This dude used cardboard and duct tape to fill in the area below the subwoofer instead of using any other method besides that and has a nerve to say he'll charge $100 to fix his garbage work! if you want quality work done avoid this guy at all cost! read more

One of the rudest and most unprofessional shops I have ever dealt with. Quoting their owner "my business is just about making the most money I can everyday, that's it", this was prompted by inquiring about any custom audio work. Metric car stereo is a car audio shop in Fredericksburg that is ran by a married couple. The husband (Don) does all of the audio, and the wife sits behind a desk. They also have their child in the shop watching super loud videos the entire time, headphones might be a good suggestion? I was buying some audio supplies, and asked several questions. Don repeatedly made rude remarks and talked poorly about the audio system components I purchased (maybe because they weren't purchased from him?) even though it's all top rated gear from Alpine Rockford and Pioneer (also recommended by crutchfield and sonic electronix). Then he charged me 3x the normal prices for some parts and said they were top tier. I didn't have an amp wiring kit and distribution block -- I wanted to complete my audio install that day and needed them, so he gave me a 3x price surcharge. The same exact are parts online and at the local bestbuy for again, 1/3 the price. I imagine these exorbitant prices carry over into their install prices, but obviously I will never use those services. He even said when talking to him he doesn't care about car audio and lost interest in it decades ago... and it really shows. This isn't an enthusiast shop, or a good opportunity to support a smaller shop vs a big chain (ex. Bestbuy) Take your money and vehicles elsewhere, because it's probably time they consider a different career path if they're so uninterested in their work. read more

I initially liked the owner and the $1,200 video system he installed but a year a half later, when the unit needed service, Don refused to schedule service even though I acknowledge it was at my expense and not under his or factory warranty. Another show repaired the unit and discovered why Metric refused to service: sloppy connections that led to a short. read more

Many thanks, to the staff at Metric for the excellent service they provided during the installation of our dash cam. The price quoted was the price charged, the installation looks perfect (Don picked the locations), and it works flawlessly. The installation process was fully explained, he showed me the power connection and fuse location, along with the system functions. As I am not the most technologically proficient, he took his time and made sure I understood how to use the equipment. Overall, it was a great experience and I recommend Metric without hesitation. read more

Bought a used BMW convertible to have fun with, but I missed the niceties of Bluetooth audio, a backup camera, Android Auto, and the like that we have in our newer cars, so we had Metric install an Alpine system with a nice display along with a backup camera. Don did a first-rate job on the installation, and he's truly a perfectionist in his work. read more

Amazing find!! The owner and his staff were great! We purchased a DVD player for our van and four headsets. The install was quick and the kids have enjoyed watching movies on our summer trips. This place rocks! The owner is super knowledgeable and friendly, and the staff is experienced and professional. I have had 4 different car stereos installed here dating between 2015-2018 and each time was a very positive experience. I chose this place originally because I wanted to support a local business. (I vowed never to go back to Best Buy after an unpleasant and overly priced install experience in 2014). Don, the man who captains the ship, has been very helpful in telling me what supplies are needed or excessive. In my wife's car, I recently had parking sensors and blind spot sensors installed and I am amazed at the quality of the work. When it comes to monkeying with cars, I prefer to let the pros do their work, and this is the only place I will trust to do a quality and professional job. read more
