Warning!!!! DEATH CAB!!!!! We were picked up in a dilapidated mini van with failing brakes and a wheel that shook violently on the highway. No joke the cabbie called his boss before he dropped us off and told his boss he had no brakes left. -Cab Driver had his two children in the way back seat!!!! I Swear to Fng god and if I didn't have my wife as my witness I wouldn't believe my own eyes -Driver used phone and took his eyes off the road repeatedly -driver complained of shoulder pain and drove erratically taking his eyes off the road and his hands off the wheel repeatedly -driver took both hands off the steering wheel for over ten seconds at one point to clean his nails. We were traveling on the highway with NO Vehicle brakes and NO HANDS on the steering wheel!!!! His kids are in the way back!!!! -cab driver never started or used meter and would only accept $$$ -I took pics of his car # and plate number. Picked up at holiday inn at 1:35pm 4/07/2014 and dropped off at Memphis airport at 2pm -my wife and I are still shaking in fear -this cab driver is a deadly threat to public safety. read more

So, if you're in a pinch and just absolutely need need a taxi instead of a much more safe and HONEST way of getting where you need to go, by all means call ANY OTHER COMPANY!! Trust me, I know all too well what and how they aren't totally bankrupt. But seriously, give Bluff City a call. "They" don't enforce their dispatchers to read from a script. ME: "So, could you offer me a guess at an ETA, sir?". DISPATCH: "They will be calling you in about 10-15 minutes to let you know they're outside." ME: "Really? Okay... ". Literally four full hours later I hadn't even received a courtesy call from the manager to explain why no one had even tried to get me across the city. Finally, I called the number back, and the guy answered half asleep! Later, when I couldn't be late for a meeting I grabbed an Uber... Made it right on time, and while I was chatting with the Uber driver she told me she had been a dispatcher for Metro, and the MALE I spoke to and booked with was the company PRESIDENT!! Bwahaha!!! (Explains the one star reveries all right). She went on to tell me this man enforces the day dispatchers to outright LIE to each and every customer by giving bogus time arrivals. She even told me that after a certain amount of time had passed, and no one had accepted the business I wanted to offer, the dispatchers would simply cancel the request. Boooooo!!!!!!! I've been in a similar profession for over 48 years. My God I've got BANK! And it's not a difficult type of business to excel in. I'm flabbergasted to see any company being run into the ground by sheer laziness. So, I was also told the president was only 26, and no one who'd ever worked there would stay due to his petty micromanagement and all round "holier than thou" attitude. Things began to fall more into place once she had been honest about him. Oh well! Any future visits back to this city I know who not to call. My wife schedule a pick up from home to the Memphis airport for 07/26/2019. Made an appointment the day before. She called the company at 3:57,which they were supposed to pick her up at 4am. They never showed or called. They told her that there were no cabs available. I called them and asked why they didn't pick her up and they told me that they called her 15 til. I wish I was able to give zero stars for this company. I traveled from the Memphis airport to a local hotel and my fare totaled $16. I gave the driver my corporate card for the expense and he laughed in my face and said he wouldn't accept the card for such a cheap fare. I gave him a $20 bill and asked for a receipt so I could expense it back to my company, he sneered like I had asked him to perform a major task and then shoved it in my hand. I proceeded to also ask for my change because he was not worthy of a 25% tip and he got in his vehicle and drove away! I would not recommend this company to anyone. (Memphis, Tn) I had the worst experience with this company. I spoke to a male operator who advised me that they would be able to service my husband and get him to work while our car was down and I was in the only vehicle we have and he assured me that if I called early enough someone would be able to assist me! I did as he said and called early the morning of and a rude and smart mouthed, unprofessional woman answered and all but called me a lie and said that noone would be able to assist me. She was very nonchalant and had a very nasty attitude all the while assuring me that noone could have told me what I was saying! I dont advise anyone to use their company! I'm ok now but a scammer driving around fedex picking up people claiming he is from transportation, as we have a free ride service. Then got me and another employee in his car, then tried to get every other person outside waiting for rides in his van, stating he was transportation.. then got halfway down the road and starting very lighthearted saying he was with another cab service. Even called dispatch and started jokin saying my coworker wasn't paying him and they got off the phone laughing. When he dropped her off he took a photo of this woman's credit card after running his scheme and got back in the car and his attitude changed quick when I said I wasn't giving him money and he could take me back. We luckily pulled back up and alpha transport was right behind us. He was targeting every person he could on the sidewalk at fedex. So messed up. I was so scared he was going to drop me off in the middle of nowhere or take me somewhere bad as we were right off lamar. Silver dodge caravan new year model. Taxi service in the Memphis area is spotty at best. One would think that at least from the airport, you might have better luck, but don't try it after 11:30 pm . The coordinator disappears so you are left in your own in terms of getting one. After repeated calls to Metro at around 12:15 in the morning, and a wait of no less thsn an hour and a half and still no taxi, I finally got one (from another company), but only because he came by the airport on his own. read more

Never answers the phone and when I talked with the dispatcher taxi didn't arrive. I ended up calling another taxi service.

Despite requesting that the driver turn on the meter, he charged me $20 when the meter read less than $8. THEIF!

Awful taxi service, half-broken down dirty cars. Made me miss my flight once, which is awful and time-consuming at a small airport like MEM. Won't use again. Scary bad service. Shady looking drivers made me nervous asking inappropriate questions- repeatedly asked of my marital and motherhood status- not what you want to hear at night, in a dark dirty cab that may break down at any moment.. Never again. Now I figure parking at airport, even though more expensive, is now my best bet. The choices for transportation are dismal in this city. Totally believe the experiences here from other reviewers, given my experiences with this company. Not sure who regulates these taxis, but they need to make sure these cars and drivers are up to standards- no way can this be safe. read more

It is been other disgusting dealing with their non pickup non call back sorry excuse of a cab company. Wouldn't suggest this Cab Company if they were given $2,000 free rides just not worth the hassle,.or lost time. Until today I would have given this company 5 STARS-However, today I waited for 45 minutes when a cab finally showed up. After 20 mins I simply called to ck on the status of my cab. I had already called Metro earlier that day for a ride & had no issue & prompt courteous service. & over the past 14 days had spent many hrs & dollars w/Metro w/no issue. When I called to ck status I was greeted w/nothing but attitude from the dispatcher. After another 10 mins I called & asked to speak to a supervisor I was given the rudest treatment I've ever received from a business where I had been a Generous Repeat Customer. Not only would the dispatcher not give me to a manager or supervisor-she hung up on me. When I called back 10 mins after that to tell them out of courtesy that I was cancelling my order because I had called YELLOW/CHECKER-901-577-7777 & that I was reporting them to the BBB & GIVING THEM A BAD REVIEW HERE the supervisor that answered the phone hung up on me. 10 mins after that a Metro Cab finally showed up. I refused service & explained why & said I had tried to cancel the order & called Yellow/Checker & he copped attitude & said "Good luck waiting all day." 5 minutes later Yellow/Checker showed up w/an amazing driver whom I had a great ride & conversation with. Used Metro Cab to go to the airport. The car was falling apart, the driver insisted that I put my luggage in the back seat with me instead of in the trunk, he didn't use his meter and insisted that I pay cash since his machine for accepting credit cards didn't work. His driving was scary at best breaking numerous traffic laws. Would never use this company again! read more
