. She went above and beyond to meet my requests with a genuine smile. **Patient Care Assistants:** I must also highlight the amazing PCAs, Kierra and Jasmine. Their passion for their work was palpable, and their interactions with patients were warm and caring. In summary, Baptist Hospital Memphis has a lot of potential, especially with its dedicated nursing and housekeeping staff. However, improvements in doctor collaboration and dining services could enhance the overall patient experience. If the hospital focuses on these areas, it could significantly elevate the quality of care provided.

I informed the woman that I had a terrible rash on my eye and my forehead, and it was hurting. I explained to the young lady that I was from out of town and on vacation . She asked me if I had Insurance and I said yes, and I gave her my insurance card and my ID.. within minutes Especially the nurse asked me to step inside to get my vitals. She asked me what was going on, and I explain to her it was an irritation that had been bothering me for a few days and I feel that I need to see a doctor because it doesn't feel normal. The nurse said a doctor would be in to see me momentarily. Within five minutes. Doctor came and spoke with me. Very kindly the doctor asked me to explain to him what was going on as I pointed to my forehead. He immediately said I know your symptoms follow me. I walked to the other area with the doctor and he explained to me what my condition was. It wasn't long before the attending physician came and gave his synopsis. Very quickly and with care the two doctors explained to me what my condition was and how it worked and then explain that the medication I would receive would be for pain and infection. With all of that being said, the young doctors care and attitude and mindset was just so remarkably amazing. The staff the cleanliness I would give this hospital an A + immediately, and I would advise anyone that is visiting the Bartlett community in Memphis, Tennessee had an emergency or had to be hospitalized to visit this care center. Doctor on staff who assisted in my care name is Dr.Cardwell. An amazing physician, caring person and beautiful soul.

In short, I do not recommend this medical office. No need to go through a similar experience to…read morewhat I had. Went in for an annual checkup and was charged for something completely different. I attempted to get it corrected as I thought it was obviously a mistake and was disappointed at every level dealing with the bureaucratic system they have in place. A total waste of time given the simplistic and correct solution. To provide detail, I had a yearly checkup and even had my bloodwork done previously to my visit so I could discuss with the doctor during my check up. During my visit I discussed my health in general, I also was able to ask questions about my bloodwork since I already had the results prior to the appointment. During the visit I discussed some allergies I've been having and was referred to allergist. There were no diagnoses, testing, prescriptions provided or follow up visits scheduled, only a recommendation that I should visit an allergist. After receiving my bill, it listed that I was seen as an outpatient and when calling the billing department I was advised this is one of the more expensive ways to be seen. I explained that I went in for an annual checkup and they agreed to send back to the office for recoding. After not hearing anything back for several weeks I reached out again requesting to speak with the practice manager to ensure this would be corrected. After speaking with the practice manager she explained that although it was coded incorrectly, that since I spoke about an allergy I will be charged for the annual check up and an allergy visit as well. She further explains the policy is posted in the room about how yearly checkups don't cover health issues you may have and made it sound like she's helping me out by just charging the additional allergy visit along with my checkup. She also said that I spent 50 minutes with the doctor, it was under 25 minutes. This is such a red flag in itself that the amount of time was extremely exaggerated in an attempt to make me feel I spent too much time with the doctor. I think I understand what's going on, it was not a typical 10 minute visit since I already had my bloodwork and was able to inquire about the results. Very deceptive and unfair not to advise a patient about this policy when the patient expects to speak about current health issues with the doctor during an annual checkup. At the very least, clinics should be required to be explain during checkin if you have an annual checkup that you're not allowed to discuss health related issues without incurring additional charges especially if there is not testing or additional appointments needed. At any rate, a company that charges services that are not transparent should not be trusted with your health. Even with the current state of our healthcare this is a surprise that any company would risk alienating their customers over what would appear to be a straightforward ethical practice. Additionally today I received a voice mail from the billing department that they are leaving the coding as it was originally charged as an outpatient?? $400+ dollars for an outpatient charge for what was an annual checkup. So unethical.
