I wish I could give this a 0 rating. My building uses Reza's services so naturally I called him when I needed something to be fixed, but I should have listened to the reviews and opted to call someone else instead. Long story short, I needed something fixed as part of a home inspection obligation and Reza and his receptionist was just so difficult to deal with. About 15 minutes prior to the appointment, his receptionist calls and says that Reza thinks that I would be late to go meet him to pay so she says he will cancel and reschedule. He apparently thought I was going to be late at the SCHEDULED TIME to pay him, thus making him late to his next appointments (then perhaps his receptionist need to work on scheduling him according to the job and location?). Based on some reviews I've seen online, it sounds like if he thinks the traffic is bad or if he's in a certain mood (or whether he decides if he likes you or not), he may or may not cancel on you at the last minute. Anyway, since I needed the job done asap (rather than having to go shop around for another person), we ended up rescheduling and it was finally done (although I had to get my real estate agent involved to help us with the transaction to move it along). I do have to note, during this whole interaction, we initially agreed on a cash amount, but he later told me he needed to add tax on top and to send him an e-transfer before the job started. I asked to pay by credit card and to provide me with a receipt, but he didn't respond to that (note that his website says they take cash, debit or credit card https://www.metrobcheatingservices.com/contact-us/) After a bit more headaches with him and his company, I ended up paying the cash amount that we initially agreed upon and received a receipt. Texted Reza to ask if he could help repair our patio gas heater-at first he said the parts were not available so we did some research and ordered them ourselves. He then agreed to install them-which he did but completely backwards-and rushed away before we realized we could not put the unit back together because of his error. When we texted him back he said it was not his problem-that the gas part was working when he left-which was true but in the wrong place. We offered to pay him (again) to correct his mistake-and absolutely no response. We ended up having to hire someone else to reinstall the part in the right place. Completely unacceptable service-if you don't know how to do something properly be upfront and declare that before accepting money. Would NEVER use this company again or recommend them. read more

Initially, I called my heat pump installer to service our fireplace. The receptionist said it would take three weeks to have a technician look at it. I found Metro City Services online and called them. Reza, the owner, came out the next day. He serviced and cleaned the fireplace. He was polite and professional. The service cost was reasonable. I mentioned to Reza about our broken downstairs toilet. He said he could replace it easily. He offered to go buy a toilet and install it. I told him I preferred to pick it out myself. He was fine with that. He installed the toilet two days later. It looks and works great. His charge for installation was very reasonable and cheaper than the big name plumbers in my area. I would definitely recommend Metro City Services Group to my friends and family. read more

Someone from this company came in to fix our gas fireplace. It stopped working again within 48 hours. We called them to come in to fix it again, as we were told it was under warranty. They booked us in for another appointment. They later called back to cancel, indicating that the fireplace needs to be replaced. This is completely false. while they were here they told us that something else may need to be replaced if "the cleaning" did not work. They just did not want to honour the warranty. A message was left for them to contact us to resolve the matter and they did not even attempt to call. I will never use this company again. Zero customer service. read more

Broke my fireplace and then ghosted. A technician came to inspect my fireplace, which was making a strange noise. Inspection seemed good and professional and the technician confirmed the fireplace was in good working order and the noise wasn't an indication of a major fault. He then cleaned the fireplace. However, after he left, the fireplace will now not function properly. It will turn on for about 5 minutes, after which there is an audible "click" and the entire system shuts off, including the pilot light. I wondered if the technician had accidentally knocked something whilst cleaning. I called and emailed MetroBC explaining the situation and asked to set an appointment for the technician to come over and fix the issue. Disappointingly, MetroBC did not respond to my calls, voicemails or emails. Before the issue, they were very prompt in calling back with their "instant callback service". As far as I'm concerned, their technician has essentially broken my fireplace, and the company is refusing to even communicate with me, let alone attempt to make it right. read more

I had called Metro City to inspect my fireplace and turn the gas line on from the meter after it hasn't been used for a while. A technician David came, cleaned and turned the fireplace on, testing for gas leaks in it just briefly and declared it safe. I then let him know that I think I smell gas in basement (directly underneath) and asked to test there, but he called it BS since there was no appliances or pipes and didn't bother to test for gas. 3 hours after he left I could definitely smell gas in basement. I called Fortis and evacuated the house. Fortis technician confirmed he was getting leak reading under the fireplace, where the pipe goes into the floor. They had to shut off the gas at the meter for safety concerns. So, what kind of safety inspection is that? They should call their service a fireplace vacuum cleaning. read more

I am shocked and appalled by the unprofessionalism of Reza at metro Hvac . I booked him months in advance because it's hard to find a fireplace cleaner in the fall. Reza showed up half an hour early and told me he couldn't find parking and was leaving. I told him no don't go I have trades parking and he said no his van is too tall but my trades parking has 30 ft ceilings and giant moving trucks park in there. He said no I'm leaving I'm late for my next appointment which was a lie because my appointment was for 9 am and it was only 8:30. I took the day off work and lost money to be there for the cleaning. He said if I knew you were dt I never would have taken the job but he knew my address for months and I told him us was dt!! This man is dishonest and unprofessional. Run from this company. read more

Reza is very professional - he made the service call when I couldn't get a response from another company (He came the same day as the phone call), and since it has been very cold, I truly appreciated this. He had to install a new system, since it required more than annual maintenance to function. Now it is working great (and I am warm!). Price was reasonable and fair. Reza came recommended by a family friend. We previously used a different company two years in a row and still had issues. I contacted Metro BC Heating Services on Boxing Day because other companies I contacted were charging extra for services over the holidays (upwards of $300). They got back to me quickly and came and installed the new tank the next morning. Plus their quote ended up being $225 cheaper than the one given by the company that wanted to also charge extra for holiday service. Thought I had a problem with it a couple of days later (but my fault - I did not have it turned on). There was a guarantee with the service and Reza came over immediately to check on it. Reza cleaned my very new FP (there was nothing wrong with it - just needed maintenance. Now the FP has lots of condensation on it, which was not there before. Asked him to come back and fix it and he said there's nothing he can do. So now my FP is worse off then before he came. Do not use as service. Better to pay extra. read more

We contacted Metro to service our fireplace. The technician, David, came about 1hr later than the appointment already complaining that he has another appointment and can not stay too long. He was whining and acting like he did us a favour stopping by. Instead of explaining politely to my husband what the problem was he went on a long tirade about how he has a bad feeling about this appointment and we have to trust him or he will leave. He was actually packing his stuff and ready to leave us with the fireplace not working, but instructing us to buy a thermostat and install it by ourselves and this is how will save us money. I was upset and eventually he changed the thermostat and for 1 hr of mainly listening to him throwing a fit, little work ( he did not even clean the fireplace properly) and a bit over $250.00 later we have a working fireplace. Not impressed. It feels like I paid a lot of money for somebody to come into my house, disrespect and patronize me in my own house. read more
