Metro diner is a great place for lunch! Big portions give you a bang for your buck. The employees recommend the best plates based on your mood. They don't try to upsell, they genuinely want you to have the best experience. I shared one serving of the pita deluxe between two people and it was more than enough and so delicious. Definitely stop in, the wait is quite quick.

Your neighborhood diner that everyone depends on. Great food, good prices & most importantly super friendly service. You can tell this is where the locals come...I've had burgers, omelets, sandwiches, soup.. nearly everything & the food never disappoints. Their burgers are VERY yummy!!!!

Ham and cheese with toasted bagel and we'll done home fries.

The food was really good. I noticed that our food came relatively quickly and our servers were professional and kind. My steak was juicy and pink, just the way I like it, the potatoes were seasoned really well and they weren't over or undercooked and the caesar salad had the perfect dressing to salad ratio. I would say that I was a little thrown off by the confusing and out of place the playlist seemed to be considering the vibe of the restaurant and the kind of food being served. Overall I really wasn't disappointed by the food or the experience. The restaurant was nice looking and I would definitely come here again.

I'm usually more of a smash burger kind of guy, but the steakhouse style burger was quite flavorful. My only complaint about the burger is that it had no sauce or condiments at all on it. The bacon mac and cheese was also quite nice. The bad: It was pretty overheated in the restaurant, and really humid. The only thing in the restaurant to help with the heat was one big fan at the back. Unfortunately, it was blowing directly on one table of guests back there, and not really doing much for the rest of the people in the restaurant.

Came here around 3 pm and it was empty. They greeted my family and I and seated us right away…read more Brought us water and a delicious hot coffee right away. TONS of options on the menu. It was our first time in New York and after eating at "popular" expensive restaurants we were over it. Something was missing the entire trip. This restaurant had what we were missing. It was cozy and quiet and inviting. We stopped at Gunther's before deciding to come here because this restaurant only had 2 reviews but Gunther's had way more. We walked into Gunther's and were ignored for a solid 5 minutes before we just walked out. Gunther's had a lame menu and zero customer service. We just walked out and came here to Seneca Coffee Restaurant. BEST DECISION EVER. I ordered the Lumberjack Pancakes that came with 3 pancakes, and I ordered sausage with scrambled eggs on the side. Portions were huge and super delicious. Pancakes were big and soft. Sausage was one of the best sausages I've had (I'm particular about my sausages because you can taste the difference between bad quality meats) and the eggs were perfect. My mom ordered a California omelette and it came with a hefty side of potato (salted to perfection) and for half slices of toast. My sister ordered the lumberjack French toast and it was 4 thick half slices of French toast with plenty of egg and 4 long slices of bacon that was crispy and delicious. My mom also ordered a champurrado that was pretty good. I also have to mention that we asked for some pico de gallo and the sweet woman up front made it fresh and brought it immediately. She even asked if it was ok but it was delicious with the perfect amount of spice. All of the food was divine. We left thanking them for a quality brunch and full stomachs. The owners seem like they have a priority to serve their customers properly. Most of our time spent in New York we were rushed and ignored because they are dealing with so many customers and I understand. However, when we came here to Seneca Coffee Restaurant, we realized what was really missing from the New York experience and that was real attention. If you're in the area and you want a quality dining experience where you are not ignored or rushed or feel like you're paying a lot and only getting a little, then you need to come here. We are so happy that we walked out of Gunther's to come here. This place is 11/10 just come here trust me

Every staff member was super young--barely legal or not even. Every interaction felt like staff were practicing their lines, playing a role in a play, and us, customers, were just cast. Waiters and buss boys were speaking to us like we were dumb/deaf/on the spectrum/high/drunk. It was so disconcerting. Never had such weird experience. Made me so uncomfortable. We were the first ones in the door with 11am reservation on a Saturday. The place filled up quickly. High noise level. Not the best for large groups. The burgers sell out quickly, as only 68 are prepared daily, so we snagged those right away. So delicious. Double smashed cheeseburger--simple and satisfying. Very rich. Would return for this again. French toast was disappointing. Looked pretty but tasted of nothing. It wasn't French toast in a traditional preparation: it was bread pudding cut into a slice and drizzled with syrup and served French toast style. The texture was of a moist but bland bread pudding. Utterly disappointing. Skip. War potatoes (crispy potatoes that are served as a side, with a dollop of super spicy sauce) were very tasty. Double or triple fried to a crispy perfection. Love me some perfectly crisp potatoes. These are super caloric, so prepare for some heartburn after. Ask for war sauce on the side because it is SPICY. House made pistachio gelato was superb. So many pistachios--I'd eat this daily and would return for this!

The chicken orzo soup was a comforting and tasty way to start the meal. My lunch companion had the lemonade, which came in a classic malt cup and it looked freshly squeezed. It was a refreshing touch, because it is rare to see an establishment serve freshly squeezed lemonade. The ambiance is casual, and the service was attentive without being overbearing. We were also intrigued to try the sangria that yelp raved about. We got a pitcher! It did NOT disappoint. It was a decent size pitcher for the price. Roza came to us and asked if we liked it and told us it was her recipe. No sugar ,No soda .It was tasty, thick full of fruit and definitely had liquor because I left with a buzz She also brought out the rosè for us to try pretty good too very refreshing will definitely do that one in warmer weather. I got the Dbar burger it was good but so big I didn't finish it all. My husband got the rib eye burger. He liked it but it was a little to greasy for him he didn't finish it. My 13 year old wanted breakfast. It was not in the menu but we figured we ask since it is a diner. She got pancakes with fruit and scrambled eggs. My youngest daughter got from the kids menu grilled cheese with fruit she enjoyed it so much we had to order another. Both girls for the marshmallow milkshake they LOVED it! For appetizers we got calamari good but could've used a little more breading. Also got chips with guacamole and honestly for a diner it was delicious. Everyone was friendly. Roza knew she had a bday past since we conversed for a bit and suggested we can sing her happy bday and asked what she liked I told her chocolate cake. They asked for the correct spelling of her name which I thought was sweet. Anyway the staff came out and sang with us super cool. Even the bathrooms are really clean. It was a great experience will definitely come back.I must be honest it's a hit pricey. The price for the pancakes with eggs was $23 when we saw the bill I was a little surprised. Kids' meals are $13 and I thought we were getting the cake (free, lol) since I technically didn't suggest it. It was $12 for a slice. But overall it was a pleasure she even gave us a sample of vodka with lemon and ginger which was actually good and helps settle the stomach.
